Wow this is ssssoooo overdue! So sorry guys! I just sort of...fell out of writing for a while. But here's a new chapter and I thank you for waiting so patiently! By the way, sorry if this chapter is kind of bad I hope you enjoy it though!
Rixka sighed in slight irritation as she trudged down the hallway, rubbing her left eye with a loosely closed fist. She hadn't slept very well last night… Her mind had been occupied with thoughts of Axel. Every time she had closed her eyes, the image of Axel leaning closer to her would pop into her mind. She groaned once more as the image came back once again, an ever present memory that refused to be forgotten. She bowed her head, covering her face with both hands as she proceeded to walk, her black hair falling forward as she did so.
"Ugh! What were you even thinking of doing…?" She grumbled into her hands. She huffed in annoyance, getting ready to lift her head up though she was a bit too late as she walked into someone.
"Hey! Watch where you're going, stupid!" A feminine voice snapped quite angrily.
"S-Sorry!" Rixka quickly said, lifting her head up. The person before her was one she had seen around the base but not one she had spoken too before. She eyed the blonde female a bit, taking in the way she had her hands on her hips and was glaring at Rixka.
"Oh of course. The new brat. I was honestly expecting Demyx but you're no real surprise either." She snapped.
Rixka made a face, looking at this woman as if she were crazy. What the hell?! Who gave her the right to talk like that?!
"Hey, calm down… I said sorry. It's not like I just came up and punched you in the face or something. "Rixka spoke though that probably wasn't the right thing to say.
The blonde scoffed, rolling her eyes. "As if you'd be strong enough to punch me. The best you could muster is a measly little tap. Come on already, we've got work to do. It's your lucky day since you're paired up with me." She smirked before turning on her heel and strutting away.
What…the….heck….? Rixka stared after the girl as if she had grown two heads. The nerve of her! Okay so Rixka certainly wasn't the strongest yet but dang she had gotten pretty good over these last few days! She huffed and stalked after her apparent partner for the day, crossing her arms over her chest. "So just who are you then?"
"What? You don't know? Geeze you really are stupid if you don't know everyone's names by now. My name is Larxene. I suggest you remember it."
Rixka rolled her own eyes, glancing off to the side as she mumbled under her breath. "I would have thought it was Bitcherella…"
Larxene turned her head a bit to look over her shoulder at Rixka, glaring a bit. "What was that?"
Rixka turned back to Larxene, closing her eyes as she put on a fake smile. "I said I'll remember, Larxene!"
Larxene narrowed her eyes a bit before nodded and walking ahead, opening a portal to another world. Rixka stopped for a moment to look up at it, wondering just where she'd be going today… What she'd be fighting… If she'd be fighting that is. It was kind of exciting honestly. When she had first woken up in this strange world with these strange people she had been so confused and afraid… Now she was pretty sure about herself! At least getting there. She wasn't defenseless anymore after all and she had friends that she cared about. At least she thought she cared about them… She definitely remembered what it was like to care…
That was the only problem she could really think of… The lack of feeling… Why could she not feel emotions? She remembered what they were like but as far as she could tell she could no longer feel them… It was odd.
She shook her head quickly. No time to be contemplating such difficult things! She had a mission to do! Plus Larxene was probably getting even pissier… This was reason enough to hurry up! Taking a breath, she stepped through the portal, ending up next to a very mad looking blonde…
"What did you get lost? I thought I'd have to go back to lead you here by your hand."
"Sorry, Larxene, I uh…got caught up." Lame excuse.
"Whatever. Let's just go." Larxene began walking off, weaving her way through the trees that surrounded them.
As Rixka followed she took the time to look around, finding they were in some kind of forest… She wondered where they'd be going but it didn't take long to figure it out. Soon she stepped out of the trees and into a clearing that looked toward a large, run down mansion.
"What are we doing here, Larxene…?" Rixka questioned as she stared up at the dilapidated home.
"You don't even know that? You sure are useless, you know that?"
"Yea, sure I know. Are you going to answer me now?"
"We're here looking for information. There should be a room in here with computers if our information is right. We need to access those computers and get the information in them. Got it?"
"Got it…" Rixka spoke softly, following after Larxene.
Once inside the large manor, Rixka and Larxene went their separate ways. Larxene kept to the downstairs while Rixka went up. She looked from the left set of stairs to the right, wondering which to go up first. She shrugged and began doing inny minny miney mo. As her finger landed on the left side she began to go up and down to the room. As she pushed the door open she blinked a few times, finding herself to be in a completely white room filled with drawings. What an odd room… She stepped further in, looking at some of the pictures. Perhaps this was a child's play room…?
Rixka stopped as she came to one picture. She narrowed her eyes as she looked down at it, crouching to pick the picture up off the floor. The girl in the picture…looked like her. There were some differences though such as the clothing but still… This girl in the picture that someone had drawn looked an awful lot like Rixka even if it was a crudely done image.
"Rixka! Are you done yet?! Hurry up with your half of the work!" Larxene yelled from downstairs.
Rixka quickly turned to look at the door, folding the drawing up and slipping it into her cloak. "R-Right! Almost done, Larxene! One more room!" Rixka yelled back, getting to her feet and leaving the room, pulling the door shut behind her.
Rixka quickly went across to the other side of the mansion, finding herself in an old library. She blinked a couple of times as she slowly walked around the room. Well…this was obviously a wasted trip. She sighed softly, turning to leave the room only to trip over a book. Gasping, she reached a hand out to steady herself. Only when her hand touched the wall, the wall disappeared leaving the poor girl to fall over. She groaned, slowly pushing herself up to look at where she had fallen.
"What the hell…?" She mumbled aloud as she slowly pushed herself to her feet, looking down the hallway she had uncovered.
"Rixka, will you hurry up! Did you find anything or not?!" Larxene's voice shouted to her, sounding even more annoyed than before.
Rixka glanced toward the door then back at the hallway, pressing her lips together to form a thin line. She had a bad feeling… Like she should keep this a secret… She slowly backed away from the hidden hallway, watching as the wall soon returned to place.
"Sorry, Larxene… I didn't find anything." Rixka called back, leaving the room. She walked back down the stairs, meeting up with the annoying and annoyed blonde.
"Well this was pointless. What a great waste of time. Come on; let's just get out of here." Larxene huffed, opening another portal and walking on through.
Rixka glanced back up the stairs, first to the left then to the right. Shaking her head, she followed after Larxene and stepped into the main room, the portal closing up behind her. She offered a small wave to Demyx as she went on by.
Her mind was a bit occupied at the moment… This time not with Axel too. Why had she brought this drawing with her…? Why was she so sure the girl in the picture was herself…? Also why had she hidden the secret room from Larxene? It had been their job to find it but…for some reason she felt like it should have remained hidden… Why though?
"Rixka!" A voice shouted near her ear.
She gasped, turning quickly to face a concerned looking Axel. She put a hand over where her heart would have been, taking a deep breath. "A-Axel, you scared me! Why did you yell at me?!"
"I only yelled because you didn't answer the first three times I said your name… You okay, Rix? Got something on your mind…?" The spiky hair boy asked, crossing his arms over his chest as his kept his emerald eyes focused on the girl before him.
Rixka hesitated a moment, debating on if she should talk to Axel about what had happened today… She trusted him but at the same time she felt like she should keep everything to herself. Averting her eyes, she gave him a small shrug. "I'm fine, Axel. Just….thinking."
"Right… Hey, listen, Rix, about yesterday… I don't know what I was thinking… You're not…mad are you?"
"Mad…?" Rixka blinked, looking back up at Axel. "I…don't think so…" She narrowed her eyes a bit as if concentrating on something. "I think…I was just surprised… I'm not mad though… What were you going to do though, Axel…?"
"I don't know if I should tell you that… Might make you mad." He said as he lifted a hand to rub at the back of his head.
"I can't really get mad, you know." She replied, smirking a bit as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Good point. It's not too important though. Let's just put it behind us, alright?" He grinned down at her, stepping forward to drape an arm around her shoulders. "How about you and me, and maybe Roxas, go and get some ice cream and watch the sunset? Sound good?"
Rixka looked up at Axel, blinking a few times. She really wanted to try and figure things out but…worrying would surely get her nowhere. She might as well try to enjoy herself a bit. Smiling some, she leaned into the taller man. "Yea… Let's get some ice cream and watch the sunset. Sounds perfect to me."
"Great! ….You sure you're okay, Rixka…?" Axel questioned once more, frowning a bit as he looked at his shorter companion.
"Yea… I'm okay, Axel. I promise." She closed her eyes, letting the red head lead her away as she pressed a hand to her chest, listening to the soft crinkling sound as she confirmed the paper was still tucked away safely in her cloak. She'd be sure to look at it later… For now she just wanted to spend some time with her friends.
