Brielle Cavanaugh's POV
"Brielle! For the love of god Brielle WAKE UP!"
"Mmm…leave me alone." I mumbled, nestling deeper into the mattress and pulling my pillow over my head.
After a few moments of silence I sighed in content, assuming that the person had left. Suddenly my blanket was yanked off my body and I squeaked as the cold air pricked my skin.
"Charlotte!" I squealed, launching myself forward so I was sitting upright.
"We're supposed to meet Avalon and Scarlett at The Brew in five minutes!" Charlotte said, picking up the pillow I had thrown across the room and squatting me with it.
"But I'm tired." I sighed dramatically and flopped back down on the bed.
"Does I look like I care?" Charlotte asked, giving me her best poker face.
"Damn girl." I grumbled. "And they say you're the empathetic one."
"People change." Charlotte replied, grabbing my arm and attempting to drag me from my bed.
"How did you even get in here? My parents aren't letting me have visitors." I asked, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
"They weren't here, and I know where you keep the spare key so I let myself in." Charlotte informed, finally giving up on the tedious task of making me leave the room, and collapsing on the chair in the corner of my room.
"That's not creepy at all." I replied sarcastically, earning a glare from Charlotte. "Maybe you're A." I joked darkly.
"Would you just hurry up and get changed." Charlotte said, ignoring my remark. "We have a lot to talk about."

Around fifteen minutes later Charlotte and I walked into The Brew. As soon as we entered I started to look around for Avalon and Scarlett.
"Charlotte! Brielle! Over here!" Avalon yelled, from the back corner of the café. She started waving her arms around widely narrowly missing Scarlett's head.
Charlotte and I walked over to the table and sat down. Scarlett was hiding behind a menu trying to avoid the glares of the other coffee drinkers whose attention had been drawn to this table by Avalon's screeches.
"We already ordered for you." Scarlett said, smiling weakly.
"Are you alright?" Charlotte asked concerned.
"I'm fine." Scarlett shot back, plastering on a fake smile.
After a few moments of silence Avalon turned to me. "Why did you get arrested?" She asked abruptly.
"Seriously?" Scarlett and Charlotte groaned. "That was not a part of the plan."
"I never said I'd follow the plan." Avalon reminded, leaning back onto her seat.
"Is this an intervention?" I asked suspiciously.
"Of course not." Scarlett reassured. "We just wanted to hear the story from you."
"I didn't do anything wrong." I said, clenching my fists. "I was set up. Made to look guilty."
My three best friends stared at me with wide eyes. I sighed and started to explain everything to them starting from getting arrested and finishing at the fight with my parents. However, I did leave out the parts with Ryder in them, I didn't think it was necessary to bring that up yet.
"Wow." Avalon said, after I had finished explaining everything.
"Tell me about it." I grumbled, taking a long sip of my coffee which had been brought to the table halfway through the discussion.
"But if you didn't do anything wrong, you can't get in trouble, right?" Charlotte said.
"There's nothing stopping them from getting me in trouble." I pointed out. "After all who's going to believe a sixteen year old? A isn't messing around, this isn't just game. At least not to us. We should all be scared. Because it's me today and it could be any of you tomorrow." I finished glancing around at the scared faces of my friends.
"What does A want?" Avalon asked.
"I don't know." I muttered.
"Guys I made a mistake." Scarlett blurted out suddenly.
I exchanged a worried look with Avalon and Charlotte. "What did you do?" Charlotte prodded gently.
"You know that English essay we had to hand in." Scarlett started, wringing her hands together nervously. She waited until we nodded in agreement. "The essay I handed in wasn't mine. I stole it."
"You stole it?! Who from?" Avalon asked, sounding just as shocked as I felt.
"Grace." Scarlett replied, she looked on the verge of tears and put her head in her hands. "I'm going to be in so much trouble."
"But no one's going to find out." Avalon said. "We won't tell anyone." Charlotte and I nodded our heads in agreement.
"That doesn't matter. A knows." Scarlett said.
"I'm not surprised." I murmured, placing a comforting hand on Scarlett's shoulder.
"After I stole the essay I went to look through my camera, and there were pictures that I had never taken." Scarlett said softly.
"Pictures of what?" Avalon asked in confusion.
"You." Scarlett answered, looking up at Avalon.
"Me!" Avalon squeaked. "What was I doing?"
Scarlett anxiously ran her hands up and down her legs, "Setting fire to Jackson's car, kissing Griffin and changing your grades."
"Oh my god." Avalon breathed.
"What happened then?" Charlotte urged.
"A offered me an ultimatum." Scarlett continued. "Either I send the pictures to Avalon's parents or A would tell mine about the essay."
"What did you do?" I asked.
Scarlett looked at me in surprise, "Obviously I deleted the pictures. I'm not going to exploit Avalon, who do you think I am?"
"But now you're going to get in trouble." Avalon said quietly.
"I deserve it." Scarlett said. "What I did was stupid."
"Thank you." Avalon said sincerely. "Scarlett?" Avalon asked suddenly, changing the subject. "Where were you last night?"
"At home." Scarlett replied, averting her eyes in the direction of her coffee.
"No you weren't. I came by and you weren't there." Avalon said.
"If you must know, I was out." Scarlett sniffed.
"Were you with a guy?" Charlotte grinned.
"No!" Scarlett exclaimed defensively. "Well maybe."
Avalon, Charlotte and I burst out laughing, "Shut up!" Scarlett said hotly, her face glowing red. However, her reaction only made us giggle more.
"Who's that?" Avalon asked, her happy demeanour changing quickly. We all turned in the direction Avalon was looking. Jackson Cole had just walked into the café, a young girl in the tow.
"That's Ivy Cole." Charlotte answered. "Jackson's little sister. I saw her sometimes when I went to see Jackson. She's strange, doesn't talk very much."
"She looks scared." Scarlett pointed out.
"I would be too." Avalon chuckled. "She has to spend time with Jackson."
Charlotte glared at Avalon, "Too soon?" Avalon asked.
Jackson grabbed his coffee and headed out of The Brew. Ivy turned to follow him, but just before she reached the door she turned around and sent a worried look in the direction of where we were sitting.
"What was that about?" I asked, when Ivy had left.
No sooner than the words had left my mouth, a simultaneous ring was heard. Pulling out my phone, I checked the message.

I hastily walked into my house and shut the door behind me. After receiving the message the girls and I had rapidly spilt, and went our own directions.
"Hi Mom." I greeted, as I walked past my mother on the way to the stairs.
She merely nodded. I stopped walking and whirled around so I was facing her.
"I'm sorry!" I blurted out. My mom looked up at me in surprise. "I know I made a mistake, and I realise now how much pain I have caused you. I didn't mean to disappoint you." I finished, my voice breaking slightly the end.
My mom quickly walked towards me and enveloped me in a hug, "I'm sorry." I murmured.
"I know baby." My mom said, pulling back and smiling at me. Her facial expression suddenly contorted into one of worry. "Brielle if you were in trouble you would tell me, right?" She said seriously.
"Of course." I lied quickly. "Why?"
"No reason." My mom replied briskly, faking a smile. "Promise you will tell me if anything is wrong."
I nodded, because I knew that if I replied with a promise, it would have already been broken.
