DISCLAIMER: I wish I did own GSD XD

"What's your deal!? You come here, confessing your love and then telling her you have heaps of her pictures on your phone?" Cagalli shouted at the top of her lungs, startling Shinn. Her room was almost soundproof so she wasn't concerned one bit. "You ask me how, so I told you! Don't shout, okay? We're not that far from each other…" Shinn rubbed his ears; he thought he'd gone deaf.

"Well, I have to say no to your confession. Since my break up with Athrun, I haven't felt the urge to uhm… let's see… to love?" She blushed slightly. "Yes, there was something between us back when you guys worked here, and that we've been close for those remaining days you were here… but all of it… for me it was just friendship… It was not mutual understanding; it's just that we… got along…"

"It's the same! Didn't you feel anything? Like wanting to spend time with me or anything? Luna and I are done! I broke up with her because I fell in love with you!" Shinn's face was redder than a tomato… if that was possible…

"Well, I did feel secured when you were there but…"

"That proves it then!"

"Hey, wait! You broke up with her for that reason?"

"You remember that whole, 'the girl who Shinn loves and hates'?"

"Oh, no… You mean…?"

"Yes! It was you! But I no longer hate you! I've understood that fact when I talked to you!"

"Oh my… I shall… reconsider then… But wait… Is that the reason you came here? To confess to me…?"

"Well, uh… Yeah… You see, before coming here… I files my resignation and –"

"YOU WHAT!?"

"Hey! Why are you always interrupting my sentences?"

"My goodness… So you're unemployed…?"

"Yeah…"

Cagalli sighed then she covered her face with both hands, shaking her head. Shinn was already having a stable job at ZAFT and here he is, indirectly asking for a job. What was Cagalli to do then? Hire him, of course.

"Fine. Fine. Fine! I'll appoint you as an employee of ORB…"

"R-really? Wow… I'm so excited…" Shinn smiled brightly, his happiness was radiating and it made Cagalli smile as well. "Anyway, what did the others say about this?"

"W-well… Athrun and Kira knew that we were friends so they weren't that surprised when I told them. Was it because I'm originally from ORB…? You know, born and raised here… So, they told me, "Oh so you want to serve your country of origin blah blah blah' or something like that…"

"Ah… I see… Okay then… Is it okay if you have the same position here as when you were there?"

"Yes."

"Okay…" Cagalli took a clean sheet of paper with an ORB seal on the bottom right. She took her pen from her desk and started to write. It was a personal letter that states Shinn as a soldier of ORB, as per requested by the Supreme Commander. She asked Shinn to attach his profile to the letter before turning it in. Shinn nodded, somehow knowing it will happen so he took something from his case. Cagalli raised a brow because she did not notice him bringing a suitcase with him. She shook her head and didn't bother thinking about it again. The raven haired Coordinator took a stapler from the desk and secured the papers together. "Here, done."

"That was fast…" Cagalli took another paper, this time it was smaller and drew what seems to be a map going somewhere. "Here. This is a map I drew for you. Go to this room and give that to him." She explained to Shinn as she pointed at the arrows and lines she drew. Shinn took it, analyzed it and thanked her. He left the room then closed the door.

"What is happening with the world….?"

A few days have passed; Shinn was now working as a Lieutenant. He entered Cagalli's office to submit a report to her but caught her trying to call someone. "Darn… His phone is ringing but he isn't answering…" She was in a bad mood. Shinn knew that much judging by her actions.

"Who are you trying to call?" He placed the stack of papers on her desk as he asked. "Is it Akihiko?"

"How'd you know? Well, yeah… He hasn't been contacting me ever since he left and now that I decided to check up on him, he's not answering!"

"Calm down… I'm sure he's safe. When I left there, he was writing something as the engineers worked on the mobile suits… and he has a lot of paper in his room… We visited him once so I saw it."

The blonde princess sighed in relief; she was able to breathe again knowing that nothing bad has happened. "Oh yeah, before you left the PLANTs, what's the current status of the mobile suits?"

"Hmm… It was still by the lower half… The operating system, programming and features were already planned before the construction so it's a 60% done?"

"Why are you unsure of that?" Cagalli narrowed her eyes; unconvinced of Shinn's explanation. "Well, I'm not part of the project… I don't know anymore that what I told you…"

"But you're a pilot! I mean, you're one of the people who are going to pilot the suits."

"That doesn't mean I'm obliged to know about the progress…"

Defeat was evident on Cagalli. Okay, Fine. He didn't need to know. He probably thought he only needed to know after it's done. She didn't bother asking anymore and shooed him away. "Go back to work."

At that, Shinn smiled, bowed and then left. Cagalli sighed once the door was closed and continued to call Akihiko's phone. "Why isn't he answering…"

'The number you have dialed is currently unavailable or out of coverage area. Please try your call later.'

"Hm… Now he turned it off…" She sighed again, resting her head on her desk, supported by her hands. "I wish he would at least update me every other day…"

"Accident…"

A voice rang in her mind, as if it was telling her that something happened. "What…?" But a while ago his phone was just-"
