I'm back! This chapter took me longer than it should've!
I've been spending time doing things that needed to be taken care of (school prep, short film stuff, family time, YT channel, spending time with irl and online friends, etc.)
Here's Chapter 31! Enjoy! It's a good one!
Zoey POV
"You'll never guess who just showed up at the front step of our house."
Paige and I had my phone on speaker. Once our new roomie arrived, we recognized him instantly. He was TBNRFrags, aka Preston Anderson, the handsome single Minecraft Youtuber from Texas. The one with the horrible family past. The one whose sister was married to TheBajanCanadian. The one who always says he loves his fans. And that's why Paige and I loved him so much.
If you want to hear a backstory… ask her. I'm basically the girl with her head in the books while Paige is the charismatic bad-a**. But, Preston and Minecraft did bring us together, so I'm grateful for that.
We ushered Preston into another room and decided to call our other Preston-fangirl, Angel.
"Wait, who?" Angel questioned.
"You will never believe us," I responded.
Angel never took no for an answer, since she was our best friend. "Tell me!"
Paige grinned, "Preston TBonerFrags."
"No way," Angel gasped. She seemed awfully strange about the situation. As if she knew something we didn't...
"Told you so," I blurted.
"Why is he here?"
Paige continued. "He said he needed to get away from something... Someone has to be after him!"
"So we'll be there to hide him! It won't be that hard to feed and get clothes and take care of an extra person. I can come over if you need more help..." Angel giggled.
"You only wanna talk to Purston," Paige chuckled. However, we all knew she was right. "But sure you can come over."
"What do we tell Preston?" I asked, curious of his reaction if Angel all of the sudden appeared at our door.
"We'll tell him that we want to help him as long as he needs us." Paige had completely shifted to another topic.
"Are you saying that we're keeping Preston in our house...?" I stumbled, glancing towards Paige.
"Forever. He doesn't want to be found." My friend winked in my direction then turned back to my phone. "That sound okay?"
"Fine with me," Angel replied, "As long as I get the most time with him!"
"Hey," Paige interrupted, "We all get the same time with him... together and alone."
I gulped, "What if he wants to leave?"
Angel instantly answered my query, "You, Paige, and I convince him otherwise. We're all grown women. We can do it."
"But it's just that it sounds like we're..." I hated to think of the idea, I had to bring it up, "Kidnapping him."
"Seriously," Paige rubbed my back with her hand, "We're protecting him. Preston needs up, Zoey."
"If you say it that way..." I mumbled, "I'm in."
"Yes!" Paige punched her fist up into air. She returned to the phone conversation moments later. "Angel, are you heading over?"
"Yup!" Angel exclaimed, "I'll be there in a few minutes!" She gasped, "Oh, almost forgot, my sister Rouge is dating this guy who sounds a lot like Preston. She hasn't told me his name yet."
"Strange," Paige trailed off, but quickly regained focus, "Well we gotta go get ready for the Purston. See you in a few!"
"Bye," Angel squealed, obviously excited.
"Bye!" Paige concluded and ended the call, looking to me. "We have some work to do."
Mitch POV
I couldn't deal with Draco on the night of Ray's opening. I couldn't do it when she might've still been in the building. What I couldn't stand the most was the fact that Ray had to sing to… that man… The man who had been trying to kill her for years. The one who manipulated her life while she was with me. And as her husband, I couldn't let someone like that get away with it.
So… I found out the time and place of Draco's solo rehearsal for Hit List and drove to the location. How I got the information? Easy. Talked to Laurel, who remembered me from the tour bus and… tricked… her into spilling the details… it's a long story…
And how I sneaked out of the Team Crafted house to drive to the rehearsal? Told Jerome that I made food. He leapt down to the kitchen faster than we can win the Hunger Deans. Once he got there, Jerome called out to the other TC boys to huddle around everything a young man can eat in one sitting.
Meanwhile, I was on my way to the theater. After parking my car, I barged inside.
"Draco Kehtarin!" I shouted. Luckily, Draco stood center stage, no one else around.
His eyes flickered up as I stormed to the front row of seats. He seemed nonchalant and relaxed for a man who was about to get pounded by my fist. "Ah… Mitchell Hughes. I knew you'd be coming around soon enough."
I held my ground, standing below him on the ground when I figured I should've gotten to the same level. "What the crap was with the incident with Ian's car?! Or do you not know what I'm talking about cause I'm pretty sure you do!"
Draco's eyebrow lifted. "You're not worried about Ray?"
I rolled my eyes. "Well… for now I wanna know why Scott attacked my friends and destroyed a car!"
That would've been the first time I'd seen Draco scared. "Why don't you ask Scott himself?"
"He's in a freaking hospital! I would murder his guts right there and then if I walked into that hospital."
"I'm not spilling anything. Not to you."
"Scott is working with you to ruin my wife. Why?"
"I only hired him to do the dirty work. First of all… I did not ask him to… do those things in his apartment… That was his own personal interest…"
"If he worked for you, you should've monitored him better!"
"Mitchell, there are personal things about Ray and her family… you don't need to know…"
"I should know everything about what happens to my family… cause Ray and Preston are both my family…" A distant memory that suddenly flashed back. "Do you know anyone by the name of Johnny Weaver?"
Draco eyes darted away from mine. "Weaver doesn't have anything to do with this."
I couldn't believe Draco thought I would buy into his lies. "Are you so sure?! Maybe you originally teamed up with Johnny to get rid of Ray because of the car accident years ago!"
Draco growled. "I can tell you one thing Hughes… I never allied myself with Allison, Caleb, and Weaver."
I shook my head, not trusting him one second. "How am I so sure you're not lying to me?! Like you've been doing with Ray for as long as I've known you?!"
"Those are personal issues!"
"Ray has no clue why you're doing this! Cut it out or else there will be consequences."
Draco didn't reply. He just stared at me with wide eyes, wondering what I would do next. I had expected for him to react like Scott when I met with him at the first solo rehearsal. This was different. But Draco was… frightened…
"I'll be on my way… contact me at this number whenever you want to give me answers." I pulled out a card and a pen, wrote my phone number on it, and slid it on the stage so Draco could pick it up. Although nervous myself that Draco could use that number for devious reasons, it seemed as if he would answer my questions.
I gave Draco one more furious glare and marched straight out of the theater and back to my car.
I told you so.
Fangirls Zoey and Paige are "kidnapping" Preston, Angel is Rouge's sister, Mitch wants answers, and Draco seems willing to give them. What will happen to Ray and Preston when the answers are eventually revealed? Find out in the next few chapters of Living on a Few Dreams!
