Ray POV

I couldn't believe I remembered Jade's words from so long ago. Preston in a gang? Draco wanting revenge and taking it out mostly on me? It didn't add up. There must have been something more that none of us knew. Maybe if I talked to Jade...

Preston coughed, shaking me from my thoughts. He was in the middle of watching one of Jerome's Hunger Games videos and I chose to stay in Preston's room while he did so.

"You okay?" I asked my brother. Preston only nodded and returned to the video.

The door to Preston's room opened a crack. I spun around in the chair to find Mitch at the doorway. "Ray, can I talk to you privately?" he asked me. I nodded, smiled towards Preston although my brother couldn't see me, and stood. We strolled down the hallway and into our bedroom, Mitch closing the door once inside.

His words came out sharp. "There's something you're not telling me."

I raised my eyebrow, surprised at my husband's tone. "Mitch… my brother just came home from being missing for over a week! Why are you pressuring me?!"

"Cause…" Mitch explained, "you've been ignoring me and the rest of your friends for a while. We've been getting worried, especially me. To be honest, I'm now confused about our relationship."

I opened my mouth, almost speechless. "What is there to be confused about?"

Mitch shook his head, biting his lower lip before talking. "I go out to help you with Draco… and you barely acknowledge me when I return! I've been helping you since the beginning! And what have I gotten in return?!"

"Mitch…" I pleaded, wondering why he'd picked that moment to rage at my actions.

"And the thing with Scott!" He almost screamed, "How am I to know that you didn't allow him to do that to you?!"

"Mitch!" I yelled, angry at him for thinking such things. "You wanna know the truth?!"

He threw his hands at his head like a madman and lowered them for effect. "Yes! Please! I'm patiently waiting!"

I quietly groaned before beginning. "Okay… I was walking home from the rehearsal. Scott stalked me from behind but then asked if I could join him in his home, and I said only until Fia picked me up. Once we got there, Scott offered me a beverage but I refused to drink it. Then he pushed me onto his couch, talked about me being special, and covered my mouth until I was unconscious. I don't remember anything until waking up without my sweatshirt on, and Amy kicking me out. I got home and told you. And you told me to quit the musical." I had said everything that Mitch already knew, except the drink, but that wasn't important.

Mitch calmed down after the story. "I didn't mean it back then. You did amazing in that show."

"After you played B-Team with Jerome and the guys, I cried in the bathroom." I said in a whisper. Mitch barely heard me, but he did.

He kept his voice lower, but still pressured me to reveal the full truth. "There's something else you're not telling me."

I shook my head, attempting to ignore his questions. "No there isn't."

"Rachael." It shocked me that Mitch used my full name instead of Ray. I stared straight into his eyes, knowing that Mitch was legit this time. He knew what he wanted. "We need to be honest with each other if we want our marriage to work. I love you and I know you love me but you have to compromise."

I stumbled and looked around the room, trying not to mess up on what I wanted to say. "Uh… Remember when I stormed into Jerome's room all happy and wanted to talk with you…?"

"Yeah… we went into our room…" He paused. "What does that have to do with anything?"

I gulped. "Mitch, I'm having a baby."

Mitch raised an eyebrow, worried that Scott had gotten in the way of his love for me. "Whose?"

A slight smile grew on my lips. "Yours." I stopped for a moment to take in Mitch's shocked expression. "I went to a doctor after the Hit List opening and she confirmed it through a test."

"That's…" Mitch shook his head out of disbelief. "Great… Ray! I'm so happy for us! We're gonna be parents!"

I smiled. "I'm glad you're happy. I quitting Hit List."

His grin disappeared. "You are?"

I nodded, still maintaing a smile, "I performed three shows this year. That counts for my entire freshman college credit. I only signed up to get my credit. Didn't expect to fall in love with the musical… but Draco and Clara's death will ruin me if I stay. Like you said."

"But I thought performing is your dream."

"It is."

"But you're quitting…"

"Next year, I'll be auditioning for another musical. I think you'll like this one better."

"Which one?"

I smirked and ducked my head. "Les Miserables."

"Really? Isn't that… one of the most popular musicals ever?"

I glanced up at Mitch yet again, more excited than usual. "Yeah. Amy has me in high running to be Eponine."

"That's a huge role!"

"Clara loved Les Miserables."

Mitch completely ignored my statement about Clara only grinning in excitement. "Ray! You're gonna be in a famous musical!"

I rolled my eyes, only mocking the Bajan. "Of course it's through the university though…"

"But it's a great musical." Mitch begun, but then gasped. "Ray! Why haven't you told me this?! You're getting a stunner role in a musical and a baby?!"

I giggled, too excited to say anything.

"Is it a boy or girl?"

"Not sure yet. Only been two months."

"Two months?! Two months and you haven't told me?!"

"Mitch… I checked with the doctor a week ago."

"Oh." He placed his hand against my stomach. "Hey there little guy. I'll call you 'little Benja' for right now. Until we know you're a boy or girl."

I laughed, "You're a funny guy, you know that?"

"No I didn't." Mitch looked up at me with a smirk and winked.

I only glanced down at my husband, smiling.

He continued, stopping the silence, "I wish we could've always been like this. Happy and humorous."

Shaking my head, I replied, "Not everything works out all of the time. You sometimes gotta wait."

"When can we tell the others?"

"When the time comes… for now…"

"You need to rest."

"Huh?"

"Leave worrying about Preston to me, okay, babe?"

"Wait… You've never called me that before… And you said you visited Draco… why'd you…?"

Mitch interrupted me mid-sentence. "Ray calm down." He walked over to the back of the bed and pulled over the sheets on my side. "Just lay down and I'll be with the other guys in the entertainment room if you need me."

I widened my eyes. "Seriously? You just want me to stay here?"

"Yes. I'm serious."

"What about Draco, Lia, Allison, and Ashley?"

Mitch scratched the back of his neck. "Um… Fia probably forgot to tell you…"

"What?" I asked worriedly.

Mitch sighed, afraid to tell me the news. "Ashley is dead. She killed herself a few days ago."

"A few days ago?!"

"Yeah. Fia heard from Kohta who heard from Allison."

"Is Kohta on our side now? Is Allison too?"

"I have no idea. You just need to relax so I can settle out everything else."

I placed my right hand on my hip and pouted my bottom lip. "Fine. I'll stay here while you have fun with your friends."

Mitch burst out laughing, which made me smile. Then I walked to the back of the bed and crawled under the newly washed, warm sheets. Once seeing me comfortable, my husband smiled, flicked the light switch, stopped at the doorway, and his romantic gaze met mine. Finally, the pearly Benja brown eyes vanished from my sight and I slipped into a deep sleep.

Ray is having a surprise Benja baby! How exciting! But what will Mitch do to finally end the conflict between Ray and Draco? What will become of Allison and Kohta?
