The alphas howl ripped through me and my closing eyes snapped open. A beta could not deny the call of an alpha. A low growl rumbled in me as I stood and I barely registered the fact that the alpha looked exactly like my father as I ran forward, my teeth bared.

My mother crouched low, baring her own teeth in a snarl as I neared her, something pulled me back and I went flying, my arms windmilling as I skidded through the flowers. Landing flat on my butt I hissed at Derek as he ran past me.

The bastard had tripped me over.

Standing up again I moved forward, waiting for my chance to join in the fight that had broken out. I was pushed back once more and growled as Scott and Isaac shoved past me, one on either side and had no trouble in diving into the fray. Three against one would be rather unfair, but my mother had already thrown Derek to the side. She certainly knew what she was doing. Without another thought I got up and hung around the edge of the fight and stepped sideways as Scott got thrown backwards.

Unfortunately for me I didn't step away quick enough and was once more knocked to the ground. Glaring now I stood once more and this time didn't wait but walked straight up and pulled Isaac out of the way.

My mother and I stared at each other for a split second before she reached out, her taloned claws swiping a few centimetres away from my face, taking a step backwards I hissed and made an attack of my own. Lunging forward I swiped at her unprotected torso and managed to get a small scrap before she jumped out of the way.

All I got for my attack was a scratch.

This was not going to go well. I could clearly see that already.

I lunged forward again, aiming for her throat this time, some small part of me knew that it was hopeless and that it was a stupid move. But did I listen to that part?

No.

Why would I? So I went for it and landed face first on the ground as my mother side stepped and tripped me, giving an extra little shove to help me along. I was really bad at this whole fighting thing. I flipped over onto my back and looked up at my mother's face as she stood above me, her blue eyes glowed with cruelty and murder, a drop of blood dripped from her right hand as she raised it. The scarlet fluid landed perfectly on my forehead where it stayed for a moment before rolling down the left side of my head, leaving a sticky trail behind.

Blood.

That was the only thing that I was focused on. None of them had been bleeding. I was sure of it. So how did she have blood on her hands? I replayed the brief fight, (well what had happened of it so far) in my head and came up blank. She hadn't cut Derek, Scott or Isaac and currently they were the only ones that had attacked her, along with me.

Me.

I literally felt the blood drain from my face at the realisation. Even though I couldn't see it, I had the sudden feeling that I'd been stabbed in the back.

Which I actually had been.

As she leaned down over me with her hand extended, I knew she was going to kill me. I also knew there was nothing I could do to stop it. And for some reason I was ok with. I didn't have all the answers that I wanted, but the ones I had would have to do.

As she got closer, my heart beat faster but my mind slowed down, everything got clearer and some things started falling into place, pieces of the puzzle clicking together, starting to form the full picture. She was suddenly hurled to the side and then my mind snapped back to its normal place, standing up I watched as the alpha that looked like my father throw my mother to the other side of the clearing.

My eyes widened as she slumped to the ground, her chin falling onto her chest, arms spread out beside her. For a moment I thought she was dead, but then her head slowly lifted itself up and she stood, taking a few shaky steps forward before regaining her strength and sprinting towards the alpha who met her head on, the two grappling, destroying flowers as the fought.

Glancing around I saw that Derek had regained his feet, Scott and Isaac not far behind, they looked ready to help out the alpha but as they surged forward, something sent them flying back. Angelique. The pesky ghost obviously had some tricks up her sleeve.

The sound of her giggling enveloped the clearing and the three werewolves looked around, each one searching for the half-transparent form of the little girl.

A shiver ran through me and cold enveloped me, goose bumps rippled along my arms as my feet started to move on their own. My left foot stepped forward, then my right and soon I was running towards where they were standing, still searching for Angelique.

Angelique.

She was a ghost. The tales said that ghosts could possess people without them even knowing it. Well, I guess I did this time. I stared in horror as my clawed hand raised as I got closer and closer to Derek. I tried to open my mouth and yell at him to get away, but for some reason I couldn't.

Malicious glee suddenly spread through my body as I stared, helpless as my own hand came swiping across, slicing Derek's arm open. Jumping backwards his teeth bared in a snarl, but he frowned as he saw that it was me.

I could tell that he was trying to figure out what the hell was going on, Scott and Isaac were trying to do the same. I wanted to yell at them to go away and as I tried to open my mouth, it actually did, but when I went to speak, it wasn't my voice that came out.

The nine year old voice of my sister came out and it didn't say what I wanted it to.

"Better run! Better hide! Don't wanna die!" it giggled, the sound made me cringe and although I knew it was useless, I tried once more to speak and tell them that they should start running in the other direction and not look back.

"You're not Kayla" Scott muttered all of a sudden. I wanted to take control of my body and wack him over the head, of course I wasn't myself! Idiot.

"Haha nnnooooo. It is me. It's Kayla" Angelique said tauntingly, her voice dripped with sarcasm and I felt myself place a hand on my hip,

"It's Angelique!" Derek whispered, realisation lighting his eyes. Good, now that he knew, he could run away and take the others with him. They could get away and be safe. But clearly Derek had something else in mind as he lunged forward, barrelling right into me.

My body flew backwards, arms windmilling, this was going to hurt. And it sure as hell did, it was just lucky I hadn't broken a bone with the way I'd landed. Clearly Angelique didn't have very good reflexes,

"Get. Out. Of. Her!" Derek hissed in my face, leaning down close, a stubborn shake of my head made him growl and then, grabbing my hands, pinned them above my head, straddling my stomach, Angelique's weak attempts to get out of the hold were useless.

"GET OUT OF HER!" he yelled, shaking my hands roughly, the shaking of my hands caused an uncomfortable pain to rise up in my shoulders and my head shook from side to side. At least she had the sense to not fight that.

"No!" Angelique's voice rang out, my face twisted into a glare as she projected every ounce of hatred she could towards Derek as he stared down at her.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING DEREK!?" Lydia's shrill voice rang through the clearing and fear spiked through me, if Lydia was here, so where the others which meant even more of them were going to get hurt.

This was bad. So very bad.

Ignoring the cries of the others as they tried to push past Scott and Isaac who were trying to keep them back and explain to them what was going on.

"Get out of her or I swear to god…" Derek threatened, but he didn't get to finish,
"Or you'll what? Hurt me? How are you going to do that if I'm in her body? Hmmm. You wouldn't hurt Kayla would you?"

"Of course not!"

"That's what I thought now…..Wait. Oohhhh this is good. Why didn't you say something sis'?" Angelique's voice suddenly grew with interest.

"What are you talking about?" Derek hissed,

"She didn't tell me she had a new boyfriend. Gone so long and she doesn't share a thing like that with her sister." She admonished.

Somehow Lydia had gotten past them and was about to tear Derek off me when Scott began dragging her back, ignoring her screams of protest,

"Well, I guess I'll leave you two alone" Angelique giggled and suddenly I was in control of my body. My head turned and my eyes watched as Lydia suddenly went slack in Scott's arms, but then looked up, her eyes blinking for a few seconds as Angelique familiarised herself with the new body she was in before she broke free of the stunned werewolf's hold and fled into the tree's.

Great, this was just perfect.

The alpha flew back, his momentary fight that had been forgotten now back in full view. He landed close beside me, eyes glazed and mouth hanging open, blood trailing from it and one side of his face blooming red.

No wonder the alpha had looked so much like my father. Because he was my father.

Well, this was bad.

Lydia had been possessed. Angelique had gotten away. My father was knocked out. My mother was advancing on us with murder in her eyes. And I was about to faint.

Perfect.
