"I don't think I can be with you anymore." as Sona said that she felt a slight ting of pain and regret when that thought came out from her. She didn't want her friendship to end with her, but it had to be. They were two different people: a normal person and a criminal. Sona just couldn't' be involved with someone who commits illeg-
"Sorry, wasn't paying attention, I got lost trying to find my bank. What did you say again?" asked Jinx.
"I said that I ca- wait...did you say bank? I thought we just been to one?"
"Oh, yeah! This is my bank bank, the best bank ever. The top rated bank that knows what I want. It has all the money that I need. It's my main bank, duh.
"I'm really confused...what?"
"Ughhh, here just follow me, and you shall see." Jinx grabbed Sona by the hand as they ran off to the outskirts of Piltover. Every few blocks, the city became less and less grander than it was. The buildings were rundown, small shops everywhere, a little dirtier than usual, and the people looked not-so-well dressed, compared to the people before in Piltover. Sona wondered if this is also part of Piltover. If so, why didn't it look as great.
"Awwww, here we are. The slums of Piltover...what a great place. You can get the greatest and cheapest food here, less police to bother you, and the people here are really nice to you. Top of the morning to you, fellow."
"Bite me bitch!" he yelled back.
"Okay!" Jinx blew him up with her rocket launcher. "Maybe some people are nice."
"So where is this "main" bank of yours anyways? We're not going to rob another one are we?" asked Sona.
"It's everywhere!"
"I'm really confused right now."
"This is how it works." Jinx went up to a random homeless person. "Give me all of your change, or I will shoot you."
"Please, please! Here, take it all, just don't shoot!" cried the homeless man in the alleyway. Sona was shocked at what she was seeing. Jinx was robbing a homeless guy in plain sight. Sona was getting real furious at her behavior lately. This couldn't go on any longer. She had to intervene.
"STOP THAT THIS INS-tant?" Sona was beyond than shocked at what she saw next.
"Here take this." Jinx dropped a stack of bills into his hat. "This is a good haul of coins you got here. Pleasure doing business with you, good sir."
"But...but this is more than you gave me." said the homeless man.
"Are you dumb? Coins are so much better than paper money. Besides, you know what they will take at the arcade? Coins only!"
Sona was still befuddled. Jinx kept trading stacks of bills for a handful of change. Some of them she had to threaten with a gun to give up their change, but she quelled their anger with cash. This kept going on and on until she was left with a few stacks of bills and a bagful of coins. Sona was wondering if Jinx was either bad with money, or actually really nice inside. She knew Jinx was smarter to know the currency of the land, which is why she was really happy for her. She was still doubtful of her leaving Jinx.
"Finally, the last stop." Jinx and Sona stopped in front what looked like a rundown elementary school. It had childish paintings all over the building. There was a playground in the back.
"What are we doing here, Jinx?"
"This is my place where I deposit my money. Jeez, don't you know how bank works?" Jinx complained. Jinx then yelled out at the top of her lungs "I'M HEEEEERRREEEEEE!" The sound of scuffling feet could be heard. Then, the doors bursted open
"SHE'S HERE! SHE'S HERE! JINX'S HERE! JINX'S HERE!" a classroom of children ran up to her and surrounded here. They appeared glad to see Jinx with them. Apparently, she was well-liked and famous to these kids.
"Hey, you little munchkins! How long has it been? Did you grow taller? And did you get stronger? No, get tough you little shits!" But her language around them might need some work.
"We saw you on TV! The explosions were sooooo cool. Got anything cool to show us? Who's that pretty lady with ya?" Sona blushed at that kid's comment. Another person, came walking through the doors.
"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged back here." She was an older lady that looked to be in her 40's, smoking a cigarette and giving Jinx an evil eye. "What kind of shit-for-brains makes a whole mess of the city. Blowing up buildings, crashing a party, running amok in the city, and kidnapping an innocent lady."
"Well, I have you know that she's not kidnapped. She's my friend right next to me. Sona, this is the caretaker of this place, Old Lady Agnete."
"I ain't old, ya damn fool!" Don't forget I took care of your sorry ass when you were small. You have got to stop doing whatever you please. Sooner or later, your ass will be dead, ya hear me? Agnete said.
"Hmmm, say something? Oh look, I'm opening up my box of care! Oh wait, it's empty? She mimed opening a box.
"So what are you doing here anyways? Convince these brats to jump off a bridge? Destroy another building? Or you just want me to meet your girlfriend of yours?" Agnete joked. Sona blushed at that comment.
"No, you idiot!" I'm here to play with the kids. "Now go away, while I have some fun." She ran away from them both and ran up to the kids at the park. "Alrighty who wants to play with Fishbones and me?"
"Yay, it's Fishbones!"
"That's Mr. Fishbones, to you." ventriloquism by Jinx.
"That damn brat will be the death of me someday. I need another cig." complained Agnete. Now it was just her and Sona alone. "Oi bimbo with the big breasts, are ya kidnapped or something?"
"N-no I'm not." blushed Jinx again. "I'm her friend...I think."
"Ya think?" questioned Agnete. "Speaking through thoughts, that's something new. Especially a fancy kingdom girl like you."
"Well, it's kinda complicated. Earlier today, I thought about getting away from her from all the criminal stuff she did over the last couple of days."
"Yea, she's definitely a pain in the ass, I tell ya. Raising her was tough."
"Are you her mother, by any chance." asked Sona.
"Hell no. A destructive force like that could be said something about her real parents."
"What happened to them?"
"Hell if I know. One night, I find this small child in front on these doorsteps wrapped in a blanket and next to her was that same rocket launcher she has with her now. I mean what kind of parents would leave a rocket launcher shark with a baby, totally irresponsible."
"She's just like me then. I was abandoned as a baby in front of an Ionian adoption home with just my ethwahl."
"Hmmm, two girls with blue hair and tragic backstory. Let me ask you something. How long have you known Jinx."
"For about 3 days."
"Has she every blown you up or shot you, yet?"
"N-no she hasn't."
"Well, either I'm hearing things, or for the first time in a long ass time, Jinx has found some-sort of friend."
"But am I really her friend?"
"Of course you are silly. I mean for starters, you aren't dead or shot. She's never been this happy since the day she left this place on her own, or discovered the destructive powers of a rocket launch, which I soulfully regret letting her touch it."
"What about me? I'm still questioning on whether I should be with a criminal or not. I'm confused everyday on what she does. First, she's doing something nice, then something that involves the police. The truth is I don't want to do things that I will regret and end up hurting people around me."
Agnete thought hard about what was going through Sona's mind. "Well, let me tell you something about her. Jinx has never blown up a hospital, school, or adoption agencies. She said something about not blowing up buildings that benefit the city. Anything she does, people say is an act of terrorism, but to her, it's all for fun. Jinx does whatever she wants. She's just a child at heart, with a full arsenal on her. I don't know if you want to stay with her or not, but I thought it would be helpful if you knew more about her."
"Thanks, Agnete. This really opened up my eyes on who Jinx really is." Sona was full of confidence on her decision. She smiled, "I would like to keep on being her friend, and I would like to get to know more about her. I never realized how many times she has protected me, even though some was kinda her fault. I would like to be best friends with her. Everyday with her is so much fun."
"Will you stay by her side forever then?" asked Agnete.
"Of course."
"Well, why don't you marry her then. Hahaha, you sound like a lover than a friend."
"W-w-wha-what!? N-n-n-no I don't" blushed Sona, hoping it was the last time.
"I'm just teasing ya. Well, go on and join them. Looks like she's looking for ya."
"Please, don't tease me anymore." pouted Sona. She was about to join Jinx and the children, until Agnete stopped her.
"One more thing."
"Yes?"
"Take care of each other, will ya?" asked Agnete.
"I will, because me and Jinx are best friends." Sona went off to join them. Agnete knew that by looking at the two, nothing could separate them.
"Where were you?" I was telling all these kid about the adventures we had. "What were you talking bout with that old hag over there?"
"Just stuff about me and Jinx being really good friends."
"Huh, no wonder, It's been awhile since I've seen her smile like that. Maybe I should blow up more buildings." Sona facepalmed.
"Hey hey. Are you the one that Jinx talks about? Jinx said you're awesome when playing music."
Sona was happy that a bunch of children wanted to hear her play, "I would...but..." but she remembered something terrible happened to her beloved etwahl. Draven smashed her instrument before she got to play for her audience. Now, she wishes she had it. Jinx noticed that same sullen look Sona had before.
"Hey did you guys know that me and Sona are gonna treat you guys to ice cream."
"Really? That's so cool. I want chocolate. Yay! Thanks Jinx and Sona!" seeing the children happy like this cheered Sona a bit.
"Okay! Who wants to go with us to help us carry the treats?"
"ME! ME! ME! ME!" all the children screamed.
"Settle down, we can't watch all of you outside the home."
A little girl went up to Sona and pulled on her pants. "What can I do for you, sweetie? Do you want to come with us?"
The girl swayed her head. "Nuh uh. There's a girl whose really sad inside. I think she needs cheering up.
Then all the children hopped on that idea. "Yeah. She yells a lot, saying she lost something. You gotta do something to calm her down. She's been mad all day.
"Don't worry. Team Put-on-a-smile-on-every-children is on it. Where is she?" asked Jinx, up for a challenge.
"I think she's coming out now. You can see all the smoke coming out of the building. Uh oh, she's furious again. We gotta get out. She sets fires everywhere she goes.
"Wait? There's a little girl starting fires?"
Agnete just noticed the smoke and fire coming from inside the building. "Aw geez, not this shit again. Somebody find me a goddam fire extinguisher."
Suddenly, the door bursted open with hot flames behind her, "HAS ANYBODY SEEN MY TIBBERS?"
A/N: Finally updated. Thanks for the reviews. I have some interesting chapter ideas planned for the future. If you like, I'll listen to any suggestions you guys have. Trivia note, the caretaker, Agnete, is the name of the singer of the band, Djerv. Her full name is Agnete Kjølsrud. Anyways, expect the next chapter around a week or so.
