'Is there a right way for how this goes…' the words floated through my headphones and to my ears, the song by sleeping with sirens being one of my favourites.

'You got your friends and you got your foes…' I mouthed the words as I worked, my eyes trained on the notebook in front of me, pen tapping against the blank page.

I had a report due for school in two days and I had no idea how to even start on it. The thing we had to write about was our happiest memory and how it had changed us and/or made our life better. I had no idea what to write about. Sure I had some happy memories, well I used to. They'd all been tainted with the information that I'd learnt about my parents.

So that left any I had with my friends. The pack.

"Watcha doing'?" both ear buds were pulled out of my ears, interrupting the song,

"I'm trying to do the English assignment" I sighed, grabbing the ear buds back and pausing the song,

"Done mine already" Lydia replied sitting down next to me.

"Really?" I asked stunned that someone had actually already finished the assignment, out of all the people I knew, none of them had finished yet, but they'd all started.

"Yeah, it was easy" Lydia said, holding out a hand and looking at her perfectly round nails that were coated with a shiny layer of red nail polish,

"Hey guys" another pack member arrived. Stiles. Scott wasn't too far behind him. The table I was sitting at had suddenly gotten a lot more crowded,

"Hey" Lydia greeted, looking up from her nails for a second to greet them.
"What's going on?" another person joined the group, Allison pulled a chair from a nearby table and sat beside Scott,

"Well I was working on my English assignment before you all showed up" I muttered, closing the note book and dropping the pen onto the table.

"Not that you'd started yet" yet another new voice came into the conversation, this one was one that I hadn't been expecting to hear. Peter.

"Peter. What are you doing here?" although I asked the question, the curiosity to know was clear to see on everyone's faces,

"Just checking in that's all" it was obvious that he was lying.

"And what's the real reason?" Lydia's voice was short and sharp, clearly there was some sort of tension I hadn't picked up on previously between them,

"Derek sent me to babysit you" he sighed looking at me,

"Why do I need babysitting?"

"Oh, you haven't kept up on the schedule. Full moon again tonight" Peter said, for some reason he looked excited about it.

"But I found my anchor…I thought I didn't need to worry about that now" I was a bit confused, I thought the whole point of an anchor was exactly that, they would anchor you so that you didn't have to worry about changing,

"Well technically no, but it's only your second full moon and your first full one with your anchor. Better to be safe than sorry"

"Why can't Derek be there?" I'd rather have him there over Peter, well anyone else if I was being completely honest.

"Why hhhmmmm? You want something more to happen?" Lydia's voice was suggestive and the way she looked at me made my skin turn red,

"NO!" I practically shouted which made everyone laugh,

"I'd just rather not have a sociopath make sure I don't kill anyone" I retorted, coming up with the perfect come back which I shot at Peter with a grin.

"Oh that's harsh. I'll have you know I am not a sociopath" Peter replied evenly, taking the insult well,

"But seriously, you two are A – DOOOORRRR – AABLE!" Lydia's voice rose in pitch on the adorable, her eyes shining with delight.

"Shut up" I hissed,

"She's right though. Derek is a lot happier now that you're here" Scott added, saying something for the first time since he got to the table,

"If Derek's so happy now…what was he like beforehand?" I asked in mock horror, ignoring the fact that I didn't actually deny it.

"You have no idea" Peter said, his head shaking from side to side slowly.

"YOU TWO NEED A SHIP NAME!" Lydia suddenly said, her hands flinging themselves onto the table with a light 'wack!'

"A ship name?" I asked, having no idea what that was,

"A ship name!" Lydia repeated excitedly, clearly not understanding that I had no idea what she was talking about.

"A ship name is the name that people come up with by combining the names of people they want to get together, or are together" Allison explained to me,

"Their ship name is Scallison!" Lydia said, pointing to Scott and Allison,

"And theirs would be Stydia" Allison said, motioning to Stiles and Lydia.

"And there is Sterek of course. The perfect match" said no one.

"What would yours be with Derek?" Lydia snatched my notebook away from me and began scribbling in it, despite my cry of protest,

"You're seriously going to come up with a ship name for us?" I asked, watching as Allison started pitching in some ideas. They all sounded horrible to me.

"Yes she seriously is" Peter muttered, watching her wide eyed as well,

"Ok! The best names are Kaylek, Dayla, Kerek and Derayla" Lydia said, then looked up at me,

"I'll let you choose which one you want" she continued, awaiting my response eagerly.

"Derayla? Sounds like the evil ugly step sister or something" I hissed, already getting tired of this whole ship name thing,

"Yes it does" Stiles agreed which earned him a glare from Lydia,

"Not Derayla then" she crossed the name off of the list.

"Dayla sounds weird" I continued, the name was crossed off,

"And Kerek….is well, just no" that left one name. Kaylek.

"Kaylek it is!" Allison said, high fiving Lydia who was grinning like mad,

"Mayaswell do our last names to" I said. It was meant to be a joke, but the look in Lydia's eyes told me she was going to do it anyway, just because she could.

"Oh no what did you do?" Peter hissed as Lydia's hand flew across the page again, writing down more combinations of our last names.

"Ok you don't get a choice in this one. The ship for your last names is Lucale" she said, looking up from the page,

"Lucale. Not too bad" I agreed, repeating the name in my head a few times.

"Kaylek Lucale" Allison agreed, saying the full name herself.

"Time to go Kayla" Peter said and with a sigh I said good bye and then left with Peter, sincerely wishing that Derek was going to be there instead,

"So Kaylek Lucale hey?" the tease would normally of made me glare, but not this time. I was warming up to the ship name.

I knew I'd passed out the moment I regained consciousness, I didn't remember why though.

"And she's back" the voice came from near my feet so I opened my eyes, looking down the length of my body to where Derek was standing, looking down at me.

"I still need practice controlling it?" I guessed, not moving from where I was lying,

"Yeah pretty much. But that is easy to work on don't worry" he said, then offered a hand to help me up.

I took it, holding it a second longer than I really needed to.

"So Kaylek Lucale hey?" the three words made my ears go hot,

"You heard then. Lydia's crazy" I said, not meeting his eye as I stared down at my bare feet,

"I was wondering when she'd come up with a ship name for us" he said.

"Us? You mean…..there….there is an us?" the words got caught in my throat as they came out,

"Hasn't there always been?"
