I'm going to start by apologizing for this taking so long. It's been written since I posted the last one, but some stuff's gone down recently and I just completely forgot about it to be honest. But thank you all for your reviews and favorites and etc.
So for those of you who read this and would actually like to know, I've recently discovered that I have Social Anxiety Disorder. And because of this I've learned some stuff about my family, which is obviously private..
I go back to school Thursday and it's my final year so I'm probably not gonna have that much time to write, but I will try my best to update as soon as I can. And I want to thank you all for putting up with me. You're all awesome and I love you all!
Now you can probably guess what this chapter is about by the name.. It's finally here! And I hope you all like it!
Without further ado, Mr. Damon Salvatore.

~ Damon, Stefan and Co. ~

"Wait. You want to do what?!" Damon winced as Elena screeched her disapproval, suddenly regretting informing Elena and Stefan of their new plan.

"I was trying to explain before you interrupted me, Princess." Damon gritted his teeth. Elena was really trying his patience right now. "So, while I was reading through Redbird's diary-" Damon held up his hand when Elena was about to protest. "- I came across a part from when Elena was dead." Everyone visibly flinched. "I figured that if ghosty-Elena and Klaus could get inside Bonnie's unconscious little head, then why couldn't I? And let's face it, out of those of us here that still have telekinetic abilities-" He looked directly at Stefan. "- I think I'm the more trustworthy option. Besides that, I have the best connection to her. Her mind is more likely to let me through."

Stefan had the decency to look ashamed. "He's right, and I agree. This could actually work."

"Seriously?!" Elena stared incredulously at Stefan and then at the rest of her friends. "You guys are really trusting Damon inside Bonnie's head?"

"Yes Elena. We are." Meredith spat rather harshly. Elena looked taken aback. "It's not like we could trust you and Stefan, even if you still had your angel powers. Damon has saved Bonnie's life countless times and I agree with him that he obviously has her best interests at heart. And besides, you know how much Bonnie loves him, and if she really does blame herself for his death who better than to draw her out than Damon?" Meredith took a breath to calm herself. "Look, we're going to do this whether you agree or not because right now it's all we've got. So could you please just stop trying to argue with us and help us out?"

Elena said nothing at first, but then nodded her head in agreement and spoke. "You're right. I'm sorry. Damon being back is still a shock and I feel so bad for how I treated Bonnie that I can't really think straight." She gave a tentative smile. "I should have known that she would take it even worse than we did. I should have been there for her. I let her down, but I'm not going to let her down anymore!" She spoke with a determination that they hadn't heard from her in a long time. It brought a smile to Meredith's face despite herself. "We're going to get her out of there and she's going to see that Damon's alive and she's going to be so happy. Right let's get to work! What do we do first?"

And just like that Elena was back to her usual self.

Ms. Flowers had set up candles around the room as well as a few bowls of burning herbs. Apparently they were supposed to help, but Damon was a little sceptical. He was sitting on the edge of the bed simply waiting for the go ahead. Ms. Flowers was rambling around the room, waving the smoke from the herbs around and chanting something. Everyone else seemed to hover in the corners of the room, trying to stay out of the old witch's way. No spoke a word for fear of interrupting.

After several minutes, Ms. Flowers finally came to a stop. She smiled to herself and turned to Damon. "Well. I think you are good to go dear."

Damon just nodded. He sat back against the headboard and resumed the same position he seemed to find himself in a lot recently. He pulled Bonnie up into his arms, only this time he curled around her like a protective ball. He closed his eyes and whispered, "Well, here goes…" He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before diving into the abyss.

It was the strangest sensation, being inside Bonnie's head. Even though it was dark from abandonment, there seemed to be light and colour everywhere. It felt safe. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted from Damon - body and soul. Damon couldn't explain it. It was like nothing he'd ever experienced before and he lost himself in awe for a few moments. Of course Bonnie's mind would be beautiful and unique. Damon felt that he should have expected something like this.

He shook himself out of his daze and decided that he should begin his search. It was difficult, to say the least. Bonnie seemed to be everywhere and yet nowhere at all. He was walking through endless darkness, searching for something that was all around him and yet nowhere to be found. He was beginning to feel like he was back on that dreaded moon again walking through miles of nothing in search of something different.

Just as he was about to give up something flashed in his peripheral vision. Turning, he saw that it was a tiny glowing light. Overjoyed, he began to run towards it. As he got closer the light expanded until it consumed him. Then, Damon fell.

It was so bright. He was freefalling, but all he could see was a blinding white light all around him. Suddenly the light was gone and he fell face first into a solid ground. Groaning, Damon tried to gather himself and figure out what had just happened. Something was tickling his face and losing his patience with it he raised his head only to realize that it was grass. Grass? Damon was more confused than ever.

Sitting up, he gazed at the wide expanse of grass. It was everywhere. It stretched on for miles in every direction. Except one. Up ahead a few miles down large the field Damon could see a small shack-like structure. How peculiar…

Damon stood and strolled through the grass. Oh. There was an assortment of colours scattered randomly throughout the grass. Walking up to one Damon realized that it was a flower. Odd. Upon closer inspection he realized that the flower was made of paper. Even more peculiar… This didn't make any sense. Where was Bonnie? And what was with all the paper flowers? The only way to get answers was to go to the shack and that is exactly what he did.

Suddenly, there was a movement to his right. Damon whipped around and was greeted by the most wonderful sight. There was Bonnie, in all her innocent glory, skipping through the flowers, humming a tune to herself. It was a good thing Damon didn't need to breathe because he was sure that in that moment he would have been breathless. Bonnie really was beautiful. He had always known, but he had never truly noticed how truly beautiful she was until this very moment. Her scarlet curls fluttered around her as she danced through the grass and even from this distance he could see how her doe brown eyes sparkled in pure delight. Damon was abruptly struck with the realization that he had never seen Bonnie this happy. The thought caused a strange pang in his chest.

She must have noticed him while he was caught up in his thoughts because suddenly she was bounding over to him looking excited. This knocked Damon out of his own thoughts. He moved swiftly, pulling her into his arms and burying his head in the curls surrounding the porcelain skin of her neck. He inhaled deeply, breathing in her scent. She still smelled like strawberries. Bonnie giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck as he held her in his vice-like grip.

Damon could feel a strange cracking sensation within his chest. He quickly released the small girl once he realized what was happening. No. Not again. How does she always seem to do that?!

Lifting his hand he stroked the hair away from her face and simply let himself stare at her. He stroked his thumb over her features. Over an eyebrow. Across an eyelid. Down her button nose. Across her check. Finally, to her plump rosy lips. They parted slightly as she gasped in a breath and her eyes fluttered. Damon couldn't help the smirk that escaped his lips. He loved that he still had this effect on her. He let his hand slide down her neck before coming to rest against his side once again.

Her eyes fluttered open and when she seemed to come back to herself she blushed. "Sorry." She spoke softly and looked away shyly biting her lip. Damon's smirk turned into a full blown smile then. Still the same old Bonnie. For some reason this thought brought him relief. Had he been expecting differently?

When Bonnie looked back at him she was smiling widely yet again. "I'm so glad that you're here." She said excitedly. He was caught off guard when she surged forward to grab his hand and pull him after her as she hiked in the direction of the shack. "C'mon." She chirped enthusiastically. "You have no idea how lonely it gets here. Usually it's just me and the girl in the mirror." Bonnie rambled.

The girl in the mirror? Is she talking about her reflection? Damon was getting confused again, but his thoughts were cut off and he focused on making it up the rickety steps leading up to the small porch attached to the shack. Bonnie came to a stop on the porch and turned to look out over the field with awe filled eyes. Damon turned too. It truly was a beautiful sight. This brought a previous question to his mind.

"Why are the flowers made of paper?" He looked to her in anticipation of her reply.

"Because I made them that way, silly." She giggled to herself.

"You made them?" Damon's eyes were the size of saucers.

"Sure! Just like this. Watch!" She scrambled down the steps of the shack. She walked forward and squatted down in the tall grass. She turned in Damon's direction and placed a hand firmly on the ground. Damon stared at her in confusion. She closed her eyes and Damon's eyes widened even more as she watched the light that shot from her palm. As she raised her hand he observed as a flower appeared out of the light. She opened her eyes and clapped her hands in glee before looking up at Damon eagerly. "See!"

Damon rained in his shock. This was Bonnie! So she had gotten a little more powerful, that was to be expected he supposed. "Impressive." Bonnie looked elated. She bounded back up the steps to him. "But you never actually answered my first question. Why are they made of paper?"

Bonnie looked up at him and frowned. "I… I don't… I don't know… I've never really thought about it before…"

"Okay… Try this." Damon spoke softly. He hated to see her with anything but a smile on her face. He raised his hands to cup her cheeks. "Now, close your eyes and relax. Clear your mind and when I ask again, just speak the first thing that pops into your head. Okay?" Bonnie complied and nodded her head when he finished. "Okay… Why are the flowers made of paper?"

Bonnie's answer was immediate. "So that they can't die…" She whispered. Damon stiffened and slowly dropped his hands. He had not been expecting that answer. An unknown feeling swelled inside his chest again. Bonnie didn't seem to notice Damon's discomfort though. She looked confused by her own answer.

"Huh…" She shrugged and seem to shake it off. When she returned her gaze to Damon her face shifted into horror, then embarrassment. Damon panicked.

"What? What is it?" He took a step back and scanned her features frantically. He didn't know what he had done wrong.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" Bonnie rushed out anxiously. "Where are my manners?" She huffed, but turned to beam in Damon's direction and held out her hand. "Hi. I'm Bonnie! What's your name?"

Dun dun duuuunnnnn! Okay, so I'm sorry about leaving you all on a cliffhanger (sort of), but I bet you weren't expecting that.
Also, sorry for the monster of a AN at the start, but I just wanted you all to know that I haven't abandoned this story or lost interest or anything. I may have slight writers block right now as well as everything else, but this story will be continued don't worry.
Thank you all once again for your time and I hope you liked it. (And reviews will be greatly appreciated) ;)
Until next time y'all!
