Hey everybody!
Okay so... It's been a while... Oops! I did try to get this written sooner, but I hit writers block once again and I couldn't decide where I wanted this story to go next. And finally I figure out what to do and then I needed to do research and stuff. But, I'm finished school and I'm taking a break before I go to university next year so hopefully I'll have more time to write and I might actually get this story finished. (I've never managed to finish and multi-chapter fic)
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Ladies and gents, Mr. Stefan Salvatore and his comrades.
~ Stefan and Co. ~
Adélaïde accepted the cup from Ms. Flowers and offered a nervous smile in return. She shuffled uncomfortably in her seat and glanced over to Stefan, who was intensely staring at her from where he was sat next to Elena on the adjacent couch. She coughed awkwardly and returned to sipping her tea delicately while Ms. Flowers handed some out to the others.
Now that the commotion had died down, Elena took a real look at their mysterious visitor. Superficially she looked about seventeen, but she had that same air of other-worldliness that Stefan and Damon possessed that told of her true age. She was wearing what appeared to be a very high end pale pink skirt suit. She must have noticed Elena's interest as she smiled and addressed Elena before returning to her tea once more. "It's Chanel." French. That explains a lot. Although with a name like Adélaïde de Fontaine, that should have been obvious, Elena thinks to herself. Adélaïde had smooth caramel skin and long, wavy, raven-black hair that fell to her waist. It was pulled back at the sides and fastened with a gold, diamond encrusted butterfly pin at the back of her head. Her hair colour was actually very similar to Damon and Stefan's, and now that she thought about it Elena realised that if it wasn't for Adélaïde's bright blue-grey eyes she could be Stefan's twin. The resemblance was uncanny and a little unnerving. She even had that sophistication about her that, like the Salvatore's, told of her affluent upbringing.
"So, Adélaïde de Fontaine… Care to explain now." Stefan honestly didn't mean to sound as rude as he did, but this stranger unnerved him. He could not recall why her name sounded so familiar to him, and Elena was not the only one who had noticed the resemblance. "Sorry, I do not mean to sound so rude."
"It is perfectly alright. I understand your confusion and unease. The resemblance is quite striking, is it not?" Elena and Stefan were struck dumb by the comment. "Yes, you are not the only ones who have noticed. Your friends have too I believe." She glimpsed over to where Meredith and Matt were glancing between Stefan and Adélaïde. "I will admit that I was not aware of it before just now, when we met, but I find that a lot of things make more sense now." She looked as if she were reminiscing. "She told me a lot about you. She spoke of not much else, to be honest. It is strange to be sitting here in front of you now after all this time."
Coming back to his senses, Stefan noticed the 'she' in the story. A horrible sense of foreboding overtook him, but he had to ask. "Who is it that spoke of me? If you do not mind my asking." Elena, oblivious of Stefan's dread, couldn't help a slight grin at Stefan's unconscious use of a more formal tone with the other vampire.
"Oh, I am dreadfully sorry. I had presumed that she had found you. When she left she made it quite clear that she wished to return to you. Though I suppose she most likely would not have mentioned me anyway. I speak of my sire, Katherine von Swartzschild." Elena's face fell, and out of her peripheral vision she could see that Meredith and Matt had similar expressions. Stefan however, who had been expecting the answer simply looked amazed by the vampire sitting across from him. Elena felt a slight stab of jealousy. "In a way, Mr. Salvatore, you could say I am, in fact, your sister."

~ Damon ~
Damon felt as he was smacked back into his own head once again. What the hell was that?! It was Bonnie, but it wasn't Bonnie. And she remembered me! Who–
Damon was suddenly pulled from his thoughts as an unfamiliar scent invaded his nostrils and suddenly he found himself in the living room doorway glaring and snarling at the unfamiliar vampire. Faster than anyone in the room could comprehend, he had Adélaïde up against the wall by the throat. He could vaguely hear Stefan yelling at him, but he was more concerned with the current threat to Bonnie that he held against the wall. Oddly, the stranger didn't even flinch. She remained perfectly still and calm in Damon's grasp. As he now took a closer look a flash of memory invaded his conscious - Paris in the 1500's some sort of war, and he knew exactly who she was. She smiled kindly at him when she noticed that she had his level-headed attention. She knew he would remember her. Stefan would not, but Damon never forgot a face.
"You must be Damon." She spoke smoothly. "Lady Katherine spoke quite a lot of you also. As did Sage."
"Wait, you know Sage?" Meredith inquired.
"My dear, I do not think there is a vampire alive that does not know of Sage. But personally, as you implied, yes." She turned back to Damon, his hand still firmly around her neck. "May I be put down now?" Damon, upon realising that he was still holding her up, quickly dropped her back to her feet.
Adélaïde returned to her previous seat and gracefully perched herself in it once more, glancing at the group as they also returned to their seats – Damon now resting on the back of the couch behind Stefan and Elena. "Sage was like a father to me. Once Lady Katherine tired of me and left, I was alone and confused with very little knowledge of this new world I had been thrust into. Now, when I look back I feel ashamed of the monster I became with no sire to guide me." She looked uncomfortable mentioning that particular titbit about her past. "I was causing quite a stir in Western Europe when Sage was dispatched to "handle the problem". Though once he found me and discovered how scared and confused I was, he could not end my life simply because of the carelessness of my creator." She seemed to share a shy smile with us then. "He was very kind to me. He took responsibility for me when his superiors discovered what he had done and just who I was. He fed me, cared for me and trained me in the ways of the world and taught me to fend for myself though I admit I was reluctant to leave him." She looked up at them then and Elena swears that if vampires could blush, Adélaïde would be at that moment.
"So you stayed with Sage? How is it that Damon never met you then? And you were not with him when he was aiding us back in the Dark Dimension." Meredith spoke up for the first time. She was suspicious when Adélaïde first turned up, but she had to admit that the more the stranger told them the more intrigued she was becoming.
"I stayed with Sage for, perhaps a century or two. I must say I cannot quite recall time very well. Though once the rumours and stories of my disappearance died down, I no longer needed to obey the same level of secretiveness of my existence. I decided shortly after that that I needed to get out and explore the world I had never seen but always heard of. I tried to convince Sage to accompany me, but alas, he had duties and he believed that I needed to become independent of him, that I was too reliant on him and the safety he represented. I realise now that he was right though at the time I resented him for it and left with a few choice words I wish I had never uttered.
I have not seen him since. I was always too ashamed of my behaviour to return to him. I could not stand the thought of returning to him just to be sent away again because of the way I behaved as a child." Everyone in the room could tell that this subject made her sad, the look of melancholy in her eyes was heart-breaking and Damon thought that if Bonnie was here she'd be in tears herself and throwing herself at the sad stranger in an effort to comfort her – and this thought brought the same melancholy to Damon's eyes.
"Sage is not a vindictive person, he is a gentle soul. I'm sure he would forgive you." The group turned to Damon in surprise at the gentle words that left his mouth directed at the stranger.
Adélaïde smiled gratefully back at him. "Still, I find that it is a quite daunting task of one to apologise for one's mistakes when it comes to those they love, especially if one is quite a proud soul. Don't you agree Damon?" Adélaïde had seen the same sadness in Damon's eyes as she spoke of Sage, she was almost certain it concerned the little witch that he protected so attentively. Damon could feel the others curious gazes on him as he answered softly. "Yes, I suppose it is."
Stefan watched his brother closely as Adélaïde gently smiled at him. There was an understanding between the two and Stefan was under no delusions as to what that understanding developed from.
Elena could sense the awkward air begin to settle and decided to divert everyone back to the issue at hand. "So, you mentioned the rumours and stories of your disappearance? What happened to you? If you don't mind my curiosity."
Adélaïde smiled gratefully at Elena. "I do not mind at all, but could it wait until tomorrow perhaps? I have travelled quite a long distance to find you and I am quite tired and hungry."
"Not to worry dear, I have set up a room for you upstairs." Suddenly it seemed Ms. Flowers had reappeared. "I'm sure the others can wait until tomorrow." She gave them all a warning glare, daring them to contradict her. "Matt, dear, can you show our guest up to the spare room? I have left some blood up there for you too dear. I hope you are comfortable."
"Thank you so much for your hospitality. And thank you all for allowing me to explain myself, not everyone is as patient when it comes to a strange new vampire turning up. Now I must bid you all goodnight and I shall retire." She turned to Matt and he got up quickly to show her the way upstairs.

~ Bonnie ~
"Damon!" Bonnie shouted frantically as her new friend disappeared again. "He's gone. Again."
"Bonnie, what? W-Where did he come from? Did you create him?!" Mirror-Bonnie still looked stunned and Bonnie was confused. How did she know Damon's name before she introduced him? Did she know him?
"What? No. He just appeared falling from the sky. Then he disappeared. And then he came out of the trees again and then he disappeared again. How did you know his name? Do you know him?" The excitement in Bonnie's voice was almost palpable.
"I guess you could say that. So, he just appeared out of the sky? What is he doing here? Maybe… No, he's dead. Don't be ridiculous. It's probably just our mind conjuring him up for some reason." Mirror-Bonnie seemed awfully sad and she was talking to herself. People did that when they were sad, didn't they? Bonnie wished she could cheer her up. Just then the television came to life once again.
"Oh! Look! The show is on again! C'mon, lets watch it!" Bonnie practically bounced over to the sofa. Mirror-Bonnie's behaviour forgotten.
On the screen, the same four girls from the last time were in the same parking lot in front of the school building. They looked older. Much older. They were much taller and curvier than the last time. The blond girl, had just arrived and was being quickly surrounded and hugged and greeted by everyone. Bonnie got the impression that she had been away and that they had not seen her in a while.
After the other blonde girl – Caroline, was it? – released the blonde girl the redhead that looked like Bonnie launched herself at her. She was smaller than the rest and her curls bounced as she excitedly embraced her friend. The blonde hugged her back, then she seemed surprised by something.
"Bonnie! What did you do to your hair?"
"Do you like it? I think it makes me look taller."
The scene continued to play out on the screen as Bonnie turned to the mirror. "Her name is Bonnie too! Oh my god. And she looks just like us. What are the odds?" She exclaimed excitedly to Mirror-Bonnie.
"Yeah. What are the odds?..."
So this chapter ended a little less dramatically. What do you guys think of Adélaïde? She was kind of a spur of the moment addition, but I've quite a few plans for her. (*mischievous-suspicious giggles*)
So review and let me know what you thought. More Adélaïde and Bamon in the next chapter and I will try and get that up as soon as possible, I promise!
JessiRocks95 over and out!
P.S. Anyone recognise the latest scene in Bonnie's "show"? ;)
