My heart was pounding. At one point I was terrified that it was going to pop out of my chest. Derek was surrounded. He had at least five people holding guns at him. And another five more. I tried to take a step but it was like my feet were plastered to the floor.

"Chloe," Derek growled. "Don't move." I looked at him; his eyes were full of worry.

"Good the girl's up." One of the men said. "Grab her."

I started to scream but out of nowhere there was another person in the room. Whoever it was put something over my mouth. I heard Derek scream my name and caught a glimpse of him trying to fight his way to me.

I tried to fight my way out of this persons grip but I couldn't. After a while I started to feel like I was fading away. Then everything went black.

The first thing I noticed was that it smelt like a hospital. It was a smell that was not particularly my favorite thing in the world. I was laying on something hard. It felt cold, metal? Whatever it was it wasn't comfortable. I was about to open my eyes until I heard voices in the room with me.

"We took out the werewolf. I know the Commander wanted him alive but it was almost impossible. It was hard enough to get the necromancer out."

Derek was dead? No, he couldn't be. Derek is fine. But I recognized that voice. It was so familiar I just couldn't place it. It was a man's voice, one I used to be around a lot.

"Good, at least you were able to catch the girl. When will she be awake? We have some questions to ask her about the whereabouts of the werewolf's family."

This time it was a woman who was talking. I recognized her voice too. Not as well as the man's but I've heard it before.

"We just sedated her enough so she wouldn't have woken up on the way here. So she should be waking up any moment now."

"Good."

What did they want from me? Why would they kill Derek? I heard the sound of high heels walking out of the room and then the door opening and closing. I figured that it was the woman who left.

I heard the man walking about the room, adjust this, fixing that. Eventually it sounded like he was at the other side of the room, so I opened my eyes.

His back was to me. He was tall and had a heavy look to him. Not like he was "big" but like he had a lot of muscle. I knew him.

He turned around. Michael.

He saw that I was awake and walked to me.

"Chloe, what a pleasure to see you again." He looked exactly the same. Beautiful. He flashed his million dollar smile at me. I decided that I was going to be brave, tough. That is what Derek would've wanted.

"I know, I haven't seen you since I dumped you and you ran me out of my apartment." I smirked the best way I could with the way I was feeling and the energy I didn't have.

"Well, let's say it was a bad break up." He smirked back as there was a knock on the door.

Michael walked to the door and opened it just enough so I couldn't see who it was. Whoever was at the door whispered something to him. "Awesome." Michael said and opened the door.

"Hello Chloe." Melissa said with a smile and walked in and over to my bed.

"I haven't seen you since you stole my fiancé from me." She raised her fist like she was going to punch me. I guess she did because I blacked out after that.

FYI Michael and Melissa are Chloe and Derek's ex's. Kinda weird isn't it? Anyways…REVIEW!
