I know I haven't updated in a while. But life is stupid and I couldn't find the time to. Now my computer is finally fixed so I figured that I would.

So in the last chapter Chloe lashed out at Derek again, Derek thinks that she might not recover from her experience at the Cabal. So here is chapter 30!

DPOV

I woke up to a knock at my door. "Come in!" I didn't want to get out of bed; I was too exhausted from the previous night. I say the door knob jiggle and realized that I was locked.

I jumped out of bed hoping to find Chloe on the other side of the door. I threw it open only to find Tori with both her hands on her hips.

"About time you answered the door, thought that I would die of old age waiting for you to open it." I pushed me aside and walked in.

I didn't want to the answer to my next question, but I had to ask. "How's Chloe, is she ok?" I walked to the opposite side of the room and pulled out the desk chair and sat down, facing Tori who was sitting with her legs crossed on the bed.

"She's doing better than she was last night," She leaned forward with her elbow on her knee and rested her chin in her hand. "She slept in my room with me; she kept talking in her sleep. She's out with Simon right now."

Once she said that last part her eyes went wide as if she just barely remembered that she shouldn't have mentioned that part.

I felt a pang of hurt once I fully understood what Tori had said. Chloe is with Simon, she should be with me. "Where did they go?" I don't know why I needed to know this; I just felt that I had too.

"I think they went into town, and went to go get something to eat." She must've seen the hurt in my eyes because as soon as she finished she started again. "It's not like that! Simon wouldn't hit on her…Well, not this soon at least. Omigod! I keep saying things that I shouldn't; they're not on a date. He took her out to get her mind off things."

"Anyways, you said that she was talking in her sleep, what was she talking about?" Chloe never really talked in her sleep, so this interested me a little bit.

Tori was just about to answer when we heard a car drive up to the house. I walked to the window that overlooked the front yard. Chloe and Simon were coming out of the car and walking around the back to get shopping bags. "We should probably go see if they need any help with their bags." I said to Tori who was still on my bed.

"You can, you just want to have an excuse to talk to Chloe. I'm gonna go take a nap." With that she left the room and went to hers.

She was right; I just wanted to see Chloe. I ran out of the room and through the house until I got to the front door and went outside to meet them. Chloe was coming up the side of the car.

I decided to act like nothing happened last night and see what she does. "Hey Beautiful, need help with your bags?" I said walking up to her. Now that I saw her up close I realized how much I really needed her in my life.

"Um, sure." She looked uncomfortable and I felt guilty for putting her in that position. But she still handed me her bags and went to grab more from the back.

I stood there for a moment until I noticed Simon come up beside me. "She didn't talk about you while we were out so I can't give you a heads up, but I'll leave you guys alone to talk." He whispered so that Chloe wouldn't hear him.

"Thanks." I whispered back, but he was already walking towards the house.

I went to the back o the car to find Chloe sitting in the trunk staring into nothing. I took me a moment but I finally saw the small tears building up in her eyes. "Chole-" I began, but she interrupted me with holding her hand up, signaling that she need to tell me something, but needed a minute to put the words together.

When she put her hand down I sat next to her. More than happy to give her the time she needed, as long it meant that she would eventually talk to me.

"I know you didn't attack me. That's the thing, I know you didn't. But," she paused to take a breath, probably in hopes that it would stop her from stuttering. "But, that doesn't matter, when I do what I did last night, I think you did." I was studying her the entire time she was talking.

"Chloe, will you tell me what's going on with you? Please?" She turned to look at me, tears on her face. I wiped them away, and then pushed some stray hairs out of her face and behind her ear.

"I would, I would tell you everything; if I only knew for myself. I have no idea what's going on. That's what scares me Derek." When she said my name like, admitting to me her weaknesses and her fears, I felt a tug at my chest. Chloe was my mate; I couldn't see her like this. Even though I know she saw that I was thinking in my eyes she continued.

"It scares me that I have no control over it. That one minute I'm sleeping in your arms, completely safe, and the next I'm convinced that you're trying to kill me." She started crying again and turned away from me.

"Hey, don't turn away from me. I'm right here, you can talk to me." Instead of turning around and looking at me like I hoped, she just leaned into me, resting her head on my chest, sobbing quietly.

I lost track of the time I spent stroking her hair and whispered sweet nothings in her ear trying to soothe her, until Simon came out to see what was taking us so long. Once he saw the condition Chloe was in, he backed up and went inside.

Soon after that Chloe stirred in my arms and I realized that she had fallen asleep. Trying not to wake her, I lifted her up bridal style and went into the house. I got curious glances from everyone that I passed on the way into our room, but I didn't care. I just wanted to lay down with Chloe in my arms, I keep her there. Forever.
