Chapter 21 – Radial Past
Felicity placed her phone down on her desk with almost exaggerated carefulness, her face drained of emotion and of colour – a fact that seriously scared Oliver from where he had been watching her from behind his desk even as he talked about the search for the masked man who had helped Cyrus Gold and injected Roy Harper with the mirakuru.
Without even caring about the conversation he was having with Diggle, he was out from behind his desk and holding her in his arms in five seconds, "Sweetheart?"
"Barry's in a coma." She looked up at him; hands resting on his chest, the anguish now clear in her eyes. "I have to go... Oliver, he doesn't have anyone, his dad... Oliver?"
He closed his eyes for a moment, resting his chin on hers as she buried her face against his chest. (He also pounded the jealous little Oliver down as heavily as he could, knowing how mother-sisterly bearish the love of his life felt about the young scientist).
He then pulled back and put a finger under her chin so that he could see her eyes again. "How are you going to get in... you've already hacked his personnel records! Oh Felicity..." He sighed unable to prevent the hint of amusement in his eyes at the slightly guilty look in her's.
"That's the plus of having the maternal side change their names when they get married I suppose." Diggle murmured with a slight grin himself. Catching the glare that they both sent him out of the corner of his eyes, he quickly decided that discretion was the better part of valour and hit the road. "I'll get the car out front."
As soon as the elevator doors closed behind their friend, Oliver tightened his hold around her waist again. "Call me every day you're gone." He said as her arms slipped around his neck.
"Only if you promise to keep me up to date about your search for this Brother Blood," She shot back as she ran her fingers through his short hair. "There's something we're missing, Oliver and it will just take just one thing to narrow it down."
He genuinely smiled at that – once his girl had a puzzle in her sights, she just wouldn't give up, no matter what else was going on around her. Leaning down, he kissed her softly. "Just stay safe."
She looked back up at him, running her right hand over his cheek – exactly where a bruise had been only day before. "That goes both ways, Green Arrow." She murmured softly as she raised herself on tiptoe to kiss him before grabbing her bag and leaving as fast as she could – because no matter her concern for the young scientist, her love for Oliver was stronger.

If he had known just what he had been about to face while she was gone, Oliver might have thought about joining Felicity in Central City.
Felicity on the other hand was seriously thinking that she should have perhaps stayed in Starling City. She had not expected to return to her hotel room and find who she had there – especially with the news of the bombing that had just occurred back home.
Putting her bag down on the entrance table of the suite Oliver had upgraded her to, Felicity walked into the sitting room and came to a full stop. "What the...!"
"Hello little sister," The tall black-haired form turned from the window she had been staring out of and grinned at the younger woman standing with her mouth open across the room. "I hear you done the impossible... again."
"DIANA!" Without even really thinking about it out (and considering that she hadn't spoken to her sister since her kidnapping and leaving the island home they shared), Felicity sprang across the room in an almost a single bound into her sister's open welcoming arms. "I've missed you!"
"I've missed you too, little sister." Diana Prince, also known as Princess Diana of the Amazon aka Wonder Woman tightened her hold around her younger sister before drawing back to look into the smaller woman's face with a questioning look. "Just what in Hades' name have you got yourself into, Felicity?"
"Ah..." Felicity shook herself free and moved to the sofa across the room. "How much time have you got?"
Diana rolled her eyes and shaking her head, she took a seat opposite her sister. "I somehow knew you were going to say that. Alright, young sister, get to the story telling..."
And Felicity did exactly that, leaving her sister speechless for the first time in her long life.

In Starling City, Oliver walked furiously into his office and for the hundredth time (and that was not an exaggeration) Diggle really wished that Felicity would return home, even with the bombing going on and being safer where she was in Central City because their archer leader was driving him slightly nuts with his current obsession.
It was therefore with great relief after describing a way of tracking the bomber to Oliver that he turned on hearing her voice to find her walking into the office and straight into Oliver's arms. "Then it's a good thing we have an in with the SCPD then."
Oliver tightened his arms around her slender frame and then drew back to ask seriously "How's Barry and what are you doing back here so soon?"
Felicity brushed her hand over the crease between his eyes before resting it on his cheek. "He's still sleeping – I prefer sleeping to coma, it just..." She shrugged before she looked over to Diggle and then back to Oliver, "And did you really think I would stay away after hearing about the bomb and I didn't exactly come back alone either but that's not something I really want to talk about where a certain person could suddenly appear and you really need to meet them sooner rather than later but... anyway..." She reached up on tiptoe and kissed Oliver's cheek before touching Diggle's arm then pulled away. "I'll be reaching out to Detective Lance so you two really need to get back to day work before the night intrudes."
Diggle and Oliver looked at each other – both had sensed her unhappiness at the news regarding Barry Allen and while both really wished she had remained safe in Central City, both were glad to have her back with them once again – and with that thought in mind, both men followed the quiet command of their real commander-in-chief, returning to work.

Several hours later, Oliver found himself racing out of the Foundry to look for Felicity – being put in place by both his girlfriend and his partner had him quickly realising that the jealous little Oliver he thought he had stomped into good behaviour had taken control of him for the argument they had just had. (Receiving the news about the snitch in the police department and loosing the bomber after the second bomb detonation had not helped the situation either.)
To his surprise, he found her sitting in one of the booths in Verdant, not outside the club as he had expected with a black haired woman whose demeanour reminded him very much of his Amazon on the island. The other woman murmured something to her as he crossed the floor to join them and Felicity turned to look at him, glaring angrily.
That look spurred him to move even faster as he reached out to grab her hand, forgetting for a moment that she wasn't alone. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."
"Then why did you say it?" She threw back at him – even as she moved to make room for him in the booth at her side.
"Because as much as I want you here with me, you would have been safer staying in Central City where's there no bomber!" He threw straight back at her. "Because I know you, Felicity and I love you and I'm..." He hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I'm scared you might get hurt and I could lose you." He grabbed her hand and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into his side, still ignoring the other woman watching them avidly. "Because mirakuru is loose in the city..."
It was almost as if she was waiting for that particular statement for Felicity suddenly covered his mouth with her hand to stop him before lowering it to kiss him. "Oliver..." She ran her fingers over his cheek before she seemed to suddenly realise that they were not alone and she found herself blushing slightly. "Ah..." She looked over at her watching sister and found her regarding the couple with an extremely amused smile gracing her beautiful face. "Oliver, remember what I said in the office."
"You didn't come back from Central City alone." He replied as he tucked her even further into his side as he looked across to the woman watching them – even as it struck him who she was.
"No..." Felicity reached out to the other woman who took her hand and drew closer. "Oliver, this... this is my sister. This is Diana Prince also known as Wonder Woman. Diana, this is Oliver Queen, also known as the Arrow."
Never had there been a time when Oliver Queen was more than glad that Verdant was a popular nightclub than he had been the night he met Felicity Smoak's sister.

Diana Prince sat on the med-table watching the three members of Team Arrow with an air of nonchalance and was struck to the core by how different her younger sister was to the girl she remembered more clearly before her kidnapping.
The bond between all three of them was very strong but the bond between her sister and Oliver Queen was even stronger – and now that she had seen it for herself, she could clearly understand how they had broken the hold the Mnemosyne potion had held over them.
Even now, Oliver was standing behind Felicity's chair as she worked on the computer, his hand on her shoulder as he maintained touch with her (normal behaviour she was sure but also a part of his continuing apology for his earlier behaviour she was sure as well). She also did not miss the fact that Diggle was watching them with amusement even as he continued his own work.
"We're going to have to make a move soon if we're going to the Unity Rally." Oliver murmured softly as he watched the varied information cross her screens.
"You may not have to." She covered his hand suddenly as she got the break-through she was looking for. Both Diggle and Diana immediately moved across the floor to join the couple. "I've found our bomber from the information Detective Lance gave us."
"Then I'll go look into the bomber, Digg, I'll need you to cover the rally." He looked down at Felicity for a moment, running his hand down the side of her face. "I know that..."
"Instinct telling you, you need me here, safe but where I'll be of more use." She replied as she looked up at him, closing her eyes for a moment before a slight shuffle from where her sister was now standing beside her chair had her stiffening slightly. She turned to look at her for a second; frowning at the slightly raised eyebrow she faced... and stuck her tongue out at her. "Go do your job Oliver; my sister will make sure I stay out of trouble."
"But I wouldn't lay money on it." Diana murmured as the two men disappeared earning herself a slap from her sister, making her grin – only for that grin to break into laughter as a suited-up Oliver raced back into the lair for Felicity to put his mask on and kiss her senseless before leaving.

Fifteen minutes later, the elder sister watched in sheer admiration as Felicity and Oliver talked through the situation he had just found himself in, one finishing the other's sentence even before they knew it – even down to Oliver shutting down Felicity's too much information ramble by only using her name.
That was before she found herself being pulled out of the lair at top speed, a communication device she was not used to in her ear before she knew it and heading for the rally that they had been watching on the news – even as Oliver had investigated Shrapnel's shop and been caught in his trap.
Luckily for them both, the rally was not being held that very far from Verdant and they were soon at the top of the steps looking down onto the square. Felicity immediately pressed her Bluetooth. "Digg, Diana and I are here."
"I'm on the east side, I found the arming device." Diggle replied even as he examined the digital device that was attached to the speaker. He was swiftly joined by the two women and even as he described the trigger device to Felicity, he found himself noting how the elder woman stayed back and allowed her to do what was necessary (even though it was clear that she knew the type of device that they were dealing with, it was also clear that she was not going to stand in her younger sister's way at doing her job in her city).
And Diana herself felt torn that she could no more that pull her sister out of harm's way as Diggle faced down Shrapnel. It tore at her sense of justice but at the same time, she felt justified that in doing her duty as Felicity's elder sister was much more important at that particular moment in time and that the former soldier would definitely agree with her (as would Oliver!).
She was most especially impressed by the shot Oliver pulled out of his quiver to stop the bomb that Shrapnel threw at the stage in mid-air. It was the shot of a master bowman and worthy of a man who would be a consort of an Amazonian princess.
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
A sense that was more than justified (pun intended!) as she watched Oliver pull Felicity into his arms on his return to the lair, making sure that she was uninjured as well. (She should have been offended by that but she dismissed it as the actions of a man in love!)
Now sure in her own mind that her sister was in the safest of hands, Diana nodded to herself and coughed politely to draw their attention from each other (where it had been firmly fixed ever since Diggle had left). "Felicity, Oliver..."
They turned to face her, Felicity leaning against Oliver's side, his arm still around her waist as the younger woman caught the look on her sister's face. "You have to go, don't you?"
"I have some work to do for myself and on your behalf, little sister." Diana turned round and picked up the brown leather bag she had pulled out of her car on their return to the lair. "Open this once I've gone."
Placing it in her sister's hands, she turned to the young man watching them. "I'm sorry to cut and run but... Oliver, it was nice to meet you, I place my sister in your charge..." She held out her hand to stop the protest she could see forming on her sister's lips, "And I place you in my sister's charge."
Felicity sighed. "Diana...!" It was a fact of life that she had always hated on her home island and she knew her elder sister knew that.
"Sorry, have to go." She pressed a kiss to Felicity's forehead, shook a bemused Oliver's hand and before they knew exactly what was happening, was gone from the lair. "Call me if you need me?" floated back on the air.
Oliver and Felicity looked at each other and then opened the bag that she had been handed. The first thing that she saw was telephone number but it was what was underneath that had her shivering. Oliver tightened his hold around her waist and watched as she pulled out a set of familiar yet unfamiliar leathers, "Felicity?"
"My winter leathers," she whispered in response as she laid the costume out, "Oliver, my winter leathers."
And it was indeed a suit of clothes very much like those he remembered her wearing that year on the island. This set however had gloves, trousers and a jacket in addition to skirt and top she had worn. There was also had a head band and a mask much like his own; all in forest browns and blacks– with a note attached.
"There will be times when even Felicity will need to go into the field; Oliver and an evening dress won't always work! Remember, her life, her choice. And sister, blue-black is an Amazon at her best! Diana. P.S. Oracle or Seer would be a good code name!"
Felicity couldn't stop herself; she started laughing even as tears fell. Oliver on the other hand merely groaned.

Yes, last week and the lack of chapter - 1. Slight problem with arm prevented typing.
2. Problem AAAing Radial Blast
3. Lack of time to devote to chapter
And the answer was... All three actually - I suddenly realised yesterday how to do it and got to typing, hence the longer chapter due to tons of original material and yes, that's geniune original material so I hope you enjoy the introduction of our non-mystery character, Diana Prince - which you all knew was coming but hey... author here, right to insecurity written in stone!
Lets see those reviews, people, 100 is in sight and I'd like to reach it with this one so lets give it that old college try, shall we, pretty please! ;op
