Chapter 30 – Stroke of Death
Felicity stood looking out of the window of Queen Consolidated, her phone pressed to her ear. "Are you sure?"
"The evidence is unmistakable." Her sister's voice was sure across the line. "What was taken corresponds with what was used – and have I thanked you yet for that program you designed to help?"
"I took it as said." Felicity smiled even as she pushed her glasses back up her nose. "I have to go, I think that there is someone I need to prep just in case – apart from the fact I have to put a firework up Oliver's ..." She broke off for a second, allowing Diana to guess at what she actually meant to say before continuing, "About his board meeting I am not going to allow him to avoid."
"Attending mother's numerous meetings finally becoming of use then." The note of amusement was clear in Diana's voice. "And you said that you would never have a need for them."
"Gloating is so unladylike, sister." Felicity responded although her smile was clear in her voice. "I really have to go now, Diana."
"Take care, little sister, if what you have told me..." She broke off. "Call me if you need me."
"My word upon it," Felicity cancelled the call, turned to put her coat on and then picked up the pink message slips. "Time to corral the absentee CEO... again but first..." She pressed a shortcut on her phone and left the office. "Please put me through to Mr Steele, its Felicity Smoak... hello Walter... we have a problem that I am going to need your help with..."

Arriving at the lair, Felicity stopped for a moment at the sight of the arrow in the middle of the electrical wiring and glared at the two culprits responsible. It had to be said that the glare was directed more at her other half rather than the younger man and he hunched his shoulders at the ferocity of it.
"I take it that it was your idea to practice shooting in this direction." Her own eyebrow was raised in question as she glared at them. He merely nodded slightly and she hit him in the bicep. "We'll be having words on this later Oliver..." She told him even as she reached up to kiss his cheek. "Amongst other words..."
He raised his eyebrow at that but she shook her head slightly to silence him.
She then turned her attention to Roy and proved that she had heard the conversation that they had been having on her entrance. "And I told someone the truth one and he ended up being hit by lightning and going into a coma but I doubt that would happen again."
"Felicity, you're an absolute ray of sunshine." Diggle commented with a grin as she moved past him to her chair. He had not missed the look that had passed Oliver's face as she had spoken. Even knowing that there was nothing between her and Barry Allen, he still did not like it when she mentioned the young man that had been so fascinated with her.
Oliver rejoined Roy, the two men having words about Thea and he found himself being hit again. "Why do I get the feeling that I deserved that?" He murmured as he corralled Felicity to his side (mainly in the hope that he would not be hit by her again!)
"Why go I get the feeling that it's a good thing that I am who I am, Oliver Jonas Queen or you would be trying to get me out of this life as well." She shot back before slamming the messages into his abs. "I threw last month's messages from QC out, Oliver, these are this month's, I can't do it again."
"With Slade Wilson around, I don't have time for the company, Felicity." He shot back as she freed herself.
"I know that, Oliver but you're going to have to make time today, at least three hours worth..." She held up her hand as he started to object again. "It's the annual board meeting and the CEO has to be there..." She held up both hands to make the speech-marks symbol. "And in case you've forgotten, that's you."
Oliver grabbed her hands before she hit him again. "Felicity..."
"Do you remember where you put your business suit, Oliver or do you keep it in a cool glass case too?" Her tone was sarcastic as she nodded towards where his Arrow suit was on display he couldn't help but grin at it. He pulled her into his arms and bent his head down to kiss her. "You've been waiting to use that one haven't you." He murmured against her lips so that only she could hear him.
She smiled and kissed him back. Her "Change Oliver" was her only reply.

Tapping at her screen, Felicity looked up with a look of relief as she heard the familiar tones of Walter Steele. Glancing into the board room, she noticed Oliver talking to the Russian virago (one of the few names she used to curse the woman in her head) and swore. "Digg, follow this." She pulled her friend into her seat and grabbing the Englishman by the arm, led him into the room.
"Oliver..." She spoke quickly and moved to his side, drawing his attention. "Walter's here to offer his assistance in any way possible." Catching exactly what he had been writing, she lifted the piece of paper off the table just before Isabel could reach it and resting her hand on his arm, waved it in the air, "Oliver, any way possible."
He looked at her, the paper and the two different options that she was presenting him with and before she knew what was happening, pulled her into his arms to kiss her forehead. "I love you, Felicity." He then turned to the tall Englishman and held out his hand to him. "Walter, thank you, you didn't have to come back but thank you."
"Oliver, please, it's the least I can do." Walter replied as he shook his hand in return. "The moment Felicity called me; I knew it was the right decision to make under the current circumstances..."
"She's always right thankfully for me." Oliver replied as he looked down at Felicity before turning slightly to look at Isabel. "I'm quite sure that you understand, Isabel."
Isabel scowled slightly in return but nodded. "Of course, Mr Steele is a wise choice under the circumstances."
"Shall we discuss the company officers voting then, Ms Rochev and leave Oliver to assist his mother with this situation?" Walter took her by the arm and moved her away.
"Oliver," Felicity touched his cheek. "We need to talk about Mr Wilson."

Arms wrapped around her waist, Felicity stared in stunned disbelief at the information that was coming through the computers from Queen Consolidated.
It was bad enough that Slade had been released by the police after their attempt to find Thea had failed. In fact the only good thing that could possibly come out of that failed attempt was that Oliver and his mother might be able to fix some of their broken bonds or so she hoped.
Now, with every second that passed, she could literally see Roy move further and further away from them as his trust in them was broken.
She closed her eyes for a second as she realised that her suspicions regarding Isabel Rochev began to be confirmed and realised that she had left Walter to fight for Queen Consolidated on Oliver's behalf by himself and he was only just winning because of the voting powers that she had given him.
"Oliver, we have to go back to QC, Isabel is trying to take over."
Thirty minutes later, Felicity stood looking at the other woman, head tilted to one side and arms folded, eyes widening as her real memories of the other woman shot back into her head and she shook it hard. "Oliver, go to the car, I'll follow you back."
"Felicity..." Oliver stopped for a second, pulling his jacket straight from his fight with Isabel.
"Go Oliver, there are words I need to have with Ms Rochev." Felicity replied, smiling at him. The moment the door closed behind him, her smile faded and the steel of the Amazon princess emerged as she turned to face down the other woman. "I am to inform you that your hold on this company on behalf of Mr Wilson is not as strong as you believe it to be, Ms Rochev."
"And how exactly can you be so sure of that, Ms Smoak." Isabel smirked back at her. "His own board just decided that I should be the CEO, even with only forty percent of the company so I believe that I am holding all the cards, even with you bringing in Mr Steele as your ace up your sleeve attempt to stop me."
"Yes, perhaps so but I still have the ace in up my sleeve, Isabel and it wasn't actually Mr Steele," Felicity replied as she took a step forward. "I know something of which the board is unaware and I strongly believe so is Slade Wilson."
"And just what is that?" Isabel asked for the first time feeling that perhaps she wasn't as in control of the situation as she thought she was.
"I am fully aware that the money you used to purchase that forty percent of QC stock was stolen from the Amazon Queen after you arrange for the kidnapping of her youngest child. Is that not so, Isabella?"
"And just what do you think that you can do about it, Ms Smoak." Isabel responded her eyes narrowed at hearing the name she had used for a short period of time that she preferred to forget (and a little worried that this secretary actually knew the name!)
"I can do more that you know and will do so when the time is right. I would advise you to think upon that, Isabella and make your final preparations. I think that you will find your time in Starling City will shortly be coming to an end." With that parting statement, Felicity left the other woman to stew, knowing that the way she had said the name was the exact same way her own mother had used to use when she was upset with her.

She walked into the Foundry and found her other half arguing with Sara about it being a trap.
"Oh! For the love of Zeus!" She growled to herself as she made her way down the stairs into the lair. "Why does she always need to do this"
"Listen to me Ollie, it's one of Slade's games, you can't..." Sara stepped towards him.
"No Sara, I cannot do nothing!" Oliver moved his bow to his other hand. "What would you do if it was Laurel or your father or your mother; I will not be dragged into this same debate over and over again."
"Go." It was one word but it silenced them all as Felicity stepped forward and he stared at her, literally stunned for a moment. "Go get Thea." She rested her hand on his cheek as his free hand came to rest at her waist. "Stop Slade, and do whatever it takes. End this once and for all."
Oliver looked down at her, bringing his forehead to rest on hers, her hand still on his cheek. Just for a moment they stood in complete silence together before he nodded slightly but before he walked away, he pulled in to his arms and kissed her.

Entering the police station, the first person Oliver saw was Felicity and as she, other than his newly returned sister, was the only person he wanted to see right in that moment, he was across the room in a flash to pull her into his arms. She immediately wrapped his arms around his waist subtly checking him for injuries. "I'm alright Felicity, I promise, for some reason they were normal."
He looked over head at Diggle, "Thea?"
"She's fine, Slade didn't touch her." Diggle replied as he subtly moved the couple over to join a waiting Sara who was actually sat on her father's desk in the squad room.
"And Slade was busy elsewhere." Sara added as they reached her.
"He hijacked a prison transfer going to the newly opened wing of Iron Heights." Diggle put his hands in his pockets, "Soldiers for his army."
"Taking Thea and the company was a diversion." Sara finished.
"Thea perhaps," Felicity said softly as she looked up at him, feeling his arm tighten around her as his mother entered the bull-pen. "The company has more to it than we're currently seeing." She tightened her hold around his waist for a moment and reached up to press a kiss to his lips then stepped back. "Go with your mother to see Thea, come and find me when you're ready."
She moved away from them but as she passed Moira, she stopped for a moment to catch the elder woman's hand and said something softly to her. Whatever it was had Moira hugging her swiftly for a second before she continued on to join her son.
But there was enough time for Sara to murmur loud enough for Oliver and Diggle to hear her. "Felicity is something else, that's for certain."

He walked into the Foundry with almost an air of defeat and this time it was Felicity that was across the room in a flash, throwing herself into his arms. As he wrapped them around her slender waist, he looked down at her, eyes dark and wounded. "She knows, Felicity. He told her about Merlyn being her father and Lance has been arrested for helping me."
She closed her eyes and tightened her hold around his waist as he held her even closer to him, "Oh Oliver."
"Roy was right." He murmured into her hair, focusing on his costume even as he spoke to his two closest partners. "I've been making the wrong decisions about everything, him, the company..." He pulled back slightly to look at Felicity. "Even though you almost managed to pull me out of that one, still..." She rested her hand on his cheek, "And now Thea."
"I was so focused on what Slade might do to me, I never ever realised what I could do to myself." He rested his head on hers for a moment. "I am my own worst enemy."
"Oliver no!" She refuted immediately even as Diggle said "That's Slade talking; don't let him get to your head."
Oliver moved so that he was now facing Diggle, somehow keeping Felicity in his arms as he did so (not that she was going far from the hold she on him) "I can't keep him out of my head, Diggle, I can't, I can't stop him from doing anything!"
Felicity pulled back and cupped his cheek. "Oliver, yes you can."
"What makes you so sure?" He asked her, hand still resting around her waist.
"Because I believe in you and I always have." She replied as she ran her finger over his shoulder where his first scar lay hidden. "And I always will."
"Because you're not alone man," Diggle moved closer to them. "Now what boss?"
Oliver rested his head on Felicity's for a moment and then raised it, looking first at her and then at Diggle. "Now we fight back."
"Oh believe me; I've already thrown the first shot across the bow." Felicity said with such a note of glee it almost scared the two men in her life.
Diggle actually took a step back and surprised a laugh out of Oliver as he said, "Why do we need to be scared of Slade Wilson when we have Felicity Smoak, Amazon Princess!"
