Chapter 35 – Thinkable
Minutes passed as they waited and Oliver manoeuvred Felicity so that she was leaning against him, his chin on her head as they continued look for signs of Roy returning to consciousness.
He found himself lost in memories for a moment and the image of Slade saying that there was one last person to die crossed his internal memory screen, he tightened his hold around Felicity even further – enough that she actually drew back slightly to look up into his eyes, small hand cupping his cheek as she silently asked what was wrong.
All it took was that one look for her to understand what he was remembering and she laid her head back on his chest again, moving her hand to just inside his leather jacket at the base of his throat and moving her thumb to caress the hollow as a reminder that she was there, safe.
Diggle looked up from where he had also been watching Roy and noticed the silent conversation that the couple were having and raised an eyebrow. It was clear that they had just had a conversation that took them back to the Island as well as more recent memories without saying a single thing and he was once again amazed just how Felicity managed to bring him back to the present with just a single touch of her hand.
He was also struck by just how alike the pair looked right then as well – one in green, the other in browns and black when Oliver suddenly spoke. "The cure's not working."
The gentle caressing hand suddenly went to a fist and to Diggle's amusement, Felicity pulled back and hit him. "We don't know that, Oliver." She hit him again. "He still has a lot of Tibetan pit viper venom in his system."
Her glare was deadly but before Oliver could respond, an alarm suddenly sounded and he felt her go to full alert, picking up her wig and mask as she passed them to head for her tablet.
"What's that?" Diggle asked as he straightened up in response, hand going to his gun.
"Proximity alarm," Felicity replied. "I rigged the tower with sensors just in case Slade's goons came here to kill us."
The two men looked at each other. Neither of them had realised that she had put an alarm system in place and Oliver was clearly bursting with pride at her forethought to do so as he followed her. He placed his hand on her shoulder as she brought up her screen and looked back at them. "Slade's goons are here to kill us."
Oliver immediately turned for his bow. "Talk to me Felicity."
"They're right underneath us." She replied as she tucked her tablet back inside her jacket, turning as Roy suddenly joined the party with a groan, "Where am I?"
All three turned to stare at him, stunned by his sudden return – only for the trapdoor to the clock tower to open and receive the positive that the cure worked. Roy hit the first goon coming through and turned away, shaking his hand from how it hurt and had no effect.
"Now we know it works." Diggle murmured dryly, wincing as Roy's feet were swiped from under him and he hit the floor.
Without even thinking about it, Oliver pulled his hood up and moved round the back of the open trap-door and hit the goon before slamming it shut – only to have to turn round as Felicity gave a very un-her-like shriek as one emerged from a hole in the floor and grabbed her leg,
"FELICITY!"Before she could respond, Diggle took out his gun and shot the goon as Oliver shot one of his travel wires out of the broken clock-face, "Down the cable!"
Roy immediately followed orders as Diggle grabbed the case holding the cure and followed him down. Felicity however stood in the open window, pulling her mask down as she waited for Oliver to join her. He was currently smashing the goon trying to come through the door with his bow before literally diving for her.
"Tarzan time, Jane," He grinned swiftly at her as she wrapped her arm around his shoulders to go down the cable. (Of course she could have done it by herself but travelling through mid-air on a cable was one of their things and no matter the danger of the situation, there was no way she was going to miss flying through the air with Oliver's arm around her!)
They reached the bottom, steadied to a stop by Diggle and Roy then turned, arms around each other to look up at the helicopter that had suddenly arrived – a helicopter that had launched a rocket into the tower – a helicopter that carried Lyla hanging out of the rocket to launch the rocket and one very proud Diggle grinning at her.
Felicity raised herself on tiptoe to whisper into Oliver's ear. "She is so going to fit into the family."
He smiled back down at her before placing a finger under her chin and kissing her softly.
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
Holding Felicity's hand, Oliver led the way into the Foundry lair – a lair that had been completely torn apart and he could almost feel Felicity's pain at seeing her computers busted on the ground. He pulled her to his side, sliding his hand up her arm and around her waist to silently comfort her as Roy spoke, looking equally stunned by how destroyed the lair was compared to his last waking memory of the place. "What the hell happened?"
"Slade's army, you were right about this place being compromised." Diggle looked around as Lyla moved to his side.
"Lyla, your boss is going to bomb the city at dawn." Oliver ran his hand up and down Felicity's back as she continued around at her computers and the lair she had worked so hard to make for him.
The hint of cynicism was clear in Diggle's voice as he spoke. "Yeah, Waller's never seen a problem she didn't think couldn't be solved by a drone strike."
Lyla responded, looking at him. "Why do you think I'm here?"
Diggle turned to her as Felicity raised an eyebrow at Oliver, nodding her head towards them slightly and to which he responded with a similar action, grinning as she leant up to whisper to him, "Oh-o, someone's in trouble!"
"You knew Waller was looking to level the city and you came here anyway." Diggle reached out for Lyla's hand. A hand she took as she said softly. "You're here."
Oliver stepped forward slightly and Felicity immediately put her hand on his chest to hold him back slightly. "You need to go back to A.R.G.U.S, you need to stop Waller or buy us enough time to stop Slade."
"Not without me, death do us part, right." Diggle replied as he looked at his former wife. She looked back at him. "This time it might."
Oliver then turned to look down at Felicity, then over to Roy. "I need you to scrounge as many weapons as you can find, especially injection arrows. We're going to fill them with the cure – which clearly works..." Roy, who had moved to stand next to Felicity, looked down and she touched his shoulder softly in reassurance, "and this ends tonight, without killing."
Oliver moved away from them as they started to look around the lair, saying softly. "There's been enough death already."
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
Roy turned from where he was putting together injector arrows for Felicity to fill and watched her calmly fill them with the right amount of cure. He had not missed the frequent looks that the couple had been sharing and realised that there was something about them that seemed more than before.
He moved to the table she was using and placed the arrows beside her. "Well, it seems that I missed a lot."
"What do you remember?" She turned to look at him slightly, noticing that Oliver had also drawn a little closer to listen to their conversation behind him.
"Leaving town and heading to Blüdhaven." He looked at her quickly before returning to the arrows. "Was I out cold the whole time?"
Felicity didn't reply straight away as she looked at Oliver as if asking whether she should tell him or not, and he shook his head slightly as Roy noticed her delayed response, "Felicity?"
"You were out..." She nodded firmly as if to emphasize the point, "The whole time."
Over hearing them, Diggle changed the direction of the conversation. "Slade has about 50 or so of those human weapons. We'll need a whole army if we plan hitting them with the cure."
A familiar voice from the direction of the stairs had them all turning with weapons at the ready. "I know."
Felicity looked up from where she was working as Oliver moved across the lair to where Sara was walking in, followed closely by Nyssa and eight assassins. "Oh joy!" She murmured to herself before speaking to Roy. "Keep filling the arrows."
She then moved swiftly to Oliver's side, placing her hand on his chest to hold him back as Nyssa continued, "Which is why an army I have brought."
"Sara..." The glare Felicity shot her had Sara lowering her eyes to avoid her. "You should have called before you invited eight assassins down into our top secret lair."
Sara reached out and touched her arm as Oliver asked softy, "What is she doing here?" (It earned him a backward slap from Felicity for rudeness.)
"I asked her to come." Sara looked up at him as she moved to speak to him.
Nyssa, impressed by Felicity (who was currently wearing her blonde hair rather than her brunette wig) moved towards her. "I am Nyssa, daughter of Ra's Al ghul, Heir to the Demon."
"I know who you are, Nyssa." Felicity replied. "And we've met." She raised her bracer covered arm, "Felicity, daughter of Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons, also known as the Shadow."
Nyssa stepped back and for the first time in her people's living knowledge, bowed to the other woman in respect, "Princess."
Hearing Oliver and Sara arguing, Felicity nodded back in return and quickly joined them, grabbing Oliver by the hand. She looked at the other blonde and asked softly. "Are you sure, Sara, about rejoining them. You could be with them as my representative."
"Felicity!" Oliver exclaimed before she covered his mouth to stop him. "Amazon business, sweetheart, you have no say." He glared at her over her hand and then nodded, wrapping his arm around her waist. Felicity then turned to Sara, eyebrow raised and clearly expecting an answer.
"Yes, I'm sure." Sara looked at her, thanking her for understanding with her eyes and then turned to Oliver. "Oll...iver," She had caught the look in Felicity's eyes as she started to use his old name. "Especially after what happened, I'm sorry about your mother."
"I am willing to do whatever it takes but that doesn't mean cold-blooded killing." Felicity punched him in the ribs at that and he actually winced from the strength of it before continuing. "Is the answer Sara, we have the cure now."
"To fight the unthinkable, you have to be willing to do the unthinkable." She shot back at him.
"You may not want my help Mr Queen but there's little question you are in desperate need of it." Nyssa moved to join the three of them.
Felicity rolled her eyes. "And we will take all the help that we can get." Oliver moved slightly but her elbow in the same place as she had punched him kept him quiet.
"First we need to find Slade's base of operations." Sara moved to Nyssa's side and the two women leaned into each other's touch without realising it.
"Slade Wilson and Isabel Rochev are using your former office building as their base of operations." Nyssa replied as Felicity pulled out her tablet and punched something in.
A message came swiftly back and she looked up at Oliver, nodding. "I have confirmation of that." She then touched the mask that was poking out of his pocket and nodded back over her shoulder at Roy. Realising what she meant, Oliver nodded, pressed a kiss to her forehead and then moved towards him, picking a box up on the way past.
Going to follow him, the sound of a phone ringing could be heard and before anyone knew what was happening, Felicity literally dived across the lair to pull it out of her hidden wall pocket. "Hi!"
"Why the Hades don't you answer your phone when an apocalypse hits your home, little sister." Diana's voice was clear across the line. "Or call me to let me know that one has?"
"Sue me," Felicity shot back in ancient Greek, sure that she and her sister were the only two present who could speak it. "We're doing alright, it's a little mad and chaotic but we have hope."
"Good." Diana replied, "As I doubt I could have got there to help you even if you had told me everything was kicking off. I've been with mother."
"Oh," Felicity replied but the tone had Oliver moving from Nyssa to her side. "And..."
"Even if you have the cure, which I gather you have, she is persona non grata and sentence has been pronounced." Diane paused for a moment, giving Felicity enough time to turn and look up at Oliver with pained eyes. "It is forfeited."
"I understand." Felicity leant into Oliver's strength.
"I'll be there as soon as I can. Stay safe." Diana ended the call and Felicity buried herself in Oliver's embrace, knowing that he was not going to like what she had to say.
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
Oliver and Felicity stood side by side on the roof of the building opposite Queen Consolidated and looked into their former offices.
"I'm not happy about this." He said simply pulling her to him. "I don't want you in danger."
"My whole life is one of danger just by reason of who I am," She reached up and cupped his cheeks. "Remember, I've been in danger since the moment I was born and I have the advantage of surprise."
"I'm just saying for the record that's all." He pulled her closer. "Promise me, Felicity."
"Trust me." She replied as she pulled herself up by his neck and kissed him. "Now let's go to work."
Five minutes later, the fighting was going thick and heavy and Felicity found herself in her former office where Sara was fighting Isabel – just as Nyssa was about to help end the fight. "Nyssa, Canary, stand down, she's mine."
There was something in her voice that not even the two assassins would argue with and Isabel swung round with her two swords at the ready, only to hesitate slightly.
"I know you." She said slowly as Oliver moved into office after watching Slade slip down a cable line to safety. "I know I know you."
"Know which me, Isabella?" Felicity replied as she pulled out the bo-sticks and easily manoeuvred them around in circles. "The smug bitch you've wanted to put a bullet into from the moment you met her or the Amazon princess you arranged to have kidnapped before stealing money from her mother to assist this campaign with Slade Wilson."
"You..." Isabel started to move around in preparation for attacking, although it was clear she was now recalling the memories she been made to forget. "Amazon, the youngest daughter, your mother was so easily turned against you, it was almost no fun."
"Oh good, you remembered." Felicity wasted no more time and launched into her attack – something that stunned the two assassins and archer who had all been sure that the other woman would have attacked first.
The fight should have been equal between the pair – Isabel Rochev was mirakuru-enhanced, (non-one had managed to get the cure into her), a trained martial artist in more than one style and had been trained by Amazons the short time that she had lived with them. Felicity was a trained Amazon from birth and DNA, especially in martial arts that were almost forgotten by the modern world with enhanced abilities from being the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta.
Yet there was a subtle difference in the dance that was being performed before them and it was Oliver that realised what it was. While it was clear that Isabel was highly trained, she had clearly never really fought for her life before and Felicity had.
In fact, even as he made that realisation, Felicity made a series of blows that was clear would only end one way and he shouted "No, Felicity don't."
If anyone else had shouted, she would not have done so but Felicity held back the killing blow – yet as she moved away, she made a small sign that had Nyssa and Sara move to stand over the downed woman.
She moved to Oliver's side, pushing down his bow before reaching to cup his cheek to look into his eyes. "Her life is forfeit, Oliver." She whispered so that only he could hear her. "The call in the lair, it was Diana, mother..."
Watching them, not understanding what was going on, Isabel spoke. "Kill me, don't kill me, doesn't matter, I took away the one..." Before she could finish, Felicity made a slight signal to Nyssa and the assassin broke her back and neck – permanently.
Oliver closed his eyes, resting his forehead on Felicity's head as she whispered. "I'm sorry; I know you wanted no more deaths but..."
"This one wasn't my choice, was it?" He looked into her eyes as she shook her head slightly. "Would you..." He broke off, not really wanting to ask the question but wanting to know the answer.
"I don't know." She leant her head against him as he wrapped his arms around her, ignoring the assassins around them to have this conversation. "But I think I was pulling the blow even as I made it."
That was all he needed to hear and he tightened his hold around her, feeling her shaking from the adrenalin going through her before pulling her back so that he could lift her to kiss her. As they rested their foreheads together once more, their mood was broken slightly as Nyssa spoke. "Your reticence to do what is necessary is why your city burns Oliver Queen."
Felicity glared at her, warning her to say nothing further and the assassin literally tossed her head and walked away with her people as Sara moved across the room to join them.
"This isn't working; I can't close enough to Slade to hit him with the cure." Oliver looked from her to Felicity.
"So what do we do?" Sara asked.
"What we always do," Felicity replied as she felt Oliver's arm tighten around her.
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
Felicity stood waiting in the lobby of Queen Consolidated, wig and mask tucked safe away, her black coat covering her leathers – her ever present tablet in her arms. Hearing the sound of the front doors opening, she looked up to find Detective Lance running in.
Seeing her standing there, relatively unhurt, (he did not miss the bloody cut on her forehead though), he pulled her into his arms to hug her for a moment before she led him to the elevator bank.
It was only as he left the elevator with her that he finally asked the question he had wanted to ask. "Why does this Wilson guy have such a mad-on for the Queens?"
"Detective, you don't need or want to know." Felicity said firmly as she led the way into her former office. "It's just a good thing Thea and Oliver got out of town in time."
'Although why we're still hiding this from you when I'm sure you know the truth is beyond me' she thought to herself, 'I really need to pin him down on that.'
"So they have to go after my family." He said sarcastically, regretting it even as he did so – only for his world to turn even further upside down as he saw the woman who had kidnapped his former wife standing with the Arrow and his daughter. "What the hell is she doing here?"
He also pulled his gun as Felicity rolled her eyes behind him – she had told them he would do it the moment he saw Nyssa – and moving across to stand next to Oliver, who immediately placed his hand at the centre of her back.
Sara moved forward, "She's here to help," and pushed her father's gun aside. "Just trust me please."
"I guess today I'll have to work with anybody that will help get my daughter back."
Oliver glanced up at that and Felicity could feel the tension rising in him even as Sara went, "What?"
"One of these masked guys, they took Laurel." Lance took his youngest daughter's hands in his own. "I couldn't stop him, believe me I tried." He moved uneasily as the blow that his ribs had taken suddenly reminded him it was there.
Felicity immediately started checking her tablet. "Oh we have a new big problem which considering our other ones, is really saying something." Oliver raised his hand to her shoulder and squeezed it, encouraging her to continue. "I hacked a satellite and tasked it for thermo-graphic imaging..." She looked back over her shoulder at him. "All of Slade's men are gathering at the Giordano tunnel."
"I thought these guys were trying to destroy the city not to escape it." Lance asked, holding his daughter's shoulder.
"A.R.G.U.S is going to level the city to stop them from getting out." Oliver squeezed Felicity's shoulder as she shuddered slightly."That's what Slade's planning on, he knows Waller's tactics."
Nyssa nodded in agreement. "Fortunately with Slade's men attempting to leave via the tunnel all out targets will be grouped in a single place."
"We need to take it, gather your men." Oliver once again took command, backed up by Felicity's subtle nod of agreement and Nyssa began to leave the room as Lance moved towards the couple. "What about Laurel? Wilson took her for a reason."
"I know what it is." Felicity raised her hand to cover his as he said that. "But the city comes first."
"This is my daughter," Lance swung round to look at his younger daughter as Oliver moved away from Felicity to look out of the window over the city. "This is your sister; you can't just leave her like this."
Oliver kept his back to the detective as he continued. "Look, I know that you are trying another way and I respect that but Slade Wilson, his men, they're monsters and monsters, they need to be destroyed. You've killed before, tonight I suggest you get back in the habit." He could almost feel Felicity's horror at that statement, especially knowing how close she had come to killing someone herself that night.
Lance stormed out of the room followed closely by his youngest daughter as Felicity immediately moved back to Oliver's side. "He's wrong Oliver."
"He's right." He said softly as she took his hand in hers. "I've lost everything because I'm fighting Slade Wilson with one hand tied behind my back. The man murdered my mother. I have to kill him."
Felicity cupped his face. "You told me you had a choice that years ago you could have cured Slade but you chose to kill him instead, and I still agree with that choice, Oliver, even now." She shook his head to try and make him listen. "This isn't happening because you're not willing to be a killer, its happening because you were one." She shook his head again. "You stopped me tonight from killing Isabel myself because of that."
"You're right, Felicity, that's how this started." He grabbed her by the waist. "It's how it has to end. The only move that he has left for me is to kill him. I can't cure him, I can't capture him, I can't even out-think him!"
"Oliver." She shook his head again. "Then don't, don't." Her eyes suddenly widened as she realised what he needed to do and she ran her fingers down his cheeks. "Make him out-think you."
Oliver looked at her, catching her train of thoughts as well. "Ms Smoak, has anyone told you how remarkable you are,"
She smiled back at him, "Not today, they haven't." She ran her arms around his neck. "Are you back, do we have a real plan B at last."
He grinned at that and kissed her as thoroughly as possible. "We most definitely do."
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
"Oliver, why are we here? What are we doing here; the whole city is falling apart." Felicity stepped in to the lobby of Queen Mansion with Oliver close behind her.
"I know." He exhaled loudly as he took her arm to lead her further in. "I need you to stay here."
"What?" Felicity spun round to look at him, grabbing his quiver belt. "Why? You can't just ask me..."
"I'm not asking." He cupped her face, running his thumb over his cheek. Even though he knew they were acting, this was the hardest thing he had ever had to do and even knowing that he was being watched was not going to stop him being real in his feelings and actions towards her. "I will come and get you when this is all over."
"No!" The fear in her voice was real.
"Felicity..." He walked towards the door even as he hurt from having to say the words.
"No! Not unless you tell me why?"
When he turned round, she was right behind him just as she always was, "Because I need you to be safe."
"Well, I don't want to be safe." The scorn for that was real and it was a real good thing that she knew that the camera was behind her as she said it for only Oliver could see her real feelings about the situation. "I want to be with you and the others, unsafe."
"I can't let that happen." He took her hands in his.
She freed one to cup his bicep. "Oliver, you're not making any sense."
"Slade took Laurel because he wants to kill the woman I love." Felicity squeezed his arm, knowing how far from the truth that statement actually was although it was also proof that the mirakuru had genuinely blocked out all memories of her being on the island as well. "You know as well as I do that he took the wrong woman."
"I know," She reached up to touch his face. "I understand."
"I love you." He cupped her face, "Always."
"I love you too." She watched him leave and took a deep breath as she said silently to herself. 'Now I wait.'
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
And as she waited for who was to come, Felicity could only hope that the plan that they had put together would hold.
Oliver with the help of Roy, Sara and the League of Assassins would be fighting in the tunnel to prevent Slade's army escaping the city confines before the drone that Amanda Waller had ordered struck the city – wiping out everyone, innocent or not.
Simultaneously Diggle and Lyla went to retrieve the Suicide Squad to stop her from ordering the drone to make its strike. In some ways that was one of the most difficult decisions of the night but she knew that Diggle was strong enough to follow through.
No-one had realised that that particular decision would lead to Diggle finding out that he was going to be a father. (And Felicity still hadn't made up her mind if she was going to ask her sister to use her position to take revenge for that particular piece of pettiness.)
From her place on the stairs, where she had chosen to wait, Felicity heard the door open and rose to her feet. 'Here goes plan B.'
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
In the tunnel, Oliver's com suddenly buzzed and his heart stopped for a second as he realised what it meant. He pressed the receiver as he climbed to the top of a cab to survey the scene. "Go!"
"You've been busy kid." Slade's husky voice came over instead of the voice he preferred.
"It's over, Slade, your army's broken." He growled back.
"And I pity them." Slade moved through the facility he had taken over for his final showdown. "But once again you miss the point. I have the one you love; you're going to me where I say otherwise I'm going to kill her."
Oliver managed to internalize his fear as he replied. "No, you do what you have to. I'm done playing your games."
"You're done when I say you're done." Oliver actually managed a grin at Slade's tone of voice; Felicity had been right once again. "I was surprised; I thought you had a thing for stronger women but now that I've met her, I can see the appeal. She is quite lovely, your Felicity."
Oliver closed his eyes as he heard the sound of a sword being drawn and knew that their bait had been taken.
Ten minutes later, Oliver found himself making his way through the engine room of Starling City's refinery to the sound of Slade's voice. "Twitch and I will cut your lovely throat. My first words to you do you remember them..."
Even as he continued to speak, Oliver suddenly recalled Felicity's complaint about the last film they had watched together. "Why does the bad guy always need to give a soliloquy, it's so old hat and gives the hero time to rescue and have I mention just how ugh that is as well or even help the damsel in distress rescue herself."
He finally turned a corner and found Slade holding Felicity against his chest, his sword at her neck but with one fatal mistake. He had left her right hand free.
Across the space, Oliver and Felicity's eyes met and one of those conversations that they were famous for happened right under Slade's nose. Felicity lowered then raised her eyes-lashes and Oliver immediately began the path of conversation they had agreed. The fear filled demeanour she had used from the moment she had been taken in the Mansion faded away.
Now she was poised to act, Slade distracted enough by what Oliver was saying to take the sword far enough away from her neck so that as Oliver said "So he doesn't see the real danger is right in front of him."
Calmly, she palmed the cure she had hidden in her coat pocket, twisted and jammed it straight into Slade's unprotected neck before diving into a roll across the floor and out of the combat zone. As she did so, Sara fired the cure into the man holding Laurel prisoner who surprised them all by landing a couple of punches on him and knocking him out.
Out of the corner of his eyes, he caught Felicity throwing of her coat, revealing her leathers and realised that there was no way she was going to leave him alone now. Sara, also realising that she had no plans to leave him alone with Slade, threw her bo-sticks to Felicity as Oliver shouted. "Get Laurel out of here, we can deal with Slade."
Sara merely nodded and grabbed Laurel by the arm. Even as they left, they could hear her complaining about Felicity staying when she was the woman he loved.
"I told you she was going to be like that if this ever happened." Felicity murmured as she slipped into position near him as he retrieved his bow and then pointed one of her staves at Slade, "Hello Slade, remember me yet?"
He didn't reply but launched himself at Oliver as she spun elegantly out of the way, following them through the glass door. There she murmured to no-one in particular, "I wonder just how many glass panes we actually have broken since we came back. Mmm, note to self to check."
She continued to follow them but staying back from the action until Slade grabbed Oliver by the throat as the drone flew over them. "Oliver..."
Somehow, he was never sure how, he managed to kick Slade towards her and once again stood back in shock as she took on the trained soldier as if she was dancing a choreographed fight ballet. When he felt recovered enough, he manoeuvred back into the fight as she drew back again.
Oliver finally ended the fight by firing cable arrow that tied Slade to a pillar, rising to his feet as he tried not to put wait on his damaged knee. She immediately moved up to him, subtly allowing him to lean his weight on her as they drew closer to the captured man.
"You can kill me or not," Slade growled, "Either way I win."
"Do you really?" Felicity inquired as she pressed Oliver's com unit for him.
"Amanda, its Oliver, Slade's down, his army's been taken out, call back the drones." He waited for a second but there was no response. Felicity pinched him and waved her hand to continue. "Amanda, it's over, call off the drones!"
There was no verbal reply over the com unit but they could hear the sound of the drone suddenly changing direction over the city and knew that she had called it back.
"So what now kid?" Slade leant back against the post, exhausted physically and emotionally.
Oliver and Felicity merely looked at each other... and smiled.
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
Two hours later, they stood wrapped together in each other's arms as Nyssa and Sara walked towards them. "I know I wasn't that gracious..." Oliver began only for Felicity to dig her elbow into his ribs again.
"He means to say thank you." Felicity pulled Sara into a hug and held out her hand to Nyssa. "She may be voluntarily going back to you but she remains under the protection of my people."
"I understand." Nyssa actually smiled at that understanding where she was coming from. "I will die for her."
"I'll let her father answer that one." Felicity grinned as she felt Oliver slip his arm around her waist. "Remember, if you ever need me."
"Bitch with Wi-Fi, I know." Sara grinned at her. "And if you need to... 'talk' about Laurel..."
"I'll hold you to that, Sara." Felicity threw over her shoulder as Oliver led them away.
Nyssa moved to Sara's side and linked her arm in hers. "I like his Felicity, she's unique."
"She's Felicity." Sara replied, sighing as she watched her father and sister walk towards them in the couple's place. "And now I need to try and get Laurel to understand that she isn't the woman he loves, although if she doesn't get that by now, she really is blind to what's right under her nose."
"Perhaps you should send a message of help to the Amazon's cousins." Nyssa laughed as she walked slightly away, leaving Sara frowning. "I wish."
AAA-FOQ-AAA-FOQ-AAA
Felicity put her tablet down and pressed her head against the back of her seat, sighing heavily. Diggle looked up, putting his book down, "Felicity?"
She merely handed him her tablet which had a picture of the letter Thea had written Roy and left on his archery equipment. "Thea is still acting the angry child."
"I take it you can find her then, contrary to her opinion." Diggle looked up from the screen, smiling as she merely raised an eyebrow in reply.
Before anyone else could say anything, Oliver called from the front of the plane. "Buckle in, we're about to land."
"If we crash Oliver, I'm not going to be very happy with you." Felicity shot back, her fingernails already digging into her arm rests. "And I will make things very unhappy for you."
"I love you too, Felicity" was Oliver's only response.
Two hours later, he stood behind Felicity as she sat on a stool watching the stirring form of Slade Wilson in his prison cell. "Ten bucks the first thing he says is where am I?" She murmured to him, making him grin for a moment before it faded to grim instead.
"Where am I?" Slade indeed did ask as he turned to look at him and Felicity.
"As far away from the world as I could get you." Oliver replied, "Where you can hurt anyone ever again."
"That's your weakness kid." Slade replied as he rose to his feet. "You don't have the guts to kill me."
Felicity stirred uneasily at that, leaning back into the man in question as he squeezed her shoulder before replying himself, "No, I have the strength to let you live."
When he moved towards Slade and for the first time admitting that he was now a hero, she smiled and rose to her feet, slipping her hand into his as he thanked the other man. He then led her away stopping at the door when Slade suddenly called Felicity's name.
She turned; eyebrow raised and said "Yes."
"I know you, don't I?" He shook the bars.
"Perhaps so," She replied. "Now you have time to consider that mystery."
Oliver slammed the door on Slade's promise and pulled Felicity into his arms as they listened to him chant "I keep my promises."
"I told you he was insane before the mirakuru even took him over." She murmured as she brushed gentle fingers over his bruises around his eye. Oliver laughed slightly and lifted her onto the ladder out of the facility.
Reaching the top, they closed the hatch that led down and looked out over the island known as Lian Yu – Purgatory. Hand in hand, they walked across the beach with Diggle, Felicity leaning her head on Oliver's shoulder. "I forget how beautiful this place is – even with all its dangers. Don't get me wrong, I'm counting down the seconds till we shove off Minefield Island."
Diggle smiled at her ramble as Oliver entwined their fingers together. "Do you think that's enough to hold him? A.R.G.U.S' super-max."
Oliver sighed, "Him and anyone else we send here. This battle may be over but there will be others, starting with getting my family's company back."
"That's not going to be easy," Felicity wrapped her other hand around his arm. "I saved your home, the club and your personal fortunes, Oliver but I'm still working on the company thing."
"And I thank you for that," He replied as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Because I'm sure that there's not much in the market if I had needed to get a job that required excellent archery skills."
He looked down into her eyes as they got lost in each other once again. Rolling his own eyes, Diggle moved away to the plane, leaving them to it.
She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his around her waist. "So you did it, you really did it but then again, if it hadn't of been the truth, he would never have fallen for it because everyone knows you can't lie for toffee, Oliver."
He laughed at that, swinging her up in the air. "I really do love you, Felicity."
"I know." She replied as she drew closer. "I love you just as much."
And with that, they kissed.

Don't ask about S3, I won't go near that until I nearer the end.
Please take the opportunity to review, I have so many wonderful followers and people on alert, I would really like to hear from you all ;op
