Chapter 7
Gray was all he could see for miles. Watching as the waves angrily collided with the wall of rocks and sand, splashing up and sending salty cool ocean spray into the wind. He wanted nothing more than to grow a pair of wings and fly away. Averting his eyes to the sand, he eyed a fragment of frosty green glass that added a bit of color to the muted scenery.
"Mummy! Look what I found!"
The young child, excited of his discovery broke into a sprint. River grinned, crouching to her baby boy's level with arms open wide. Without hesitation Trevor crashed into her and the two tumbled to the sand. River couldn't resist tickling the child until he begged for mercy; then proceeding to sit up with her child in her lap.
Grinning proudly, the child opened his hands. "Isn't it pretty?"
River traced the smooth emerald colored glass that rested in the palm of Trevor's hand. "Its marvelous sweetie, but do you know what it is?"
The boy shook his head.
"It's called sea glass." Closing her sons little fist around his treasure.
"It's difficult to find, and each piece is unique."
Trevor looked up. "Like a snow flake!"
River couldn't help but smile. "Yes sweetie. Just like snowflakes."
"Or little time lords." The Doctor took a seat next to River, smiling at their little boy.
The Doctor ran his fingers through Trevor's long brown locks, pushing the bangs back, and giving his tiny shoulder a tight squeeze.
"You are far more special than you will ever know."
Ripped from his memory, he jerked around at the feeling of someone grabbing his shoulder.
"What do you want with me? Just leave me...GRANDPA?" The child cried out, throwing himself into the familiar arms.
Brian Williams lifted the small child into his arms, holding him tight and close.
"Oh Trevor. My sweet grandson."
Trevor's body shook as he wept with overwhelming joy; several long moments passed as he composed himself.
Brian moved the boy back to check him for any injuries. "Did they hurt you?" Trevor remained silent, only shaking his head, retreating back to the comfortable embrace.
"They will find us." He whispered, staring out past his grandfather at a looming figure that stood perching on a cliff, overlooking the beach. Despite the distance he immediately recognized the man by his top hat.
"Doctor Simeon…wait...How do I know that?"He thought; gasping as information began trickling into his mind, but abruptly stopping as swiftly as it began.
"Trevor? Everything alright?"
The child nodded, pushing the pounding sensation out of his head. He tightly squeezed the hazy green fragment at the impossible hope that it would force the Tardis to appear.
A young soldier ran up behind Simeon. "Doctor, it seems the child's mind is progressing more rapidly than expected."
A hideous smirk spread across the old man's face. "Excellent."
Hesitating, the soldier asked. "Sir….what do you suggest we do about the old man?"
Doctor Simeon watched as the child and his grandfather interacted on the beach below.
"Kill him."
A shot rang through the air, and Trenzalor was silenced.
HELLO FAN FICTION! Guess who, its me and I'm back! Yes that's right, I know its been a while but now that I am settled into the college you should be seeing (hopefully) more frequent postings.
Believe it or not, despite the length I actually was pulling my hair out to write this one because I couldn't please myself. The idea was inspired by my own fascination over the beauty that is sea glass, and I wanted to write Trevor on a beach the bears heavy resemblance to the shores of Alfava Metraxis(Featured in "Crash of the Byzantium"). This should make more sense in a later chapter. Also please leave some feedback, I always reply (unless left as a guest).
On a final note, if you have not read my other WhoFic "The Little Girl Hidden in the Alley", I suggest you do so, and expect to see an additional chapter to that as well!
THANK YOU!
