Chapter 23: Allied Visits
A/N: forgive me if this chapter isn't quite right with the TV series. I couldn't find the proper information on line.
1725hrs Cimmeria (P3X-974): Teal'c exited the wormhole joining everyone else. He looked up at Thor's Hammer remembering first time he was here. It wasn't one of his most pleasant memories even if it ended well. The wormhole disengaged behind Teal'c as he stepped off the platform. The two SG team had a defensive parameter already set up. They were waiting for the Cimmerians to contact them per SOP (standard operating procedure). A voice rang out from the tree line "Ye shall not pass travelers from afar until ye sing the song!" they heard.
Everyone smirked then looked at Jayne. The jaffa gave Sergeant Major Cobb a pointed look. "Get to Jayne, you drew the short straw!" Lt. Col. Malcolm Reynolds ordered with a smile. "Awe, Mal! Do I have to? I mean my straw wasn't that short." he asked while Sgt. Rogers and SPC Tam snickered. "Just think next time we have a straw pull you don't have to participate." Major Washburn reminded him of their team rules. "Gorramit, this is a bunch of Goshee." Jayne set Helga(FN M240 7.62x51mm) down before standing up. "Remember, act it out as well." Captain Washburn piped in with a smile. Jayne shot him a dirty look as he began to sing.
"I'm a little teapot short and stouts, here is my handle, here is my spout, when I get all steamed up I just shout, tip me over and pour me out…." he sang in a gruff voice . The others could barely contain their laughter. Once Jayne finished everyone was busting their guts. The trees burst out with equal laughter as the speaker from before bellowed out "You may pass my brothers and sisters from midgard. Let us all rejoice and celebrate your return." said a Thord son of Gairwyn.
Everyone was too busy greeting their allies and friends to see Teal'c smile briefly. Thord and Jayne greeted each other as warriors. "What brings you back my friends?" Thord said slinging his M14 battle rifle over his left shoulder opposite his short sword. "Where are Lord O'Neill and Princess Samantha?" he asked as well. Jack and Sam were given titles of respect after SG1's successful defeat of Heru'ur's invasion.
Both of them tried to talk Gairwyn out of it to no avail. Daniel gave them hell about it until he was given the title of 'tongues'. Surprisingly it was Sam that got Daniel to drop it with a threat of 'or else'. The 'or else' was enough warning for him? Teal'c was made the 'Lord of War' due to his fearlessness in battle.
Teal'c approached Erikson and bowed respectfully. At 6'5" Erikson was the Cimmerians Warrior Leader. "We have returned to your planet seeking help. Lord O'Neill has been gravely injured. Princess Samantha is at his side." Erikson's face went from jovial to concern. Everyone around them had stopped to listen. "WHO DARE ATTACK Lord O'Neill? Have they been captured and punished?" he boomed in a loud voiced. "The Tau'ri has laws that interfere with our ways of justice. However do not fret my friend; the persons responsible will pay dearly for this transgression." Teal'c told him sincerely.
The Cimmerian leader turned to face his fellow Vikings then spoke "Lord O'Neill and his brethren need our help. We shall help them as they need." he spoke in reference to his Midgard cousins. "How may we help thee?" he asked Teal'c. "We ask your permission to use the Horgr (Viking religious site). Colonel Reynolds needs to contact Thor for assistance." He asked his tall friend then continued. "Gen. Hammond also ordered SG25 and myself to contact the Tok'Ra." the jaffa finished. "Whatever ye need my brother. It's a shame that ye can't stay. I would like another chance to fight ye." Erikson lamented. "Once Lord O'Neill is returned to good health we shall return to celebrate jovially. Until next time my friends." Teal'c promised then addressed SG25.
"Lt. Colonel Malcolm Reynolds, we must depart now." With their farewells said Kylee dialed the Tok'ra planet up with a smile. "Isn't it shiny how the gate works? I wish I could take one apart." she commented mostly to herself. "Anything that's mechanical isn't safe around you girly." Jayne responded as he watched the wormhole form mesmerized as well.
Sophia thoughts drifted back to her teammates. She remembered the celebration after Heru'ur's defeat. The colonel & major were treated like royalty. They both loosened up after they had some of the local brew. Daniel of course was out after his first drink. Both officers danced every dance together fitting like a glove.
The pair woke up together in a Viking 'Marriage' tent much to their groans of 'Not again'. Sam later confided in her that she rather liked waking up next to Jack. She even confirmed that neither had a stitch of clothing on when they woke up. However the major didn't confirm or deny if anything happened between them behind a sly smile.
Sophia also remembered Teal'c and Sergeant Nantz's demonstration of fighting styles. That was hilarious watching a drunken Nantz fight Teal'c. It was too bad that Daniels camcorder was destroyed in the firefight. The other thing she remembered was Thord. He was 6' tall and all muscle with rugged good looks. Thord was a charmer as well. Nothing happened between them much to her disliking. He didn't want to disappoint his mother which he revered. Thord escorted Sophia to her tent (a non-marriage one) then kissed her on the cheek. That was almost 3 years ago. Thord was married now with a son.
She found hunk of a man that loved her. Sophia smiled internally happy at that thought. She had only been dating Jayne about a month. Instead of giving her flowers on their anniversary Jayne named his favorite rifle after her, Vera. Who says romance is dead. Sophia was brought out of her thoughts by the very man she was thinking about. "You coming Rogers or do I got to carry you?" Jayne asked mischievously. Of course she wanted him to carry her. That just wouldn't be within the regulations. "I'm coming Cobb, can't a lady daydream?" Sophia replied. She then playfully swayed her hips walking past him into the open wormhole. Jayne did the only thing he could do; follow her like a lost little puppy.
Erikson watched the wormhole disengage. He turned around looking at his fellow Vikings then barked orders like a Master Drill Sergeant would. "Alf, go ahead of us to inform Gairwyn of SG3s request. I'll escort them to the village. Thord, the gate is your charge now. Olaf's squad will be here to relieve ye soon."
Teal'c and SG25 avoided stumbling upon exiting the wormhole. The tok'ra practice of having the stargate sunken was common knowledge amongst the SGC. The small group stopped 10ft away from the stargate waiting for their allies to appear. "Why does the tok'ra have to use sandy planets? I really hate sand. It makes cleaning my ladies hard." Jayne grumbled loudly. "The Goa'uld doesn't find barren planets useful, that's why. The tok'ra uses this to their advantage." SPC Tam explained to him rolling her eyes. "As true as that is albatross I agree with Jayne. Did I just say what I think I said?" Malcolm asked out loud. "Yes Sir, you did." Zoe confirmed for her C.O. "You say that like it's a bad thing Mal!" Jayne replied a little miffed. Sophia was still in front of him swaying her hips causing Jayne to stumble a bit. "Pay attention Man-ape, still learning first aide…" SPC River ribbed the big man. "Don't worry Cobb; I'll take care of you." Sophia said just loud enough for Jayne to hear putting a smile on his face. River just rolled her eyes again.
"We are not alone, be still my friends." Teal'c said as no less that 10 tok'ra warriors popped up out of the sand. They were dressed in modern American desert camouflage. Their weapons were a mix of Galil battle riffles (Israeli battle rifle) and staff weapons. "Kree! Advance no further. Identify yourselves at once!" the leader ordered pointing his M9 Beretta at the group.
Lt. Col. Reynolds team reacted to their sudden appearance by going into a battle stance. With weapons pointed all around Teal'c stepped forward planting the butt of his staff weapon in the sand. "It is I, Teal'c of Chulak, ally of the Tau'ri. We come in search of assistance." he spoke looking straight at the tok'ra leader. "Teal'c of Chulak, what is the password?" the leader said gripping his weapon nervously. The tok'ra leader was fresh out of their version of officer training. Sel'mack had lectured his group telling stories of SG1, particularly Teal'c.
"Goa'uld wears pink underwear while singing the Mac Arena." he replied. Jayne and Rogers both turned to look at the jaffa as if he had lost his mind. What kind of password is that Jayne thought? Sophia had a sneaking suspicion that her CO had a hand in it.
"Lower your weapons, their friendly." Robert, host of Ock'er said in a British accent. With the tension gone SG25 slung their weapons waiting for Teal'c orders. Malcolm really didn't like being around the tok'ra even if they were allies. Being snaked gave him the creeps. The rest of the team was divided on their thoughts. Jayne, he just was paranoid around them.
"How may we be of help old boy, the next resupply isn't until next week." Robert asked. "Col. O'Neill has been gravely injured. We need immediate assistance with a poison that is attacking his organs." he explained. "O'Neill is a good chap. He's a sarcastic SOB, but a good chap." Robert replied in good humor. (A/N 1) "Roc'nor, you stay here and guard the chappa' ai while I take Teal'c and friends to see Garshaw." The British tok'ra order then smirked. "Maybe he'll let Anise assist our allies."
Sergeant Rogers rolled her eyes at the mention of Anise. "what's wrong girly, I could hear your eyes rolling."Jayne asked her. "Anise, she's going to all but run to the gate just to help the colonel." she told her boyfriend. "Did something happen between them? I thought it was Major Carter then he loved." Jayne said gruffly. Sophia walked up beside him jumping up and smacking him in the head. "Hey! What was that for?" She sighed then spoke "Of course the Colonel loves her. You've seen them together. Anise made a move on Col. O'Neill once. The colonel resisted informing her that he wasn't interested." she explained in a hushed voice.
"Why wasn't he? She's all women except for the snake part. None the less, if I wasn't with you I wouldn't turn her down." Jayne said without thinking earning him another smack. "What did I say this time?" he replied rubbing the back of his head. "If you got to ask I'm not going to tell you." Sophia said walking ahead of him. "Well hell, don't that beat all. I just made a comment is all women!" River who was just in front of the two overheard their conversation just smiled. She watched Sergeant Rogers walk past her in a huff starting up a conversation with Major Zoe Washburn.
River slowed up enough for Jayne to catch up. "You're not going to hit me too are you crazy?" he asked getting ready for another smacking. "You're a boob like my brother." she replied then walked back up to where she was previously.
The meeting with Garshaw didn't last more than an hour. Much to the groups dislike Garshaw let them have the tok'ra Barbie doll. He also agreed to let her stay as long needed. "That was entirely too easy. Garshaw didn't even hesitate to let her go. Something's up." said Malcolm. "Ah, come on colonel! They are our allies. Their helping us is all." Kylee replied bubbly. "The colonel's right, that was way too easy." Zoe commented.
In the corridors music could be heard. It was Shania Twain to be exact. Robert was escorting the tau'ri to Anise's lab smiling internally. He thought to himself 'finally were going to have some peace and quiet.' The group rounded the corner finding Anise in her lab. She was wearing shinny jeans and an I LOVE BRADPITTt-shirt. The song 'Any Man of Mine' was blaring from the CD player. Posters of Brad Pitt, Shania Twain and Garth Brooks adorned the walls. "The general is going to kill us for sure!" Zoe deadpan. "Is that before or after he has a heart attack?" replied her husband. "Before, defiantly before!" answered Malcolm. "Indeed, we are deceased!" said Teal'c.
A/N 1: the tok'ra was ecstatic at the news of the Queen Mother, Egeria, was found. The tok'ra was able to heal her and replenish their numbers after centuries of losses. The alliance between the two was renegotiated creating a better exchange of information and corporation. What helped the most was tau'ri willing to become hosts. Those that chose to become blended served with both the SGC and tok'ra. That alone strengthened the alliance greatly. SG1 had received a presidential award for their efforts in recovering Egeria. This left a bad taste in SG11. That was supposed to be their mission until a last minute change. The Pangerans heard about Dr. Jackson then requested him personally. SG1 got the glory like always fueling SG11's dislike of the flagship team.
