Chapter 6
You know that feeling when you miss something so much, that the moment you gain that feeling again it's like your heart must explore because you feel so happy. As if you never thought you could feel that same feeling ever again, but you did and you remember how good it feels to take it in. That's the feeling I got when I was on my nimbus 6000, when I had the wind blowing in my face, and my hair that is always in bun ALWAYS, loses its hair tie and my curls fly free. These are things I miss about fighting, these were the feelings my parents never let me have. Jesse had signalled everyone to the ground.
"Okay, team time!" Jesse yells.
"Calm down, mate. Team captains, let's go Dom and Chace." Freddie choses
"I got my girl." I grab Dom's arm. It's kind of like tradition that we always play together.
"Merlin's beard." I heard Chace yell. I turned to see him looking at me. I gave him a questioning look.
"Ari, your hairs s… so much like our ... Ah never mind"
"It's ok Chace you can say it. You want her hair. I mean everyone does. It's has a prefect curls, ringlets to waves ratio, she has every girls envy but she still hides it in a bun." Dom jokes dramatically.
I just shook my head, merlin she's dramatic.
"You do have pretty hair, A." Timmy says in that zoned out mode he has where he just dazes off.
"Thanks, T."
"Okay come on guys we all know how beautiful Ari's hair is, but we're here to play a fair game of Quidditch." James announces. Huh.
"Yeah let's get going."
"Hey guys leave me out the first round, I'm going to do some laps." I told the gang and kicked off the ground before they could stop me. I guess I'm always been afraid that I will forget how to play. Even know sometimes it feels I was born for Quidditch, But while my friends played with their families in their holidays I stayed locked away in my cosy room where I imagined playing with them, but only in my head.
All of a sudden I felt really dizzy, my broom started to swerve from side to side. I tried to get closer to the ground, but as if there was a wall in front of me, a force throws me off my broom. I watched as the sky became further away, hearing people screaming out my name from afar and then an impacted of darkness.
James POV
I watched as she fell, instincts kicked in. I flew as fast as I could towards her, but I was too late she had hit the ground. I leaped off my broom.
"Ari" I scream.
"Aria, wake up"
"Jackson" I cried. Someone was trying to pull me away.
"James Its okay, she's gonna be okay mate."
I don't even know who was even talking I could barely hear them. All I could think about was Ari who layed on the ground her hair covering her beautiful face as Dom pressed her fingers against her now pale neck and removed her hair from her face it was so pale. Beau had taken off towards the castle.
Fred and Tim let go of my shoulders. I dropped to my knees, I just wanted to touch her but scared that I could do something to harm her more. I looked up seeing tears stream down Doms face next to her was Chace holding both Dom and Ari's hand. What was he doing he had no right, he barely knew her but tears were forming in his eyes. Who does he think he is? Anger took over my body. Before I could acted on it there was a crack Professor McGonagall, Professor Longbottom ran to us.
"We must get her to the hospital wing, now Neville."
Within moments Ari was gone, just as I was about to face Chace he had already started running towards the castle. I grabbed Dom around the waist from where she sat of the ground.
"She's going to be ok Cuz, Its okay." Dom wiped away her tears.
"How do you know that, James." she asked I thought about it.
"Because I haven't got to tell her that I love her yet." Dom smiled through all the tears she had shed for her best friend.
"She wouldn't miss out on that, EVER!"
When we arrived in the hospital wing, Chace was sitting on a chair beside the bed she layed on. That was it, as I got closer to him I grabbed his collar.
"What's your deal, man!" he yelled
"James what are you doing?!" Dom screamed
"Look mate lately I've been watching you and Pru a lot, just because we're fighting, doesn't mean I don't care about her, okay. One thing I've notice is that you have become close but not that close that you can sit here when all her friends want to see her just as much as the other. So what makes you so special huh, have you got feelings for her. Is that why you're holding her hand huh?"
He liked her that asshole, argh who am I joking I've avoiding her for weeks. I let go of Chace's collar apologized with a whisper, then went towards Pru and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead and whispered…
"I love you too," and headed towards the doors to the hospital wing.
"James," I was outside the doors now. Chace ran in front of me.
"Look James, it's not what you think," Chace tells me.
"It doesn't matter, it's okay Chace you don't need to explain. You've been there for her when I wasn't, you've been good to her, she's so much happier you know. She's smiling, merlin she never smiles around people these days."
"No James, seriously it's not like that, look mate I can't tell you why I am the way I am around her but just know that I do not have romantic feelings towards Aria trust me and I never will have them. You'll understand soon. She just has to know first, but for me to tell her I have to earn her trust."
I had forgotten about everything that had just happened I trusted his words.
"Tell her what though?" I questioned
"Like I said she has to know first" he replied "Come on mate, let's go back and see your girl" I nodded. "I know how much she means to you, you made that pretty clear about 10 minutes ago."
