Summary: Appearing in a confusing wave of distorted data the seven digidestined enter the digiworld. Years, decades, before their time an immortal and frustrated wizard made a deal with Death. In return for the Resurection stone he may have a chance to start over- but Death is a fickle partner and the deal is twisted, leaving him in an eleven year-old body, immortal and unchanging.
Disclaimer: Don't own Harry Potter or Digimon- but if I owned a digimon I would be wooping for joy right about now.
Side note: All chapters will be from one character's 3rd person POV every other chapter will be from Harry's
Harry:
It was foggy, and somehow Harry knew he wasn't in the cave anymore. Her sat up from where he lay suspended in the fog and stretched, idly noting that at least this time he had clothes on (1). He sat there for a while before idly raising a hand and prodding the fog that shifted into a swirling colorful mess.
"Huh…" he mused and grabbed one of the tendrils making him feel like he was being sucking forward, distorting the fabric of reality around him until he was deposited back on a bench somewhere completely different, though quite familiar.
It felt a lot like the times he had used a pensive before and, true to form, none of the people walking around Potter Manor could see him. He stood and followed his memory-self who looked to be about nineteen who was dashing into one of the rooms.
"Ginny! Oh thank Merlin you're alright- I thought Avery got you. Is the baby alright?" The words came out in a tumble and the red-head in the bed in front of him gave him a teary-eyed expression and he froze.
"The baby's dead Harry. Our-our baby is dead." She burst into tears and he quickly gathered her into his arms and rocked her back and forth. "N-not not only th-that b-but I- I can never ha-ve-" she broke out in fresh tears and couldn't continue but Harry had heard enough and clenched his eyes shut over her shoulder.
"It's okay love, there's adoption. All I care about right now is that you're alive and safe." Present-harry turned away from the rest of the memory. He'd played the night over and over again in his head since it happened. He didn't need to see it as a captive audience.
His clenched fist loosened and he found himself back in the void of swirling mist. He glanced around at the rest of the mist, realizing belatedly that he was probably in his mind. At random he grabbed another strand and felt the uncomfortable distorted feeling again.
Past Harry was around twenty and was standing before Ginny's grave, staring at the letters that made up her name as though just reading them intently enough would bring her back. After an uncertain amount of time- that present-harry spent watching the grave sadly- past-harry sighed and conjured up a bouquet of lilies, lying them on her grave.
"Ron wanted to be here, but he doesn't want what happened to you to happen to Hermione, so they're in his house under Fidelus. I know that's making Hermione crazy, you know her. I can't imagine she enjoys being laid up for months at a time- but I suppose it's part of the Weasley family curse isn't it." He chuckled sadly.
"There was a girl at the orphanage we looked at. She was so sweet and gentle. She reminded me of you when you were a girl, but she got adopted before I got up the courage to speak to the matron." He turned away sadly. "I'll come back some-time, I promise." But present Harry knew that it was the last time he'd ever spoken to her grave and his hand loosened again, leaving him back in the swirling void.
He sighed at the thought of watching more memories but grabbed a random thread and prepared for the ride.
"I'm done dammit! I'm done with all of this, just give me a chance to start over!" present-Harry watched as his past self ran a furious had through his hair, pacing in front of a ash-skinned androgynous figure with empty black eyes that seemed to stare at him dangerously.
"Start over" The voice was like a thousand screaming souls, neither man nor woman, "And what would you give me to have this chance?" Past-Harry whirled on his heel.
"Anything, I just want Ginny back- I don't even care if she doesn't love me." The figure stirred lazily at that.
"I want my resurrection stone, it is… inconvenient when I am torturing someone and you call them away." Harry narrowed his eyes.
"Would I still be your master?"
Death grinned, a menacing black-toothed grin, "No, though you would still have a small measure of control over me." It grinned mischievously again, "And you are still not able to die."
Harry hesitated for only a second then pulled the Guant-ring from around his neck and tossed it to the spirit.
Death caught it deftly. "Your wish is my command, no-longer-master." And even without present-Harry letting the void-wisp go he was thrust back into nothingness.
Harry grumbled about filthy, lying spirits.
"Now that's not very nice, is it?" He jerked his head up to see Death leaning on a goat-herd's staff languidly. "I gave you your chance didn't I? I even gave you Ginevra back- though I did change her a bit, that I will admit."
"You turned her into a male digimon- that's a little more than a bit." Death shrugged unrepentantly then pointed at him with a finger that was little more than skin and bone.
"You have died, again. I do not appreciate pulling you back from this place often so do not do it again."
Harry rolled his eyes, "If it bothers you so much why don't you just let me die?" Death waved him away flippantly.
"Can't do that. It was one of the conditions of our agreement if you remember." The grin Harry received was just a hair from bone-chilling. Death sighed again and twirled the staff he was leaning on, until it was spinning around him, the action seeming subconscious. "It is time for you to return. Aren't you glad I gave you an uncle that loves you?"
"You basically turned Sirius into a giant wolf. Whether he loves me or not is a little moot as he keeps killing me in the process." Death shrugged again, the spinning stopped.
"He doesn't know he's killed you. Now." A bony finger in his face, "Wake up, I have souls to torture."
And back in reality Harry took a gasping breath of air.
A/N: He back. Sorry about the lateness- I actually finished this chapter a while ago but never got around to actually posting it. Sorry!
SinOfDisaster: I am sorry to admit I hadn't gotten that far with my planning, it's partially why the chapters take so long. I do however think that I'll leave him in the digimon world- though I may have him cross over to the real world once or twice because the digimon do it in the anime. I don't know about him being super strong for season two but we'll see about that.
