Hi guys, it's been a while...lol. This past semester was killer; I studied my ass off and I think I finally found my work ethic. I'm sorry y'all had to wait so long though- I appreciate those of you who clung to hope. I told myself that I HAD to update this story over the break and I present you with my work! Thanks again to my beta reader who even after four months was still willing to read for me 3.

The two hunters began their late-night patrol at the most obvious place, the local bar. They left the car along with their larger weaponry parked away from the more lively part of the inner-village area.

The pair approached the entrance to the run-down bar. Nero eyed Dante for a few seconds before breaking the silence.

"Uh, Dante, you do remember that I'm not 21 right?"

The older slayer smirked.

"Oh yeah kid, I'm aware," he began, "Around here though, people don't really care. As long as you don't make any trouble they couldn't care less."

A small smile crept over Nero's face- all right.

"But don't get too excited kid; all you'll be getting is ginger ale. I doubt you can hold your liquor anyways."

Nero shot Dante a death glare.

The inside of the bar was surprisingly lively and full of people. It wasn't quite the scene that Bourbon Street was, but fairly active for the village's small façade.

The silver-haired pair took a seat at an empty table along the far side of the wall. The interior of the joint was old and worn. A dozen tables were scattered in the middle of the large room with booths and smaller tables lining the walls.

Dante immediately grabbed for the menu and began flipping through the pages, probably looking for the drink specials.

Nero did all that he could, watch people. It was an older crowd that populated the bar. He was obviously the youngest, but nobody seemed to pay him much thought.

"Welcome, what can I start you two gentlemen off with this evening?" the middle-aged waitress asked. She looked un-enthusiastic to be working.

"I'll go with a tall house beer and my associate will have a ginger ale," Dante ordered.

The waitress rolled her weary eyes over to Nero.

"Don't want my DD getting hammered," Dante chuckled while poking an elbow in Nero's direction.

The younger slayer gave a sarcastic laugh and crossed him arms across his chest.

The waitress nodded and headed to the bar; she would surely take her sweet time filling the order.

"Okay enough of this shit Dante, let's get to work on figuring this out," Nero stated.

"Cool your jets kid; I know what I'm doing." He leaned back in his chair and rest his arm across the back of the chair. "Be patient and relax."

"While we are 'relaxing' there are people out there being murdered!"

Nero had his hands clenched into fists; his devil-bringer was surely glowing under the thick sleeve of his jacket in response.

Dante let out a long sigh. "I'm very aware of that Nero. I needed to check this place out though since it is in the heart of the village that the people began missing. As I expected though it's full of older people who are clearly not the targets."

The younger slayer leaned back in his seat and mulled this over for a moment. The things Dante did seemed pointless at times, but in all honesty he kind of knew what he was doing most of the time.

"Yeah, I see what you mean. But you know, you could fill me in once in a while so I'm not always completely out of the loop."

"Aw I can't do that, I love it when you get pissed and throw bitch-fits kid," Dante laughed out loud at this.

Nero was about to come across the table at him when the waitress showed up.

"Here are your drinks gentlemen, enjoy."

Nero snatched his ginger ale off the table and took a large gulp. Dante smirked and dramatically took a long drink from his beverage. The two sat in silence for a bit as they scanned the room for anything unusual.

Two hours and over half a dozen beers later they were ready to go.

Nothing had struck them as suspicious, except the guy in the corner mumbling- but the waitress informed them that he had been at the bar drinking since noon that day.

Nero led the way out of the bar with Dante close behind.

"Hey old man, want me to drive us back?" Nero questioned.

Dante gripped the rail leading from the front of the bar down to the street tightly before answering. "Not a chance kid!"

Nero rolled his eyes, "I thought I was the DD."

"Who told you that?"

The elder slayer walked to the driver's side of the car and fumbled for a brief second with the keys. It was a short drive back to the hotel; Nero assumed that they would somehow survive. Despite how Dante looked to some, Nero knew that he was far from being seriously drunk. He had only seen him hammered a few times; his smart-ass behavior and temper would shoot through the roof.

The engine roared to life and Dante grinned while turning up the dial to increase the volume. The hits from the 80's were back to ruin Nero's life once again.

The black car roared out of the parking lot and sloppily onto the highway. Nero's hand tightened onto the handle of the door.

"Since when are you a nervous rider kid?"

The younger slayer peered over at Dante.

"Since your driving got a thousand times shittier."

Dante glared back at Nero for a moment, when his gaze returned to the road he swerved a little to miss an oncoming car.

"That handle won't save you kid," Dante laughed and gave the car more gas.

"I hope you get a hangover asshole…"

After what seemed like an uneventful day the next morning brought along hope for some progress on the mission. Nero awoke early enough to get breakfast and decided that Dante needed his beauty sleep as payback for yesterday's antic.

The plan for the day was unclear to Nero; the only thing he knew was that that evening they were headed into the city to begin investigating there.

Nero watched the news while he waited for Dante to finally wake up. Occasionally he would turn the volume up to help speed up the process. The only response he got was the elder slayer turning over and placing a pillow over his head.

"What a lazy ass. Dante wake up!" Nero said while watching the form lie on the bed next to his.

It seemed pretty clear that he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. His expression fell. Deciding that he wasn't going to wait on his partner all day he decided to work on the case alone for a while.

The younger hunter scribbled a note on a free piece of paper then gathered his gear before leaving, taking the keys with him.

Dante waited for the door to close before wearily peering around the room. He spotted the note that Nero had left next to the TV. then rolled back over. He deemed it okay for Nero to go out on his own for a few hours- it was still morning anyways, how much trouble could he get into?

Sidenote: Soo, while I was away from writing I stumbled into a new fandom- a little show called SUPERNATURAL! I had never seen the show before like three or so months ago, and it's a gem. I may write a Supernatural story in the future, who knows. I can tell you that if I do it will have Castiel 3.
