Okay, since I didn't have any questions for the "Questions For Dodo" section last time, I decided to put it first, since we had quite a few questions from an awesome reader named KiwiSplash.

Daphne's reaction to seeing all the questions: Dang, Girl! (Or boy, I'm assuming girl, so sorry if you're a guy.) That's a lot of questions, that are all over the place! … I like you!

KiwiSplash: What is your favorite food?

Daphne: Well, I am a bird, so I love seeds and bread! I LOVE bread! AND CORN! AHHH! My mouth's watering just thinking about it.

Your favorite dessert?

Daphne: As long as it's sugar, I don't care!

What do you want your kid/s to look like?

Daphne: Hmm. My kids... This is a tough one. If I even have them,(I know this might come off as mean), but... DEFINITELY NOT like what Dee and Dumb said! (Sorry Elliot!) Otherwise, I don't really care. As long as they're healthy, and maybe if I love their father (which I better, since I'm having his children!) then I guess, I'd want them to look like him.

What time of day do you want to get married?

Daphne: I'm actually more for a late afternoon- sun setting time. I've always thought sunsets were romantic, so that's why.

What toilet paper do you use?

Daphne: This is gonna sound bad, on my part, but I don't actually know the brand it is. Deloris took care of that kind of stuff. All I know is that it's very soft and doesn't fall apart easily. So when the supply runs out, I'm DOOMED!

Have you ever heard of anime?

Daphne: *Looks to TA*

TA: It's Japanese cartoons.

Daphne: I still have no idea what that is. So no I have never heard of it, yet.

What if I told you there is a manga and movie and the dodo isn't there?

Daphne: What's a manga? *Looks to TA*

TA: It's a Japanese version of a comic book.

Daphne: *nods* Okay, I kinda know what that is. And back to the actual question... WHAT?! I'M NOT in it! UH, HOW DARE THEY! I'm gonna go have a word with the other Role Holders! *heads towards door*

TA: Before you go, how about the last question?

Daphne: *stops and turns back to me* Hahahaha. Riiiight. *comes back*

There is a male dodo named Jericho. Have you met him?

Daphne: Hmmmm. Jericho? I haven't heard of another Dodo of that name, so he can't be the Dodo, because I'm the Dodo. Unless... he's my... replacement! *Goes down on knees and cries out to the sky* WHY?! WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS!

TA: Uhhh, Daph? *taps shoulder* *whispers in ear*

Daphne: *stands fuming* THAT'S Jericho?! THAT ********* ******** ******* ****** ***** ******! HOW DARE HE! *storms out of room*

TA: *sighs and shakes head* At least it's never boring with her around. Luckily, she won't be able to find him anytime soon, in case you're worried about him. (For the record, Daphne was cursing, but the stars do not represent any actual words, so don't try to figure out what she's saying, or if you do figure something funny out let me know. ;) Because I wasn't recording the actual curse words star for letter.)

So Daphne and I would like to give a special thanks to KiwiSplash for all those awesome questions! Which proves we accept anything and will have Daphne answer it. Hope you enjoyed Daphne's answers and reactions! So please ask questions for her. (It really makes her happy!) Now back to our regular programming. ;)

So Chapter 5! YAY! And this makes 2 updates in like what? 2 or 3 days? I'm on a roll! This probably won't happen again until Christmas break, but I'll definitely try to update at least once before then. Plus I was super motivated because this is where I've been waiting to write the story from.

So you know the drill: QuinRose owns HNKNA series, characters, setting, etc. I only own Daphne the Dodo, my plot, and the new characters that will be debuted in this chapter. YAY, new characters!

Also, chapter title inspired by 'Where's Waldo?'.

Hmmm. Where am I? And why does my head hurt?! I sit up and rub my head, keeping my eyes closed. I message my head a little, and feel something hard on my forehead. What the hell? I open my eyes to look at my hand. Flaked, dried blood was on it. My eyes narrow with suspicion, before widening at my surroundings.

White nothingness. Absolutely nothing, with white everywhere I looked. No windows, no doors, nothing! I wasn't sure if the room was small or large, because everything was painted white, or just was white.

"Where am I?" I ask to the empty room, standing on weak legs.

As soon as I stand a red and black vortex hole appears. Two figures come out. One looked like something from a nightmare; a black shadowy figure with red glowing eyes. The other was just a boy. With a face. He looked to be a couple years older than me. He had goggles on his head and was holding a shovel, which caused my eyes to narrow in on the dried blood on it's end.

"YOU!" I take a menacing step towards the boy. "YOU hit me!" I yell getting angry, completely ignoring the shadow man.

The boy looked somewhat afraid and took a step back, not saying anything, but looking to the shadow man. The figure moved in front of him, drawing my attention away from the boy.

"Sorry about that. But I needed Jericho to get you here, and that way seemed to be less of a hassle." The figure's deep voice said with sophistication that not even Vivaldi possessed.

"Who are you? Where are we? And why am I here?" I demand, though I am afraid of this shadow creature, though I don't know why.

"Come now, Dodo. You should know who I am, without needing to ask." The shadow man said walking towards me. "As to where. We're still in Wonderland, just a different dimension. My dimension."

My heart froze as I thought about it. Then forcefully shook my head; which hurt, a lot. "No. You're dead. You're supposed to be dead! The Dodo retired you!" I took a step back, afraid it was really him.

I could see the smile on the shadow's face. "Unfortunately, you didn't do a thorough job, Dodo. I had enough energy to bring myself here, and slowly regenerate myself. It's taken a long time, and I'm not back to full strength yet. But I will be. Soon."

"Then why bring me here?" I ask, feeling the most afraid I've ever felt in my entire life cycle.

"To kill you, of course." The shadow says matter-o-factly with a smile. His figure changes shape in front of my eyes, into that of a dragon.

"No!" I cry and turn to run.

DODO

(No one's perspective)

All the Role Holders had assembled except for two in the field. They were all waiting in little territory groups, or away from the others by themselves. Some looked annoyed, but all were worried. The two missing were Ace and Dodo. Ace not showing up yet, was to be expected, but Dodo? She would have been the first one here.

Vivaldi walked over to Blood, because she was so worried. "She isn't here yet."

"There's nothing to worry about yet. She's probably running late. It does happen, you know." Blood says, an annoyed look on his face, but inside, he was just as worried.

"Well when should we start to worry?" Vivaldi asks impatiently.

"When your knight shows up. If he beats her here, then something's definitely up. Besides, they could be together. You know that bird can't mind her own business, and always goes after that knight." Blood says calmly.

The twins nod behind him. "Yeah, boss is so smart!" Dum says.

"She's probably with the stu-, um... knight." Dee gets out, remembering Dodo's words about calling people names.

Nightmare stood next to Julius listening in to everyone's worried thoughts.

"Well?" Julius asks.

"They're all worried. Something feels off to me, too." Nightmare sighs.

Everyone was whispering to themselves, when there was a rustling in the bushes. Everyone quieted and looked in the direction of the noise. All had hope in their eyes, that they'd been worried over nothing. When Ace stumbled into the clearing.

"Awww~ You're all waiting on me. How sweet." The red-eyed knight smiled.

"Where's Dodo?" Vivaldi cuts right to the issue with her subordinate.

"Huh?" Ace looks at everyone in the field, noticing that a certain little bird was unaccounted for. "She's not already here? She said she was going to come early and get everything ready."

"So, she's not with you?" Nightmare walks over to them.

"No. I haven't seen her since the last time period." Ace answers.

All the Role Holders stand frozen in fear at the realization that something's wrong.

"We need to go look for her." Gray recovers and speaks first, making the others come back to reality. They all nod in agreement.

"We'll split up, and search everywhere." The Warden Joker says. "Everybody break up into groups of two or three."

"What if she left to the land of the Foreigners?" Gowland asks.

"No. She wouldn't do that." Ace said. "She said she'd see me today at the game."

The others nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, Dodo-chan wouldn't leave." Dum says. "Not without saying goodbye." Dee finishes.

With that said, everyone paired up and went off in all directions, intending to search every square inch of their Wonder World.

All the groups returned, looking defeated. No one had found any sign of her.

"What if she's home?" Boris asked, laying on the ground. "None of us can go in there without her, so maybe...?"

"She isn't there." Nightmare says with sad confidence.

"How do you know?" Almost everyone asked in unison.

Nightmare sighed. "I had hoped to let you all find out in a different way... I can read minds."

"WHAT?!" Everyone yelled together.

"You didn't think to tell us this sooner?" The Warden Joker asked, anger in his voice.

"Now, Joker, I'm sure he had his reasons." The Jester Joker said calming his counterpart.

"Besides, Dodo knows I can read minds, so she would know to answer me, at least, with her mind." Nightmare says.

"Well, let's all go look around her house. We know the general location. Maybe there's something you missed." Elliot says with hope.

"What do we have to lose?" Blood asks, shrugging his shoulders. He looked helplessly at his sister, barely keeping her composure. He couldn't even comfort her. They needed something. Anything.

They all left the field and made their way to the location of Dodo's home. Some called out her name, others looked to the forest for answers. Hoping to find any sign of her.

Gray narrowed his eyes as he saw something bright blue in a bush. He bent down to pick it up when a hand shot out and smacked his hand.

"Don't touch anything!" The Warden Joker said looking at the plant with one of Dodo's feathers ensnared in it's branches.

His warning drew everyone's attention and they all crowded around looking to see what it was.

The Warden pointed to the ground by the plant. "Look, there's blood here."

Everyone became afraid from this knowledge.

"It's not much. So she should still be alive, but something definitely happened here." The Warden continued.

"It's odd. If I hadn't noticed the feather, we wouldn't have found the blood." Gray says.

"This is her forest. It's connected to her. So she probably had it take a feather for us to find." Julius says logically.

Everyone nods somewhat robotically. All feeling less like themselves knowing that something had happened to their friend, and right after losing her mentor and protector.

"You're right." Nightmare says. The others look at him questioningly. "Some of you are thinking it's quite the coincidence for this to happen so soon after The Dodo passed. She would have been able to protect Dodo. Without her, and Dodo being so young... it leaves her very vulnerable."

The realization rocks them all to the core. Someone wanted to hurt The Dodo, or worse... They all felt numb and some of them sat on the ground because their legs were going to give out.

"Let's go back to my Tower in Clover. Maybe my father can find something?" Nightmare says. Everyone slowly makes their way to the Clover Tower.

"Father, something happened!" Nightmare calls as he quickly enters his father's office.

"Yes, the Dodo is missing. I felt a disturbance." He walks over to the bookcase and opens the secret passage into his private office. There are books along all the walls, a table with chairs, and a large mirror are also in the room.

"What do we need in here?" Nightmare asks.

"I need to have the others drink the Medicine of Clover."

"Why?" Nightmare is alarmed by this. He knew that the medicine was made to help people forget. But no one would want to forget her.

"They won't completely forget her. It's just to make her seem like less of a person and more of a memory; that way it won't hurt them as much. And in time, if she doesn't return, they will eventually be able to forget on their own." His father explains.

"Will I have to drink it too?" Nightmare asks.

"It'll help the pain." His father says gently, and puts a light green tinted vile with a clover topper.

"Alright." Nightmare gives a small smile and uncorks it. He takes a small sip and his father leaves. Once his father is out of the room, Nightmare spits it out. "I'd rather deal with the pain." He says to the empty room.

He goes back into the parlor to see the faceless servants serving all the young Role Holders cups of tea. Nightmare swallows hard, knowing that the medicine was already added to the cups.

Everyone graciously drinks the tea.

"So have you found any sign of her?" Gray asks Nightmare's father.

"No. She isn't anywhere in Wonderland, and I can't find her in the land of the Foreigners, either. So she could be..." His father starts to say, when all the Role Holders fall asleep, the medicine taking effect. He turns to see his son, standing there. "You didn't drink it."

Nightmare shakes his head.

His father smiled and put a hand to his shoulder. "I'm proud you chose not to take it. It shows strength. Plus, I feel reassured that at least one of you will remember her, whenever she comes back."

"But you said there's no sign of her anywhere?"

His father smiles. "Nightmare, we live in the Wonderful Wonder World. Anything can happen, even it seems impossible. Plus, there are things at work here, that none of us are meant to fully understand." He stands and starts to walk away from his son. He stops and looks back at him to add, "Besides, The Dodo is a force to be reckoned with, she's got the soul of a tough old bird, so don't doubt her." Then his father goes back to his office.

Nightmare is left with those words. Dodo, please be alright and come back to us, for everyone's sake. We need you.

DODO

Crap! I don't think I can take much more of this. I bite my lip to keep the scream of pain in my throat from escaping. The shadow dragon had ripped into my back with his claws. Even though he was a shadow, he still was solid enough to tear me apart.

The once white room was now colored crimson with my blood. I learned from running into walls, that this room is small. There's only one way to escape this. But I have to distract him.

"Wait." I croak as he pulled away from me, readying to attack again.

The beast stays and looks at me with a questioning stare. "What?" It growls.

"Please tell me why... you're killing me? I, personally, didn't do this to you." I cry, letting the tears fall from my eyes. I have to act like I've given up and make him talk. He likes to talk and make himself look good.

He turns back into his somewhat human figure. "You're The Dodo. So you might as well have." He says disgruntled.

I look pleadingly at the boy... Jericho? But he looks away. I can tell he doesn't want this to happen. I think about all the retired roles trying to narrow down who he is. I turn back to the figure. "But we're not the same person, like the way you live." I say. "Each time a Dodo dies another is reborn with the abilities, not the memories of the previous one."

"You still keep journals don't you? That's close enough. Enough talk." His figure starts to shimmer as it changes.

"Wait!" He stops and looks at me. "I've lost enough blood, … I'm dead no matter what. Why not tell me your plan? It's not like I can do anything about it. I'll be a broken clock soon enough, and when I'm fixed, I'll be reborn as a faceless with no memories." I reason. "Besides, someone should get to know what you're doing." I say.

He smiles, and approaches me. He kneels and puts his hand under my chin, to look me in the eyes. "You're a sweet kid. You would have made an amazing Dodo. That's the problem. You've been trained some. So you know how to make yourself better. Your replacement, will be left to their own devices, though Jericho will bring them here for safekeeping, as he pretends to be the new Dodo. The other Role Holders are idiots and will believe him when your clock is found. Then when I recover completely, I'll have no one to stand in my way!" The figure turns his back to me.

"You've regained some of your power, to be able to bring back a retired Role. Why bring The Carpenter back?" I ask.

Jericho looks at me confused. He doesn't even know who he is.

The figure snaps his fingers and a vortex opens up under his feet, taking him away from the room. Good. One less person to worry about. "He's a dependable idiot. That's why."

"Yeah, but you don't have to call him that." I say looking down at the ground.

The figure turns away from me starting on another self-righteous spiel. I want to go! I could feel the hole open up behind me. I smile. "You're still an easily manipulated idiot, Jabbawock!" I shout and roll into the hole.

His shocked expression was priceless, but the evil glare almost made my heart stop. "You can open a portal!?" That was the last thing I heard as I watched the hole close up.

Gotta hold on to consciousness. Must stay awake! I lost a lot of blood, and was starting to feel lightheaded. I wanted to sleep so bad!

I hadn't even realized I was on the other side of the hole. I squinted and blinked up at the sun.

"Did you hear that, dear?" A woman's nearby voice could be heard.

"Yeah, I think it's over there. Probably a squirrel or bird." A man says.

I could barely hear their approaching footsteps. Crap! I don't know how to shield myself! And I couldn't stop my heavy breathing either.

"What is that?!" The man asks the woman.

"It's a little girl!" She approaches me. I can barely see her face, my vision is so blurry; all I could make out was her blond hair and blue eyes. "You have to help her! She's been hurt really badly!" She yells at the man. She turns her face back to me, "It'll be alright. You're in good hands now." I feel her cold hand on cheek. It feels so good.

I nod and close my eyes. Falling into the blackness.

DODO

The couple couldn't believe their eyes. A girl with attributes of a bird lay covered in wounds and blood, fighting for life.

The woman automatically went to her trying to help. When she saw the girl nod and go to sleep, she looked at her husband. "ADAM! Save her!" She whispered-yelled.

"Alright. You know, Carol, I'm a heart surgeon, not a doctor." Adam huffed and slowly approached the child. He first checked her pulse in her wrist, then laid his head on her chest to hear her heart. His eyes widened in shock at what he heard.

"Adam, what is it? Don't tell me, she-" His wife was fighting back tears at the thought of this little girl dying.

"It's her 'heart'. It's... ticking." He says.

TAH-DAH! So there's a Jabbawock, Dodo's in the land of the Foreigners, and she's been taken in by a couple named Adam and Carol. Will she ever make it back to Wonderland, to her friends and warn them of the Jabbawock's plot? And what will happen with the Foreigner couple? Stay tuned!

So if there are things I'm totally way off base about, tell me, so I know for future reference, and if what I was off base about was annoying to you or you liked that I came up with it, etc. So please, review! Leave a comment, ask a question, tell me your thoughts! Anything! I'd love to hear from you! And so would Daphne!
