Helpless

Taken aback by the gods comment, she pondered slightly to herself. Her brother was the best marksman at the circus and she can remember times when people mentioned that they shared a similar look. However, she held onto the last sting of hope that Natasha would have told her if her brother was in trouble.

"I do believe that you are mistaken," she stated without making eye contact. She felt helpless at that moment, mere feet in front of the enemy and yet she couldn't concentrate enough to attack let alone breathe.

"If you insist," he calmly stated.

Thor jumped down generating a cloud of dust around them and startling Lillian half to death. Thor grabbed a hold of Loki and was just about to engage in a sibling rivalry larger than the world, but he was knocked onto the ground below them by Iron Man.

Slightly interested, Loki looks down at the battle that started to unfold with Iron Man, Captain America, and his brother Thor.

As silence crept between them, she watched the battle as well. Standing near each other, Loki took this moment to examine the girl thoroughly through the corner of his eye. She and the man that he recruited share similar hair color, at least that's what he thought it was very hard to see in the dark. He could swear they were related, and he decided to test that theory.

"Barton," he stated loudly catching her frightened gaze. "I think that was his last name." By her frightened gaze alone he knew his assumptions were true. "That cannot be your last name as well can it?" He mischievously asked her.

"N-No" she denied slowly walking away from him. His comment destroyed any string of hope that she held on to and now she was falling into a black hole. Gathering her energy, and when she was a safe distance away from the god, she lifted her hand into the air and quickly pulled the water particles from the clouds above. She froze the water in the shape of a sword, catching the eye of the god of mischief. If she can concentrate then she can do some intense damage, but if she can't then the sword will explode and turn back into water.

"My my, what talent you have, too bad you can't hurt me," he said smiling at her and her sword.

"Don't judge me!" she shouted, lunging at the man, and swinging the sword to hit him in the torso. The sword hit him in the side but did no damage, and when she noticed that afterwards she readied another attack.

"Ah, you see I'm wearing armor, you're puny ice sword can't hurt me one bit. Go back to play pen little child." He found lots of fun in teasing her, watching the hurt turn into anger was a lot of fun.

"I am not a child!" She shouted out in anger, only generating a smirk from her target. Her anger continued to flow until her sword shattered and water droplets fell down onto the ground. She let her eyes fall towards the ground, watching it become wet.

"You don't belong here," he leaned in towards her ear and whispered. "Those men who are fighting my brother, they belong here, but you? You can't even cut me. You're a joke."

The enemy was laughing at her and there was nothing she could do about it at that moment. The men below flew back up and they were all escorted back onto the helicopter. During that entire time she didn't say a word let alone talk to anyone, she just wanted to be along in her own thoughts.

Sitting on the helicopter as it flew towards the helicarrier, Steve Rodgers noticed her sudden dismay and decided that it was his mission to talk to the girl, even though he may not know anything about her, every girl deserves to be happy in his mind.

"Hey, what's got you so down? I thought you did really good out there," He tried to cheer her up.

She looked up at him but was also met by the mischievous gaze of Loki. Instead of saying anything she just looked at his face awkwardly.

Feeling the awkwardness in the atmosphere he continued talking. "You know, that whole water thing where you were like wooosh woosh," he dangled his arms in the air trying to mimic her water bending. He looked so stupid making his arms noodles, that she couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Thanks," she smiled softly then turned her head back to her hands that rested on her lap.

"Yeah," he ended their conversation. The rest of the helicopter ride was mostly in silence, some talk here and there, but nothing meaningful.

Soon they were back on the helicarrier and they escorted Loki, to his glass cage. Instead of following the group to Loki's new cage, she roamed around the helicarrier for a bit, looking for Natasha. She had to know the truth.

It was nighttime, and since she couldn't find Natasha she decided to escape back to the room that was given to her when she first came onto the ship. As the doors opened she took in the smell of the room, somehow, if only faintly, it reminded her of her brother and that was enough to allow her to sleep peacefully. But in the morning, the first thing she was going to do was talk to Natasha, face to face, and ask her why, why did she lie and why did she take her here in the first place. 'You don't belong here,' those words rang in her head. It was true, she thought, I don't belong here at all.

So like here's the facts: I havent updated in 2 years. But! I will try to do it more often now! I decided that its going to be a Captain America x OC story, I decided that Thor had Jane and it would really mess up the plot of Thor2 if he didn't love Jane. Also! I didn't read the other chapters before writing this, I kinda winged it, if there is anything that seems out of place or I forgot to mention something from an earlier chapter please tell me. And always have a good day/afternoon/night! Please Review
