We stood there until the flame died down. Daryl walked towards me and kissed my forehead. "I don't like death. Even though we live in a world where all it is is death, I still just can't get used to it. I try to be strong for you and all the others, but I can't... Because one day I'm going to crack", I said.
"Shh", he soothed, putting my head on his chest. "You don't have to be, let me take care of you", he kissed me on the cheek. I smiled. We walked around to the front door where Maggie was sitting.
"Hey", I said. "Hi", she said back. Daryl went inside leaving Maggie and me outside.
"Are you okay?" I asked. "Yea... It's just this whole baby thing has got people in an uproar", she said.
"Oh... Um... Well I think as long as you and the baby stay healthy, then it will go just fine", I said as she leaned in to hug me.
When I walked inside, Jordan and Michonne were talking about their swords again. "Oh my lord, do you two talk about anything else?" I asked.
"No!" Jordan said. "Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" I asked her. "Sure", she said as we walked up to her room.
"Did you hear the things that man was talkin' about?" I said. "Yea, what was that all about?" she said throwing her hand up.
"I have honestly no i-freakin'-dea", I said. "Did you know who that was?" she asked.
"No clue", I said. "Yea, neither do I", she said. "Ok... So... Um... Thanks", I giggled.
"No problem... Best friends forever, right?" she smiled. "Right!" I said giving her a hug.
Jordan and I walked downstairs to rejoin the group. "We need to have a group meeting", Rick called. Everyone followed him into the library.
"So what's this about?" Daryl said with his arm around me. "We need to go on a food and medical supply run", Rick said.
"We'll go", Daryl said pointing at himself and I. "No, you two will not!" Rick said.
"Why not?" I said. "Because we don't need anymore drama in our group", he said.
"You're being unreasonable", I said. "No, I am not", Rick said. "Ok then", I said throwing my hands up and walking upstairs. Daryl followed me. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine... I really just don't wanna deal with Rick's shit today", I said as Daryl leaned in for a kiss. He laid me on the bed and kissed me harder.
"Hey... Guys it's time for... Ahh... Sorry", Carl blushed. "Carl that's the second time", I said. Daryl buried his face in my shoulder trying not to laugh.
"Sorry, I'll knock next time, but it's time for dinner", Carl said. "Yea, you said that last time, little dude", Daryl said. Carl rolled his eyes and stomped down the stairs.
"He's so... Irritating", I said. "I know, but he doesn't know better. He grew up in a world where everyone does the wrong thing", Daryl said. "Two things, number one, so did I... I grew up in this world. Number two, do you think we're doing the wrong thing?" I said. "No! Why would you even think that", he said caressing my face. "I don't know", I said tearing up.
"Stop it! Stop making yourself feel like this. I love you. Okay?" He said holding me. "I love you too" I said. "Now let's go downstairs and get some food", Daryl said grabbing my hand. I walked downstairs getting a sense of protectiveness.
"Daryl... Wait", I said. "What is it?" he said with worried eyes. "I don't know. I just feel like something bad is going to happen", and just like that a bullet went right through my library window.
"What the fuck?!" Daryl yelled. "Ya, alright in there?" Rick yelled. "Yea", Daryl replied. Then another bullet and another.
"Hit the floor", Rick said. Then we all heard footsteps and mumbling and cars rumbling. "I've been looking for for you guys for a long time", an unknown man's voice said. "It can't be!" Rick said.
