Jake woke up in a hospital bed at Megakat Memorial Hospital. He was back to his normal age and size, and his paw was a little burnt, but he shook that off as though normal. "What happened?" even his voice was back to normal. He was still a little dizzy.

He got up and stabilized himself using the bedside table that had a bottle of pills marked "Razor's Edge" on them. He chuckled a little and took one. It helped him to keep his head straight. 'Probably couldn't shoot as well like this, heh.' Then he made it out to the hallway before a nearby doctor noticed him.

"Oh no you don't young cat. You've just gotten up. You aren't going anywhere without a checkup, both physical and mental." The doctor said hurriedly.

"But I…"

"No buts, young cat. Now wait in here till your doctor arrives to check on you, he's due in a few." He ushered Jake back in the room, but not before he saw the sign saying he was in the radiology department. "I'll let your doctor know your awake now." He walked down the hall.

Jake shook his head wondering what he had gotten himself into now. Then he remembered who had been with him. "Aw crud, Chance!" he muttered as he attempted to go out of the room again.

This time when he got out, a silver cat in a nurse's uniform stopped him. "Edge, didn't the doc just tell ya to stay in your room?" Silvia was dressed in a plain hospital uniform and hat and had the attitude of a ticked off one. She smirked as he slapped his face with his paw.

"I don't have time for this, Silv, I need to know what happened to my partner, and to everyone else out there!" He kept his temper even and his face down. His voice was calm, with a hint of panic.

"Look, if you just stay here, I'll go and get Chance, you scaredy cat. Everyone's fine." She smirked, "You've even been cleared of any and all radioactive residue that was still in your bloodstream." She left the room leaving Jake with a nauseous feeling as though he had been told a vampire had taken an interest in him.

When Chance had finally been allowed in, Jake was trying to think up some sort of excuse for his weird problem. He was mumbling and muttering about all the possible answers he could give when he was taken by surprise at Chance's smile.

"Glad to see you're awake, Jake. Can't have my best bud falling asleep on the job ya know. Oh man, you aren't even going to believe this one." Chance was laughing at something already, and as usual with these situations, his laughter was contagious.

"Okay, I give, what did I miss?" He glanced at his friend, no, his brother, with a smirk.

"Well the old hag was locked up on Katrakaz Island. Feral no longer requires us to pay him for the building, oh and Roxy's starting up her own orphanage to take care of the kittens that were left behind. All in all, it's been pretty successful for the past two weeks." Chance grinned like the Cheshire cat.

"Two weeks! I've been out cold for two weeks?"

"If it helps any, no one knows about our little hobbies. Feral and Roxy promised to keep it safe." They had agreed that calling their second job a "Hobby" was the best thing. "We can be back in the air when you're ready."

"What's the official story for me being here?" Jake asked slowly. He had to know how to respond to questions.

"Hah, that's easy. You were driving the truck when you had been shrunken to a kitten's size and barely managed to swerve out of the way of any cat. You had accidently hit a truck full of radiation though."

Jake looked at Chance with a slight glare. "You crashed the truck again, didn't you?"

Chance blushed a little and cringed. "Hey, at least I wasn't covered in radioactive stuff though, you actually were, which is what required me to take you in to radiology."

Jake just shook his head and laughed. "I still don't get it. You're the best pilot around, and you still have trouble with cars and traffic."

"Hey, in my defense, the truck hit us when it ran a red light, not my fault." Jake chuckled at that. Things were certainly turning back to normal.
