We reached the car. I put my forehead to Jordan's. "You are gonna make it. Do you understand me?" I said. She nodded.
"I can't lose anymore people" I said. "I'll be alright", she smiled. "I'm a warrior... Remember?" Then like that... Rick jumped into the cab and Daryl jumped into the bed, and we were off.
"Drive! Do not look back!" Daryl yelled. "What do you think I'm doing!?" I yelled back. "Not the time, Taylor", he said as I giggled. I drove out of sight. We arrived at the house. "Hershel!" I called. "What is it?" He answered. I lifted the sheet that covered her leg.
"Beth! Get the iron, heat it! Quickly!" He said. She nodded. Daryl and Rick carried Jordan into the library, and the screams emenced. "Daddy, the iron's ready!", Beth said. "Glen, get a towel. Rick, give me your belt!" Hershel commanded. Rick took off his belt and handed it to him. Glen handed me a towel. "Bite down on this", I said to Jordan. She nodded and squeezed my hand.
"Are you ready?" Hershel said. She nodded, screamed, and scrabbled. She squeezed my hand so hard she broke it, but that didn't matter. "Almost done", Hershel put the iron down on her leg one last time. She soon drifted to sleep.
Hershel bandaged her leg, and everyone got in the shower to clean themselves of blood. After I got out of the shower, I put on my Iron Man pajama pants and a tank top. I walked downstairs into the library, where Jordan still lied sleeping. I sat on the piano bench that was beside the blood coated couch.
"I'm so sorry", I whispered. Daryl walked behind me, putting his hand on my shoulder. "She'll be ok", he said softly. I nodded. "C'mon", he said. "No, I have to stay here... For when she wakes up", I said. "Michonne will stay with her", he said.
"No... I have to stay!" I said. "Okay... Okay..." He tried to soothe. "I'm sorry." I said. "It's ok... I understand what you're going through", he said.
I sat there for three hours. Then suddenly Jordan's eyes fluttered open. "It's okay... I'm here" I said. She smiled. "I'm alright. You can stop worrying now", she said. "I wasn't worrying", I said. "Taylor, I know you. And yes, you were", she laughed. Michonne walked in with crutches. "Thanks", Jordan said. She nodded.
Jordan crutched to the living room where everyone was. The whole room brightened. Everyone smiled. I still behind her. Then Daryl came behind me. He smiled.
"I have to clean the library", I said. "Are you ok?" He said.
"I honestly... Don't know" I said holding back tears. "Was that your breaking point?" He said.
"Yes!" I said balling. He picked me up and carried me into our room. "I almost lost her today", I said.
"But, you didn't and she's fine", he said. I continued to cry. "Stop! Babe... Please! Just stop crying!" He said. I sniffled. "Are you okay, now?" He said. I nodded.
We walked downstairs where everyone was laughing and smiling. Carol and Beth were making dinner. "Ya'll need help?" I asked. "Uhm... Yea... Can you set the table?" Carol said. I nodded.
I sat the table then called everyone in the dining room. Carol came in with a pot of soup. Everyone grabbed and growled. After dinner, Carl, Daryl, and I cleaned up the kitchen.
"Can you get the..." Daryl stopped me. "Plates... Got it!" He laughed. I smiled and kissed him. Carl rolled his eyes. "Don't be jealous, boy." Daryl said as he stomped off.
