Chapter 10! I'm finally here! Review please!

Max's POV:

I brushed my hair and braided it into a loose side French braid. Today, I was going home. I can't wait to just sit in my room and chill out to my music. Lord. Haven't done that in awhile. I wanted to see Iggy, but I don't know how he'll react. Maybe if I convinced Fang to take me to visit him...it would take a lot of convincing. He's still mad at me for not telling him about my cancer. He knows I feel bad about it and I'm pretty sure he wants me to for awhile.

I sighed pulling on my leggings and a faded red skirt that reached a little past my thighs. Not a slut skirt. I can promise you that. A black tank top and a grey sweeter that faltered my arms. I wasn't leaving here looking like I did the other day...God, I'm so weak. I feel like a freaking idiot!

I steeped outside the hospital and waited for Fang to pull up. He slowly stoped the car. I walked to open up the car. Fang pulled the car up more. I stopped and looked at him threw the window. I was about to pull the handle again, but he pulled up even more. I put my hands on my hips.

He rolled down the window. "Well? Aren't you going to get in?" I shook my head. "Stop pulling the car up!" I said playfully. He laughed. "Ok, just get in." I eyed him for a minute before trying again. Not the best idea. He pulled up again! "You know, you and my dad would become best friends at this." He shrugged smiling hugely.

"Fine, I'm walking." I began walking the other way. He turned the car off and got out. I looked back for only a second. He was chasing me. Before I knew it, I began running as fast as I could. "Max! Come on! You know I'm going to end up catching you!" He shouted. "No your not!" I hollered back. After about a minute, I felt arms wrap around my waist. "Fang! Put me down! Your going to drop me!" He lifted me up and was dashing to the car.

"To late!" He pushed me into the passenger seat and ran to the other side. "Are we having fun?" I asked bumping him with my shoulder. He was breathing heavy. "You didn't happen to eat rocks for breakfast, did you?" I lifted my eyebrows up. "Oh, if it's a problem, then I'll just have to wal-" he pulled out of the parking lot.

"I am NOT chasing you down again." I smirked. "Hey Fang, can we please visit Iggy real quick. I just want to see if he's ok." He looked at me with a face of disappointment. "I thought we where going to get ice cream!" He said like a 5 year old. I grabbed his cheek and pinched it like a grandmother would. "We can if you want to." He smiled. "Sure, but after Iggy, it's ice cream." I smiled leaning back on the seat.

"So...how about some 104.5." He smiled and turned on the radio. It's a good thing he of my favorite songs came on.

I began feeling goosebumps all over me. "Hell yeah!" I high fived Fang. "That was the best song I've listed to in a few weeks." "Heh, same here. I haven't listened to that song in awhile. God! I feel so happy and alive right now." Suddenly, I regret saying that. I stoped cheering and looked out the window. I could feel Fang's eyes on me.

"Max, is somethin wrong?" I shook my head. "No. Nothing at all." After a few minutes, nothing was said. The music played lower now. I felt something lace around my hand and intertwined its fingers with mine. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what it was. I peeked over at Fang.

His face blank looking at the road. I moved my eyes down to our hands. His hand was perfect with my own. Like we where a perfect match. It felt nice and warm. I smiled a little and looked out the window again. The ride was quit, but nice.

We opened the door to Iggy's room. He was sitting in bed reading a comic book of some kind. "Hey Iggy." He looked up at me. He shot up and ran to hug me. I hugged him back. However..."Iggy, you shouldn't be jumping out of bed. Come on, let's get you back in your be-" He squeezed me tightly and was sobbing. "Max! I can't believe you!" He shouted.

"What?" "I can't believe you! Why didn't you call me when you woke up!? Why didn't you tell me you were hurting!?" I pried him off me. "It was a sudden attack. I didn't know about it." He shook his head. "Max! I was so under pressure, you scared the living hell out of me! Don't you know I was thinking...thinking that if you had passed...that I would also-" I cut him off. "Iggy! Don't you ever say that!" I pushed him back to is bed.

"You know, that's something an idiot would say. I would never let you do that. Never ever! Promise me now! That if I were to go before you, you wouldn't think twice about doing something like that!" He looked away. "I can't promise you that I wouldn't think about it."

I sighed and sat next to him. "Iggy, think about Lissa, Sam, and me! Do you know who you'll be hurting the most? Besides, I'm not giving up that easy. I may have moments where it hurts...but we both do. So promises me, Iggy. That if one of us happens to slip, we'll go on living out each others lives." I held Iggy's hand.

He sat there for a minute and finally nodded. I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thanks Iggy. I'll be back later to visit you. Call me when you are discharged from the hospital. Bye." I got up and grabbed Fang's hand. "Now, let's go and get that ice cream." I looked back at Iggy. He was watching us leave. He waved before we closed the door. I waved threw the window.

Iggy's POV:

I knew it. Max and Fang where going to end up together after all. It left a burden on my heart. I slapped myself upside the head. I should have told her before he showed up. I was happy to hear a few years back that Max actually had a crush on me. It filled my heart with joy. I can still remember it.

I was sitting at the beach with Max, Lissa, Ari, and Ella. We had first became friends at the beach when we where younger. Max was playing in the sand with Lissa and Ella. Me and Ari where in the water. "So Ari, what's up with Max? She's been avoiding me." Ari smiled. "I feel bad for telling you this, but then again...you are her BEST friend. You see Iggy, Max actually has a huge crush on you." My heart leaped.

"Max has a crush on me?" I looked over at her. She was laughing about something one of the girls said. She was the most beautiful girl in our school. I had noticed her a few times, but the day we became friends is when I actually got to talk to her. I knew what she used to think of me. The most popular guy in school. Little did I know that she was the one with REAL friends.

Her hair was in pigtails bouncing from her laughter. Deep brown eyes full of joy and amazement. Wearing a blue shirt and green shorts with black flip flops. It never occurred to me that she had cancer till that day. Not once did I expect it.

Some time later°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°·····················°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

Me and Max were sitting on her back porch. Her mom had made us a delicious meal and was on her way of making homemade cookies. Her specialty. Anyway, I was so close to confessing, when she dropped the bomb. "Iggy, I don't know if we can be friends after this, but I have to tell you." At first I was excited, then when she said those three little words...I realized that I couldn't tell her.

"I have cancer. I don't know if it's that bad, but they said that I might not live to see my eighteenth birthday." I couldn't say anything. It was rough on me. I...couldn't say anything. I wouldn't say anything. I wasn't going to say anything. I'll never say anything.

I should have said something.

Max's POV:

Fang and I were in the ice cream shop eating our ice cream. Then Fang suddenly brought up something I would have never wanted to share with him. "Max, tell me...when did you find out you had cancer?" I swallowed what ice cream I had in my mouth. I knew I couldn't hide anything from him anymore.

"Well, it started when I was five...

"Mom!" Yelled Ari. "Max took my monster truck!" I laughed like a madman at the top of our playground set in the back yard. "Never! You took my cupcake, so your not getting your toy back!" He was really mad now. I watched as he was climbing up the stairs. I giggled before sliding down our slide. During the process, I felt myself go light headed. My vision blurs into a fuzzy blanket. Next thing I know, I'm at the end of the slide not being able to move.

Ari stoped and yelled at me to move. I didn't move though. Ari began pushing me to the bottom of the slide. I finely reached my voice. "Ari, get mom." I said below a whisper. He grunted and got mom. "Max? What's wrong?" My mom lifted me up. "Mom. It hurts. Please, mommy." I cried. She began panicking. "Jeb! Get over here!"

About ten minutes later, my vision cleared. I was on the porch laying down. The ambulance was in the background. I was looking at my brother and sister. Ella was scared crying. Ari was looking at me with frantic eyes. His lips opened up. He mouthed to me. "Be strong, sister." I began crying.

I began crying in the ice cream shop. Fang was looking out the window, blinking to stop tears. I on the other hand, gripped his hand and made him look at me. "Don't worry, I'm sure that I end up living threw this." I said in a choked sad voice. He smiled half way, still talking in a dry voice. "Lets hope so."
