Cherries. Azula knew that there was no way Zuko could've known that this entire romance started with a bowl of cherries; he likely just thought Azula would like them. But she did find it funny that the first thing her eyes located in the room were cherries.
It was when she saw the cherry wine beside them that she began to wonder if Ty Lee had a hand in this, perhaps. Ty Lee then stumbled into the room before Azula could make more observations about a rather unimportant fruit, and the acrobat threw the two suitcases onto the floor.
Ty Lee leapt onto Azula, wrapping her legs around her, and the princess's eyes flashed as she steadied herself. Their lips met and their fingers dug into each other's skin.
Time, it took time, so much time. So many kisses leading up to this one, and Azula sunk her teeth into Ty Lee's lower lip, rewarded with a involuntary moan.
They fell backwards into the rest of their life, which made the most sense.
It was kind of hard to imagine them not stumbling blindly around this love thing.
Azula's back hit the mattress and she surrendered for not quite the first time, but for the most important time.
And they lived (mostly) happily ever after.

AN: Thank you for reading! This took like two months longer than it should've to finish haha. Anyway, I've been working on a spinoff of this for a while now when I had the time, and I'm going to try to have it up by Friday. It's a novel length Azula Redemption that includes the second half of this story ─ it starts off when Azula is found half dead after The Search, and continues onward. I was asked a lot of times to make this second arc into a longer fic, and I did/am.
It's called Stale Tea.
Thanks again. :D
