*peeks out from behind a table* so this took a while. I could give a bunch of excuses but I know you don't wanna hear it...so this is from Dean's perspective...and short. Enjoy!
It had been around a week since the incident. Ok, "incident" might be a bit dramatic, but so was Gabe turning us into freaking girls! We were still stuck in who-knows-where Colorado while we tried to figure out a plan of attack. Vivian hadn't caused anymore issues, and as far as I knew, she had no idea we were still in town. Or maybe news just hadn't gotten to the leviathans that we were ever in town. Either way our work in nowhere Colorado seemed done. At the moment, Cas, Sammy, Gabe, Meg, and I were seated around a table at some diner.
"We could visit one of dad's old buddies? Maybe one of them has something that could help?" It still seemed just fucked up to me to hear Sammy as a girl. It was him, but at the same time it was...well her. As a girl, he was still a half a foot taller than me, and his hair had only seemed a few inches longer, but it was just terrible. I had watched Sammy grow up, and now...it was confusing. We had long ago gotten clothes that would fit us in our new bodies, but we were both still learning to act the part we now had to live. Girls were definitely judged by a higher standard by some people. I was currently sitting with my legs as wide as the Mississippi and stuffing my face with a burger, getting me more than a few strange looks.
In between bites I responded, still surprised by the noise that came out of my mouth, "Unless he knew a psychic or witch or something, I don't know how much help they would be. Besides, this is Gabe's magic, how do we even know it can be reversed?"
Sam just sat silently and continued to eat his salad. No one at the table spoke. After another ten minutes, we were all done eating, especially because only two of us actually ordered anything, and I got up to go pay at the counter. There were a few people in line, so I decided to sit down at the couch by the door. A minute or so later, a guy with dark hair came and sat beside me, a little too close for comfort.
"Hey, sugar. Haven't seen you here before. What's the name?"
"Uh, Dean."
"What kind of name is that for such a lovely lady?" He reached out and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. I swatted his hand away with way more force than necessary, and stood up.
"It's short for Deana. And you should probably not bother me again." I gave the guy an absolutely beaming smile then started to walk to the counter, but the douche grabbed my wrist before I got out of reach.
"Don't walk away from me, sugar. Not while I'm talking to you. You just missed out on the best time of your miserable existence." I wriggled out of his grasp. I didn't realize until later that the spell, no, the other one, didn't take affect(I didn't want to bone this guy).
"Leave me alone, you creep," I warned in a low voice, moving my hand to a knife hidden under my jacket. As soon as his eyes followed my hand's path, they got a little bigger, then narrowed into a glower. He must have thought I had a gun or something. Leaving him, I walked up to the counter and paid. By the time I was done, everyone had joined me and the GIGANTIC FUCKWAD was gone. Damn, girls deal with a lot of shit!
"Missouri!" I jumped out of my seat and looked over at Sam, who was riding shotgun. We were on our way back to the motel.
"Jeez, Sammy, warn me before you start making such a loud request. And why would we go to Missouri? It's a 14 hour drive, at least, for nothing. There aren't even any good leads for the leviathan case there."
"What? No, I mean Missouri. Dad's old friend. The one who lives back in Kansas." I thought back to when we had spent time at Missouri's. Some of the memories weren't that great. But she did seem like the real deal.
"She might be able to help. Let's give it a try. We just gotta check out of the room and hit the road. We could make it by sunset if we're lucky."
"Wouldn't it just be easier if we were to-'
"Cas, no. Last time you zapped us somewhere, I didn't poop for a week. And besides, I'm not leaving Baby in Colorado." We arrived at the motel and I got up to go inside to pack.
"I'll stay here and call Missouri. Cas, why don't you go help Dean pack?" Sam sat on the hood of the car while Cas started to walk to the room. Before I followed him, I heard Gabe mutter something about getting a snack and some fresh air if he was going to be spending the next 6 hours in some car with a bunch of moody girls. I sent a glare his way and was sort of glad to hear Meg slap him across the face, even if she laughed after. Out of the corner of my eye I saw them get out of the car and head for the vending machine. I caught up to Cas and walked the rest of the way to our room, following him very closely behind. He almost ran into the cleaning man while he walked out of our room and I couldn't help but notice that he looked somewhat familiar, but I ignored it and opened the door. It would only take about five minutes to gather up all the shit we had tossed around the room, but I started to feel a little sick from how much I had eaten at lunch. I guess my new stomach couldn't take quite as much food as I had grown accustomed to. I had learned from a young age to eat as much as I could whenever I could, and although I had started to reverse that habit, I still liked food. I decided to lay down for a bit while Cas finished packing.
I smiled to myself and closed my eyes as I watched Cas squint suspiciously at one of my few bras (how messed up does this sound?). Then it happened. I couldn't breath. My eyes shot open and my hand went to my chest while I tried to take in any air I could. A burning started in my lungs and spread throughout my body until it hurt to move. I reached out for something, anything, and saw Cas rush towards me looking worried. He shouted and Sam came rushing into the room, still on the phone. I looked down and started coughing. My hand came away red. In a panic I stood up, body aching and vision blurring at the effort. I fell onto my knees, curling up. Cas was there, shouting something to Sam, quieter, quieter. Time seemed to slow, leaving only the pain, only the coughing, the wheezing, the blood. Only Cas' hand on my shoulder, a spot of searing heat compared to the suddenly freezing room. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Sam flipping chairs, desperately searching for something. Cas was talking to me, quietly, slowly, fading… everything was fading. I tried as hard as I could to focus on his voice, speaking a language I didn't know, or couldn't recognize. It was gone. I saw his mouth move but heard no sound. Darkness came upon the edges of my vision. I felt an acute pulse of energy flow through my shoulder, and then nothing.
How'd you like it? So I got to point out that this took a while...and the next chapter might as well. We have every intention of continuing the story, but shit happens. I personally come up with ideas every day but writing is hard and we just haven't really had a ton of motivation to do it. Anyway thanks to everyone who has given us support and hopefully there will be another chapter. Not gonna even say it will be soon, but it will probably be.
And thoughts of whether this should actually be M rated or not, please let us know.
