When the sun rose Lucinda went to the kitchen to get breakfast. "Morning my little witchlet." Her mother said moving the breakfast around using her wand.

"Morning." Lucinda said yawning.

"Sleep well?" She said noticing her daughter seemed really tired.

Lucinda rubbed her eyes trying to wake herself up. "Yeah. I slept fine."

"You sure?" Her mother asked again.

"Yes." That was when Lucinda sat down and began to eat her breakfast. Her mother joined her and they had a nice chat.

During breakfast they talked about how Lucinda was doing on the potions. Lucinda really didn't want to admit that she really disliked testing the spells. So she said simply that she was learning a lot. Her mother was happy to hear that but she worried that Lucinda was not telling her everything but before they could talk a bit more Lucinda rushed out of the house saying she was going to go play with sofia. Her mother reminded her on when she should be back for her next lesson and allowed her to go. She said she would be there and left.

Before Lucinda went to Sofia's home, however, she wanted to check the dog to make sure Elaine was true to her teachings and he was fine. When she made it to the girls home she was glad to see that the dog was indeed awake and playing. She went down to him to make extra sure he was fine.

When she landed the dog rushed to her. "Hey boy. You ok?" She said patting him.

"He is fine." Said the dogs owner. "You where right. He wake up not to long ago but he is just as cheerful as he was before."

"That is great to hear. I am still very sorry I did that." Lucinda said still regretting her actions.

"It is fine. Just keep you promise about not using potions on him anymore."

"I will." With that she pet the dog a few more times then got up. "Well, I better be going. Sofia is waiting for me."

"OK. Bye." said the owner.

With that Lucinda began heading to the castle to meet Sofia. However before she could she had an unpleasant encounter with her teacher.

"Lucinda!" Said Elaine.

Lucinda was not to thrilled to see her teacher already but she had to answer her. "Hello, Mrs. Elaine."

"What are you doing out this early?" She asked. Lucinda could not answer. She did not want to tell her she was going to a friends house but she couldn't think of anything else. "Are you out hexing people?" Elaine said.

"OH! Yes. That is what I am doing. Nothing like hexing people to get the day started." Then Lucinda laughed nervously trying to sound bad.

"Well, that sounds fun. How about we do our potion lesson early and test it on someone?" Elaine offered.

"No!" Lucinda called. "Hexing is fine. We don't have to do the…" But before she could finish Elaine interrupted her.

"I must insisted. I am a little busy today so it would just be easier if we do this now."

Lucinda had no choice but to accept now, so they flew back to Lucinda's home to do their lesson early. This time they would be making a laughing potion. When taken the person will not be able to stop laughing for 10 minutes. Lucinda was really nervous with this one because this time it would be tested on a person. They did the same thing as last time and when it was ready they went out to find the one to test it on. What made her even more nervous was that there seemed to be enough for many people not just one.

"Why is there so much this time?" Lucinda asked.

"Because this time we will be testing it at a party." Elaine said.

"What!?" Lucinda did not like the sound of that.

"Yes. Just our luck there is a party going on today. I saw it shortly before I saw you." Then she gave an evil chuckle.

"Great." Lucinda said laughing nervously.

"You don't seem to happy. It is because it is not a hex. I know potions and hexes are different but potions can be just as fun." She explained.

"No. It's not that it's just…"

"OH! There it is!" Elaine said not listening to Lucinda.

Lucinda looked down and it looked like a birthday party. There were a lot of kids there and in the grow Lucinda saw two people she really did not want to test the potion on. They were Ruby and Jade her two friends. Now she really didn't want to use this potion but she had to think fast.

"Uhm...Elaine can I do this one too?" She said.

"Of course. That is what we are here for." Elaine said as they landed. They hide behind the house and some bushes and Elaine gave the potion to Lucinda. "Just put it in the drinks and they should be laughing the minute they drink it."

"OK." Lucinda said taking the potion and slowly making her way to the drinks.

It did not take her long to get there but now she did not know what to do. She didn't want to put it in the drink but what else could she do. Now she had to think really fast because now the bottles lid was off and she was about to do something she knew she will regret. Then suddenly she heard her name.

"Lucinda?" Said the voice.

Lucinda jumped and when she turned around she dropped the potion. "Hey Jade." She said when she saw Jade.

"What are you doing here? And what is that?" She said pointing to the potion.

"Oh nothing. I was just passing through when I dropped this. Don't worry I will be leaving now." Lucinda explained.

"Why don't you stay. You are more than welcome." Said said inviting her to spend some time with the other kids.

"Sorry but I really do need to go." With that she got on her broom and flew high in the sky.

Shortly after Elaine flew up and said, "What was that?!" She did not sounding happy.

"What?" Lucinda said not understanding what she was asking.

"Why didn't you use the potion? And who was that girl? She seemed to know you." Elaine was now really suspension.

"Well, I was about to but that girl startled me and I dropped it and…" Lucinda thought for a split second, "...she is someone I normally hex. She really doesn't like me to much and wanted me to leave."

"Well, we can't help that but be more careful next time. Potions take time to make and they are a waste if you mess it up." Elaine said.

"OK." Lucinda said pretending to be sorry.

"Well, I guess that is it. I need to get going, so I will leaving first." Elaine said.

"OK." Lucinda said watching as her teacher flew off.

Once she was gone Lucinda gave a sigh of relief and said to herself, "Good thing Jade called me. If not I wouldn't have been able to pull of the 'accidental' spill, but this is getting bad." She flew down and walked over to watch the kids and thought for a few minutes. She liked seeing them happy and she wished she could be apart of it but for now that was not an option. That was when she made a big decision. She came out of hiding and Rudy and Jade ran up to her.

"Lucinda, didn't you say you had to go?" Jade wondered.

"I do but first I have to tell you two something and if you could can you tell the other kids too?" Lucinda said looking really sad.

"Lucinda, what is wrong?" Ruby asked.

"I have this new potions teacher. That bottle you saw a minute ago was actually holding a potion."

"It... what!?" Jade said surprised.

"Don't worry I didn't use it. When you called me I pretended to spill it so my teacher wouldn't find it odd."

"Oh. Good." Jade said with a sigh.

"So what about her?" Ruby asked getting back on topic.

"Well she is having me test each potion. Last time it was a sleeping potion and I used it on that girls dog." Lucinda pointing to the girl and her dog who were also at the party. "I felt terrible about it but he was fine so that is good but now I do not want to do it any more. I don't know what else to do. If I stop she will find out I am a good witch and that won't be good but I can't continue." Lucinda was obviously very upset.

"So what are you going to do?" Jade asked.

"The only thing I can think of it to stay away from all of you. I ask you do the same. For now if you see me run away. I also ask that if you see me do not drink or eat whatever you were about too. Also if you see me flying away or hiding warn who ever is near by." Lucinda looked really sad when she said that.

"What?" Ruby and Jade asked in unison.

"In short stay away from me. Do not talk to me, came to me, and if you see me expect the worse." Lucinda really did not what this but this was the only thing she could think of that would keep her friends safe.

"We can't?" Jade said shocked Lucinda said that.

"Please!" Lucinda pleaded. "I don't want to hurt any of you. It is only for now. Once my teacher leaves we can be friends again." Lucinda said. "Now please can you let everyone else know that is going on?"

Ruby and Jade were not happy with this choice but they could not think of anything better. "Sure." Jade said.

They both then walked up and gave her a huge. "Good luck." They said in unison.

"Thank you." Lucinda said before getting on her broom and flying back home. On her way she shed quite a few tears. That what the hardest thing she ever decided to do. Now she just hoped these potion lessons would end soon and that her friends do as she instructed and they stay safe.
