Gomen Gomen Gomenasai! I did not intend for this to take so long. A lot has been happening to me in the past 2 month that either took away my time or killed my drive. Over christmas break i was at my grandmas and I had no privacy or internet to type their. Back at my parents house afterwards they wouldn't let me leave as soon as I wanted so I didn't have a week or so before the next semester started to myself to de-stress which I really needed. I could have also used that to type my story. By the time I did leave I got into a heavy car accident that involved me hitting a bridge twice and wrecking my car. So now I have no car cuz its dead. Actually people were surprised I wasn't killed or even hurt so yeah my ego kinda rose from it if you saw what I walked away from. I wasn't even shook up by that but that delayed when I got back to my dorm even more. I still haven't taken my makeup exam which is another issue in and of itself. Teacher want's to try to take advantage of me. You don't fuck with me, nuff said. I'm still dealing with that issue and have even gone to the police... wow those past 3 sentences came out wrong. No I didn't get sexually assualted it was another issue that would take up too much space to explain completely. I also lost my drive and realized that my instability, most of it was caused by my parents so when I went off to college I started to lose that edge. That is until I remember who I was last week. You can thank the Higurashi anime whose ending to the first season long story short made me extremely paronoid for hours until I forced myself to switch personalities which I messed up on and caused me to snap. Now I'm awesome again...

Also thank you therealrane for doing what I said. He is I believe the only one who reminded me to update the chapter and did it repeatedly. Thats not to say that I wouldn't posted it. I'm even late on when I told him I would post it which was last week. But his timing was great and by him saying that showed me that people care enough for me to hurry up so I devoted more of my time to this chapter sooner because I had honestly forgotten for a time that I kept you guys waiting with all the hell I had to deal with so if rane hadn't said anything and then told me again you guys might not have gotten a chapter till my spring break. But I got my drive back so lets see me speed up.

Chapter 18: Breaking Tide

"Hehehehe what's with those faces?"

Naruto swiveled on his rear without the use of his limbs around to face his audience. Most of them were unnerved by him.

"Come on don't be scared. I'm not even trying yet. You want to be scared! I'll show you SCARY!"

They flinched as one of Naruto's eyes turned a yellow color. He was deranged as he now stood in a weird position. He was leaning forward as one hand was on his face. He dragged it down, nails digging into his skin, pulling down the eyelid of the yellow eye as a strange presence could be felt. Kakashi sweated as he felt like he was having a flashback.

*Pat*

Naruto snapped out of it as he felt a small tap on his cheek. He glanced to the side and saw that Kukamu had pressed her small fox paw to his cheek. She had poked her head out of his scarf during the commotion. She didn't know what it was but something about the presence unnerved her in an uncomfortable way.

He locked eyes with her gold ones and saw the concern. Just like that he was back to normal but he wasn't sure what that was. Oh well he would worry about it later. He pat Kukamu's head and stood up with a stretch. Shrugging it off he turned and kept walking.

"Come on I don't have all day. I want to reach our destination by tomorrow.

Jibril followed after him instantly but the others looked at each other having second thoughts before finally following him, albeit with some distance behind him.

*Next Day*

After Naruto had revealed what he learned from the Demon Brothers, that forced Tazuna to tell them the truth about his escort mission. It didn't matter anyway since Naruto wasn't going to quit. Now the were walking on the path and Naruto could smell a body of water not far away...okay that might not have been saying much since they were in Wave country now after all.

Naruto was once again walking in front of everyone on the path without a care. He suddenly stopped which caught the others attention as the stopped right behind him. Kukamu stuck her head out of his scarf and both of their nose twitched as the smelled the air around them picking up multiple unique scents.

Tazuna asked the correct question. "What's going on? Why did you stop?" Naruto simply grinned to himself but said nothing. Without looking he could already tell that Kakashi and to a lesser extent, Sasuke were both on guard now so he had no reason to say anything.

*Rustle*

Sasuke quickly threw a kunai in the direction of the sound. It flew into the bushes right to the side of Sakura making her jump in fright. Sasuke went to recover his prize and brought back a scared to death white rabbit. The kunai missed it by only an inch.

"Hn, it was only a rabbit?" Sasuke grumbled not particularly happy about it.

Naruto just turned and tilted his head at him.

"Really? Are you sure? After all the hare's hair heheh, is white which isn't normal at this time since that is usually an adaptation for the winter season and colder climates where there is snow, not here at this time. Nope. I would say that this wild rabbit could just have a genetic mutation or a recessive gene of some-kind but that isn't likely looking at how long it has survived when that would have made it easy prey." The others just looked at him astonished. 'Wow this kid is smart', thought Tazuna.

"Also from what my nose is picking up I smell multiple human and blood scents on this animal. Which would mean that its very likely that this rabbit is domesticated..."

Sakura was confused as to what he was getting at. "So why does any of that matter you idiot!?"

Naruto looked at her bored. "Well if you used your brain that should be stored in that massive forehead of yours you should have figured it out already but I guess I have to spoon feed you. Rabbits because of their vulnerable nature are often never let out very far from their owners if at all. This rabbit is clearly in shape and taken care of which means it is not just out on the run. Also the fact that the scents of blood do not match the more prominent human scents I smell could very likely mean that its owners could be a threat and that this rabbit has a history of being near battles or being used as a decoy..."

Kakashi's eyes widened as he heard a sound coming at them.

"Get down!"

Everyone dove down except Naruto to avoid a large bladed weapon flying at them. They felt the wind as it sliced over them. The object flew and embedded itself in a tree and a figure appeared on it. He was tall with pale skin and short spiky hair. The lower half of his face was covered with bandages and he wore baggy striped pants and mimetic wrist-warmers extending up to his elbows, with matching leg-warmers.

"Well well if it isn't Kakashi of the Sharingan, am I right? No wonder the Demon Brothers didn't survive and yet the state that they were in doesn't seem like your kind of work." The figure looked down at Kakashi in anticipation.

"Zabuza Momochi, Demon of the Mist I presume?" Kakashi looked up at Zabuza on guard watching for any sudden movements.

"Naruto, Demon Brat of Konoha? Oh wait that's me hehehe." Zabuza looked to the side in surprise at seeing some kid sitting right next to him on his sword without a care in the world, his legs swinging back and forth.

Something about the look in the kid's eyes made him uneasy. 'Ho-how did this gaki get up here so fast? And what is this presence!?'

They stared at each other up on the sword embedded in the tree for several seconds before Naruto grinned behind his scarf and spoke up.

"So...come here often?"

Zabuza twitched and lashed out a kick at Naruto. He duck out of the way and jumped off the blade back to where Kakashi, Jibril, and the rest were as if nothing happened.

"I take that as a maybe?"

Kakashi went in front of the group with his guard up. "You all stand back this shinobi is beyond your level." While his genin and Tazuna grew nervous at this Naruto simply tilted his head but otherwise said nothing.

"Tell you what Kakashi. Give me the bridge builder and I will be on my way."

"Sorry but I can't do that." Kakashi lifted up his headband to expose his doujutsu.

"Oh I get the Sharingan already? What an honor. Guess I have to kill you all then."

Sasuke's eyes widened in shock. 'He's eye is just like mine!'

Naruto waved at Zabuza and spoke out. "Ano, Zabu-san could you kill me first? I kinda had other things planned and wanted to get this out of the way."

'Dafuq?' "Gaki that doesn't even make any sense."

"Really? I just want to see if you can kill me. If you can't even give me a challenge..." Naruto's eyes glowed with crosshair notches as he locked them with Zabuza. "...then you aren't worth my time."

In Naruto's mindscape Zraiarz smirked. 'You're playing a dangerous game...'

Zabuza snorted but the kid gained his interest. "You've certainly got some balls on you kid. I hope you can back up your arrogance." He formed a hand sign as he used his signature technique. "Suiton: Kirigakure no Jutsu!"

The mist in the surrounding area thickened to the point that they hardly had any visibility.

"Everyone be on your guard and protect the bridge builder!" Kakashi shouted his order and everyone surrounded Tazuna with Naruto in the front.

Naruto had his eyes closed as he tried to spread out his senses. 'Wow so this is the silent killing technique? I can't hear or see more than a few feet in any direction and the water in the mist is messing with my sixth sense at this level but thats just bad luck. Sense of smell is useless at this point. That takes out most of my most powerful forms of tracking, however...'

"Kukamu." Said bijuu poked her head up from inside his scarf at attention.

"Hai Naruto-sama?"

"I want you to stick with Jibril. Something is telling me that is the best option right now since you would get in the way as you are now and I can't let you reveal your strength just yet."

"If you say so but be careful." She hopped off and ran over to Jibril who held her.

Naruto grinned to himself and put his hands into his pouch. "Also this frees up my movements for-"

"You shouldn't be so distracted." Everyone's eyes widened as they heard Zabuza's voice. He appeared in the middle of them ready to cut them all. "Disappointing-"

As the blade came down Naruto casually blocked it with with his armored hand and braced the rest with the back of his scarf covered neck, all without facing him. Naruto tilted his head back at Zabuza locking his crosshaired eyes with his with a smirk, "when you attack." Everyone was shocked with how he blocked it or that he managed to in the first place. Though Kukamu shivered and was more nervous. That spot of the scarf that was hit was the where the back of Naruto's neck was. That was a decapitation swing and though the Scarf blocked most of it the force still hurt his neck. If Kukamu had still been in that spot, she would have been in trouble. Everyone jumped away as Naruto and Zabuza were locked.

"How did you?"

"See the crosshairs in my eyes? They are the sign of my Dojutsu. I call it the Keirogan(Pathway Eye), and one of the unique things it can do is track whoever they have looked at no matter where they are."

Zabuza didn't show his surprise. 'Is this a new dojutsu? Either way that would explain why he activated his eyes right before I used my jutsu. I thought it was just for show and he was just blowing hot air out his ass. Oh well that makes this more interesting though he's still just a genin.'

Zabuza jumped back a meter and did a horizontal swing. Naruto leaned back at an off angle as the blade sailed over him. He looked up at Zabuza from that pose still sporting a grin. "'Course my eyes still follow fast movement and I don't have to even look at you."

'This kid is treating it like a game.' Zabuza brought the sword back for a downward swing. Naruto twisted and spun his body out of the way as the blade cracked the ground. The Mist Anbu step towards Naruto and dragged the blade up sending dirt and rock up at his face. Naruto shield his eyes from the debris before he was batted away hard by the side of the sword.

"Eh? I thought you could track me? Why didn't you avoid it?" Naruto didn't get angry like he expected but rather appeared to get more excited. That hit definitely dislocated his arm and fractured the bone. Naruto's eyes lost the crosshairs as they turned red signaling Zegar taking over. A loud crunch could be heard as Naruto looked to be chewing on something. Zabuza confused glanced at his weapon and saw a huge chunk bitten out the side of it. The sight made him both astonished and angry. 'When did he?!'

Naruto swallowed the sizeable amount of metal like it was nothing and grinned.

"Hahaha this is getting fun!" He swung his arm out and the bones reset themselves in seconds. He took off at high speed straight at Zabuza with a wild gaze. He jabbed his guantlet out at him like a lance. A loud clang resounded as Zabuza blocked it with the flat of his blade deflecting Naruto. The kid strafed to the side of the sword to go in from an opening and swiped at Zabuza's side, but the veteran mist nin jumped back narrowly avoiding the claws. Naruto stepped forward and launched a high kick. Zabuza caught the foot that almost hit his face and threw the kid down. Naruto caught himself and sped up back at him. Zabuza returned with a wide swing. Naruto ducked under this and used the exposed blindspot to go in for the kill. He pulled out a white rod from his pouch and formed a staff while crouched before pouncing at Zabuza and forcing the staff through his chest. Zabuza's eyes widened before he smirked and turned into water. Naruto was started as he suddenly felt a presence behind him right before a sharp object cut diagonally down his back. The hit made him stumble forward a bit and was somewhat deep but he was fine.

'Tch...' Naruto recovered and was about to dash back at Zabuza only for the Mist Nin to be intercepted and blocked by Kakashi. He noticed that it looked like the sword was rebuilding part of itself with his blood, but the part that was rebuilt looked darker than the rest of the blade, almost black.

Naruto's brow furrowed at this. "Hatake what the hell?"

The copy nin didn't even look back as he grunted his answer. "This one is too strong for you, I will handle things from here you kids just protect Tazuna-san." Naruto didn't like the belittling tone that Kakashi's speech was laced with.

"Like hell you will-!" Naruto stepped forward only to be stopped by a water clone of Zabuza. He looked around and saw that there were 7 clones and that they had him and the others surrounded.

"Tch, fine then." Naruto straighten and his eye's turned violet again as he took a deep breath. The cut on his back was only shallow now, that moment Zegar took over sped up his healing a lot. His eyes took their usual lazy gaze as he as he walked towards 5 of the clones. He left the 2 clones in the back to Sasuke to prove his worth.

Jibril and Kukamu were watching off from the side as if everyone forgot about them.

Naruto held his staff limp on one side and keep the other arm loose at his side. He motioned for the clones to come at him with his hand. His eyes took on their lazy gaze as he reactivated his Keirogan.

"Lets try this again." Like that was the signal all the clones ran at him. As they closed in on Naruto it was like time slowed down for a second and his eyes darted from side to side as they locked with the body of each one. Right when 2 of them were on him with their swords he jumped up in the air and their weapons cracked the ground.

One of the clones smirked at the kids poor move. "Hmph, gaki's wide open now. As Naruto came down the clone performed a rising slash on his body. They were surprised when it was deflected by the scarf. Naruto twisted in the air and one of its flaps formed a large monster hand and knocked the blade to the side. The motion made Naruto spin the other direction and lash out the other flap of the scarf. The clone wasn't able to react fast enough before it was sliced in half at the midsection, dissolving into water shortly later.

Naruto scratched his head. "Well that was easier than I thought..." The two arms of his scarf went up behind him in an X to block two swords aimed at him. The owners of the t weapons were knocked back several meters. As this happened the other two remaining clones closed in on Naruto from the sides. Naruto pivoted and twisted inbetween two horizontal swing, barely dodging both weapons. Before touching down and jumping back and out of the way. He lock his crosshairs on the forms of the 4 remaining clones again as he started bouncing on his feet. He began spinning the staff in his hand off to the side and around him. He twirled it faster and faster before it became a blur as faint sparks could be seen trailing behind him and the staff started to hum. With a huff he randomly chucked it at the water clones like a disc. One of them was ready and held his weapon to block it, but when he did he was definitely in for a shock.

*Zap* The clone was paralyzed as a shock was discharged from the staff when it came in contact with the weapon and bounced off. Just that fast Naruto closed the distance to catch his staff and swung it at the head of the clone making it explode in a shower of water as it dispersed.

"Thats two down-" He grunted as he put a hand over his eyes as they lost the crosshairs. 'Guh can't use these too long.' The clones noticed this instantly and smirked.

"Oh so you can't keep those things on for too long can you gaki? Lets see if you can still fight without them."

Two of the clones blitzed Naruto causing him to jump back out of the way. One came up at his side causing him to roll. The other capitalized onto this moment and sliced down on him. Naruto quickly pushed up into a handstand and blocked the blade with his feet. 'My socks are as durable as my scarf afterall... speaking of which."

On cue his scarf lashed out at the clone and split him in half. Naruto jumped up on his feet but as soon as he did there clone that stayed back got up behind him and touched his back. Naruto's eyes widened when he heard the clone utter Suirō no Jutsu (Water Prison Jutsu). Naruto looked down and the water from the 2 clones he already just defeated gather around him to submerge him in a sphere of water. Naruto coughed up bubbles of air as he struggled to get out.

"Its no use Gaki. You did a good job but you aren't getting out of that. This is checkmate."

"Is it really?" Naruto had gone into the lotus position and pressed his hands together with his eyes closed. The Zabuza clones were confused for a moment. 'How can he move so easily and why is he so calm.

The prison started to shake as a shell of wind formed an inch off of Naruto all around him. It was when that shell started to shine bright that the other clone decided to stop Naruto. It thrusted its blade right at the boy. Right when it was about to touch the water Naruto smirked under his scarf. "I've won, Teionton: Shōgekiha (Bass Release: Shockwave).

Right at that moment there was a low boom as a sphere of energy exploded outward from the prison. The wave of translucent energy vaporized Naruto's container and the two remaining close and dispersed any remaining fog. His eyes turned red again and you could tell he was grinning as he stood.

Naruto twitched periodically as he slouched his posture as sparks ran around his body. 'Kekeke I'm so good I shock myself sometimes! Hahaha get it? Because I just literally shocked myse-' He was cut off by one of the voices in his head. 'Zegar shut up you don't need to explain to yourself your own jokes that just ruins it. If your going to do it at least let other people hear you...'

"Yare yare fine then Aza. Now lets see how that cyclops is doing."

Most of the mist had dispersed by now allowing Naruto to see clearly. He looked over at where Sasuke was only to see him still struggling against one. The Uchiha wasn't unscathed either as he still had a number of cuts on his body.

'Tch was he too afraid to even use his Sharingan or was it not enough? Well at least he got one so I guess that shows some skill. Jibril!'

'Hai Master, are you okay?' He looked at her across the field but they spoke through their seals.

'I'm going to go see how the cyclops is doing, you go finish off the Uchiha's clone.'

Now given here job she went to complete it. She never knew she would regret letting him out her and Kukamu's sight that approached the edge of a lake in the direction of where he felt their presences.

"Okay Hatake lets see how you're doing." He squinted through the mist as it cleared and was able to see Kakashi stuck in a water prison by Zabuza.

"Ara the Jonin got stuck. Why wouldn't he just use lightning jutsu to get out? I mean sure he would get electrocuted along with the mist nin but I would rather take my enemy down with my than let myself be drowned by them. Oh well lets get this over with."

Naruto held one arm up as built up teionton in the palm of his currently armored hand. The translucent chakra sparked and hummed along his hand as he increased it before he heard a whirling sound behind him. His eye's widened as he turned his head towards the noise.

*With Jibril*

She was standing behind the last clone while holding a spear of light throw its chest. It didn't take her long to take care of it, and by that she means all she did was run up behind and stab him. Though she did have the element of surprise on her side. Sasuke stood off to the side panting. He was a little roughed up but was otherwise fine. As soon as the clone dispersed back into water, Jibril and Kukamu's ears twitched as the head a heavy whirling noise back towards the lake.

Their eyes widened in fear for Naruto but they weren't able to warn him fast enough.

*Back with Naruto*

As Naruto turned he saw the real Zabuza behind him spinning his blade above his head like a helicopter. 'Wait the one on the lake is a clone?!' Naruto wasn't able to ponder this any longer as Zabuza brought all the momentum he built up from spinning the blade down. The next few seconds was like slow motion and with Naruto's eyes it might as well have been. But that didn't mean he could keep up with them just yet, and him getting caught off guard didn't help. He was only jump back a few feet narrowly avoiding the heavy slash that might have spilt him in half. But that movement didn't deter Zabuza as he step forward and pivoted on his feet spinning the blade around with his body. Now a strong horizontal swing Naruto reflexively arm one of his arms with a gauntlet and used it to block the blade.

Zabuza however was ready for this and twisted so that the black part of the blade formed from Naruto's own blood. would meet the unarmed part of his arm. Naruto gritted his teeth as he saw what would happen.

'BRAKE!' Time slowed down for real in the small area around the two. This would by Naruto a few more seconds but he was slowed down as well.

'Azazel Shift!' He's violet eyes took on green as well as he invoked his other side and with that his body hardened. A couple seconds went by and time went back to normal for him a split second before Zabuza. He used this extremely short time to try to jump back even further. He only had enough time to get off the ground.

*SCHINK*

His eye's dilated as the giant sword cut clean through his arm and halfway into his body. As soon as the blade cut through the arm and into his body the built up Teionton become unstable and imploded on Naruto with a burst of light, changing the rest of the swords attack from cutting power to blunt force that sent Naruto rocketing off to the side. It stopped Naruto from being cut in half but did heavy damage to his body.

Naruto was sent careening off to the side crashing through two trees and reducing the third into a broken stump. Dark blood pooled out from the large slice on his midsection and his stumb of an arm. He could practically feel the blood that wasn't already pooling on the ground, spilling into his cut open stomach.

"Argh!" He struggled to get up as the pain racked his body. He gritted his teeth as he lay prone on the ground as his blood dripped out the corners of his mouth. If it wasn't for Azazel he would ave been cut in half but because of that he was feeling more pain than he would normally. Naruto brought his other arm over his open wound. He was losing blood too fast.

'Why isn't it healing at all!?' His eyes snapped open when he heard Zabuza's voice.

"Down already? With all that talk I expected more from you gaki." Truth be told the kid did way better than he expected. At those words Naruto's body started to tremble as he pushed himself up with his one still available hand. His bladed tail emerged as he got up on his knees and flailed around agitatedly cutting through the air.

His eyes glared at Zabuza with X-shaped pupils. The force behind it was enough to make Zabuza wary.

Before Naruto could even say anything he lurched forward and coughed up blood on the ground. He instantly grew confused when he say the blood coagulate into small black and red metal spikes.

"Wha-" *SHINK* His eye's whited out as an explosion of pain came when a large metallic came out of his side. He struggled to get back up but the moment he tried a spike emerged from his stump of an arm.

"Naruto-sama!" Before Jibril and Kukamu could stop themselves they shouted out in panic though no one took note of it.

He crumbled back down onto the ground in pain over the spikes. It felt like thousands of thick little needles were trying to stab themselves out of his body. 'I-It hurts. Why does it hurt so much? Make it stop...' He grinded his teeth as he layed there on the ground struggling to get ahold of himself.

Zabuza just looked over at him from his spot next to the lake in curiousity. He could guess what the spikes were caused by.

"Just give up kid you've lost. It was too early for you to face me. I guess you weren't worth my time." Oh the irony as the swordsman turned and started walking on the lake to go finish off Kakashi. But in doing so he made a fatal mistake that he would come to regret if he lived past this day.

He pissed a Denizen off.

Naruto's eyes snapped back open at this.

'I will not give up. I will not give up. I will not give up.' He stabbed arm into the ground and used it to push himself up and in doing so cause another spike to shoot out his shoulder but kept going. He push himself up to his knees with his other hands as spikes shot out of that one but he kept going, his mind driven wild from the pain. His hair shadowed his face as he kept chanting "I will not give up", over and over. A dark aura started to surround his body as he now stood in a hunched manner. More spikes shot out of his legs but he paid it no mind.

*Shink shink shink shink* Could be heard repeatedly as the spikes kept growing out of his body.

"I wll not stop! I will not give up! My life will not stop!"

He clenched his arms as large amounts of electricity danced along his body. The act made spikes emerge even faster as they shot out of his knees, thighs, spine, back, torso. Nothing stopped him as the charge collected in his tail until it started to shine like a solid beam of light. All that could be seen on his face was a white orb of an eye glowing through the shadows of his hair, a sight that made Kakashi relive flashbacks from an even that happened years before. Zabuza who by now was only a few feet away from the copy nin saw that his look of fright was not cause by him and turned to see the cause of it. "What?!"

"And I haven't lost yet!" The glowing bladed tail shot forward and stabbed into the lake electrocuting both shinobi occupying it. The body of water was completely lit up as the two shinobi screamed out in pain as the last water clone holding Kakashi was destroy.

"HAHAHAHA YES FRY YOU-" *SHINK!* Naruto blinked as a metal spike burst out of the side of his neck.

"De...?" Was all he was able to utter before he passed out unable to hear Jibril and Kukamu's shouts as they ran towards him.

*Mindscape*

Zraiarz stood over Naruto's wounded, unconscious form with a look of curiosity, paying particular attention to the abnormal spikes.

"Well Naruto you played a dangerous game and paid the price for it. Question is, now what are you going to do about this?"

AN: Yep so done. For you guys this I believe is the first chapter that I edited and read through completely before I posted. I figured if I'm gonna take this long I might as well try to do a better job. Also this chapter came out as good as I wanted. I conveyed just about everything I wanted. Some of the dialogue may not have been as strong as I wanted but in the grand scheme of things I think this turned out great. My spring break is in around 2 or 3 weeks. I will work on the DxD crossover then and I PLAN to have the next chapter of this story out before my break because I don't even know if I will be doing something or not.

Season 1 and 2 of Kuroko (Which surprised me because I hate sports anime for their bullshit. If you dont like sports or sports anime watch Kuroko no Basket. You will love that. I have literally gotten multiple people even a girl into watching that and they are diehard fans now.

I'm almost done with Season 1 of Railgun.

Since my semester started I've also been drawing more so I've lately been drawing Zraiarz/Naruto sense there aren't a whole lot of differences between them. For someone who doesn't draw people these are coming along really good. When I think they are where I want them to be I will send you guys the link on my profile but I will tell you on a chapter release before I do so. They look decent right now but I don't want you to get confused.
