"My my, Master Jack! Oh how you've grown into such a wonderful young officer!" Jack's teacher and master boasted. The new Jack Sparrow, the clean cut, the formal uniform, and the all new East India Trading Company officer.
"Mmh." Jack noises his uninterested feeling as he looks himself in the mirror.
"I'm sure you're just eager to start working on the field. However, you have only a few papers to look over and sort be for all is said n' done." His teacher informs him as he walks past him.
"Quite..." Jack murmurs.
"Off you go, to the Officers' quarters." He patted Jack on the back to get him moving.
Jack begins to walk out of the dress room. He walks stiffly down the elegant hallway, the pants feeling slightly uncomfortable, while the black officers uniform hugged his body and neck a bit too tight for his taste.
"You've really put in the effort, young master. Now that you've climbed up that ladder, your career will go strong." His teacher continued to boast, Jack is more concentrated on not trying to trip in these new boots.
They reach the Officers' quarters, a small classy room with a rounded table in the middle. Various maps, papers, and scroll sprawled about, along with a typical globe in the center of things.
"I see everyone is off busy early this morning. Perfect time for you to look over things peacefully."
Jack sits down at the table, as his teacher reaches for the right papers and hands it to him.
"Just look over things, see if things are to your liking, and sign." His teacher hands him a fine quill pen from his suit pocket, the jar of ink already set on the table. Jack looks at the papers, flips back and forth, even though he's actually not even reading it.
"So when do I start sailing, with all due respect sir?" Jack asks abruptly, his teacher chuckles a bit.
"Eager for the seas, huh? When ever a shipment needs to be made. Of course, you need to be assigned to said shipment. But not to worry, many shipments set sail everyday, I'm sure you'll always have a prove yourself to be worthy of a fine ship by fulfilling your duties on land. You should be thankful of your position, one does not merely wander upon a lonesome mapmaker's ship and escalate from his apprentice to such a prestigious rank as an officer in the 'ompany." He explains.
"My apologizes Teacher, a young man too eager, I understand. To be unappreciative of my position is a vice of greed." Jack couldn't help but feel a little doubtful, but signs away quickly.
"Wonderful you understand my dear boy, I will personally deliver them to the head. Enjoy your leisure time, but do make sure to be ready at any moment." His teacher scurries out the room, leaving Jack alone and under no surveillance.
