Epilogue

It had been a year since Juvia was kidnapped by Zander. Everything has been fairly calm since then. Juvia had moved in with Laxus and she loved it. People still liked to question their relationship. Saying things like, '' what a weird pairing'' and '' I never saw this coming''. But Juvia just ignored those people. She loved Laxus. And she will always love him. It doesn't matter to her if people approve of their relationship or not.

Now, don't get me wrong, they still had their fair share of arguments. Especially now that they were living together. But they always came back from those arguments. And it was because they loved each other. And after everything that happened, nothing was going to tear them apart again. Nothing. But enough about that. After waiting a year, tonight was the night. The night that Laxus was going to propose.

He had already bought the ring, with Mirajane's help. She wouldn't stop squealing, she was so excited. Laxus found it very annoying. Anyways, earlier today, he told Juvia that he was taking her out somewhere and that she should wear her best dress. That was eight hours ago. Laxus was already dressed and he was waiting for Juvia. Lucy, Levy, Mirajane, and Cana had insisted on taking Juvia away so that they could help her get ready. Laxus didn't care. He just wanted to make sure that they made it back on time. Laxus lifted his head when he heard the door open. He gaped at what he saw.

Juvia stood in the doorway, a heavy blush set on her cheeks. Lucy, Levy, Mirajane, and Cana made her buy new clothes for her date. She was wearing a deep navy blue dress and matching heels. Her dress accentuated her curves perfectly. Around her bust, the dress had been adorned with sparkling diamonds and glitter. She also had on white lace gloves that travelled from her hands to her elbows. Lucy used Cancer to style her hair into a tight updo with Juvia's butterfly clip as her only accessory. And as for her makeup, Lucy decided to use a deep blue eye shadow that matched her dress, along with eyeliner and mascara. Lucy had also used a dark blue lipstick for Juvia's lips. Laxus was speechless. Juvia's blush deepened.

''We should leave, shouldn't we?'' she muttered, her voice wavering as Laxus continued to stared at her. Laxus closed his eyes and blinked. He slowly approached Juvia and took her hand.

''You look so beautiful.'' he whispered. Juvia smiled shyly.

''Don't say that.''

''But it's true. Now c'mon, we need to leave.''

Laxus has a reservation set for one of the pretigious restaurants in all of Fiore. He wanted this night to be perfect. So he had to go big. Laxus and Juvia arrived at the restaurant and they were quickly led to their table. Throughout the night, they had talked about whatever they could think of. Eventually, they finished their meal and left the restaurant. Instead of going straight home, Laxus took a slight detour.

''Where are we going?'' Juvia asked.

''You'll see.'' Laxus replied. He eventually stopped in a wide open field. The stars and the moon were completely out by now. Juvia looked around in awe. She turned to face Laxus.

''Why are we here?'' she asked. Laxus grinned.

''You'll see. Turn around.'' Juvia did as she was told. She gasped. Right above her head, written in huge letters made of lightning was the words, ''Juvia Lockser, will you marry me?'' Juvia was speechless. She turned back around to see Laxus holding out a dark blue box. She looked in inside the box and almost cried at the ring that was inside.

A large sapphire gem was in the center of the ring. Several, smaller gems were decorated around the larger gem. Tiny little diamonds filled in the rest of the spaces. But that wasn't the only thing about the ring that made Juvia want to cry. Engraved in the center of the gem, was a tiny raindrop and a lightning bolt. The lightning bolt was larger than the raindrop and if you looked closely, it looked like the lightning bolt was protecting the raindrop. Most people wouldn't understand the sentiment, but Juvia did. The lightning bolt represented Laxus and the raindrop represented her. Laxus being the lightning bolt, would always protect Juvia, the raindrop. And Juvia, being the raindrop, will always remain by Laxus, the lightning bolt's side. Juvia looked at the ring and blinked back tears.

''Yes.'' she whispered. She looked up at Laxus and smiled. '' Juvia will marry you.'''

Laxus smiled and slowly slipped the ring on her finger. It fit perfectly. Juvia stood there, admiring the ring. She couldn't believe that this beautiful ring now belonged to her. She gripped the back of Laxus' head and kissed him. Laxus wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against him. Juvia weaved her fingers through his hair. They stayed like that for a long time. After what felt like centuries, they pulled away. Laxus pressed their foreheads together. Juvia smiled breathlessly.

''Juvia can't believe that you did this.'' she whispered.

''I'd do anything for you. I love you.''

''I love you too.'' Laxus took Juvia's hand.

''Let's stay here tonight.'' he said. Juvia nodded and layed herself on the ground with Laxus following suit. Laxus pulled Juvia close and together they stared at the stars and the moon shining brightly in the sky. Juvia smiled.

Today was the beginning of a bright future. Juvia would never want to be anywhere but here. In the arms of the man she loved. No matter what happens, she will always love this man.

After all, water and lightning do make a good team.
