A/N: Alright, to Guest that prefers to be unnamed, look, I would've just let this comment go if it was constructed criticism, but this was in no way a respectful comment. To begin with, you haven't even read the story, and you decide to comment on my cast, which does tick me off. You are a guest, and as far as I know has never written a story, so it would be hard for you to understand the process that occurs when I am writing and picking out actors. I hate reusing actors because it makes me feel unoriginal, and I have really never used these actors in my work before. I'm sorry you have a problem with the actors I chose, and that I don't watch indie movies to pick characters for, but that is your problem and not mine. I will not change anything due to your comment. This is not your work. If you want something better, write something yourself. I do not wish to see you again commenting on my stories.
To everyone else, I am so terribly sorry for my rant, and thank you for reviewing/enjoying my story!
Disclaimer: I do not own any songs or singers that I use or mention in the series.
Nathan is portrayed by Max Schneider
A young man ran through the park, hoping to get in a jog before work, though he was running short on time. He hoped to cut through the park on his route, but he was sure he would be late.
He began to run faster, until an object hit his back and knocked him to the ground. He groaned and sat up looking around, finding a tennis ball to be the source of the hit. He looked around, seeing no one else in sight.
He was severely confused. Who would be playing tennis at 6:00 am? And who would have enough strength to hit a grown man down with a tennis ball?
He heard laughter, and was beginning to get frightened, as he found no source of the laughter. He stood back up and ran faster, trying to get out of the park as fast as possible, but something hit him again, this time in the head and made him fall down, barely conscious.
He saw a monster towering over him. "Please, leave me alone. I have a family." He pleaded.
The alien, known to most as Spokorn, laughed as he lifted the man onto his shoulder and disappeared in a flurry of color.

Scott sat on the bench in front of the piano, practicing the song he was going to play in his music class. He decided to finally add the words in.
"Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carryin' on
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on
You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
(Oh, on a holiday)
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong
(Yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah)
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day."
As he ended, he heard a person clapping and turned to see a guy walking into the theater - where he was practicing - clapping and smiling as he walked up onto the stage and put his bag down near the back. Scott was confused at the sight of this person, as he thought he was the only person at school this early.
The guy, another student, walked up to the piano and leaned on it, looking at Scott. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and was a bit shorter than Scott. "You're pretty good." He smiled.
Scott smiled back, a bit nervous. This guy was very handsome and Scott found himself attracted to him. "Uhh... Thanks." He stood up, knocking the bench down. Scott chuckled nervously and put it back up as the guy laughed.
"No problem." He held out his hand. "I'm Nathaniel, but you can call me Nathan."
Scott smiled a bit as he shook his hand. "Wait, Nathaniel Alexander?"
"The one and only." Nathan nodded. "I'm guessing you know about me because all the jerks around this school are always taunting me about my sexuality, right?"
Scott cringed. "Yeah, I'm sorry."
"Don't be, their just jerks." Nathan smiled. "What's your name?"
"Scott, Scott Thomas." He answered.
"Nice." Nathan said. "So, what are you doing here at 6 am, anyway?"
"I could ask you the same thing." Scott smirked.
Nathan laughed. "You could, and I would say that I came here to practice music, like you seem to be doing."
"Yeah, I'm practicing for a test in music class." Scott responded.
"I'd say you'll get an A." Nathan smiled. "You're really good. You should try out for the Glee club. That's what I'm practicing for. Maybe we could do a duet." He smirked. "That is, if you're up to it."
"Bring it on." Scott smiled, and let Nathan sit down next to him.

Matt waited outside of Sol Valley High for Nikki. She was getting back from her grandmothers, and had some news for him. Whether it was good or bad, he did not know, but he waited to find out nonetheless.
"Matt!" Nikki called out as she ran up and jumped into his arms.
"Nikki!" He smiled as he spun her around, taking in that she was finally back home. "I'm so glad you're back. I missed you."
He let her down and her smile dropped. "What's wrong?" Matt asked, worried he did something wrong.
"Matt, we need to talk." Nikki bit her lip nervously as they walked over to a nearby bench and she took his hand in hers. "You know about my grandmother being ill and, well..."
"Oh, no, Nikki, I'm so sorry." Matt frowned, squeezing her hand.
"No, it's not that." Nikki shook her head.
"Then what's wrong? Are you breaking up with me?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
"No! No, of course not. My mom and dad have decided to go back to stay with my grandmother. Permanently." Nikki's voice broke at the end, and she looked down and their hands, not wanting to see his expression.
Matt was in utter shock. Nikki was moving hundreds of miles away. "Forever?" He asked, his voice quiet.
Nikki nodded. "We're coming back a few times a year, but I won't be able to see you fully again until I turn 18."
"But.. that's two years from now." Matt said.
"I know. I'm so sorry." Nikki responded.
"It's not your fault." Matt shook his head. He touched her cheek lightly and made her look at him. "What does this mean for us?"
Nikki shrugged. "I don't know. I guess we're gonna have to.. break up again." Her voice choked up, and he knew she was crying, even though he was looking away to hide his devastation.
"No." He said, turning back to her and cupping her face in his hands. "We'll be fine. We can text, email, write, anything. We can make it work."
"Do you really think we can?" Nikki asked him, touching his hand.
"I know we can." He kissed her forehead. "When do you leave?"
She took a shaky breath. "Tonight. My parents are already packing up and giving things away. I'm supposed to go help them."
"I understand." Matt pursed his lips. "I'll see you tonight. I want to see you before you leave."
They both stood up together and Nikki nodded. "I want to see you too. I'll see you for sure, right?" She asked, just before she was about to leave.
He wiped a tear from her eye. "You can count on it."

"...I know it's hard, know it's hard,
To remember sometimes,
But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
Only rainbows after rain
The sun will always come again.
It's a circle, circling,
Around again, it comes around again.
I said,
Only rainbows after rain
The sun will always come again.
It's a circle, circling,
Around again, it comes around,
But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
You gotta keep your head up, oh,

As Nathan and Scott finished, they both looked at each other and smiled. "That was great. We're gonna get in for sure!" Nathan laughed in victory.
"It's gonna be really fun." Scott said, standing up.
"Hey, where are you going?" Nathan asked, seeing Scott grab his backpack. He stood up and looked at Scott as he waited for an answer.
"I was gonna go to the library to study a bit for my chemistry test." Scott responded, taking his textbook out of his backpack to show Nathan.
"Damn, AP chem? You're smart." Nathan smiled. He paused for a second before retrieving his backpack and walking back over to Scott. "I'm gonna go with you."
"Do you know anything about chemistry?" Scott asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I passed with a B, so I can try to help." Nathan shrugged. "Why; you don't want me there?"
"No, it's not that. I mean, of course I want you there. No.. not to sound desperate for company.. I mean.. ugh." Scott groaned, cursing his nervous mind.
"Calm down." Nathan laughed. "I get it. Let's go. Don't worry, I won't annoy you too much."
"Oh, joy." Scott joked.

James decided to go on a pre-school run. This, however, soon turned out to be a mistake. He was hit with an object and nearly fell. He groaned and picked up the offending object: a golf-ball.
"Who has thrown this?" He asked, looking around, but finding no one in sight. He thought this was slightly strange; usually there were people around, and if there were no people, who would've thrown the ball?
He held onto it as he began to run back towards AD. Again, something hit him, this time something larger and stronger that made him lose his balance and fall over in the dirt. He looked around, and this time, found a softball to be the object.
"Who has thrown these objects?" James called out louder, only to be answered with an object slamming into the side of his head, leaving him barely conscious, his vision blurry and blackened at the edges.
A gold club came into his line of view. "Finally a ranger." A deep voice cackled above him, and he found himself being lifted onto the back of an alien before losing his fight to stay conscious.

At lunch that same day, the majority of the rangers gathered at their usual table, however, a few choice people were missing - Scott, Spencer, Alice, and James.
"Where is everyone?" Mason asked as he sat down and leaned his skateboard against the bench.
"I don't know." Matt spoke up. "Spencer and Alice left fourth period faster than anyone else and I haven't seen Scott or James all day."
"Where could they possibly be?" Jesse asked. "I mean, they couldn't have gone far."
"I saw Scott earlier walking with some guy to the music room. Maybe they're practicing together." Robin input.
"Maybe." Jesse nodded.
Just then, a girl with brown hair and blue eyes sat down at their table, looking flushed. "James is missing." She blurted out, quiet enough so only the table could hear.
"And you are...?" Jesse asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Anna, the Nephilim, remember? James' best friend." She answered.
"You're Anna?" Robin asked. "Oh, well, it's nice to meet you, but what did you mean by, 'James is missing?'"
"I was supposed to meet him in the park for our morning run as usual, but when I got there I saw an alien dragging him away. I tried to stop him, to no avail." Anna explained. "I'm sorry, rangers."
"It's fine, we'll find him." Matt assured her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Being a Nephilim, my wounds have already healed. I'm just worried about James. This alien is named Spokorn, and he attacks when people do physical activities, such as running, and his attacks are all sport related. I saw a golf club around the area James was taken from. My best guess: he was taken after Spokorn caught him off guard by hitting him over the head."
"Great, so he's missing and injured. This should be easy." Mason rolled his eyes.
"Who's missing and injured?" Alice asked as she and Spencer sat down at the table next to each other, Spencer still sporting the black eye from a few days before.
"James." Anna said.
"Who's this?" Spencer asked, raising an eyebrow at his teammates.
"This is James' best friend, Anna. The Nephilim." Robin introduced.
"Oh." Spencer nodded. "Okay, well, why is James missing exactly?"
Anna began to explain everything.

Scott and Nathan walked around until they found a shady area to sit down on a bench near the field. Other students ran around playing soccer, football, baseball, and some were playing basketball in the courts nearby.
"It's a nice day." Scott said, breathing in the fresh air. It was sunny, with almost no clouds in the sky.
"Yeah, it's kinda odd for October, but yeah, it's a really great day. I've enjoyed spending it with you, Scott." Nathan smiled, looking at the black ranger.
"Really? Thanks." Scott smiled back.
The two both looked at each other before looking out at the field and watching people play their games. They sat in silence, and just when Scott opened his mouth to speak up again, they heard screaming that cut him off.
The two stood up and stared in shock as an alien modeled after sports ran around, using Zorima to catch multiple people, one of which was Andrew Walker, Alice's older brother.
Scott looked over at Nathan, who wasn't fearful like most others. He stared at the alien with intense hatred, instead of fear. "Stay here." Scott instructed, but as he was about to go and fight, Nathan grabbed his arm.
"Let me come with you." Nathan said, eyes pleading with him not to go.
"No, it's too dangerous. I don't want anything to happen to you." Scott replied, shaking his head.
Nathan was shocked for a moment at Scott's words, but decided to respond to them. "I don't want anything to happen to you either, though."
Scott froze, before smiling. "Be careful, and let me deal with the monster, alright?"
Nathan nodded. "You're really brave." He complimented as the two ran towards the monster.
"Thanks. You too." Scott said as he grabbed the first Zorima he saw and threw it into the alien before picking up a baseball bat that was discarded on the floor. The alien threw a basketball at him, which Scott hit with the bat so hard that it came back and struck Spokorn, making him fall into the ground.
"Who are you?" Spokorn growled, looking at Scott.
Scott rushed forward and tackled the monster to the ground before whispering, "I'm the black ranger." He punched Spokorn in the face before being thrown off to the side. A hand came in his line of view, and he took it to help himself up - it was Nathan's hand. As he stood, he looked around and saw Spokorn gone.
"That wasn't much of a battle." Scott frowned. "Hopefully w... the Power Rangers have a better fight." He corrected himself as he was about to reveal his identity to Nathan.
Nathan narrowed his eyes at Scott. "Is there something you wanna tell me, Scott? That seemed too good for a regular civilian."
"What do you mean?" Scott asked, his breath hitching.
"No regular person can fight like that. The only people I've ever seen fight like that are the Power Rangers. Are you a ranger?" Nathan asked, staring at Scott, hoping to find an answer in his expressions or movements.
"Nathan, I..."
"No, Scott, be honest with me. Please." He took one of Scott's hands and squeezed it comfortingly, making Scott smile against his will. Nathan smiled a bit too, beginning to realize something he hadn't before.
"Please, just don't tell anyone." Scott pleaded with his friend. "How could you even tell anyway?"
"I've watched the rangers fight a few times on TV, and I noticed a similar fighting style between you and the black ranger, and I sorta heard you when you told the monster who you were." Nathan said sheepishly. He then realized he was still holding Scott's hand, and reluctantly let go. Scott, however, reached for it.
"Don't let go." Scott told him. "Please."
Nathan squeezed his hand. "I won't, but you never told me you're..."
"I haven't told anyone really. Just close friends and..." He trailed off for a second before continuing. "Family." He wasn't talking about his real family, just Quentin.
Nathan frowned. "You're still in the closet about it?"
"I wouldn't be if I was with you."
Nathan smiled a bit. "You would reveal that to everyone to be with me? Wow, no one's ever done that." He leaned in and hugged Scott. "You're great."
Scott was stunned for a second before he wrapped his arms around the other boy. "No, you are."
~PRDS~
By the time the other rangers had gotten to the field, Spokorn and some of the people playing sports were gone. Robin smiled, though, as she saw Scott standing in the field with another boy, hugging affectionately. That's so cute, she thought, grabbing Jesse's hand.
Alice, however, frowned deeply. She ran up to some of the football players, and grabbed the arm of one of them, pulling him away from them. "Carson, where's Drew?" She looked around, but saw her brother nowhere.
"I don't know. Ask around, maybe he got away without me seeing him." Carson Mack, a sophomore and a JV football player who often played with Varsity at lunch, answered her question honestly. "Sorry, Alice."
"It's fine." Alice took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She looked around, and spotted Spencer talking to Reese, and ran over to them. "Hey, have you seen my brother?" She asked Reese, as he played on the team with Drew. Despite Reese's injuries, he was still one of the best football players at the school, and was immediately given a spot on the team - which had been left open for him - when he was well enough to play.
Reese bit his lip. "He was taken by Spokorn, I'm sorry. I tried to stop him." Reese was roughed up, which did concern Spencer.
"You did what you could." Spencer assured him. "Now, leave it to us to find him and everyone else, right, Alice?"
Alice took a shaky breath and nodded. "Yeah, of course."
"Alice!" Alice's oldest brother, Damon Walker ran up and hugged her tightly. He was one of the language arts teachers at the school, and taught all of the rangers, including Alice.
"Damon." She hugged him and let out tears that stained his shirt. "I'm sorry, Drew's gone."
"What?" The two pulled away and he looked around, and didn't see his younger brother. He took a deep breath and turned back to Alice, who looked about ready to cry again. He had to be strong for her, despite how weak he felt, knowing he couldn't do anything.
Reese and Spencer, feeling as if they were intruding on this moment, slowly moved away. When they felt far enough away, Spencer grabbed Reese's arm and held him back from walking any further. Spencer opened his mouth to speak, but the PA system came on before he could do so.
"Attention students and staff, due to the attacks, school has been canceled until further notice. Please evacuate the area or campus security will escort you off. Thank you for your cooperation and we will see you all back soon enough." The PA system shut off and Spencer turned to his brother.
"Come on, we're going to AD." Spencer said, gesturing for Reese to follow him.
"Why?" Reese asked, raising an eyebrow. He sighed. "Spence, I'm fine. Trust me."
"Please, just let me. Ever since..." He shuddered. "I just want to make sure."
Reese put a hand on his shoulder and nodded with a smile. "Let's go, little brother."
Spencer smiled, but turned back for a second and let his smile fall. Reese turned to see what had made his brother frown, and saw Alice crying with Mr. Walker. "Hold on." Spencer told him and ran over to Alice.
Reese smiled as he watched Spencer take her arm comfortingly before leading her over. The three walked to AD in silence.
~PRDS~
"That's amazing." Nathan said in awe as Scott finished his story about being a ranger so far. "What is this place?" He asked, pointing to AD, where Scott had led him.
"This is AD, our.. command center of sorts." Scott answered as he pulled Nathan inside, making the boy gape at everything.
Kyro watched the black ranger from the other room with Nathan and sighed. "Since he doesn't know, I'll have to act to keep it quiet until he's ready." Kyro muttered to himself as he stood up and walked into the main room, where Nathan spotted him.
Nathan gave him a look before turning to Scott. "Who's that?"
"That's Kyro, our mentor." Scott smiled, reaching for Nathan's hand, who smiled and clasped his hand.
Kyro raised an eyebrow as the others came in. The two turned around and Nathan's eyes widened at the others. "Guys, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend, Nathan." Scott introduced him to them with a proud smile.
"That's great, Scott." Robin smiled, then frowned slightly. "But we have a problem so you need to.. you know..." She gestured slightly to the door.
"No, he knows." Scott said. "He found out when I was fighting off Spokorn."
The other rangers stared at him wearily, but they all went into the living room to talk, besides Spencer and Reese of course.
Spencer made Reese sit down in a chair and got out a first aid kit. He took out the rubbing alcohol and cotton balls, dipping the latter in the former and beginning to dab at a small cut on Reese's forehead. His older brother winced slightly.
"Sorry. Does that hurt?" Spencer asked, going a bit more gentle with it.
"Not too much. I have a pretty much higher pain tolerance now." Reese answered, making Spencer's face fall.
"How is that doing, anyway?" Spencer asked quietly, biting his lip.
Reese chuckled. "Fine, Spence, it was like five months ago."
"I know, but you never know what could happen."
Reese smiled and put a hand on his shoulder. "Thanks, Spencer."
"For what?"
"For caring more than anyone else, even mom and dad." Reese responded.
Spencer gave him a funny look. "Why wouldn't I? You'd do the same thing for me."
Reese smiled as they got quiet. Spencer began cleaning out the scrape on his cheek, being gentle about it.
"I wonder how the people are doing." Reese said, catching Spencer's attention. "The ones captured. Times like this make me wish I could be a ranger like you guys."
Spencer pursed his lips. He was scared that someday Reese could become a ranger. As amazing as it would be to have his older brother on the team, he was deathly afraid of anything happening to him. He didn't want to say anything to Reese about this, so he addressed the other thing he had said.
"Probably not too good." Spencer responded, right when the alarm went off.

Inside the abandoned building Spokorn had chosen to keep people, James began to shift slightly and opened his eyes slowly. He groaned his pain and rubbed his head, before finding a painful knot in the back. He felt weak and let his arm drop as he looked around and took in his surroundings.
People were scattered everywhere, looking similar to a rag doll that had been thrown carelessly to the floor after a child got a bored. The building a large warehouse with crumbling walls and cracking ceilings held up by weak support beams. The floor was hard and concrete, making it extremely uncomfortable and cold as ice.
James shivered, but immediately stopped moving when he saw Zorima walking in with more people, one of which he recognized as Alice's older brother, Andrew. After the Zorima dropped the people and left, he wanted to go over to him, wake him, and help him get out with his life. Not that the others didn't matter to him, but rangers' families, no matter which ones, were always first priority right under the rangers themselves. However, his head pounded with every movement, and he felt that he may pass out at any moment. He didn't think he could make it over there, and even if he did, how would he help Andrew out?
Jame sighed and leaned his head back against the cold floor and began to drifted back in oblivion when he heard shots from blasters being shot just outside. He could see that he was really the only person awake, and began to call out. It worked, because Alice and Spencer came running in, Alice immediately going to her brother, and Spencer over to him.
"Are you alright?" The blue ranger asked, looking him over.
James shook his head slightly, as to avoid the pounding in his head, but it came nonetheless. "My head." He pointed to the spot and felt Spencer touch the knot with his gloved hand.
Spencer cringed and let go of the area. "Can you walk? I need to get you out of here."
"I will try." James said.
Spencer stood up and slowly pulled James to his feet. Immediately, James swayed and collapsed, leaving Spencer to carry him out.
Alice was having the same problem with her brother, but Andrew would not wake up. He was still breathing and his heart was still pumping, but he wasn't going to wake up. She bit her lip and knew there was nothing she could do. She was too small to lift him and if he couldn't wake up, she couldn't even try. Dead weight was hard to carry, especially when the person you're trying to carry weighs way more than you. She decided to stay with him until she could get some help.
Meanwhile, the other rangers were fighting off Spokorn. Jesse and Robin ran up, jumped, and flipped through the air before bringing their swords down on the alien's head. He fell back, but just as Robin and Jesse smiled in victory, he shot them back with two soccer balls that sent them flying into a pile of boxes.
Scott ran up next, but before he could get up there, Spokorn tackled him like a football player, sending him straight into the ground and knocking the wind out of him. Spokorn got up and wacked Matt with a baseball bat just as the red ranger was getting to his feet, and sent him back into the dirt.
Mason blasted him from behind and didn't wait for anything to happen. He ran over and tackled Spokorn instead, and began punching the alien multiple times. When Spokorn seemed down for the count, he got off, but Spokorn kicked Mason's feet, making him fall over before throwing a shotput on his back, making him cry out in pain and stay down.
Just then, Spencer arrived back from getting James to a safe place and blasted Spokorn multiple times before jumping up and slashing him to the ground. Spencer held his blaster pointed at Spokorn and shot it at a very short distance, making him fly back into the warehouse wall, crashing through it, but destroying Sporkorn.
"Spencer!" Jesse yelled, helping Robin up before running into the warehouse. He saw the blue ranger, unmorphed, stumbling around with Alice, and dragging her brother out.
Spencer was injured, it was obvious, but he was okay. "Call an ambulance to get these people to the hospital, including Andrew. I'm sorry, Alice, we have to leave him."
Alice nodded but said nothing. She and Spencer carefully laid Andrew in the sun outside and the rangers ran, as fast as they could with their injuries, away from the scene.
Spencer stopped suddenly by a bunch of bushes and pulled James out, to the other rangers' surprise. "I couldn't get him back to AD in time." Spencer explained. Jesse and Matt took James from him and they all ran back to AD.
~PRDS~
Alice left to go to the hospital as soon as Damon called her, and she had pretended to be shocked. Her brothers didn't know she was a ranger. She ran through the halls until she got to Andrew's room and she immediately rushed to him and hugged him. His eyes were open.
"I'm so glad you're okay." She whispered. She looked around and didn't see Damon anywhere. "Where's Damon? Is he here yet?"
Andrew shook his head and leaned back into the pillow. "No, he hasn't been here. Not that I know of." His voice was soft and weak, and it showed that he had been injured.
"Andrew." Damon's strong voice came from the doorway. "Thank God." He said as he walked over to the other side of him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you alright?"
"I'm alright, but they said I can't be released until tomorrow." Andrew said.
"That's fine. As long as you're okay, right, Alice?" Damon looked to Alice, who nodded. "Agreed." She said.
Next time on Power Rangers Dino Squad: Jesse find himself in a bit of trouble when something from his past comes back to haunt him, leaving everyone worried. Meanwhile, Scott and Nathan's attempts to get into the Glee club work out, but this makes the others wonder how much time this will take the black ranger away from fighting evil. Also, James begins to catch on to 21st century ways of talking and slang, and reveals who helped him.
