James

James had known Sakura long enough by then to know that she was tough. Consequentially, if something scared her, that thing made James quiver in his boots, so to speak.

Therefore, when the wall of darkness encased the stadium, trapping him, Logan, Sakura and everyone else inside it with George Hawk and his mercenaries, James was definitely 'quivering in his boots'.

"I know you're there," George Hawk called out into the silence.

"Move," ordered Sakura. "You two need to find Kelley and Gustavo, and stay out of sight."

"Where are you going?" asked James before Logan could drag him down the side stairs.

Sakura tried to smile reassuringly. "To distract them and find out what they want."

James didn't feel reassured.

"Just go!" insisted Sakura. "I'll be fine. I think they're after you guys."

"Big Time Rush, come with me and I'll spare everyone else in the stadium!" announced Hawk.

While James and Logan snuck down the stairs, James couldn't help but wonder.

"Why is Hawk here?" he hissed at Logan. "And why does he have someone like Sakura with him?"

"I don't know," whispered Logan. "I think he wants us again. I'm scared, James," he admitted.

James slung his arm around one of his best friends' shoulders. "Me too buddy, me too."

Sakura

Sakura had never been so nervous in her life.

Well, okay, she'd probably had other moments, but that one felt pretty important.

"Get it together, Sakura," she breathed, flipping the safety off her gun.

"I won't ask again," boomed Hawk. From her perch, Sakura could see one of Hawk's bodyguards holding a sound technician at gunpoint.

"Haruno, do you copy?" crackled the voice of Sakura's head of patrol. "We have a hostage situation. Are you in position to save the hostage?"

She heard him perfectly. However, she had her own plans.

"I'm going to distract the perps," she told the walkie-talkie. "Once their attention is on me, you extract the hostage. Meanwhile, assign one unit to protect the civilians and another to search for anyone remaining in the stadium."

Sakura could feel, rather than hear her superior wrestling with the idea of a teenage girl giving him orders.

"Haruno, what is your position?" said another member of her patrol.

"I have an aerial view of the situation," said Sakura. "I will swear on my life that not a single person in this stadium will die today."

"Copy that," said the patrol leader. The line went dead.

"It's now or never," Sakura told herself. She took a deep breath, and pulled the trigger.

Her targeted bodyguard collapsed, blood seeping from his dead body.

Sakura ignored the shrieks of horror erupting from all around her. She needed to act quickly.

Throwing a smoke bomb to mask her descent, Sakura leapt from her perch, landing lightly on the hazy ground. The remaining guard didn't stand a chance in the smoke. Sakura located her prey and pounced, snapping his neck. The guard went down without a sound.

"So Tsunade sent a Leaf Village ninja after me?" said Kabuto. Sakura spun, searching furiously for the source of his voice.

The smoke cleared, revealing Kabuto standing behind Sakura, a kunai held to her throat. "Shame it had to be you; I was hoping for a challenge."

"What are you waiting for?" demanded Hawk. "Kill her! Then find the boys!"

Kabuto's eyes narrowed and he threw Sakura to the ground, burying his kunai into the substitution. "I will deal with this girl my way," he told Hawk. "Understood?"

Hawk gulped. "Yes sir!"

"Go find your precious boy band," Kabuto ordered. Hawk scrambled to obey, racing off to where Sakura knew more guards were searching for the boys.

"Come on out, Haruno!" shouted Kabuto. "We both know I hate having my time wasted."

Sakura descended from the sky, a shadow on the sun. Kabuto leapt aside as Sakura's chakra-infused fist made contact with the ground. The blast threw him into the wall, leaving a crater where he landed.

"You need to learn how to hold still," Sakura warned.

"I'll keep that in mind," said Kabuto, pulling himself out of the wall. He brushed rubble off his shoulders while regarding her with a heightened degree of interest. "It would appear the cherry blossom has a bite after all."

The two ninja circled each other, each sizing the other up.

"Why are you here, Kabuto?" demanded Sakura.

"You mean," said Kabuto, frowning, "You weren't sent here for me?"

"I was sent to protect Big Time Rush," Sakura snarled. "Now tell me why you're here."

"For the same reason as you, it would seem," said Kabuto. "Money."

"And now?" asked Sakura.

"Now?" echoed Kabuto, stopping in his tracks. "Now I'm going to kill you."

Sakura had been a ninja long enough for that threat to roll off her back like water. She stopped circling the rouge nin, sensing him gathering chakra.

"If that's how you want to do it," she consented, copying his hand signs. "Then so be it."

"Summoning Jutsu!"

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Logan

Logan was absolutely terrified.

Of course, that really wasn't doing him any favors at the moment. But given their current situation, he believed it justified.

He felt his terror magnify when he saw Gustavo, Kelly and their sound crew surrounded by three very big, very scary looking men with guns.

"I'll only ask this once," said the first one as Logan pulled James out of sight. "Where are the boys?"

"What boys?" Gustavo snapped back. "I've got some dogs, but YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM!"

"We gotta do something," James hissed.

Logan gulped. "Okay. We can knock two of them out before the third one notices, but the third one's still got a gun."

"I thought I made myself clear," Logan heard Gustavo bark. "YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM!"

James whipped his head around the corner. "Gustavo just knocked out one of the guards."

"Now?" asked Logan.

James nodded. "Now."

The two boys crept up behind the two remaining guards. Sending a silent thank you to his lucky stars that those in front of the guns remained quiet, Logan approached his guard and, remembering Sakura's training, knocked the guard out with a swift jab to a pressure point in his neck.

"Well it's about time!" said Gustavo.

James ignored him in favor of tying up his guard with a purple bandana.

"You didn't knock him out?" Logan observed.

"I disarmed him," said James. "We need to find a way out of here."

"But Sakura said-,"

"Hey," said James. "We're getting out of here whether Sakura says so or not."

"What did Sakura say?" asked a bewildered Kelley. "And what's going on?"

"Hawk's here to kidnap us," said James. "Isn't that right?" he asked the guard.

"Yeah," said the guard. "So you'd best come along quietly."

James brought him to his knees with a kick to the clavicle. "No personal opinions," he ordered. "Only answers. Understood?"

"James…"Gustavo said in amazement.

"There has to be another way," said Kelly. "James, lay off-,"

"Kelly, please," said Logan. "We know what we're doing."

Logan lowered himself to their prisoner's eye level. "How do we get out of here?"

"You can't," the guard said maliciously. "The jutsu's designed to be broken only by the casters."

"Who are outside the barrier," James guessed. "Wonderful."

"Who's the guy with the glasses?" Logan tried. "Isn't he the caster?"

"Bloody hell if I know," said the guard. "I just do what Mister Hawk tells me to. Kabuto's a dangerous bloke; I'd rather quit than question him."

"What, you mean we're stuck here?" demanded Gustavo. "With that maniac?"

"Sakura's taking care of it," Logan assured Gustavo.

"We have to stop her!" said Kelly, looking horrified. "She's a kid and that's, like Gustavo says, a maniac! And when did you two get scary?"

"Since Sakura, our bodyguard, taught us how to defend ourselves," said James. Using the same technique as Logan, James jabbed his fingers into a point on the guard's neck and the man crumpled, out cold. "In case anything like this ever happened."

Just then the group felt the earth shake. Running to the window, Logan saw an enormous purple snake materialize into existence along with a white and blue slug of the same size.

James slapped a hand over Kelly's mouth, silencing a scream. "Quiet! We don't know if there are any others looking for us!"

"B-b-b-but-," Gustavo stammered.

"Do you want the short explanation now?" asked Logan. "Or the long explanation later?"

"That is, if we make it out of this alive," James said darkly.

"Let's hear the short one," Gustavo said in a small voice.

"Sakura's a ninja sent from Japan," said James. "She let herself get kidnapped by Griffin because she was sent here on a mission to protect us."

"She is currently standing atop that giant slug," said Logan. "The guy she's fighting, the glasses dude on the giant snake, is another ninja."

"And she's been teaching us self-defense ever since she staged Kendall's kidnapping," James finished.

Logan expected Gustavo to blow his cap. What he didn't expect was for him to yell, "Duck!" and tackle George Hawk creeping up behind them, gun in hand.

"Thanks Gustavo," said Logan. He could have kicked himself for not sensing Hawk creeping up behind them. Fortunately, Gustavo had seen the danger and knocked Hawk to the ground, his gun skittering underneath the popcorn stand.

"Why are you here?" Gustavo demanded, shaking Hawk with every word.

"For Big Time Rush," Hawk spat. "Why else?" He kicked Gustavo away and dove for the gun.

"Stop him!" Logan warned. He was too late. Hawk straightened, the gun pointed at Logan's chest.

"Now then," he said with an air of restoring himself to calm. "Where are Kendall and Carlos?"

"Thankfully not here," said Logan.

"Shame," said Hawk. Then, without warning, he shot Kelly in the leg.

Kelly screamed in pain.

"Kelly!" cried Gustavo.

"You'll pay for that, you bastard!" shouted James. Logan rushed to Kelly's side. Blood pooled on the ground around her, but she was thankfully still awake.

"You're gonna be okay, Kelly," Logan assured her, ripping off his shirtsleeve to bandage her leg.

"Here's what's going to happen," said Hawk, advancing slowly. "We'll wait here until Kabuto has finished with the girl. Then, James, Logan and I will leave the stadium to look for Kendall and Carlos. We aren't to be followed. Understood?"

Gustavo balled his fists. "You aren't going anywhere with them. I THOUGHT I MADE THAT CLEAR!"

"Shame," Hawk repeated, pointing his gun at Gustavo. "I did hope to save my bullets."

At that moment, Logan saw four bodies come crashing through the window. Two with…um, interesting choices in both fashion and hair, and Carlos and Kendall on their backs. The black-haired one in the kata approached Hawk.

"Wh-who are y-you?" Hawk stuttered, gun shaking in his hands. "Kabuto said the barrier was unbreakable! Stay back or I'll shoot!"

"That's enough of that," the boy said in a smooth, cold accent. His back was turned to Logan, but Logan could still feel the dangerous aura emanating from this boy. Hawk must've felt it too, for he screamed and crumpled to the floor, unconscious.

"Guys!" said Carlos, finally managing to untangle himself from the black-haired boy's back. "You're alive!"

"No time, Carlos," said James. "Hawk shot Kelly."

The other one, the blonde-haired one with whiskers on his face, let Kendall off his back gently, and knelt next to Kelly. "Americans," he scoffed. "These guns you use are so lazy."

"Can you help her?" Kendall asked the blonde boy.

"That's Sakura's area of expertise," the blonde boy answered.

"We need to go and help her," said the dark-haired one, turning to face them. Another crash shook the building, almost as if agreeing with him.

Logan took Kelly's hand in his. She'd given up speaking already in favor of focusing on her breathing.

"It's going to be okay," he assured her again. "We'll get you out of this."

"Gahh!" Gustavo shrieked, pointing at a blue and white creature inching its way towards them. "Slug!"

The two strangers didn't seem perturbed; rather, they seemed relieved at the slug's presence.

"Katsuyu," the blonde greeted. "This woman's been shot. Can you help her?"

To Logan, James and everyone but Kendall, Carlos and the two newcomers' surprise, the slug came to a halt, and addressed the blonde. "That's why I'm here, Naruto. It is good to see you again."

Logan watched the slug crawl up to a now very pale Kelly, and onto her leg. The slug latched onto the gunshot wound and Kelly's leg began to glow the same green as when Sakura performed her medical ninjutsu.

Now it was the blonde, Naruto's turn to assure her. "It's all right, miss, Katsuyu's a healer."

"Now wait just a moment-," started Gustavo, only for Kendall to stop him.

"Gustavo, please," said Kendall, obviously fighting to stay conscious himself. "Katsuyu's Sakura's summoning. She knows what she's doing."

"Katsuyu, heal him when you're done," said the black-haired one.

"Sasuke," said a very serious Carlos, pointing out the window to the battle taking place in the arena itself. Logan saw the snake dodge what first appeared to be projectile vomit, but quickly burned through section 2B of the stadium like acid.

"She'll be fine for another minute, Carlos," said Naruto. "There's a reason they call her the Slug Princess."

"Slug…Princess?" Gustavo asked in a faint voice.

"Gustavo, now really isn't the time," said Logan. "Katsuyu, is that your name?" he asked the slug.

"Well, yes," the slug said politely. "Though I am merely a portion of myself. My true form is out there, battling Manda."

"We should give Gamakichi and Aoda a call," Naruto told Sasuke.

"We'll destroy the stadium and everyone in it," Sasuke countered.

"Can we skip the destroy the stadium part?" piped up Logan.

Katsuyu winced. "Kabuto has gained the upper hand."

Sure enough, Logan saw the purple snake wrapped around big Katsuyu's body, squeezing the slug like a stress ball. If he squinted, he could see Sakura on Katsuyu's head, panting hard.

"She's been fighting for over an hour now," said Logan. "She's probably running low on chakra."

"Somehow I doubt that. But still, Carlos," said Sasuke, addressing Carlos. "Can you and your two friends keep Kendall and the others safe from the battle and that guy?" he asked, jabbing a finger at Hawk, still writhing in pain. "He's still under my Sharingan for now, but it doesn't last forever."

"We'll be fine," Carlos assured him. "Now go help Sakura!"

"You heard him, Sasuke," said Naruto. "Let's go!"

"Right!" said Sasuke. With that, the two leapt through the window, landing lightly on either side of Sakura.

"Carlos," said Logan as he helped Kendall into a seated position. "Who are those people?"

"And how did you get in?" asked James. "That barrier's supposed to be impenetrable."

"That's the thing," said Carlos. "It's not real."

"It's a genjutsu," Kendall said faintly. "An illusion."

"So we can leave?" said Gustavo.

"Yes," said Carlos. "But we're not leaving without Sakura."

"Gustavo, I need you to call an ambulance for Kelly," Logan told their manager. "Then you and the sound crew need to get Hawk to the police."

"What are you going to do?" demanded Gustavo.

"We're going to make sure there aren't any more guards lurking around here," said Carlos.

"Kendall…" Kelly groaned.

Kendall himself looked on the verge of a relapse. However, he shook his head, saying "I'm the only one out of all of us who knows anything about sensory jutsu; I'm staying here."

Gustavo gulped. "Just don't die."

"Gustavo," said Kendall, "If we don't make it out of here, can you tell my mom…?"

Gustavo took one look at Kendall, pale and sweaty, and his stone heart chipped. He and a sound technician helped Kelly to her feet. "Yeah, kid. I will."

Sakura

"If you'd just let me kill you, Haruno," called Kabuto. "This would be a lot easier!"

Sakura was exhausted and almost at the end of her rope, but there was no way in hell she'd ever tell him that.

"Katsuyu, split!" she ordered when Manda wrapped himself around her friend.

"Yes, my lady," said Katsuyu, dispersing into her fragments to search for other hostages.

Sakura leapt onto Manda's head to face Kabuto. "Stop stalling and fight!"

"Summoning Jutsu!"

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Sakura could have cried for joy if she didn't already know that she would never give them that satisfaction.

"Good advice," said Sasuke Uchiha.

"Mind if we help?" said Naruto Uzumaki.

Kabuto took advantage of her distraction to send her flying off his snake. Thankfully, Katsuyu had grown back to her normal size and caught her easily.

"I'd rather not deal with the Sanin Deadlock right now," Kabuto said calmly. "We'll fight again someday, but for now, enjoy your victory, Haruno."

With that, Kabuto made a hand sign and both he and Manda disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Even from fifty feet in the air atop a giant slug, Sakura could still hear the boys' shriek of alarm. She chuckled.

"You're dismissed!" the three ninja said together. At once, Katsuyu, Gamakichi and Aoda disappeared back to the spirit world.

Without a word, the three returned to where four, world famous pop star teens were waiting.

"Sakura…" started Sasuke.

Sakura was so relieved that she ignored Kendall, James, Logan, Carlos and Naruto watching them, and pulled Sasuke into a fierce kiss.

"Those two?" James cried while Carlos patted him on the back.

"Umm, Sakura?" Naruto said meekly. "I'm here too."

Sakura broke off from Sasuke's lips and punched both of them into the wall. "IT'S ABOUT GODDAMN TIME YOU TWO SHOWED UP!"

"Sakura!" shouted Logan, breaking her from her path of revenge. "Kendall's relapsing!"

Everyone aborted his or her actions to circle around Kendall. Kendall lay sprawled on the ground, twitching and groaning.

"Sakura-," started Naruto.

"You can wait," she told him, beginning the process of moving his broken ribs back into place and reducing the swelling in his head with her chakra.

A few tense moments later she felt satisfied enough to stop and stood, stretching. "He'll be fine now."

"Way to go, Sakura!" Naruto cheered.

Sasuke put an arm around her waist. "Good job," he murmured in her ear.

She grabbed Naruto and embraced her team for the first time in months.

"I missed you guys."

Sakura: That's because Kabuto's a chicken.

James: Question!

Willoffire123: Yes?

James: What's a Sanjin Deadlock?

Willoffire123: Sanin Deadlock.

Sasuke: The most powerful attack you've ever seen, you stupid American.

Naruto: We all summon giant spirits!

James:…the Japanese are weird.

Logan: What was your first fucking clue?
