Welcome back to Shenanigans! Sorry I haven't updated in a long while! Wargh! Anyway, this chapter was inspired by the prompt below, from the otpprompts tumblr. Thanks tumblr!

Person A and Person B are two officers forced to work together and both have work ethics that are polar opposites. Person A uses unconventional methods to take down the bad guys while Person B follows by the rules. Will a relationship blossom as the time passes or will they still stay in the bickering stage?

Yeah, guess who's who, haha. Anyway, please enjoy!

"Hands up!" she shouted, her gun drawn and stance strong. "I said hands up, asshole!"

The aforementioned asshole slowly bent his hands up, hesitating only slightly. He was clearly debating whether or not to make a run for it.

"Don't. Even. Think about it." Officer Amai Nagori warned, narrowing her eyes and taking a few steps forward.

But the man had clearly thought about it and had decided to scamper. Amai shouted after him, holstering her weapon and sprinting down the empty sidewalk. It was near to 3 am and the streets of Shino City were close to barren, a fact that criminals were well aware of. As crime rates rose, so too did the amount of work hours for officers like Amai.

Before Amai could tackle the man herself, a shadow leapt down from out of nowhere and landed not-quite gracefully on the criminal. Amai skidded to a halt in front of the two now-tussling men.

"Fuck dammit, Kazetsukai!" Amai shouted and stomped her foot. "I told you to wait in the car!"

Grunting, the uniformed man replied, "Looked like ye needed help!"

Amai grumbled as she retrieved her handcuffs and stepped over the struggling criminal. Shoving Kazetsukai aside, she deftly cuffed the felon and turned her angry gaze on the grinning cop beside her. Amai shoved his shoulder again as she stood up.

"I don't need help catching third-rate thieves." Amai retorted.

"Hey, fuck you, lady." the criminal replied.

Before Amai could summon a venomous reply, Kazetsukai's foot lashed out, catching the man squarely in the jaw. Amai inhaled sharply but didn't say anything.

"You should show some respect, doncha think?" Kazetsuki glowered, his face uncharacteristically stern.

After a moment's pause, Amai sighed and grabbed the criminal's elbow to assist him into a standing position. Kazetsukai stood as well, still glaring at the man whose nose was now bleeding. Amai wasn't sure if she should be flattered or insulted. She was technically his superior but he was constantly doing things like this. Amai's sigh spoke volumes. She'd have to write him up for this, just like she'd had to write him up for getting into a violent, verbal diatribe with a jaywalker.

Amai shoved the man forward some, beginning the trek back to their cop car.

"Listen, Kazetsuki-"

"Jin."

Amai threw a look over her shoulder. Kazetsuki was walking a few feet behind the felon, casually keeping an eye out. His face seemed carefully straight.

"Kazetsuki."

"Jin."

"Officer Kazetsuki."

"Officer Amai."

"Actually, it's Officer Nagori."

"Hello Officer Nagori, my name's Jin. Nice to meet ya."

The apprehended criminal spoke as Amai rolled her eyes: "Get a room."

Amai nearly tripped over her boots. She shot Kazetsuki a very dirty glance and tugged the felon along. What was all that? Amai would have whacked Jin- No, Kazetsuki!- if they weren't on duty. Oh, if only they weren't on duty.

"We're on duty, Kazetsuki." Amai reminded him testily, leaning forward to open the back door to the cruiser.

Scratching the back of his head, Kazetsuki seemed perplexed. "Well, Ah heard the others usin' each other's first names. Thought t'would be nice if we did that too."

"Yeah? Like who?" Amai pushed the thug's head down and shoved him into the vehicle.

"Urameshi and Kuwabara!" Kazetsuki pointed his finger victoriously at his superior. "They do!"

Slamming the door shut, Amai sighed. "Kazetsuki. Those are their last names. And they are certainly not officers. Just because they spend more time at the precinct than we do, does not mean they're officers."

"Oh." Kazetsuki seemed stumped by this. "Still. Ah think Amai suits ye best."

Amai didn't answer. She simply walked to the driver's side and got in the car. Buckling up, she heard Kazetsuki do the same. She turned on the car, hand on the shift, and turned to Kazetsuki. He had just cleared his throat. Amai said nothing and Kazetsuki began to flush ever so slightly (which in turn made Amai blush ever so slightly).

"Er," he began before clearing his throat again and speaking more confidently. "Amai Nagori."

The car continued to rumble as Amai stared blankly at him. "That's me." she agreed.

He laughed. "If ye call me Jin and I can call ye Amai, I'll buy you a donut."

"Deal." Amai shifted the car into drive and turned on her blinker, pulling into traffic. "Jin."

"Good deal." Jin nodded. "Amai."

Amai frowned, causing Jin to look concerned. He leaned forward to search her face. "What's wrong?"

"Two donuts." Amai amended. "Every week."

"Wha-at?" Jin groaned, sinking back in his seat. "Ye know Ah'm not made of money, doncha?"

"Two donuts, Jin."

Jin smiled into the side mirror. "Ye got me. Two donuts a week. Amai."

In the back of the car, the criminal grimaced and rolled his eyes.
