A/N; I am back from a very long break? If that is what you call it. I apologize for the very long wait. But I've been so busy with work and family. Had the misfortune of ending up with the worst case of the flu I have ever had, been in bed for nearly a week and needed another week just to get my strenght back.
The recovery period is the worst, you would think that being sick is the pain...It is not. it is the week after being sick, that really sucks. Don't let anyone fool you, my doctor said the fever is down you will be up and about in no time...he forgot to mention anything else I might need to know.
My complaints of life in general aside, here is the next chapter and a very long one at that. I wanted to make up for being gone so long, so the chapter kind of run on its own and took me for the ride.
If you find it too long please say so, I will cut in half and post in two different chapters.
There is one thing I want to share with you and that is Reyna's surname, which was revealed in HoH a book that came out long after I started this story.
Though I will brag and say I was this close in getting her name right...part of her name right. I think it was chapter four in which I had used Martinez as Reyna's surname and that is obviously not true, so from this point on her surname will be Ramirez-Arellano.
I will also use some elements of the fourth book in the later chapters, other than that there is not much you need to know...You don't need to read the book to understand what I? or is it the characters? Are talking about.
I think that was all? So let's continue with the reviews, shall we? I wanted to thank each and everyone off you.
Dee3; I am sorry... I didn't mean to take this long to update this chapter. But with work, family and ending up in bed with a bad case of the flu for two weeks straight does that to you.
But enough about me; How are your College Apps, going? You were going to be busy till December right? I hope all goes well and good luck with your finals, hope this chapter helps you get through them.
On to the review reply, I am glad you managed to catch what I meant to say with Piper's inner monologue and the difference between the two of them being compared to their mothers.
I will come to Reyna's own feelings under so much pressure and how she had dealt with it in the past and how she is dealing with it now.
I am glad you like her friends, as I have a lot planned for the three off them. I am guessing you are wondering why if they care so much for her, are they hiding her past and lying to her about it. All in due time, I will reveal that in the upcoming chapters.
I am glad you like Lucy as she embodies all the mistakes the Gods continue to make, Lucy holds a lot of anger and all that anger needs to go somewhere and she uses it to fuel her desire to destroy Godly parent.
The Romans are up in the next chapter, so I hope you can wait one more chapter. So you will be able to meet William and find more about him, and who is to Reyna and how he feels about her 'death'
MissBlueSunglasses; I am glad you enjoyed the chapter and liked Travis, he is someone who is total opposite of Luke and Lucy who both joined the Gods, because they were mistreated and felt unappreciated and abandoned.
Travis joined Porphyion for an whole different reason, something that reveal itself in the upcoming chapters. About Bellona appearing at Reyna's bed side, I wanted to show that despite the whole Goddess of War and destruction, that she cares about her children.
Cupcakes; I am glad you liked the chapter, I am sorry if it is a little slow and the building. But I assure you it is really necessary.
There is a part of her that tries to remember, that knows something is wrong and isn't right. But the bigger part, the stronger part of her conscious says don't remember and leave it to be buried, something that she experienced in the previous chapter.
She is fighting herself...A part of her refuses to sit still and not know what is going on, the other part wants nothing to do with it, something that is showing itself subtly but it is defiantly there.
She will start to remember, she is stuck with people that know her and this chapter is the first chapter, on that road to recalling her memories.
So I hope that you can wait a little bit longer, the last thing I want is rushing things as this is something that needs to take a little time.
Guest 20/10/13; Thank you for the review and the kind words, I am glad I managed to keep everyone in character as that is honestly the hardest part of this story. The characters are all experiencing things that don't happen in the canon world and don't know how they will react, so I have to go with what I already know.
Don't worry Reyna will start to remember, and this chapter marks the begin. It is in Jason's POV but none the less, this chapter marks the start of recovering her memories.
RXR4Ever; Thank you for the review and don't worry about your English, I always understand what you are trying to say, so don't be afraid or shy to just share it with me. I really want to know what you are thinking.
I know what you mean with some stories portraying Reyna as a spiteful monster, I came across a few off them and I myself wondering have we read the same books? So I am glad that you thought that Piper a character I personally don't like much, was realistic and still in character.
I know you said that the last chapter wasn't too long, but I am afraid that this one will hurt your eyes...It is the longest chapter so far.
Livie/Celeste/ Scarlet-mistress; I wanted to thank you all for the kind reviews, I am glad to hear that you all thought that Piper was in character and that I kept her real to the books.
It has been three days since he had found out that Reyna was alive and well. Three days since they had left the Amazon Campus behind and started their journey towards Camp Half-Blood.
That were three days of constantly being attacked by monsters and fighting for their lives. Three days filled with running from one place to another and never staying at one spot to long.
That was the bright spot in an otherwise bleak journey.
Doing exactly as Reyna had said they had taken a detour and instead of going straight through Montana, they went south and were currently in Oregon staying in an Inn/motel in the Capital City Salem.
Following Annabeth's suggestion the six Demigods had decided to rent one room for the night and not risk being separated in case of an attack, it would be both dangerous and troublesome not knowing where everyone was and if they were okay or not.
Especially if you took in account that they were on an time limit, both Annabeth and Reyna had agreed to not split up unless it was absolutely necessary.
So, that was why the group found themselves bunking in a two bedroom motel room, sleeping arrangements were made quite easily.
With Reyna passing on spending the night on the bed and Annabeth sharing her bed with Percy, Piper was given the last bed.
Leaving one couch and one loveseat open for the taking, with Leo taking ownership off the couch by stating he deserved to stretch his legs, left the loveseat for both Jason and Reyna.
Well that was the plan...Somewhere along the night, Piper decided to give the bed to Reyna and share the loveseat with Jason instead.
Though... Reyna had yet to take place on the bed, as she hadn't moved from her spot since they had entered the room.
Jason's blue eyes fell on the dark haired woman gazing out the window and into the dark night, wondering what she was thinking about.
She had opted to take place on the windowsill as opposed to the comfortable bed or couches. She had also decided against joining them for dinner and had eaten hers alone and away from them.
It seemed like that aspect of her character stayed the same, Reyna was still someone who disliked mingling with strangers and like always she preferred solitude over company.
Though unlike in the past...unlike four years ago, Jason could not approach her. Could not just take her hand and force her to join everyone and just enjoy the company of others.
It was Hell.
That was what the past three days had felt like, and the Son of Jupiter knew that that he couldn't keep this up much longer, there was no way he could keep pretending and behave like he had just met her.
Pretending that he couldn't read her expressions better than an open book, acting like he didn't know her better than she knew herself. And not giving in to his need to approach her, was proving itself to be the hardest thing, Jason had done in his live.
Because that was what he wanted.
There was nothing Jason wanted more than just approach her and give into the need to touch her, just to make sure that she was real and here, that she wasn't something his mind conjured up.
He wanted to talk to her and ask her so many questions, questions he wanted...No needed to hear the answer to.
Just what happened to her? How did she survive and how was it that she ended up, being with the Amazons?
How did she become their Queen? Especially if you took in account that, Reyna had never joined the Amazons prior to her...Prior to the war against Terra.
What happened to her SPQR mark? Why her mother went out of her way, and decided not to inform anyone of her daughter's survival?
Just what happened that day, that forced her to forget everything about Camp Jupiter? Why from all the things that had happened to her, was it the one place that became her home, that she forgot?
Just how much of her memories was gone? Why, if she remembered everything up until Circe's Island, did she forget about the two Greyhounds?
Then there were the questions, Reyna didn't have the answers to. The questions he was certain, her Second in Command held the answers to.
Why was she and the rest of the Amazons so hell bend on preventing Reyna from remembering her past? Why, if they knew who Reyna was, did they decide to hide this fact from the Roman Camp?
What where they planning? What made them, choose a total stranger as their Queen? There had to be something at play here, something that made an entire clan lie to a person and crown her as their Queen.
Just what were they planning?
The Son of Jupiter rested his head against the headrest of the loveseat he was sitting on, his blue eyes shifting towards the dark ceiling.
You have one chance...This is your only chance. When you reach Camp Half-Blood, you won't be able to get her alone.
That was true...If the scene the Second Commander had caused was anything go by. Getting Reyna alone with her around, would be an near impossible task.
The fiery redhead didn't like him...She had made it clear that she didn't trust him. Jason sighed closing his eyes, should he approach her?
What did it matter that she didn't know him? What did it matter that there was a chance that he couldn't get the old Reyna back.
What mattered was that she was alive and well, she was healthy and safe.
Electric blue eyes opened facing the dark ceiling again, it didn't matter how much her lack of memory hurt him...He had gotten his wish...A chance to apologize...One more chance to see her, to talk to her.
Would he really waste it? Could he really do as they asked? Live for the rest of his life, with the knowledge that she was alive and well, but that he had never taken the chance to talk to her?
Get to know her again?
Jason sighed closing his eyes again, all the while knowing that he couldn't do it...He would live in regret for the rest of his life, how long or how short that may be.
There was no way he could let this chance pass...He could not allow himself to lose the last and most probably only chance he had to spend some time with her.
He had missed her too much. He had wished too long for a second chance. He had dreamed none stop of the possibility that she may be alive somewhere.
Jason gently moved Piper's head from his shoulder and eased himself off the couch, he placed her head on the cushions making sure that she was lying comfortably before he released her head.
...
...
Taking a deep breath Jason decided that it was now or never, the blond Son of Jupiter stepped away from the loveseat and moved towards the woman that has been haunting his dreams and his every waking hour.
Despite the anxiety he felt, Jason couldn't stop the smile from lifting his lips. It was another time and another place, it was very different than the first time he approached her.
It was so different and yet exactly the same, as seven years ago. Only this time, there was no Dakota telling him that approaching a girl like Reyna was asking for trouble.
Everything else was the same.
He was approaching a woman who hated men, who believed that Son's of Jupiter were the worst. She had hated him more than she hated any other male, simply because he was his father's son.
No one, no one has ever hated him because of his father. If anything everyone seemed to be falling over themselves to please him, maybe that was why he had been so hell bend on befriending her.
Maybe that was why he fell...No, don't go there, you have no right to think like that. You don't deserve to think about that.
Jason pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and focused on the two Automatons sleeping on the ground, near her feet.
He smiled realizing once again that the two of them had missed her just as much, ever since they had found out their master was alive and well, the two had decided to never venture to far from her side.
If Reyna had found it odd that the two Automatons that had showed so much hostility to everyone had taken a liking to her, she didn't show it.
As if sensing his approach, Reyna's dark eyes shifted their gaze towards the Son of Jupiter. The Amazon Queen followed his every move, tilting her eyebrow when she noticed that he was taking place on the ground next to her leg.
The dark haired woman sighed, her dark eyes shifting back to the window and once again gazing out in to the dark. "Shouldn't you be asleep?"
Jason rested his head against the wall under the window, his blue eyes falling on the seated on woman, a small grin lifting his lips. "I can ask you the same thing, shouldn't you?"
"Unlike you and your friends, I don't need much sleep." Was all the reply the child of the War Goddess gave him. "I assume you came here, with a purpose?"
It was the sheer Reyna like question that drew the laugh out of him, the sudden sound startled the dark haired woman and pulled her eyes back on his person, the soft frown on her face indicated that she was confused by his reaction.
Jason smothered the sound before it managed to wake his friends, his blue eyes darting towards the other side of the room and finding them sound asleep. "I am sorry...But you should be careful, I could have been very offended by that."
"Why won't you try saying that, without laughing first?" The Amazon Queen replied resting her head against the cool glass. "And I might believe you, because you are not claiming that you don't want something? That you are not after something?"
"See...Why must you make it sound like something illicit? I just wanted to talk to you, get to know you?"
"Hmm...You are a lot smarter than I gave you credit, not a bad strategy." Reyna smirked when she noticed his confused frown. "Find out what makes her tick? Get close to her, so incase she plans to betray us, the familiarity will make it harder?"
"Anyone ever told you, you are paranoid?" Jason sighed resting his head back against the wall. "Try to give people the benefit of the doubt, will you. Not everyone who shows interest in you, is always after something."
"Isn't always? So, most of the time they are after something? I suppose that was meant, to ease any concerns I might or may not have?"
"There you are doing it again. Usually people want to know you, simply because they want to get to know you."
"I merely commented on what you said, maybe if you phrased your sentences better we wouldn't be having this problem." She shifted her gaze away from him and towards the window gazing out into the world lying outside their motel room. "Usually? So there are times, when they are after something."
"Geez...Normally. Normally people are not after something, if seeking connection with people is a bad thing. Well...Than sue as all and send us down to Hades."
"Hmm? And then he says I need to be more positive, at least I can honestly say I have never condemned someone to depths of the underworld."
Jason lips twitched a soft sigh escaping him. "You really only hear what you want to hear don't you?" He asked pulling his legs up and wrapping his arms around them.
"You should be careful, I could have been very offended by that." Reyna said as she repeated a sentence he had previously used against her and getting a small smile out of him.
"You are not claiming, that you don't have the habit to hear exactly what you want to hear, are you? That you don't filter what you hear?" Jason asked deciding to use what she had previously used against him.
The barest hint of a smile tugged at the corner of Reyna's mouth, her dark eyes shifted their gaze towards him. "Don't you think it is about time, for you retire for the night?"
"I'm not really tired...Is it alright, if I just sit here? I promise, you won't even notice, I am here."
The Amazon Queen sighed softly her dark eyes returning to their task of gazing out the window. "Do as you please."
He smiled knowing that she had ended their conversation there. The two of them slowly fell in an comfortable silence, Jason rested his head against the wall and enjoyed his time with her.
Their entire relationship had always been so simple, he could spend hours with her and not utter a word and still feel like he had the best time of his live.
He sighed closing his eyes and decided that this was one of the things he had missed most of her.
The simplicity.
...
...
Jason began to slowly open his eyes after a while, wondering just how much time had passed, his blue eyes fell on his friends finding them still sleeping soundly.
It was funny.
There had been a time he had envied the fact that they could get a night rest without being haunted by dreams, that they could manage to sleep while he had spend most of his time awake.
But now...He didn't mind being awake for most part of the night, he would manage to function in the morning...If anything, Jason didn't want this night to end...He just wanted to spend it like this.
Doing nothing but just sit...It was ironic, that the person that had caused most of if not all of his sleepless nights, was also the person that managed to give him the first peaceful night in three years.
It was Reyna's sudden movement that drew his attention on her person, he frowned when he noticed the concentrated look on her face, her dark eyes were still gazing out into the night but unlike previously she seemed to be searching for something.
"Is something-" Jason started but stopped when she lifted her hand and silenced him and closed her eyes and focused on her surroundings. "How many? And how close?"
Reyna didn't reply instead she opened the window and climbed onto the windowsill, her dark eyes scanning her surroundings. "Wake them up and continue eastwards, I will distract them."
Jason jumped up grabbing her arm feeling her tense up as he stopped her from actually leaping out of the window. "No...I...It is dangerous to go out there on your own, I am not letting you go out there on your own."
She turned around to face him her dark eyes fixing their gaze on his hand holding her arm, she lifted her gaze meeting his pleading blue eyes. "Unhand me." Reyna said her voice was soft but sharp as daggers and cold as ice.
"No."
It was only because she hadn't expected him to actually say that to her, that her eyes showed her surprise. "No? Did you just say, no?" She asked sounding both confused and taken aback. "Either, you let me go, or I will make you."
"I don't care...Because I won't let go, cut my hand off and I will still find way to hold on." Jason said not caring how desperate he sounded, he couldn't bear to have her out of his sight. not now that he had found her. "Please...Just come with us? There is no need for you to engage them...Just please?"
It must have been the pleading tone or the desperation in his eyes, because she sighed in defeat. "Let me go and you can follow me after you tell them to get out of here."
He nodded releasing her and watched her jump out the window and disappear into the night, it was only after he turned around and moved towards his friends, that he realized that she hadn't slapped his hand away like she had done the first time he had dared to touch her without her permission.
What did that mean? That she remembered his touch? No...She had tensed up when he had touched her, she hadn't relaxed at all...So why?
Jason sighed deciding to think about it later, he moved towards the bed and gently shook Percy awake. "Perce wake up, we have a problem."
The Son of the Sea God opened his eyes meeting his cousin even gaze, he frowned pulling himself in a upright position. "What is wrong? Are we under attack?" He shifted his gaze when he didn't hear anything that indicated on a battle.
"Not yet, Reyna went out to take care of it." Jason said shifting his gaze when he heard Annabeth move. "She said that you should continue to move eastward, we will catch up with you guys."
"What do mean she went to take care of it? Take care off what?" Percy asked pushed the covers away and swung his legs over the side of the bed. "Where did she go?"
"I don't know, I managed to convince...managed to force her in taking me with her." Jason sighed her blue eyes darting towards the open window. "I better get going, I am not really comfortable with leaving her to deal with whatever it is."
"How will you guys find us?" Annabeth asked as she pulled herself in an upright position and threw the covers aside. "We don't know where we are going, as we agreed to let Reyna decide our route."
"She will find you, trust me she has her way of tracking people." Jason said shifting his blue eyes to Piper and Leo who were starting to wake up. "Tell them the change in plans? Aurum and Argentum are coming with me, they are my only way off finding her."
Percy sighed standing up to pick his shirt of the ground, his green eyes shifted from his cousin to the window. "I don't know...I am not really comfortable with leaving you two the deal with it."
Jason smiled despite himself he stepped away from the bed and moved towards the open window. "You are worried about the wrong person, I pity whoever is facing her...As she will unleash her anger on whoever is out there, I did happen to piss her off."
"Already?"
"What do you mean already? I have you know, that the last time I had pissed her off right from the bat." Jason said not really doing a good job in defending his case, he whistled once. "Aurum, Argentum venire."
The two greyhounds leaped up and stood attention, waiting for whatever order he would give them. Their ruby eyes scanned the room when they realized that they couldn't smell their master.
"We are going after her, so no need to get all violent." Jason said debating whether to take the window or the door, he sighed when the two Automatons made that decision for him by leaping out the window. "Damn...We will catch up."
"Be careful, we will crash in the next best motel or road restaurant." Percy called after the blond jumping out the window. "Okay guys plans changed, we are moving out now."
...
...
A park.
That was where he had found her, in a park about a mile from their Motel.
The only reason Jason managed to find her was because Aurum had been kind enough to wait for him, Argentum on the other hand was long gone.
He found the silver Automaton kneeling next to his master, his ruby eyes fixed on someone or something just beyond the first trees of the small park.
Jason kept low to the ground as he moved towards her and made sure to avoid any branches that may give his position away, kneeling down as soon as he reached her and shifting his eyes in to the general direction she was looking in.
Finding a group of Laistrygonian Giants sharpening the spikes on their clubs, they were sitting around trashcan bonfire and were discussing how tasty some fresh Demigod meat would be, and that they couldn't wait for their brother to return with some good news.
"Damned, I hope the others managed to get away." Jason whispered softly placing his hand on Aurum and calming the metal Greyhound down. "What do you suggest we do? There have to be a dozen off them."
"Sixteen, there are sixteen of them and I took care of the brother." Reyna said her dark eyes taking her surroundings in before they landed on Jason. "We have bigger problems, they know about our route...They have been waiting here for days."
"What?" Jason hissed taking cover between the bushes and pulling Reyna with him. "What do you mean, they know our route?"
"Exactly that...I had my suspicions but this just proves it." Reyna mumbled softly as she pulled her knife out of the sheath strapped around her left thigh. "Go back and help your friends, they will be running into a trap."
"And leave you to deal, with a dozen giants?" Jason asked he sighed shaking his head and shifted his gaze towards the group of giants. "I told you, I am not leaving you behind."
"Why do you even care? It is not like I will be running away, I gave you my word I would protect your home, and I am planning to keep my word." Reyna said sounding both confused and annoyed at his persistence.
"I know...Still, I am not going anywhere." Jason said holding his ground against her and not planning to falter under her piercing look. "So, head or tails?"
"Tails." Reyna answered before she even realized that the word had left her mouth or her mind had processed that she had known what he had meant with the odd question. "I..." She frowned deciding not to think about it. "I'll go around and take the rear, make sure to keep their attention fixed on you."
Jason smiled probably a lot brighter than he should but he didn't care, she had known...She had understood his question...She had known what he had meant with those words. "Don't worry, I am quite good when it comes to being bait."
"Do I even want to know?" Reyna mumbled pulling her arm out of his grip and alerting Jason on the fact that he had been holding her arm without really realizing it. "Aurum, Argentum the two of you are going to circle around and take care of any stray Giants"
The two Greyhounds stood up and backed away before disappearing between the trees, Jason knew that they would be able to take care of anything that may come this way and they would do it silently.
"Thirty seconds...That is all I need, than you may do as you please." She turned around to move away but stopped to face him, her dark eyes narrowing as she gazed upon him. "Something tells me to make one thing clear, you shock me once...I get hit by a stray lightning bolt and I will kill you."
Jason's eyes widened in shock though it wasn't so much as the threat as it was the fact that she had went and said that. "Why...Why do you think, that will happen?"
"Don't know...Just that I needed to make it clear, do it and I-"
"Will throw you in Neptune's domain and give the son of Jupiter as a tribute to the God of the Sea?" Jason asked wondering if she would go with that or actually repeat her threat of seven years ago, repeat the desire she had to gut his heart out and feed it to the vultures.
"What do you see me as? There is no sense of suffering in that." She smirked darkly before she turned around. "No, I will take pleasure in gutting your heart out and feed it to the vultures, I will cut you in so many little pieces that your father will have trouble piecing you together, that is what I shall do with you."
He had to bite his lip to prevent himself from laughing both at the sheer sadism of her threat but mostly because she still remembered bits and pieces of their time together. "I am sorry, didn't mean to insult your masterful mind and creativity."
"Don't...Don't tempt me, to actually kill you." Reyna said before she disappeared between trees vanishing into the night.
...
...
Jason sighed shifting his gaze towards the group of Giants, knowing that the only reason they didn't notice them was because they had been down wind, an advantage Reyna wouldn't have as soon as she got in position.
She had gotten stronger, if she had managed to sense their weapons all the way from their motel, Reyna had gained a substantial increase in power. She had never been able to sense any weapons outside a half mile radius and now...Reyna had sensed them a mile away.
Just how strong had she gotten? As if she hadn't been scary without this revelation, she had went on and decided to become even stronger.
What else did he expect?
She had never been the type who was satisfied with her current strength, Reyna always wanted to get stronger...Needed to get stronger, she had to get stronger.
The stronger she was...The harder it was to beat her. The harder she was to beat...The more she could protect.
It was deep rooted believe...It was what had forced to train every night and in every second she could spare.
It had taken him months to get her off that rigorous schedule and tell her to relax, that resting was just as much training as beating herself to death.
He sighed his mind continued to count down from thirty to one before he leaped out of his hiding place and alerting dozen something Giants of his presence. "Here goes nothing."
"Demigod!" One screamed sounding awfully delighted, he jumped up grabbing his club from the ground and slammed it back down on the ground. "Food...Our food just presented itself to B.G"
Jason unsheathed his Gladius and prepared himself to be delved under the furious attack of a few dozen hungry Laistrygonian Giants. "There is a very good Chinese a few blocks west, or are you more of the Italian kitchen? Because I can swear I passed a Pizza Hut on my way here."
"I rather have some Demigod, roasted on a spit over an open fire." The biggest Giant said already licking his lips in anticipation. "Just thinking about it makes B.G's mouth water."
Jason pulled a face when he saw that the Giant wasn't kidding as big chunks of saliva dropped out of his mouth. "Yuck...Thanks, but I think I will pass."
"You were not our target, but you will do fine as dinner." B.G said licking his lips again and taking a step towards the God of the Sky's Son.
The Giants attacked before Jason could ask what they meant with that and who they were after. B.G being the one who reached him first and slammed his spiked club down on his head fully intending to take the blonds head right of his body.
Jason rolled to the side turning midway to the ground and sending a powerful gust of wind to the Giant lifting him off his feet and pushing him several feet back, he rolled over the ground and jumped back on his feet to face the rest of the Giants again.
Four Giants came down barreling straight at him, their clubs high above their heads screaming 'Hungry' and 'Food" their desire for food didn't alert them to the fact, that running straight at your enemy wasn't the best thing to do.
Something they realized a second too late.
Just moments before the four came barreling into him, Jason leaped into the air and twisted slightly slamming his sword down on one of the giants and instantly disintegrating him, he turned midair and managed to slash the second through the abdomen and instantly killing him.
Something that the two others didn't appreciate, as one of them turned around fully intended to slam him down to ground like a pesky little fly. "You pay, for that." He yelled swinging his spiked club towards the Son of Jupiter and smirking in delight as he believed he had him where he wanted him to be.
Jason pushed the air between himself and the club moving towards him, managing to push the club up and himself down towards the ground and thus avoiding an direct hit. "That was close." Jason said flipping backwards and landing on the ground.
"Kill him!" B.G screamed standing a few feet away and ordering the others to attack the blond male. "We don't have time to deal with him, kill him and we shall eat him."
He frowned why where they in an hurry? The fact that they had even sense of time was scary in and on itself, they usually just did what they wanted when they wanted. "In a hurry?"
"Die..." Another Giant screamed running towards him holding a metal pole and swinging it through the air. "Hungry...I am hungry."
"So am I, yet you don't hear me screaming for food every few seconds, do you?" Jason asked kicking his left leg out and sending a strong of gust of wind towards the Giant running towards him and shoving him back.
It was only because they were so loud that Jason knew that the two Giants of previously were charging at him from behind, he turned around and concentrated sending as much lightning through his sword as he could and swung it at the two approaching Giants.
So that was four down and another dozen still standing, he had to think of something...There was no way he could take them one at a time. He could use the wind only so many times to send them back and to actually summon a lightning storm strong enough to take them all out, was risky.
He had to use his own energy to conjure it, it wasn't like there was lightning lying around for him to use. That was why it was always easier for him to summon them, when there was a storm brewing.
He frowned thinking of a way to deal with them, all the time wondering where Reyna was. What was taking her so long? Where was she? Did she encounter others? Trouble? Jason asked himself becoming really worried about her.
He tried to push the worry to the back of his mind, stepping back as a few them lifted something that looked like flaming dodge balls?
Yep, those were defiantly flaming dodge balls. Who comes up with ideas like that? How does one come up, with an idea like that? How does it even cross one's mind?
Did one of them actually think; 'Hmm...I like dodge ball and I like Flame balls, and I can't choose what I like more." Insert a sigh here, and continue with ''Wouldn't it be cool if I didn't have to choose...If I could use both at the same time." A light bulb turns on and we finish with, "Oh, wait I can...How about I take a dodge ball and set it on fire? I have a fire ball and a dodge ball...Oh, yeah and I call it flaming dodge ball"
Jason sighed when he realized that, that was probably the most likely source of the flaming dodge ball.
The Son of Jupiter prepared himself to send the balls right back at their owners when he was distracted by something exploding somewhere behind the Giants.
Reyna.
Jason made a move towards the direction the sound came from but was forced to bolt out the way when a few dozen dodge balls and cannon balls were thrown his way.
He dived to his left flicking his hand and managing to redirect most of the danger away from himself, but was unable to blast them all away, as a few exploded next to him and send him flying into a tree nearly breaking his back and knocking all the wind out of him.
"You are staying here...It seems your little friend came across our little friends, we will be having a feast tonight."
Jason smirked pushing himself off the ground and brushed the blood from his cheek. "Don't underestimate her, many made that mistake and ended up at the wrong end of her blade."
B.G didn't seem to like what Jason was suggesting as he released a growl and charged him blindly.
But Jason was ready for him waiting till the last second to roll out of the way and letting the Giant barrel straight into the tree Jason had previously crashed against.
Before B.G could even process what had happened and what exactly went wrong in his not so master plan, Jason had already summoned the wind and used it to shove the Giant out of the clearing and straight into a small lake.
"Pesky little demigod food." A Giant hissed standing just behind Jason and lifting his club to bring it down on the annoying pest fully intended to kill him and make him pay, for making it so hard for them, to have something to eat.
"Shit." Jason hissed turning around and knowing that he didn't have time to summon the wind, he lifted his Gladius and hoped that it would hold long enough for him to send the Giant back and away from him.
"We know your little tricks." A blue haired Giant smirked as he appeared behind Jason, reaching out to grab the Demigod and squeeze the very life out of him. "Dinner is-" He started but he never got to finish his sentence as he disintegrated in the middle of bragging.
"Candy! No...You...Little...Pest."
Jason blinked his face twisting at the sheer notion that the ugliest of the bunch had been named Candy, what part of him was cute enough to be called Candy? Who named them? Why was it that all the Laistrygonian Giants had the weirdest names?
"Me? What did I do? I was here and blocking your attack, how would I have been able to kill Candy." Jason asked standing up and slamming his sword into the Giant as he was distracted by the loss of Candy.
He sighed shifting his gaze noticing for the first time, that there were counting B.G who was still crawling out of the Lake he had shoved him in, only six Giants left.
...
...
Jason clutched his sword wondering what had happened to the others, because he had only killed five of them and Candy was killed...
Reyna.
She was the only one he knew that possessed the freaky ability to move undetected in the heart of enemies forces, she had won more war games for the second cohort than anyone else.
It was years of training with her, it was years hating how she always managed to sneak up to him. That allowed Jason to sense her before she had showed herself and revealed her presence. "How long have you been here?"
"Hmm...Took you long enough."
Her soft voice seemed to be coming from somewhere above him, Jason shifted his gaze towards the trees decorating the park and found her sitting in a tree a few feet away. "And you, never once thought, help him?"
"You seemed to be doing a fine job on your own." The dark haired woman said jumping down from the branch she was sitting on and landing with a soft thud on the ground. "To answer your previous question, I have been here long enough."
"That doesn't really answer my question." Jason sighed shifting his gaze when he heard B.G approach them having a look of rage on his face. "What was that explosion, I heard?"
"Your concern is appreciated but unnecessary." Reyna said lifting her dagger in front of her and morphing the silver dagger into a silver double edged sword. "It was just that, an explosion."
"Figures...I should have known, you would have said, something like that." Jason mumbled facing B.G and his five remaining brothers/friends/followers. "And today's lucky number, is the number six."
Reyna didn't reply to his comment but kept her eyes fixed on her opponents, her mind working through all the possibilities and trying to decide the best course of action to take.
"So? each take three?" Jason asked switching from English to Latin."Or attack simultaneously and taking them out one by one?"
"Hmmm...Taking them one by one, will take time. Time we don't have, we will take each three and we will assist each other if there is a need." Reyna said clutching her sword deciding that it was the best way to go in their current situation.
"Fine...The three to the left are yours, I will take the other three." Jason said not particularly happy about their current dilemma. "Seems I am stuck with B.G again, if this isn't therapy worthy I don't know what is."
She smirked lifting her sword and preparing herself to attack, her dark eyes flashed in anticipation of the upcoming battle. "Well...If anything, it will proof itself to be very interesting. "
Jason sighed smiling despite himself as he realized that he was having fun...That he was the happiest he had been in three years.
He had missed fighting her and with her...Had missed spending time with her...He had missed her...He had missed his friend...Had missed her dearly.
Standing now beside her as they prepared for battle, made him realize just how much.
A/N; That is the end of a very long chapter and I have mixed feelings over this one, at one end I think it is good and the other end I believe I could have done more in this chapter.
Still I hope the chapter was to your liking and that you all enjoyed it. Do, give me your thoughts about the chapter and what you think I can do better or even what I need to keep up.
I will keep this short and will end my AN here, I will see you all in the next chapter which won't be that long away...So till then.
