*Nightingale*

In this story, be prepared to have your first impression twisted to the point where you have no idea what to expect from these characters. I am not very good at fight scenes so please be patient with me. This story is based off of the song Nightingale by Demi Lovato (Check it out! I love this song!). Enjoy!

*At the Uchiha Mansion*

Normal POV

Awkward. That's the only word to describe the aura in the living room of the main Uchiha residence. Why you ask? Surely it's not because the youngest emotionally constipated Uchiha and the boisterous blonde were having a stare down with a smirking foreign prince with his arm slung lazily around his uncomfortable younger sisters shoulder all the while the Uchiha matriarch was trying desperately to think of some way to end this awkward predicament. That would be ridiculous.

"Sasu-chan, Naru-chan," Mikoto called out to the boys attempting to move their attention off of the instigating prince. However, the only response she received was an inaudible grunt from her youngest son. A frown marred her features at their obvious display of ignoring her, so she tried again. "Sasu-chan, Naru-chan, if you too continue to ignore me I will be forced to gain you attention in a more unpleasant manor." That got their attention away from Kotetsu (who know modeled a smug smirk) and to the annoyed matriarch sending daggers their way.

"Okaa-san, what are these strangers doing here?" Sasuke asked in a clipped tone showing his trouble restraining himself from attacking the prince. Mikoto glanced at the prince beside her as he sent Sasuke a tainting wink causing her son to tense and shake slightly with rage. 'Kami help me…' she sighed before turning her attention to Sasuke.

"They are Prince Kotetsu and Princess Sakura from a distant kingdom that has formed an alliance with the Leaf Village two days ago. Lady Hokage has entrusted our clan to their protection while they are here under complex circumstances. In short, there will be no fighting from either of you three." She sent all three of the pig headed boys a cold glare promising torture if they disobeyed her order. In response, all three scoffed turning their heads away and glaring at nothing in defeat. A smile graced the Matriarchs lips as she clasped her hands together in contempt. "Now that we all have an understanding, I think it is necessary to say that Sakura-chan will be attending the Jonin exams along with you two in a couple months to insure good graces between the two nations." Sasuke's jaw tightened as his dark eyes scanned over the petit pinkette with scrutiny. She felt his eyes on her and flinched back the slightest when she felt the cold intent in those eyes.

"Looking for something Uchiha?" Kotetsu barked out pulling his sister closer to his body and glaring at the young Uchiha threatening his beloved younger sister. Sasuke scoffed before he stood and walked away not even sparing the two royals a second glance while he made his way up the stairs. No more than a minute later a loud slam was heard from up the stairs. Mikoto let out a sigh as Sakura lowered her head the slightest while her brother silently seethed next her.

"Well," Mikoto started as she rose. "That went better than expected." She went to make her way to the stairs when Naruto's voice stopped her.

"You have the spirit of one of the nine great demons in you too, don't you?" His voice was so abnormally serious that even Kotetsu was slightly unease by it.

"Not exactly, Naruto-san." The pinkette responded softly turning her gaze up to the boy sitting across from her. When confusion showed on his face, Sakura sighed preparing to explain further. "I, myself, am the tenth great demon known as Chikyu. From my understanding, the people in your lands with the great demons within them were not born with them but are containers for them. I, on the other hand, am alive because of Chikyu spirit." Naruto nodded in understanding leaning back into the couch.

"So you were born with some kind of birth defect or something?" He asked dumbly. Sakura sweat dropped prepared to politely explain in further detail, but her much less polite brother beat her to the punch.

"No you idiot. My sister was literally born without a pulse. She was born a corpse until Chikyu's spirit joined with hers and brought her to life. Sakura is Chikyu, a demon who was not meant to be born but was. Was that easy enough for you to understand?" Naruto blinked surprised at the young prince's rude retort before narrowing his eyes in anger.

"What did you say?! I'm not stupid you teme!" Kotetsu grinded his teeth together preparing to respond to the blonde knuckle head's comeback when the front door opened. All eyes landed on the eldest Uchiha brother standing in the doorway in full ANBU armor with his ANBU mask in his hands.

"Welcome home Ita-chan!" Mikoto shouted before either of the two angry men could do anymore damage. Itachi nodded towards his mother before assessing the situation before him. Once he noted the two men glaring at each other while the little foreign princess stared unsurely between the two he started to speak.

"I do hope neither of you two will destroy my Okaa-san's house. If that were to happen, a reasonable punishment would be necessary along with a letter home to you elder brother, Kotetsu-sama." Both men glared at Itachi before grunting and looking away. Sakura let out a sigh before gracefully rising from the couch. Turning to Itachi, she placed her right hand over her heart and bowed.

"Welcome home, Mr. Itachi." She rose from her bow and placed her hands behind her back and turned to Mikoto. "I do believe I will be retiring for the night. I don't feel up to eat dinner for it has been a very tiring day. With that, I wish you all a goodnight." She nodded her head to everyone in the room before making her way up the stairs. Secretly, she glanced back over her should at Itachi. Her heart twisted slightly at the uncaring way his eyes watched her ascend the stairs. 'Just like everyone else… because I am cursed.' She thought before Itachi disappeared from her sight.

In Sasuke's Room

Sasuke was furious! First that stupid pink haired girl was acting all creepy and depressed then her stupid brother came and pissed him because he thought he was bulling his sister. As if the Great Sasuke Uchiha would waste his time on such a useless fragile girl like her? She probably wouldn't be able to bet Ino in an actual fight much less win the jonin exams. Why would the Hokage even allow someone like her to enter?

A sudden knock at his door interrupted his rant. He took in a deep breath to control his anger before shouting for the person to enter. The door opened to reveal the one person he was just ranting about in his head.

"Hello, Mr. Sasuke." The pink haired girl greeted closing the door softly behind her. She stood up straight with her hands folded behind her back. He could clearly see she was uncomfortable by the look on her face and the way she opened and closed her mouth wanting to say something but not having the courage to say it.

"What do you want?" His cold tone struck her deeply. She lowered her gaze to the floor mustering up as much courage as she possibly could.

"I believe we started off on the wrong foot. I didn't mean to offend you in any way that I did and I apologies on behalf of my brother. I know he can be very rude at times but that's only because of his desire to protect me. Knowing that, I apologize for how things ended p between the two of you since it is essentially my fault. So, please don't hold it against my brother. If you two were to talk it over, I believe you would become genuine friends." Sasuke said nothing but stared blankly at the girl in front of him processing everything that she told him.

The annoying little princess just apologized to him yet she doesn't even know why he's mad at her. To be honest, after seeing her dejected expression, he's having a hard time remembering why he was mad at her. Didn't it have something to do with being creepy?

"Fine, I'll accept your apology if you do one thing for me." Sasuke finally said after a long while of silence. Sakura's face lit up with hope as she slowly moved her eyes to look the Uchiha in the face. However, once his cold emotionless eyes filled her vision, her heart immediately dropped. "Stay away from me until the Jonin exams." A stabbing sensation consumed her heart as she dropped her head and nodded absently, his harsh words echoing throughout her mind.

"As you wish, Mr. Sasuke." And with that, she quickly left his room closing the door softly in her wake.

And there was chapter 7. Again, sorry for the late update. It was my computer's fault, not mine. I'll try to write and post the next chapter tonight. Hope you enjoyed!
