Hello! I'm right on time- late as usual! Really sorry I didn't update earlier when I said I would, my holiday has been busier than I expected. Very, very sorry. As an apology, I tried to make this chapter a little longer.
Thanks to everyone who followed and favorited, really appreciate it

Yuna53421: Thank you! Here's another chapter for ya!
Quick note- When I said I'm not going to update that often, I really meant it. I should have an award or something for 'world's laziest writer EVER'.
As always, I only own my OC and some of the plot.
Kara's POV
I start to fish my keys out of my pocket as I walk towards the door to my flat. I'm standing right in front of said door when my keys fly out of my pocket and hit me in the face. I groan as I rub my hit cheek.
I really need to take some of those key-rings off. Especially that butterfly one, that really packs a punch.
But the keys aren't the only thing that flew out.
I start when I see a small photo on the floor. It's Cole and I. He's giving me a piggy-back in the picture, and we're laughing like madmen. I bend down to scoop it up, and shove it back in my pocket. I kept the picture because… I guess...
I sigh.
I still love him.
I shake myself. Spending too long in memory lane can- no, WILL just cause you trouble.
I shove the key into the lock, turn it, and go inside.
I hate memory lane.
"Hey, Sky? Ya here?"
It's dark inside, which is a little weird, because I'm pretty sure I left the lights on. Suddenly the hair on the back of my neck rises up. I feel someone breathing down my neck. I scream as I turn around and the lights flicker on.
"I thought YOU were supposed to be the ninja, not me."
I want to strangle my red-headed flat-mate, but my anger quickly diffuses when she grins at me and motions to the table in the kitchen, unset, as normal when I come home.
I grin and roll my eyes as I dump my stuff and walk into the kitchen to the smell of noodle soup.
"You know me too well."
Skylor is my best friend. I met her shortly after Zane's funeral, funnily enough it was when I was about to go Sky-diving. She's an elemental like me, which I found a little weird at first, especially when she told me what it was. I trust her more than I trust anyone. She is like the sister I never had.
Sister.
I start to think of Nya. How much I used to trust her, how we would do everything together. It was always me, her, and Kai.
But that was before she betrayed you.
I shake my head, open the upper cabinet and toss the glasses over my shoulders.
I have this routine thing with Skylor, where I basically chuck things over my shoulder, and she catches them and puts them in the proper place, or vice versa. It's quite fun, so I have to be careful I don't do it when she's away (as she often is). Last time I forgot she wasn't here, I broke an entire dinner set. Fun times.
I toss the last fork over, and turn around to see the table perfectly set. I lick my lips in anticipation. Skylor's cooking is almost as good as Zane's, especially when it comes to noodles.
But what she places in front of me isn't a bowl of noodles. It's her invitation to the Tournament.
(HEY!GUESSWHAT?!IT'SRETURNOFTHELINEBREAKS!)
I pay the taxi. I never win against Skylor when it comes to rock-paper-scissors.
I tug at my ninja mask; it's been a while since I wore my Temple of Light kimono. I remember how much the guys pestered me and Cole about how the fact that our kimonos were almost identical was 'fate'. Kai's hair became flat that week.
Skylor pulls her hood up and wanders off towards a wooden pier with a small, quiet crowd. I lug my bag out and watch the taxi speed away, before following her.
We agreed earlier that we should act as though we didn't know each other, so we wouldn't get targeted. She goes right through the middle of the huddle and stands right at the end of the pier, next to the water. I stand at the edge of the huddle, and wait for the others to show up.
(LINEBREAKLINEBREAKLINEBREAKLINEBREAK)
Kai arrives first.
Then Jay.
Then Cole.
I notice that they all turned up in different ninja kimonos, Kai in his first ninja outfit, Cole in the dragon version, and Jay in the version we unlocked our true potentials in. I nod at each of them in turn, and return a glare that someone to my right is giving me. We stand in sort of circle, and take our hoods off. I decided to have my hair in a messy bun, which was a little different, but I liked it. It kept it out of the way.
Kai groans.
"Argh, I told you we shouldn't have worn them!"
At that point, Lloyd arrives, wearing a half mask, which he pulls down, and his kimono which he wore when we defeated the Digital Overlord. He nods a casual greeting, and allows Kai to lean in and continue.
"The Tournament of Elements… do you think all of them have powers like us?"
We all glance around uneasily at the competition, before returning to our little 'council of war'. I'm about to answer, but, par normal, Lloyd beats me to it.
"When I asked my dad about it, he got really suspicious;"
He frowned.
"Like there's something he's keeping from me."
I decide to butt into the rather merry conversation.
"Well, I'm guessing it's called the Tournament of Elements for a reason."
Cole steps forward slightly, and my heart skips a beat when he brushes against me slightly. Fortunately, he didn't seem to notice, as he spoke.
"The fortune cookie-"
"Which you swallowed with the fortune still inside."
"The fortune cookie said, tell no-one, or else there'd be consequences."
I'm honestly shocked that he doesn't glare at me for interrupting him. Lloyd speaks again.
"Relax, we're cool."
"Hope you're right, Green bean."
That is when I notice the massive ship coming out of the fog. I poke the others to get them to turn and look, which I must say, I enjoy.
As the ship turns to dock, I see two snake posse goons and a weirdly dressed guy with dark hair in a ponytail, who stands all straight with his hands behind his back. I resist the urge to laugh. As the ship drops anchor, the goons lower a wide gangplank, which Weirdo-dude strolls across to the pier. At the same time, the small crowd starts to migrate towards him, oddly enough, led by Skylor. We follow along at the back. Lloyd pipes up.
"We don't know yet if this is a trap. Wherever they take us, we have to stick together."
I nod, and turn back to the way I was going. I watch as Skylor steps up to the gangplank. Weirdo speaks in a haughty, nasally voice.
"Watch your step, madam."
Skylor turns slightly and smiles in my direction, which I return with a nod. I hear a small gasp from behind me. I turn, and Kai looks… love-struck. It takes all of my power not to start rolling on the floor laughing. Of all the girls in the world, Kai has a crush on my flatmate. Lloyd puts a hand on his shoulder from behind and scowls ion a way that reads: "Why me?"
"We can't let anything distract us. Your hear me Kai?!"
"Huh? Oh, I, uh ,yeah, got it, whatever you say!"
Me and Lloyd roll our eyes in synchronisation. I facepalm.
Jay steps up to the gangplank, and Weirdo smiles creepily. I sneak myself near to the back of the line. That guy gives me the heebie-jeebies. Weirdo speaks, still smiling creepily.
"Master Chen will be charmed to see that you've accepted his offer. A master of spinjitzu will fare favourably in the tournament."
"Hey, we're not here to fight, we're here to save a friend."
Really Jay? Really?
"Mm, don't be so petty Master Jay,"
Weirdo pulls a pair of nun-chucks out of Jay's bag.
"Everyone here has something to fight for."
I have a newfound small respect for Weirdo; I didn't know Jay had those. Jay grins nervously.
"Chopsticks. I'm a big eater, heh heh."
I facepalm. Wow.
Weirdo chucks the weapon into the Sea. Jay gulps, and boards. We all follow in a line behind him, I try to get past Weirdo as quickly as possible.
"Lloyd, wait!"
I'm on board just as I hear the shout, and turn to see Sensei Garmadon walking down the pier towards us.
"If you get on that boat, you may never return!"
Lloyd glances around uneasily.
"What are you doing here Dad?!"
"Master Chen is a dangerous man, who should never be trusted! Whatever he promised you, do not believe him!"
Weirdo is halfway across the gangplank towards us, when he turns 90 degrees to the left and spots Garmadon out of the corner of his eye. He turns his head and does a mocking half bow.
"Lord Garmadon, it's been awhile, it's Sensei now, correct? I can't remember…"
He turns back to the ship, and continues walking. Sensei G scowls.
"Clouse. I see master Chen still has you running his errands."
Lloyd breaks away from his father.
"I have to go dad, this is about Zane,"
He takes another step towards the ship.
"This is about family, if we're ever going to be whole again, I have to get on that ship."
Clouse turns at the ship end of the gangplank, smirk on his face.
"Last call. Are you in? or out?"
He makes a chopping gesture.
Lloyd purposefully turns and walks onto the ship. Sensei G sighs.
"I can't stop you son,"
He makes towards the gangplank.
"But I can join you!"
Clouse cuts in haughtily.
"Sorry, no more room on the ship."
He turns and walks onto the deck, and goons start to lift the gangplank. I push down a wave of panic, I feel like I'm trapped. Sensei G looks around.
"No room?"
He runs and ninja leaps, kicks the gangplank, and sends one of the goons to teetering on the edge, who he then kicks into the water, then lands gracefully on the ship. Clouse looks round nonchalantly.
"Hm, I stand corrected. There's room now."
Sensei G glowers.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to compete."
He smiles and puts his hand on Lloyds shoulder.
"Only to look out for my interests."
Lloyd smiles back at him.
Clouse yells from the front of the boat.
"Let's ship out!"
I think I'm about to start hyperventilating. Music will calm me down. I pull out my ipod and plug in my heaphones. I know the perfect song for the moment. I begin to listen to the clean version of "I'm on a boat".
No turning back now.
I personally like how I put Skylor in there, what do you think? I hope you enjoyed, because I don't think I'm going to update for AGES, being the lazy person that I am. By the way, does anybody know how to set up a poll on your profile? Cause I'm sort of struggling. Please give me points to improve on, I keep feeling like it's not quite right, but I can't figure out what it is. Cookies to all who Fave, Follow and Review.
Good day/night to ye!
