Chapter 3: Camping! Sorta
Nothing like the great outdoors. Where there's nature everywhere around you. The smell of pine trees and mosquito bites?
"Drew! I want to go back home!" May whined.
Today they had agreed to go camping. May was thrilled at the idea, but as soon as she figured what exactly camping was, she hated it.
Camping was defined (in her words) as an outdoor activity that will be the death of her. She also mentioned how sleeping on anything other than a bed was cruelty to her body. She also didn't fail to mention the mosquitos, calling them evil bugs who wanted to devour her delicious blood.
Drew groaned. May was going to be extremely difficult. He had advised her several times that it was better to go to a theme Park, but May just had to choose camping.
"I second that!" shouted a very tired looking Dawn. Paul stood next to her as support. Ash was at the back of the pack, mumbling to himself. Misty, however, looked enthusiastic. She was not in the least bit tired from all the climbing.
"Suck it up!" She shouted. May glared her way.
"I did! But these stupid bugs have been buzzing around me for hours! I need bug spray!"
"I'm tired." Ash weakly added. Normally, he'd have as much energy as Misty, but he had stayed up late playing video games. So, when he was abruptly woken up by his alarm and Misty banging on his door he regretted staying up so late.
"Seriously Misty, there's bugs! I thought you hated bugs!" Misty's eye twitched.
"I am not scared if that's what you're implying!"
"It's a lizard!" May shouted.
Misty screamed and jump on Ash. Poor Ash, who did not see it coming fell on the ground with Misty on top of him. He groaned in pain.
"Misty!"
May and Dawn forgot there complaining and laughed. Paul looked another way to hide his smile. Drew burst out laughing.
"See, you are scared!" May danced her victory dance, Dawn giggled, Paul sighed, and Drew sweat dropped.
"That was not funny!" Misty exclaimed, she lashed out on May, but May was quick. She hid behind Drew and now he was stuck in the middle.
"Come here, quit hiding!"
"I'm clumsy, not stupid! I'm not listening to you!"May shouted, shoving Drew forward as a shield from Misty.
Drew tried grabbing onto Misty's hands. He did not want to get smacked around.
"Misty is going to murder May!" Dawn cried out.
"Mist, stop!" Ash shouted after he recovered from his fall.
"Come here May!" Misty tried to reach May, but she only pushed Drew further to avoid any contact.
"I don't see why I'm in the middle of this!" Drew yelled, trying his best to dodge Misty.
"Paul, do something!" Paul raised an eyebrow.
"Why?"
"Do something, be a hero, go!" Dawn pushed Paul toward Misty. Paul sent a glare her way.
"Drew! Don't just stand there! Do something!"
"I am!"
"Well try harder!"
"I shouldn't be in the middle in the first place!"
"Exactly! So move out the way Drew!" Misty shouted.
"No, don't!" May said.
"SHUT UP!"
Everyone stopped there arguing and turned their attention to a very pist off Paul. Dawn yelped and hid behind Ash. Misty stopped trying to get May and mumbled an apology. May sighed in relief and also said sorry, while Drew was just glad he was out of the situation.
"Can't you stop this meaningless argument!"
"Sorry." they apologized once more.
Paul sighed. He went over and grabbed Dawn from her waist. He assured her that he was not mad at her. Ash followed them with Misty. Drew followed with May. They finally reached a nice camping spot and were now sitting around the campfire. They were telling stories. It was mostly the girls who told the stories. Most about love and embarrassing stories (for the guys).
"That's how our first date was!" finished Dawn, the girls awwe'd and the boys snickered Paul sent them a glare. Drew decided to "spice thing up".
"So, have you guys had any sexual interaction?" Misty gasped, Ash spit out his drink, Dawn was turning real red, but it was too dark to notice. Paul's eyes went slightly wide. May slapped her forehead, and shook her head. Leave it to Drew to bring up that sort of topic.
"What...what kind of question is that?" Ash asked.
"Its just a question."
"Well...what about you and May!"
"I can't answer if you don't." May's jaw dropped. She did not want Drew to even say anything on the topic.
"No." answered Paul, Dawn gasped. She swore that her blush was glowing for everyone to see. Ash eyes went wide, while Misty didn't comment (but that didn't mean she wasn't thinking things).
"Dawn's a virgin?" asked May. Dawn stuttered nonsense and wanted to hide from the world.
"Interesting, nothing wrong with that. What about you Ash?" Drew asked. Ash whined.
"Don't involve me!"
"Ash, he already did." answered Dawn. Misty mumbled something.
"What?" asked Dawn.
"I said, we haven't done that, but we have gotten close." Ash hid his face in embarrassment. This time Paul didn't comment. Dawn understood his embarrassment and gave him a sympathetic look.
"What about you, Drew!?" Ash asked, wanting to embarrass the green haired male.
"What about me?"
"Don't play dumb! What about you and May!"
"Of course!"
"Drew!" May shouted, mortified.
"What? It's true."
"You don't just say it like nothing!"
"You want me to go into details?"
"NO!"
"OMG!" yelled out Dawn and Misty, Ash flinched at their sudden outburst, while Paul simply tilted his head.
"Girl meeting!" shouted Dawn and Misty. They dragged May away from the campfire and into the woods. The boys sat there, dumbfounded.
"What just happened?" asked Ash, Paul and Drew shrugged it off. They put out the fire and went inside their tents, while the girls had their little meeting.
The next day, all the couples were heading back to the city.
"What did they say to you?" asked Drew, May flushed red.
"Nothing important." Drew didn't believe her one bit, but didn't press on the matter. He ruffled her hair.
"Don't let it get to you."
