Chapter 5: Drew Cheating? May's Wrath

We've seen our green haired friend get jealous. We've seen our purple haired friend get jealous. However, the girls haven't displayed such feelings yet. That all changed when someone came home late.

'He's late, he's late!' was all that ran through a certain brunette's head.

May had been pondering for endless hours of where her boyfriend was. He was never home late! Ever! If he was, he'd have informed her! She had phone called her friends, demanding them to spill any information they had on her boyfriend (secretly plotting his death), but they all had no clue. Paul commented Drew may have had overtime, but May profusely denied.

She had gone to look for him. Of course, she did not go to look for him at work because like she said 'Drew doesn't do overtime'. So it was no wonder she grew frustrated when she came back empty handed. She sat on the couch and huffed.

"Why didn't he tell me where he was going!?"

Her patience was thinning and she thought best to relax before she did something stupid.

'When he arrives, he better have a very very good excuse!'

She stayed seated on the couch for some time. Seconds turned into minutes, minutes became long, endless hours. Her eyes started to feel heavy. It was obvious her sleepiness would get the better of her. She closed her eyes to get some rest, but ended up falling asleep.

A few hours later

The door creaked open and in came Drew. He took his jacket off and placed it in the closet.

'Man, why did I agree to overtime? Especially when Barry is involved. Never going to do that again.' he mentally noted.

Yawning, he started making his way over to the bedroom. He noticed a figure in the corner of his eye. He turned and fully saw a certain brunette sprawled on the couch. A light smile formed on his face. May must have been waiting for him, which made him feel guilty for not calling ahead of time. He let her be. Once May was asleep it was difficult to get her to wake up. He headed upstairs to get some sleep himself. Little did he know that tomorrow was going to be a disaster.

The morning sun rays shone through the curtains, making May slowly wake up. She blinked a couple of times to adjust to the sudden light. She stretched her limbs and yawned. She mentally noted she had fallen asleep on the couch. She tilted her head before realizing exactly why she was on the couch.

'He better…' Her sudden thoughts were stopped when she spotted a certain green haired coming downstairs. She glared at him, unknowingly clenching her hands. The only thing on her mind was to interrogate Drew about his whereabouts.

Drew rubbed his eyes and noticed May standing. Glaring at him. He knew something was wrong, otherwise his girlfriend wouldn't look like she was about to murder someone.

"What's wrong?" He spoke cautiously. He did not want May to burst.

He could see her gritting her teeth in anger. He suddenly became very wary. He racked his mind to get a clue as to what he had done. He did not remember doing anything to upset her. Or did he? Clearly he did if she was glaring at him. He was about to speak again before May interrupted. He could hear the slight venomous tone.

"I'll tell you what's wrong Drew. Why did you come home late?"

"Oh that. Boss said if I could fill in for someone. So, I said yeah. I was going to call you, but Barry kept nagging me about every little thing. I swear he was out to get me."

Apparently that was the wrong thing to say. May exploded into a fit of rage. Or as he called it: a rant rage.

"Don't bullshit me Drew! You seriously can't expect me to believe that? Overtime? Overtime! You never do overtime! All of a sudden you agreed? I call bullshit on that! Don't expect me to believe that!"

"I'm not lying to you May!" Drew defended. May looked ready to pounce on him.

"You, you arggh!"

Drew cautiously approached May. The last thing he wanted was to be attacked. He went through that once and it was not pretty.

"Look. Let's talk things over. We'll go out for a walk and I'll explain things in detail. It'll cool your head off too, which you need. Don't deny it."

May tapped her foot before nodding. Drew was relieved, but remember something. He was putting on his shoes as he spoke.

"On second thought, let's talk about it later. I have to go somewhere. I'll see you later love. Be home soon!"

He dashed out the door and waved goodbye to May. She stood there. She did not believe Drew just left her like that. Her anger doubled.

'Overtime! What lame excuse and now he's meeting someone!'

May went into the living room and snatched her phone to dial Misty. She waited a few rings until she picked up.

"Hello?"

"Misty!" May yelled, "Drew is lying to me! He's seeing someone behind my back! He's cheating on me Misty! He said he had overtime, but I know that's a lie! I bet he's with another girl right now!"

Misty stayed silent for a couple of seconds before responding to her friends rant.

"Aren't you over exaggerating a tad bit May?"

"No! I'm positive he's seeing someone else!"

Misty's phone beeped. Dawn was calling her. She mentally sighed.

"May I have another call, so hold on for a sec." May muttered an okay.

Misty then answered the call, "Hello?"

"Misty, Misty!" Dawn's anxious voice came from the other end of the line.

"What's wrong Dawn?"

"Misty, I just so happen to go out on a walk with Paul and we saw Drew with another girl!"

'What!? So...so does this mean May's right about him cheating?!'

"Dawn, May's on the other end."

"We can't let her find out Misty! It'll break her heart!"

"I knowl but she has a right to know!"

"Well—noo Misty do-" The line went dead.

"Dawn?" she mentally sighed before going once again with May.

"May still there?"

"Yeah...Misty! Drew is cheating on me!"

'Dawn said she saw him with a girl, but what if they're just friends?'

"May...I-I think we should go with Dawn!"

May did not have time to question Misty because she had hung up. She quickly went to go get changed. She went to meet up with Dawn and Misty. Dawn frantically clung onto her as soon as she was in view.

"You what!?" she screamed.

"It's true! I saw them! They were laughing and smiling at each other! He was totally flirting!" Dawn continued her anguish discovery.

"We can't make such assumptions. I'm sure they're just friends or something." Misty reasoned.

"Liar! He is going to be dead!" May exclaimed.

She started the hunt to find Drew. No one would stop her! The girls ran after May, scared that she may end up doing something she'll regret later.

Sitting at a nearby cafe, Drew sat across from a young lady with golden locks and stunning violet eyes.

"Drew, I really think I'm in love with-" but the girl was interrupted. There was loud screams being heard. Everyone had their eyes on a brunette. A brunette who was being held back by two other girls. Everyone was confused as to why the brunette was shouting angry insults. Drew turned toward the screams and immediately recognized the Dawn, misty and...

"May?"

He was confused as to why his girlfriend was being held back. By the looks of it, she was struggling a lot. Misty was having a hard time keeping her in place.

"Do you know them?" the girl asked.

"Yeah, the one being held back is May, my girlfriend. The other two are her friends, Dawn and Misty."

"Oh...I see, but why is she being held back?"

"That's what I'd like to know too, lets find out."

He stood, as well as the still mysterious person.

"Misty, Dawn let me go!" May continued to shout, struggling to get out of their grasps.

"We refuse!" the yelled in unison.

"May?"

May stopped her thrashing and looked ahead. It was Drew. Drew and his affair (as she called it).

"You good for nothing jerk! How dare you cheat on me!"

"Wait, what?"

"Don't give me the innocent act! Dawn clearly saw you two being lovey dovey with each other!"

Drew finally understood. He finally understood why his girlfriend has been wanting to pounce on him all day. He let out a sigh.

"May, this is Veronica. She asked me to meet her because she wants to know more about Barry."

May was bout to retort, but stopped. She stared at him, puzzled.

"What? Barry?" the girl, now known as Veronica blushed.

"Hi, um, you see I happened to run into Barry this past week and I think I might be in love with him. I figured out Drew works with Barry and decided to approach him. I thought maybe he could help me."

"How did you meet Drew?" May asked still suspicious.

Drew then replied, "Remember I told you I worked overtime? Well, she happened to be there and approached me."

"So you're not cheating on me?" May asked.

Drew shook his head.

"Honestly May, if I were to cheat on you I'd never get caught."

May glared at him. He would have been dead dozen of times by now.

"Not that I would ever do that! You know I love you and only you." Drew quickly said.

Veronica giggled, "You two definitely act like a married couple! I apologize for giving you the wrong idea."

Dawn giggled nervously and Misty gritted her teeth and glared at her. They both let go of May.

"Dawn, what have you learned?"

"Uh, never jump to conclusions?"

"Exactly!"

May glomped Drew to the ground. He groaned from the sudden impact. May kissed him multiple times.

"I'm sorry Drew! I'll never doubt you again!"

Drew's face was slowly becoming a tomato. He lightly pushed May off him.

"Ok I get it, now get off."

Veronica smiled and bid them goodbye. They waved at her. Thankfully, May and Drew resolved their misunderstanding and he was able to live another day.
