Ch. 5
A week after Touya's loss to Ghetsis.
The ground shook as infantry and armored vehicles paraded through the streets of Castelia City amid cheers from the onlookers. A man with an orange robe, blonde hair, and a mask covering half his face stood on a mobile platform at the head of the convoy. He surveyed the crowd and smiled behind his mask. They stopped at the docks.
"My fellow citizens of Unova, this is the day. The day we finally fight to free every pokemon from human control! We will show the other regions their errors and open our way to them." He paused for effect, and to let the crowd settle down. He continued,
"They fight with pokemon as their weapons, well today they shall learn the truth! Pokemon are not their tools but living beings!" The crowd was eating it up, they were putty in his hands. "Some, my son included, want to force these beings into servitude. I say, 'No More!' Let all these creatures be free! "
He watched as the writhing mass absorbed his words, lies everyone of them of course, but they didn't need to know that. He motioned to his troops, his personal officers in the post-Plasma-divide uniform, dressed like pirates, while the grunts were in regular fatigues if varying colors, dependent on their Region stationing in the campaign.
"These fine men and women have chosen to fight for the freedom of those who can't themselves, or die trying. We honor their bravery and determination as they leave our shores and spread our beliefs for the sake of pokemon everywhere."
He saluted them and they returned it with a fervor. They then marched into the waiting battleships, cruisers, and frigates, while some loaded up into VTOLs and drop ships and departed.
Ghetsis then nodded at the Shadow Triad, who disappeared. Not ten seconds had passed before what appeared to be the Pokedex Holders decend from the sky on their Flying pokemon. The one in the front of the formation, Red, on his Charizard, broke off from his compatriots and commenced to set fire to a portion of the crowd. The others followed suit, torching anything they could and destroying everything. Ghetsis waited a few seconds, then looked at his remaining troops.
"Battle stations! Take out their pokemon as a last resort!" He added noticing a news crew taping the entire fight. "It's not their fault, they're forced to do this." His soldiers opened fire on their flying foes, bullets flew through the air towards them.
Ghetsis watched as "White" flew at him, her Braviary's claws stretched wide. He dodged at the last second and turned to look at her as a sniper shot her off her pokemon, a glancing blow, but enough to knock her off. She rose, produced a knife, ran towards Ghetsis, avoiding his bodyguards, and stabbed him in the stomach.
As the leader of Team Plasma fell, his bodyguards tackled "White" and arrested her. Ghetsis then "blacked out."
A week later the whole region had turned on the Pokedex Holders. Those who weren't, were either arrested and executed privately, or escaped to Anville Town, the only safe haven left in Unova. But even that wouldn't last long.
Red paced back and forth in the command center that was crudely constructed in Anville Town's train yard.
"How long do we have?" He asked Professor Juniper. She looked at the map laid out in front of them. Ghetsis' forces almost tripled their own. She shook her head and sighed.
"If we have half the trainers hit Castelia, we might have three days to evacuate to Kanto, Jhoto, or Hoenn. Kalos is too far away and supports Unova." She said as she drained a cup of cold coffee.
"I'll tell the others." Red said with resignation. "I hope it all pays off." With that he exited the command center
A/N: Well, it's not every day you have to make a choice like that huh? Anyway, I'm gonna start updating my story every other Monday and Spirit of Recovery the other Mondays. Nightmares and Horrors delight!
