I'm back friends! Don't forget to review, same disclaimer applies.
Vasya and Andrew entered the Library and everyone took a soft drink before returning to their seats and pulling out their lunches, apart from Bender who seemed to be Lacking in that department. Vasya turned the cold can over in her hand as the moisture from the can chilled her hand. She didn't drink caffeinated drinks very often, only coffee in early mornings or late nights when she had to practice, other than that she wasn't allowed sodas unless it was a special occasion.
She sat at the table and pulled a plastic Tupperware container with a rubber lid out of her satchel along with a plastic fork, the plastic was still slightly warm as she peeled back the lid and sighed as the strong scent of the tan gravy and thin chunks meat whiffed through the air. Her mother always made the best beef stroganoff with a family recipe.
"Vasya?" She lifted up her head a little and saw Clare beckoning her over, "Come on." Vasya smiled a little and carried her food over to the far end of the middle table in the front. Clare and her group of friends had sunken their talons into Vasya on her third day of school in the cafeteria. Vasya tagged along behind them like a puppy, attempting to learn their ways and fit in to the school culture.
Clare pulled out a fancy looking wood case from a small shopping bag. "what's in there?" Bender asked, "Guess." Clare said plainly and looked back "Where's your lunch?" she asked. Bender looked her up and down "you're wearin' it." She sneered at him "You're nauseating."
Bender chucked a Coke at Allison who caught it with out looking as Clare set up a sushi platter, something Vasya had never grow a taste for, Clare and taken her out to dinner with her parents and they went to Sushi, she had choke it down with a smile to be polite.
"What's that?" Bender asked. "Sushi…" Clare said as she poured a bit of black sauce into a small bowl. "Su-Shee?" Bender drew out the word. Vasya looked up and stuck out her tongue and gaged a little, "Rice, raw fish and seaweed." She explained and Bender choked back a gag, "you won't accept a guy's tongue in your mouth but you're gonna eat that?" he asked.
"Can I eat?"
Bender sighed and shook his head, "I don't know, give it a shot"
Vasya watched as Andy removed take a couple sandwiches out of his bag, a bag of potato chips, an apple, a banana, and a bag of cookies and a carton of milk. Bender stared as well until Andy looked at both of them "What?" Vasya turned with both eyebrows raised and opened her soda which hissed and fizzed, she paused before taking a tiny sip and blinked at its unfamiliar yet not all together unpleasant taste.
"not to your liking Ruski?" Bender plopped down beside her and she shook her head, "It's fine." She assured him, "Just not used to all that sugar, that's all." Bender pointed to the stew in the plastic bowl "And that is?" he asked. She looked at the food and shrugged, "Uh, beef stroganoff." She explained. "Hmmm." Was all Bender said before hopping up and visiting with Brian, raiding his lunch bag and laying its contents out on the wide table.
Vasya took another tiny sip of her drink and watched with interest. ".Well Brian, this is a very nutritious lunch, all the food groups are represented." He praised the dorky boy and then turned to him "Did your mom marry Mr. Rogers?" Clare and Andy chuckled as did Vasya slightly when Brian replied clueless, "Uh no, Mr. Johnson" Bender rolled his eyes and stood up, "Here's my impression of life at Big Bri's house." He cup one hand up to his mouth, "Son?" he called in a deep fatherly voice "Yea dad?" He replied to himself and gave himself dimples with his fingers.
"How's your day pal?" He called, one again father.
"Great! How's yours?"
"Super! Say son, how'd you like to go fishin this weekend?!"
"Great dad!" His face fell, "But I've got homework to do!"
"No problem son! You can do it one the boat!"
"Gee!"
Bender switched characters with ease and turned to an invisible, "Dear isn't our son swell?" His face softened comically and his voice became soft, "Yes dear, isn't life swell?" Bender mimed the mother and father kissing, then abruptly mimicked the action of father punching the mother, causing the cheerfully amused group fell somber.
Brain looked slightly hurt and Andy frowned, "Alright, how 'bout your family?" Bender pointed to himself "Oh mine, that's real easy." He stood up again and began to scratch his neck and chin and pointed in the air, "Stupid, worthless, no good, God damned, freeloading, son of a bitch, retarded, bigmouth, know it all, asshole, jerk!" he listed in a gruff voice then crossed his arms and pouted, "You forgot ugly, lazy, and disrespectful…"
"Shut up bitch!" he smack the air where his invisible was, "go fix me a turkey pot pie." Vasya watched along with the others in a stunned silence as he went on.
"What about you dad?" he asked
"Fuck you?" He raised his fist.
"No dad, what about you?"
"Fuck you!"
"No Dad! What about you?!"
"FUCK YOU!" He struck the air then jerked his head back.
They all stared, with slightly agape mouths. "Is that for real?" Bain asked quietly. "You wanna come over sometime?" Bender offered.
"That's bullshit, it's all part of your image I don't believe a word of it." Andy snapped and Vasya stared at him incredulously then looked at Bender who looked genuinely hurt, "You don't believe me?" he asked.
"No." Andy glared at him, "No?"
"Did I stutter?"
Bender stormed up to him and rolled up his right sleeve and bore a round, quarter sized, burn scar. "you see this?" he shoved it in Andy's face, "It's about the size of a cigar, Do. I . Stutter? See this is what you get at my house when you spill paint in the garage" He jerked his sleeve down and began to walk away.
"Now I don't think I need to sit with you fuckin' dildos anymore" He sneered and stormed away, pausing only to wreak havoc on the map table and use the flat surface to haul himself on the second floor platform. Vasya glared heatedly at Andy who caught her look, "What?"
"You shouldn't have said that." She hissed.
"I was I supposed to know? I mean he lies about everything anyway" Vasya glanced at her half eaten food and noticed Bender hadn't eaten anything. Casting a burning glare at Andy she popped the lid on the bowl, having lost her appetite. She eyed Bender high above them in the stair case and brushed past him irately.
"Tupitsa" She muttered in Russian, making Clare nod in agreement, "What did she say?" Andy whispered as he watched her climb up the stairs, "She called you a Dumbass"
(Meanwhile)
"Hey…" Vasya said softly, walking up the Bender slowly as the Boy fumed on the stair case. "What the fuck do you want?!" he snapped and she flinched before summoning her courage. "I- I mean-I uh…" She set the plastic bowl beside him along with the fork. "Here"
"You didn't have any food." She said plainly.
He glanced at the food and looked back at her, "You're fuckin weird you know that?" he muttered and opened the container and gave her a wary glance before shoving a spoonful into his mouth. "Mind if I sit?" She asked and he shrugged, "It's a free country." He said with a full mouth as a bead of tan gravy dripped down his chin.
She sat on the carpet and crossed her eyes. "I believe you know." She said as she had with Andy, "about all that." Bender paused before shoveling the last bite in and set the bowl aside slowly. "Thanks" he muttered, Vasya couldn't which part he was thanking her for but she shrugged "anytime"
"so what's it like?"
"what's what like?"
"Russia."
Vasya leaned back, she tried to think of a way to describe it to someone who'd never been there, "Well I lived out in the country, but the cities are very beautiful, especially Moscow and St. Petersburg."
Bender leaned on the bars and nodded, "So, I've always wanted to ask, Why are you here so much on the weekends?" Vasya smiled, "Uh the band room has better acoustics then my house, so come here sometimes to practice"
"Violin?"
"Viola"
"What's the difference?"
Vasya rolled her eyes, she always got that question, "a viola is larger than a violin" she explained, Bender was clearly uninterested in the subject. "So what's your family like?" he asked.
"Vasya thought, "Uh nice, my parents are a little overprotective but I mean they mean well." She shrugged, in reality overprotective was an understatement, at sixteen years of age she could barely walk out of the house without her parent's permission. Her life revolved solely around school, home and viola.
The only reason they even came to America was so she could get a musical scholarship, Her family was fairly poor so without one it was unlikely she could even attend. "I figured when you said the Coke had too much sugar for you." Bender smirked a little.
"Hey you wanna do something fun?" Vasysa nodded and he stood and offered his hand to help her off the floor. "Come on."
