Are you serious? 301 years?! This makes the answer to my question about why I was created, even further away than before!
I fall back against the fence, and slowly dropping to the ground. I let out a sigh and sit in the same position I was in before.
At least I know that something must be wrong. Why else would the man on the moon bring me here?
"I'm guessing that wasn't the answer you were hoping for" Jack says as he sits down next to me.
"Jack!" The boy called from the other side of the fence
Jack responded, "I'll be there in a second, Jamie."
"That's sweet." I say under my breath. "Are you friends with the boy?"
"Yeah. Why don't you hang out with us?" He says, with a pleasant tone in his voice.
"I would, I'd love too," I say, with a smile. Then I remember. "They can't see me. Thanks for asking though."
I've never actually had a conversation with anybody before. Unless you count me talking to sally, but she couldn't see or hear me. I was basically talking to myself. I have always though that I wouldn't be able to have a conversation like this.
"You were there that night." I say, breaking the silence between us.
He nods. "I remember that night."
"I haven't been able to get that night out of my head. It was one of my first memories. You made that night less scary for me."
His bright blue eyes stare into mine for what felt like to be hours, but only a couple of seconds. "As the spirit of fun, it's sorta like my job."
He got up off the ground and walks into Jamie's back yard.
I listen in on their conversation.
"Hey Jamie." Jack says.
"Jack Frost, Jack Frost, Jack Frost." The little girl's squeals of delight cut through the air, causing my ears to ring.
"Hey Sophie. The Easter bunny told me to tell you, that he says hello, and to give you this." Jack says.
The Easter bunny! I wish I could see what he gave her. I've always loved Easter. Seeing the kids run around, trying to find as many eggs as possible.
I decide to leave and begin to stand, still listening to their conversation.
"Who were you talking to?" Jamie says.
"A friend of mine; her name is Cupid."
He said I was a friend…
I jump up into the air a fly off to the highest building in town, where I was before.
I usually come back here so that I can see the sunset. The building is actually not that tall. I've tried to fly higher into the air before; I got to scared and decided to come back down.
I sat on the edge of the roof, looking at the day time sky. Then I begin to remember about the night that took place a year ago. I never want to forget that night, the night I met Jack Frost.
I walk down the street and into the woods. I had decided early that I would spend the night where my life began.
Finally I find the meadow. I run to the pond, which is frozen solid.
I take off my boots and leave them in the snow. The icy surface of the frozen pond sends a shiver up my spine and I gasp.
I lose my balance and fall, but get up and continue to walk on the ice.
Once I get to the center of the pond, I sit lay down and feel the cold feeling rush through me.
I close my eyes and reflect on my memories that I have gathered over this past year.
"Happy birthday to me." I say to myself in a low hushed whisper.
As I peacefully begin to dose off on the cool glass like ice, I hear rustling in the trees to my left. But my dreams are stronger, pulling me into a deep sleep, and the last thing I see is golden grains of sand floating over me.
