I look into pitch's eyes. All I can see is fear. But, not his fear, my fear. His sinister eyes feel as if there piercing through my soul.
My heart beat picks up, and it has become harder for me to breathe.
I turn my attention to the guardians, all looking in my direction. I slowly gulp from all the attention that is pushing down on my shoulders.
I have to get out of here, I can't this feeling anymore! I quickly jump through the air, trying to fly through the broken glass that I had crashed into when I came.
Before I can make my way out of the workshop, a dark cloud of sand hits me in the gut and knocks the air out of me. I'm sick of falling on my butt. To stop me from anymore butt bruises, I twist in away so I can land on my feet.
I feel like Cat Woman!
I start to recognize the pain in my lower intestines and groan.
So, even when I find a way to not get hurt, I still get freaking hurt!
That's when the chaos begins. Jack throws a blast of icy shards at the man on top of the globe with his staff. I gasp a little at the violent act. The horses begin to attack once again and I find myself in the mix of all the pandemonium. The guardians fight through the thunderstorm of sand.
I run over to where Jack is and grab his arm.
To be completely honest, I'm not sure what to do next. My arrows just go through them and it seems like fighting them off is useless, because there's millions of them.
Jack looks at me and raises his eyebrows. "You okay?"
I hesitate to respond. I'm not really sure if I am okay. I hurt like crazy.
I guess he notices my hesitation because he puts his arm under mine, trying to support me. He then takes me to the office that the guardians were talking in before, setting me down on the floor in the corner.
"Stay here," he says as he turns around and walks towards the door.
"Wait what!" I exclaim as I try to stand up again. Pain aches throughout my limbs, causing me to sit back down.
"You're too injured. I probably shouldn't have brought you back here." He walks out the door and close it shut before I can defend my case. I hear the door knob jiggle.
He's locking me in!
With that, I get up and run for the door, ignore all the pain that ignites as I run to the door.
I twisted doorknob, but it won't budge. He froze in the doorknob from the other side. I let out breast straightened sigh and begin to bang on the door.
"JACK, Open the door!" I exclaim with a hint of fright in my voice.
I don't want to just sit around and be of no help. Injured or not, I don't want to be treated any different. I began to ram my shoulder into the door, hoping that it might help me escape.
He's not going to let me out anytime soon. I sigh and slowly fall to the floor, with my shoulder still up against the door. I let out a soft Wimper and bow my head.
Listening through the door to the outside, I can hear that they're winning. The guardians must be pretty good at their job.
I feel helpless. I don't want to just sit here and wait for them to fight the enemy off. But, it's not my job to help. I'm just a spirit, not a guardian.
How did I get myself into this mess? Yesterday was my birthday; I was content with how I was before then. Well, actually I wasn't. I was lonely and bored most of the time.
At one point in the year, I started to believe that I was stuck in limbo or a different domination. That theory only lasted for about a week.
I listen to the gift still happening outside. Why does Jack care if I'm injuries so much. I know he's being friendly. But, locking me in a room to keep me safe is a little too far of a gesture for a friendly person to do.
Maybe he feels more for me.
The idea of jack liking me makes me feel sick in the stomach. We've only known each other for a day and a couple of hours. But, it could be possible because I have a crush for him.
These thoughts running through my mind make a warm feeling flow through my cheeks. I must be blushing.
I get up and look around the room to see if anything can help me pry open the door. There are a lot of ice sculptures in the center of the room. Why would he have so many of them?
I pick one up and look at it in my hands. It's a train. I wonder if he does this so that when he's not delivering presents, he won't be bored. I run my finger along the edges of the ice train, feeling how it's so cleanly chiseled they are.
After a while of starring at the train in my hands, I realized that it's been about 20 minutes.
Suddenly, a loud bang comes from outside the door. I drop the model train, from shock. Once it hits the ground, it shatters into millions of pieces. The ice shards land all over the floor and I gasp.
I bend down and start picking up the small pieces of ice. I hear the door knob jiggle and I freeze in place. It opens and I see jack standing there.
"It's safe to come out now." He weakly smiles at me and I sigh with relief.
I look up at him with a regretful look, "I broke his train." My voice cracks and I gulp. "I didn't mean to though." I turn my attention back to the ground and start picking up the mess that I have made.
I feel a hand brush against mine. Jack helps me pick up the pieces of ice. "Watch this." He smiles at me and takes the ice out of me hand. He then squeezes that ice together in the plan on him hand.
"Close your eyes."
I close my eyes and left out a heavy breathe. After about 20 seconds, he tells me to open my eyes.
An ice arrow lies flat in the palm of his hands.
I move my attention from the arrow, to his eyes.
It's so beautiful. I smile at him and slowly reach for the crystal arrow. Once I pick it up, a chill makes goose bumps run up my arms.
"You guys ok?" I look up to see bunny standing in the door way of the room.
Jack turns his head and nods. He holds out his hand and helps me stand.
"We're fine." Jack answers.
The guardians slowly walk in and sit down around the room, exhausted.
I feel so uncomfortable being here. I move a little closer to jack and look at the defeated faces plastered on their faces. Obviously they won, so why do they look so upset.
I turn my attention to the door that led to the main center of the workshop. Slowly, I begin to walk to the door and look outside. What I see is devastating.
The work shop was completely destroyed. Broken toys are scattered across the floor. Glass from the giant dome was everywhere. I walk out of the room to get a better look. Tables are flipped over, the walls are destroyed, and everything is broken. The only thing that doesn't look demolished is the globe. The giant globe's lights aren't as bright anymore.
"How are we going to fix this?" I say, shocked that pitch caused all of this destruction.
I turn around to unexpectedly see the guardians closely walking behind me.
"Whoa, slow down deadhead," Bunny says as he crosses him arms. "What do you mean by 'we'?"
I take this chance to lighten the mood with a smart comment. "Definition, we: use by a speaker to refer to him or herself and one or more people, considered together."
Jake smirks and turns away from Bunny so he wouldn't see him silently laughing.
Tooth flutters over to me and smiles, placing a hand on my shoulder. "We don't want to drag you into this mess." She says.
"It's ok. I wanna help." I give her a genuine smile.
"Well ok then! Let's get to work!" North shouts in a joyful tone.
Bunny, tooth, and Sandy follow North to get some cleaning tools and supplies. As they walk off, I can her Bunny protest about me staying here.
Jack walks up to me. "You don't have to stay if you don't want to."
"I'd rather stay." I tell him
To be honest, I have nowhere else to go. Pitch probably read my journal and knows all the places I hang out. Somehow he knew I was here, which terrifies me. Not really sure why I should though.
After a while of cleaning, we had gotten most of the glass and toys up off the floor.
It doesn't look as good as it did when I came here first, but it looks way better.
I sit down in the corner next to jack.
"What's your guys' next move?" I casually ask Jack.
"Not sure. Pitch is stronger this time. The last time we say him, he was swallowed by his one fear. Now he wants revenge. He wasn't this destructive last time we fought."
I think about what Jack said for a second.
"He turned his fear into anger, which is probably why he's stronger and less remorseful." I tell him.
Slowly nods his head. "You're probably right,"
I cut him off "I am always right." I stick my nose up in the air and smirk.
"Cocky much?" He smirks at me.
I smirk back. "Very..."
Our eyes lock and I start to notice that with every second our eyes hold their gaze, we inch closer to each other.
I break eye contact and look down at the ground. "So, uh how are we going to fix-" before I could finish my sentence, Jack grabs my chin and gently pulls my head up, forcing me to look at him.
"Did you shoot me with one of your magic arrows?" he whispers then lefts out a small chuckle.
I scan is face and softly whisper back, "if I did, you wouldn't have realized it."
We keep eye contact for what seems like forever. His deep blue eyes make me melt and all I want to do is sit here and look at them forever.
Suddenly, his lips press up against mine. My eyes widen and my body stiffens, but I finally give in and close my eye, kissing him back.
He pulls away and looks at me with soft, tender eyes. "Sorry, I've just been wanting to do that for a while." He slowly shakes his head and leans back.
I grab his arms and pull him back in though. I gently kiss him for about 10 seconds, and then pull away. I lean my head against his chest and sigh, "Me too."
YAY THEY KISSED.
