First off I wanna say, I'm soooooo sorry for not writing in such a long time, I had a lot going on school wise and personally in a short period of time so I hope you all understand.

Secondly; I'm sorry but this chapter is a little shorter than I usually write because I have to apologize to my other two ongoing stories too so I just mainly wanted to have a story, no matter how long, out to explain that I'm back in action.

Enjoy

Time dating: 7 months 2 week and 2 days

The man stood a few feet from him, half his face was hidden by the shadow of his hood. Lucy stood there in amazement, not only had Natsu noticed the man jump up from the bushes but somehow managed to get a reverse attack on him. A vein in her head throbbed, bringing back a memory that she long buried away, again of a man jumping out of a dark place, and taking her away with him. She found herself gasping for breath.

"Erza switch." Natsu screamed. He rushed passed the man, confusing him as Erza jumped over him and skillfully swung at the hooded figure with a large stick she had picked up, though it did little to affect the man who was able to dodge and or block any jab or slash that she threw at him. Natsu slid to the ground next to her smiling a toothy grin. "Having fun Lucy?"

She shook he head violently, her breathing getting more panic, slowly her legs went out from under her and she was kneeling in the dirt next to Natsu. "Oi Lucy what's wrong? Nee-chan, I need help, switch out."

"Got it. Wendy it's up to you, Jellal support her if she needs it."

"GOT IT!" The two screamed at Erza who jumped out. Wendy ran in, with a speed she didn't expect her to have, and threw a high kick at the man, he caught it and attempted to throw Wendy, but she quickly turned it around and landed a solid kick to his chest. The rest of the fight was blocked out by Erza who came in an obscure her view, opening her eyes up wide and flashing the light of her phones' flashlight.

"She going into shock Natsu, what happened?"

"I don't know, once dad popped out like that she suddenly broke down."

"Dad?" She muttered out.

"That's right dad, Dad stop! Lucy's panicking." Natsu screamed. Lucy heard the scuffle stop and foot step against the dirt road run to her. An older man slid down next to her, thanks to his jacket the only part of his face that was visible was his mouth.

"Sorry Lucy-chan, I just want to show off a bit, I didn't mean to be scary."

Suddenly her vision snapped again this time it was clearly replaced by a scenery that had always haunted her, an empty warehouse, a figure slumped in a corner, a hooded figure standing over her. "Listen little girl!" It screamed at her. "I won't get scary again as long as you shut the fuck up and you don't get feisty like that bitch over there!"

"LUCY!" Natsu screamed at her again pulling her out of her daze. Natsu reached over and pulled the man's hood down, revealing what seemed to be an older version of Natsu, though his eyebrows did seem slightly thicker and his hair wasn't as spiky.

"Lucy?" He said looking at her. "Don't I know you?"

Her vision snapped again and she was back in the room again, the man had just run off through a hallway that was now filled with loud bangs and flashing lights followed by a dull thump, like a knocked over sack of potatoes. Suddenly a man came and crouched next to her, his face obscured by shadows.

"Don't worry Lucy-chan I'm here to help you." He leaned closer to her and his face came into the light, the same pink hair, dark eyes and looking slightly younger than he was currently but there was no mistaking it. Her vision came back to her again and she was still face to face with him. Natsu's father. All she could do was let herself let out a scream before she completely blacked out.

Slowly Lucy woke up again, her eyes where covered and she felt something cold resting on her forehead. She rolled over slightly and opened her eyes. She was in a dark room, the only light was coming through a crack in a shade over a window. She rolled around on the bed she was sleeping on, facing away from the small amount light coming in through the window. Sitting in the room with her was an older woman with light blue hair, she was slightly taller than her and very thin. She was calmly knitting, the gentle clacking of her needles was creating a soft melodic background.

"You had a panic attack, you know that right?" The woman spoke, the pace of her knitting not slowing as she spoke. "It sure was a surprise. Natsu came rushing from the road with what looked like a dead girl in his arms, scared the life out of me."

Lucy struggled up to a seating position. "Where are we? Who are you? Where's Natsu?"

"Inside the house, Natsu carried you here after you fainted. I'm Natsu's mother, Grandeeney. From what I heard I thought you'd be panicking more, I mean you did pass out from a man jumping out from a bush, but that wasn't it was it?"

"Did he tell you already?" Lucy said, raising her hand up to keep the cold compact on her head.

"He told me about it when it happened, who would have thought that Natsu would have found you and brought you back to him. Funny how destinies work, isn't it?"

"Have you...told Natsu and the others yet?"

"No, that's up for you to do."

"Thank you, I don't want them to think I was hiding it from them."

"Weren't you?"

Lucy stayed quite, looking down at her knuckles. "I wasn't trying to, at least not from them."

"Then from who?" The sound of her needles ending in a sudden metallic clack. She turned to face Grandeeney, her blue eyes staring coldly into her own, sending an eerie chill down her spine. She swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat.

"From myself."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I try to pretend it never happened, that it was like this from the minute I was born. I try to forget memories I made and avoid places that we visited. It never happened if I refuse to believe it did!" Lucy felt the pitch of her voice rising as she talked, the sounds beginning to leave her throat raspy and sore. "Only Levy's the proof it happened and she understands, she doesn't mention it, she hasn't told anyone. My dad doesn't talk about it, he acts like it never happened! Why can't I do-" Lucy screams where interrupted by a soft, dull tap on her head. In a second Grandeeney had out reached on of her hands and tapped her with the outstretched tip of the knitting needles.

"You can't do that. Who would remember her otherwise, don't you thinks she gets lonely? She's completely forgotten about and avoided like she has the pox." The women's voice was stern but not harsh. "And even if that wasn't the case, you're making others worry about you. Natsu was on the verge of tears, last time I saw him like that was when Igneel got stabbed in the chest and he almost died, even then I'd say he wasn't this bad. And the girls weren't in the best shape either, Wendy was frantically running around trying to help you and Erza openly took a hug from that boyfriend of hers, now I've seen them together quite a bit and I've never seen her be anything but a cheeky little brat with him." She laughed at her own comment as she withdrew her arms and started knitting again, the speed starting slow before gaining to the rhythm she once had.

"But it's hard."

"Life is hard. No one get everything that they want dropped into their palms and if they do, are they truly living? Life isn't supposed to be a walk in the park." She set her needles down and stood up. "Let's go."

"Where?"

"To the back, they're waiting for you and it's in your best interest if you give them a proper explanation." Grandeeney wrapped the wool around Lucy next showing it off as a light pink scarf, akin to the one Natsu wore coming here. "It's nippy outside so let's go." The older women walked out the door before turning back to look at her. Lucy quickly dried her eyes and raised the scarf up higher on her face.

"Sure."
