Time for another chapter. Just to let you all know, I will be taking a break for awhile. When I get back, I will have more chapters ready. And for this chapter, I am going to include another DC Character who is rarely mentioned (in my view). Hope you all enjoy it!

Chapter 16

In the planet of Almerac, there was a queen who was bathing in her luxurious bathtub after the day she has had. She had fought countless suitors who have traveled across the stars to seek her hand in marriage. But the only way for that to happen is if they agreed to battle her. But thanks to her incredible strength, speed and agility, she easily dominated her suitors. And here she is now, relaxing after a long day of battles. She was in her early twenties, had long red hair and green eyes. She was none other than Queen Maxima.

As her maidens were combing her hair, Maxima sighed and said "Is there no worthy challenger to become my mate? All of these combatants are so weak."

One of her maids replied "You just haven't found the right one."

Maxima sighed and said "Perhaps, but let us search for more potential candidates."

When she waved her right hand, a screen appeared in front of her. As the screen started to focus, an image of Superman appeared. As Maxima looks at the screen, she watch Superman's battles and how he stood victorious in each one. Impressed with this one's strength, she started to look where this candidate lives. In a matter of seconds, an image of the planet Earth appeared.

Smirking, Maxima said "Looks like I might have found the perfect mate."

As she paused to look at Superman's appearance she said "He has the muscles in all the right places, that chin is dashing and his power is astonishing."

She then stands up from the bathtub and said "It's official, I will challenge this Superman to become my mate!"

Once she got out of the bathtub, her body started to glow. In matter of seconds, she was wearing a slim tight armor that had a black undersuit while the armor was silver, her gauntlets had buttons on them that will allow her to activate her teleportation device and she was wearing her royal crown that almost looks like a helmet.

Maxima gave off a devious smile and said "Now let's go find my mate."

With that, Maxima pressed on one of her buttons and she was covered in a white light. Seconds later, she had disappeared into thin air.

On top of the Daily Planet, Superboy and Raizen were standing overlooking Metropolis. After spending minutes of looking into the city, Superboy turns to Raizen and said "Hey."

Raizen looks at Superboy and said "Yeah?"

Superboy replied "Ever wonder why we are here?"

Raizen looks up into the sky and said "It's one of life's great mysteries, isn't it? I mean, why are we here? Are we the product of some cosmic coincidence or is there a high being, watching over us? I don't know, but it keeps me up at night."

After a few seconds, Superboy raised an eyebrow and said "What? I mean, why are we here? In Metropolis?"

"Hm?" Raizen said, "Oh…yeah that."

"What was all that stuff about?" Superboy asked.

Raizen shrugged and said "Just things I have been thinking about. And before you ask, no I do not want to talk about it."

Superboy shook his head and said "But seriously, why are we here?"

Raizen replied "From what I heard, Superman left with Martian Manhunter on some deep space mission. So while he is away, I guess he want you and me to watch over Metropolis while his is gone."

"What's up with that?" Superboy said, "He goes off to handle space business while we stay here and baby-sit the city."

"Look at it this way," Raizen said, "You are finally going to prove yourself to Superman that you can handle defending Metropolis on your own."

Superboy raised an eyebrow and said "On my own? What about you?"

Raizen shrugged and said "Knowing you, you are going to tell me to stay out of any trouble we are going to encounter and do it by yourself. On a side note, if you screw up, I will be waving on the sidelines."

There was a moment of silence until Superboy said "You are a jerk all the time. You know that right?"

"It's a gift," Raizen said.

All of a sudden, Superboy's phone started to go off. When he took out and answered it, it was Miss Martian. As Superboy was talking to his girlfriend, Raizen starts to wonder how those two got together. After he hangs up, Superboy let out a sigh and said "I wonder what to get her."

Raizen looks at him curiously and said "For what?"

Superboy replied "For Christmas. I have until December to find a present."

Raizen stares at him blankly and said "But we're in October."

"Exactly," Superboy said, "Gives me plenty of time to find the perfect gift for her. It's our first Christmas as a couple and…"

He suddenly realizes something and said "Wait a minute! Why am I telling you all this?!"

The Saiyan shrugged and said "I guess you need to get it out of you."

Before Superboy was about to say something, Raizen said "I don't get the whole Christmas concept. What's the point?"

Just as Superboy was about to say something, there was a flash of light behind them. When the two of the turned around, they saw Maxima appear as she said "Superman! I have come to challenge you for…"

The moment she saw Superboy, she said "Hold on, who are you?"

Superboy scowled "None of your business! What do you want with Superman?!"

Maxima replied "I am here to fight him of course. Where is he?"

"Not here," Raizen said, "Just missed him."

As Maxima cursed, Raizen said "Why are you looking for him?"

Before Maxima could reply, Superboy looks at Raizen and said "What is your deal?! Can't you see that she is demanding a fight from Superman?! I say we take her down!"

Maxima laughed and said "You honestly believe that you can defeat me?"

Superboy cracked his knuckles and said "It won't take long."

Raizen then rolls his arms and said "About time. I was starting to get bored."

Superboy looks at him and said "I got it."

With that, Superboy charges at Maxima and swings his right fist. Maxima merely raises her left hand and stops Superboy's attack. Surprised by this, when Superboy was about to swing his other fist, Maxima pulls back her right fist and lands a powerful blow towards Superboy, sending him flying miles away from Maxima and Raizen.

Raizen whistles at her strength and said "Nice arm."

Maxima smiles and said "Thank you. Now, are you going to attack me?"

As Maxima got into her fighting stance, Raizen shook his head and said "Nah."

When Maxima was about to reply back, Raizen said "Superboy is going to be back any minute now and will resume his fight against you. Figure let him have some action before I intervene."

Maxima shrugged in agreement and said "Fair enough."

After a minute have passed, Raizen decides to have a conversation with her by saying "I can tell you are a warrior princess. Mind if I ask you where are you from?"

Maxima smiles at Raizen's curiosity and replies "I am queen actually. I am from the planet of Almerac."

"Queen, huh?" Raizen asked, "Does your husband know you're here?"

Maxima shook her head and said "Sadly, I don't have a husband yet. The reason why is because I haven't chosen the right mate. Plus, I need to be defeated in combat."

Now it all made sense why Maxima was here. She must have heard about Superman and decided to challenge him so that he can defeat her and be her mate. But in order to do that, Superman will have to defeat her. Which will seemly be a problem since Maxima is strong. Just then, something was falling from the sky and landed in front of them. It was Superboy and he was pissed. When he was about to charge at him, Maxima flew towards him and gave him a bear-hug. Trapping his arms, Maxima started to float with him on it.

Raizen then said "If you want to continue your fight, I know a place where we can't hurt any bystanders."

Normally, Maxima wouldn't care who got in the way, but seeing the young Saiyan calm demeanor, it made Maxima want to trust. Respecting his request, Maxima replied "Lead on then."

As Raizen floated mid-air, he flew into the distance with Maxima, who was still holding Superboy, following him. Time has past and Raizen arrived at an old shipping pier where hardly anyone is present.

Raizen stops and said "This spot is good."

Maxima shrugged and said "Good enough for me."

With that, Maxima let's go of Superboy, grabs his collar, spins him and throws him to the ground. It caused a small shockwave, and when the smoke cleared, there was a small crater with Superboy in it. When Raizen and Maxima landed on the ground, Superboy got up, looks at Raizen and yelled "What the hell, man?! I thought you were going to help?!"

Raizen replied "You said you got this! Besides, I merely picked out a location so that no one will get hurt."

He then leaps into the air, sat on one of the shipping crates and said "Have fun."

Superboy shook his head and "What an ass—"

He was cut short when Maxima charged towards him and delivers a powerful punch to his stomach. Grunting in pain, when Superboy wrapped his stomach with his arms, Maxima brought her left fist to her right side and delivered a powerful back-fist towards Superboy's face. The impact sends him flying towards one of the shipping crates, leaving a huge dent. As Raizen laughed at this, he saw Superboy got up and he roared in rage. He then charged at Maxima and started to swing his fists. However, Maxima was dodging them with ease and was waiting for him to tire himself out. The moment Superboy was started to breathe heavily, this was Maxima's chance. In a fast instant, she started to deliver powerful jabs into Superboy's stomach. In pain, when Superboy leaned forward, Maxima grabs him by the head, pulls it down and sends a powerful knee-kick to Superboy's face. When Maxima lets got, Superboy held onto his face, and when he saw his hands, he saw blood on them. The moment he looks at Maxima one last time, she already spun her body, swings her left leg towards Superboy's side of the head and sends him flying once again into a shipping crate. Only this time, he went right through it. When he landed on the other side while facing upwards, he tries to get up, but he had a concussion from too many blows to the head that caused him to stay on the floor.

At that moment, Raizen appeared next to him and said "So, is it my turn?"

Superboy then replied in a fainted tone "Screw…you…"

Raizen looks at Maxima through the hole and said "He's done!"

"Figure," Maxima looks away and muttered to herself, "Not much of a challenge."

But the moment she looks back, Raizen was already a few feet away from her. Her eyes widen and thought "Wait a minute, how did he get here so fast?"

Raizen then said "Before we start, how about a little wager?"

Curious about this wager, Maxima said "What wager?"

Raizen replied "If I win, not only will I have to refuse to be your 'mate', but you must swear that you will leave this planet and never return to challenge Superman."

Hearing his wager, Maxima laughed and said "Are you serious? The code says that if you beat me, you will have to become my mate. What will happen if I win?"

Raizen smiles and said "Then you can have this planet."

Her eyes widen and said "Are you serious? You are wagering your planet against for me leaving this planet and not only ever challenge Superman, but refuse you as my mate?"

She rubs her chin and said "Tempting."

"Think about it," Raizen said, "If you were to take over this world, then Superman will have to fight you. And if he manages to beat you, you can give him back Earth in exchange for himself. If not…you now have two planets to rule."

Maxima smiles and said "I like it. Alright, I accept. Too bad you are going lose."

Raizen said "To be fair, I'll give you the first blow."

"Ah," Maxima said, "You are too kind."

She then charged at him and swung her left fist towards Raizen's face. When it made contact, it released a small shockwave everywhere. But to her surprise, Raizen was still standing with a smile on her face. Maxima's strength could knock out her opponents with one punch! Superboy was lucky to survive a few blows, but Raizen just took one without blocking and was still standing like nothing happen! She then swings her right fist, but Raizen held up his left arm and blocks it. When Raizen pulls back his right fist, his fist started to glow in yellow energy, and when he punched Maxima in the stomach, it released a small blast that sends her flying through three crates! Recovering from Raizen's attack, when Maxima got up, she already saw him floating in mid-air. She then flew towards and started to throw punches at him. But Raizen manages to dodge them with ease. When Maxima begins to throw some kicks, Raizen uses his arms to defend himself.

His turn to attack, when Raizen pulled back his right fist, Maxima summons a shield to defend herself. When Raizen punched the shield, the force sends Maxima flying back to the ground. Even though Maxima manages to prevent herself from crashing to the ground, she felt pain in her left arm where she had the shield. As she saw her shield, her eyes widen. Her shield had a huge dent with Raizen's fist implanted on it.

"That's impossible!" Maxima thought, "This shield is made from the strongest metal! And he just dented like nothing!"

Distracted by her shield, she didn't notice Raizen landing in front of her and said "Give up?"

Looking back at him, Maxima threw the shield and said "Not a chance."

At that moment, she summons two swords and charged at Raizen. When she starts swinging her swords, Raizen begins to dodge them. As Maxima swings her left sword, Raizen grabs her wrist with his right hand. And when she did swings her right sword, Raizen stops it with his left hand. Adding strength, Raizen began to squeeze her wrist until she gritted her teeth in pain and dropped her swords. In a fast instant, Raizen brought up his right foot, let's go of Maxima and kicks her in the stomach, sending her flying towards one of the shipping crates. As she fell forward on her hands and knees, Raizen rushed up to swords, picks them up and rushes towards her. Finally getting up, when Maxima saw Raizen, she tries to stop him. But her actions failed when he crossed the swords to form a X and places them near Maxima's neck.

As she was looking Raizen, she saw no cruelty, no rage or no fear across his face. All she saw was…entertainment? Satisfaction? But the point was that he was smiling. At that moment, Maxima knew that this young man was a born fighter.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Raizen said "Do you yield?"

Trying to find a way out of this situation, Maxima knew that if she continues, this person might do something she will regret. She let out a sigh and said "Alright. You win."

Raizen gave off a cocky smile as he pulled the swords away from her neck and places them on his shoulders. Raizen then said "Then you will leave and never return to challenge Superman to be your mate. And also, I have to refuse to be your mate."

Maxima then said in a disappointed way "I suppose a deal is a deal."

As Raizen felt good about himself, Maxima then said "However…"

She then looks at Raizen and said "You said you refuse to be my mate when you win this battle. And by the way you fight and the power you demonstrated, I believe I have changed my mind about my potential mate."

As Raizen raised an eyebrow, Maxima points at him and said "The next time we meet, I want you to be my mate!"

Surprised by this, Raizen yelled "What?! But…what?!"

Maxima replied "Don't look so surprised, I bet you anything you were holding back. But I forgive you for not using your full strength."

When Raizen was about to say something, Maxima said in an excited way "And the next time we face off and you win, I shall prepare our wedding by then!"

"Wedding?!" Raizen shouted.

Maxima nodded and said "Our children will be perfect!"

"Children?!" Raizen shouted while his left eye twitched.

At that moment, Maxima walks up to him until she was inches in front of him and said "What do you say?"

All Raizen could to is utter nothing. Here he thought he was going to defeat Maxima so that she will leave the planet and leave Superman alone. But instead, she switched her affection towards him!

His thoughts were interrupted when Maxima said "I am speechless too, my love."

At that moment, she grabs his armor collar, pulls him towards her and kisses him in the lips! When they departed, Maxima said "But I will have to get stronger because, let's face it, I don't want to be humiliated like that again."

When she steps away from him, she said "And you are welcome to keep my swords and shield. Be sure that everything you see them, think only of me."

She then said "See you soon, my love!"

With that, she pressed a button and her body was covered in light. Within seconds, she was gone. Raizen was just standing there in complete shock. At that moment, Superboy was fully recovered and started to make his way towards him. When he was near the Saiyan, Superboy said "Ugh, what happen? Did you win?"

Getting over his shock, Raizen said "Yeah…and now I am starting regret it."

Back at Almerac, Maxima had return to her castle where a couple of maids were waiting for her. When they saw her, one of her maid said "So my queen, another fail I presume?"

Maxima shook her head, smiled and said "Actually, I have found someone much better."

When she turns towards a screen and waves her hands, an image of Raizen appeared. Maxima smiles and said "Soon, you and I will be together, my love."

Hahahahaha! I am sorry, but I have had to do that! Seeing Maxima in the old Superman Animated Series gave me the idea to do this chapter. I am not going to have every DC women throw themselves at Raizen, I already have a pairing in mind (though I know some of you already know). And with that, I will see you all later! Please Review!
