Edward looked angry enough to kill someone. He slowly stalked towards Paul, and the fury in his eyes scared me for Paul's sake, but only for a moment. But then I remembered what Paul had tried to do.
Edward punched Paul, square on the jaw and Paul was knocked out. That's when we heard the sirens from the police vehicles. Edward untied the binds on my arms and legs and led me outside with his arms around me. He was scarily quiet all this time. Outside, I saw Emmett talking to the policemen. When he saw us, he ran towards us and enveloped me in a hug. I had to give my statement to the police which was brief, but I told them about Paul's plan. Edward then led me to his car and Emmett followed us in his jeep.
He drove to my house in total silence. When we reached, I saw that Alice and Jasper already there, looking worried. Alice had a mug of tea placed in front of her. She bounded to me and engulfed me in a hug as soon as I entered, while Jasper seemed to let out his breath that he had been holding for what seemed like forever.
"How did you get here," I asked Alice.
"You should sit down Bella," Emmett said and I moved to the couch, sitting next to Jasper.
Edward handed me mug of hot water and an assortment of tea bags. I selected the mint tea bag and he sat next to me with his arm around my shoulder.
Alice took a seat opposite me and started telling me everything.
"So, when you fainted, the bouncer from Paul's bar grabbed me," Alice said and that's when I noticed the bruise like marks around her throat
"I'd had only a sip or two of my drink so I was completely in my senses. I'm so glad Jasper made me attend that self defense seminar, I was able to drive my elbow into the bouncer's ribs, which loosened his hold, so I could turn around and knee his groin and I punched him on the nose for good measure. He let go of me for a moment and I was able to run. Paul had already grabbed you by then. I knew what I had to do. Fortunately, I had the key to the car and I drove away from the bar so they couldn't find me. I stopped the car in an alley and called 911 first. They told me they've dispatched a team to rescue you. And then I called Jasper because I was so scared. Jasper asked me where I was and quickly deduced I was close to where he stayed. So he, along with Emmett drove to where I was parked. In the mean time, Edward called me, asking me where you were because you weren't answering any of his calls. I told him what had happened and he was furious. He asked me where the bar was and I was sure he would try to be your hero and I was scared he would end up doing something stupid. So when Jasper and Emmett reached me, I took them along to the bar. We saw that Edward was already there, looking for you. But there was no one there. Edward asked Jasper to take me home and he brought me here. I don't know what happened after that," Alice concluded, looking at Edward and Emmett.
"Well, Edward and I split up and started searching for Bella everywhere," Emmett started, "the bar was empty and there was evidence of struggle there. We knew that Paul wouldn't have taken you far. Edward found this one door which we hadn't seen earlier that led to an attic. We were sure that's where we would find you. Edward entered and I stayed behind in the bar to speak to the police, because I heard the police sirens just then."
I nodded, only then realizing how worried these guys would have been for me. I silently thanked God that Alice was in her senses and managed to quickly escape.
"Thank you so much...I am so lucky to have you guys around me," I gushed and I leaned into Edward's arms. He still hadn't said anything. I looked at him and he was staring straight ahead and his jaw was set tight.
Yeah...this Edward doesn't really voice his feelings, does he? Let me know what you think and if there is anyway I can improve the story or my writing style.
