I am not going to lie to you all here. I had a hard time writing this chapter. Not because I didn't know what to write about, but seeing two family members being reunited after a long time apart is almost heartbreaking for me. I know the feeling of being apart from my family for a long time. Anyways, I hope you like Donna's reunion with her mother. Sorry if I didn't come up with a better scene, but I hope you guys enjoy it.

Chapter 24

December 24. It was the day before Christmas day and everyone was getting their dinners ready, readying their families to arrive and bringing that Christmas joy. Near the small town of Greenville, Colorado, two figures were flying from a distance and landed outside the town. The figures revealed to be Donna and Raizen in their civilian clothes. While Donna was wearing a black jacket-coat, a beanie and earmuffs, Raizen was wearing a plain black shirt, blue Levi pants and black boots. The reason why Donna was wearing warm clothes is because she and Raizen saw that it was snowing in Greenville and wanted to wear something warm. And by the weather, Donna was glad to wear them.

She looks over at Raizen and asked "Are you sure you are not cold?"

Raizen shook his head and replied "I have been to places that make weather like this look like summertime. I'll be fine."

Donna then took a deep breath and said "So? Shall we?"

As Raizen nodded, the two of them made their way into the town. After a few minutes of walking, they saw the buildings were old-structured and weren't that new, probably repainted. Having a picture of Donna's biological mother, they asked around to see if anyone knows her. To their disappointment, no one knew her. As they were walking around, Raizen's stomach started to growl. Knowing that he was hungry, he and Donna went to a diner and sat themselves. After they ordered what to eat, they just waited.

Donna then looks at Raizen and asked "Wait a minute, how are we going to pay for this?"

Raizen reached back, took out his wallet and pulled out a credit card. He then replied "I got that covered."

Donna took a deep breath and said "How long do we have to continue to look for my mother?"

Raizen shrugged and replied "Who knows? Even though this is a small town, there still a lot of people living here."

As Donna sighed in depression, Raizen comfort her and said "Don't worry, Donna. We'll find her."

Once their food was brought, they started to eat it until the TV in the diner started to show some breaking news. When Donna and Raizen looks at the TV, a male reporter said "We are live at Greenville Junior High where a man is holding the staff hostage. Earlier, the staff was preparing for the Annual Christmas Dance when a man, holding a gun, began to hold them hostages."

"Oh wow," Raizen said as he looks at Donna, "Looks like we arrived at a bad time."

As Donna shook her head, the reporter said "That man was identified as Frank Robinson, who escaped from the state prison. Robinson was locked away for attempted murder on his ex-wife…"

Both Donna and Raizen looked at the TV and saw an image of Frank on the screen. Raizen then muttered "Oh crap, he escaped?"

Donna then asked "But why is he here?"

"What do you think?" Raizen asked, "Finish what he started all those years ago."

When Donna looks at him, Raizen said "Katharine is a school teacher who works at Greenville Junior High, if Frank is here…"

Catching on, Donna said "Then he is going to kill her!"

Raizen smiled and said "What do you say? What to save some hostages?"

As Donna smiled, she pulled up her sleeves, revealing her silver bracelets, and replied "I am always prepared for battle."

Inside Greenville Junior High, the escaped convict Frank was holding his gun and was pointing it at the staff. As he was looking around, he couldn't find Katherine anyway. He points his gun at one of the staff and asked in a demanding way "Where is she? Where is Katharine?!"

The staff member replied "She's not here. And why do you care?"

At that moment, Frank smacks his pistol across their face and knocks them to the ground. Just as he was about to do anything else, the doors of the gymnasium opened up. Aiming his gun at the door, he saw Raizen casually walking in. Once he entered the gymnasium, Raizen looks around then looks at him and said in an innocently way "I'm sorry, I thought this was the cafeteria."

"Who the hell are you, kid?" Frank asked in a demanding way.

Raizen shrugged and said "Just your ordinary student."

Frank then aims his gun at him and said "Move and I will shoot you."

All of a sudden, a silver rope wrapped itself around Frank's gun and was removed from his hands. When Frank looks over, he saw Donna holding her Lasso of Persuasion. As she gave him an angry look, when Frank was about to get his gun, a voice in front of him said "You shouldn't distract yourself."

Just as Frank looks back, he saw Raizen standing a few feet away from him. Alerted, Frank threw his right fist across Raizen's face, but the Saiyan easily moved aside. Frank continues the throw punches until Raizen raised his left arm to block one of this punches, pulled his right arm and delivers a soft jab into Frank's chest. The force of Raizen's jab sends Frank to the ground, out of breath and in pain.

As he clutched his chest in pain, Raizen smiled and said "What's the matter? I barely touched you."

Off to the side, Donna was leading the staff out of the building. The staff was surprised that these two young individuals were handling this hostage situation in a calm matter. Once the staff was out of the building, Donna walks over to where Frank was as he was still in the ground.

"You know," Raizen said, "For a big guy who tried to kill his wife, you aren't that tough."

All of a sudden, Frank got up, wrapped his left arm around her neck and pulled out a knife. As he placed his knife on Donna's neck, he said to Raizen in a threatening way "If you want your girl here to live, then you will get me a car."

However, Raizen points at him and said "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

Frank chuckled and said "Or what are you going to do?"

Raizen smiled and replied "Not me."

Just as Frank was about to ask, Donna grabbed his arm where the knife was, bends her knees and leaped into the air on towards the ceiling. With Frank still on her back, he got the full impact of the ceiling as he let's go of Donna. And when she got out of the way, Frank was sent falling back to the ground and landed hard on the floor. When Donna landed next to Raizen, he laughed at Frank's condition.

"Holy crap," Raizen said in an amused way, "You are being humiliated by two teenagers!"

In rage, Frank was getting up and shouted "I will kill you!"

With that, Frank charges at them. However, Raizen waited for Frank to get near, and once he was, Raizen swings his right leg across Frank's head, causing his world to blackout.

Outside the school…

As soon as the staff made their way outside the school, the cops made their way into the school to find Frank. And since they were informed that there were two teenagers in the building with the suspect, the police had to be extra careful while handling the situation. The moment they got into the gymnasium, their eyes widen in shock. They saw Frank knocked unconscious on the floor while Donna and Raizen were standing over him. Later on, Frank was under custody and both Raizen and Donna were questioned by the police. After that, Donna and Raizen was release while Frank was arrested back into custody.

Donna then took a deep breath and said "That's that. Now what?"

Raizen replied "Now that we're here, we can ask the staff where your mother is. Will make our search a little easy."

Donna begins to wonder and said "Wait a minute, if we have an address for her home, then why don't we go there?"

Raizen shrugged and replied "We don't know where the street is. That is why it is important to gather as much information needed."

As Donna nodded, they walked around to ask someone about where Donna's mother was. While that happened, a brown SUV pulled up near the yellow tape. Once it stopped, a woman got out and began to look around the crime scene. The woman had long black hair, blue eyes and was wearing a white dress shirt, black dress pants and black heels. As the woman looked around, she saw one of the police cars and saw Frank in it. She nearly stiffed in fear as it drove away.

Once the police car drove away, a voice behind her cried "Katharine."

The woman, identified as Katharine, looks back and saw a fellow female staff member. Katharine then said "Stacy, I heard what happened. I can't believe Frank was here."

"Yeah," Stacy said, "Luckily, he was taken out and arrested. Hopefully, he will be locked away for good this time."

As Katharine took a deep breath, she said "Glad to know you are alright. How did the police manage to get Frank without harming you all?"

Stacy stood quiet for a moment and said "Actually, it wasn't the police."

Before Katharine could say anything, Stacy said "Two teens just came out of nowhere and just stop him and got us out of there."

Curious, Katharine asked "One of ours?"

Stacy shook her head and said "No, I've never seen them before."

As she looks around to find Donna and Raizen, she saw them and points at them.

"That's them," Stacy said, "I saw the boy fighting Frank while the girl helped us out."

"Really," Katharine said as she looks at them.

The boy was extremely tall for his age and was very muscular, he was only wearing a plain shirt and no warm clothes. The girl on the other hand was slightly smaller than the boy and she was wearing warm clothes. She also saw them taking to another staff member. When she say them looking around, they noticed her and they points at her. Confused by this, when Katharine was about to wonder why they were pointing at her, she saw Raizen and Donna looking back at her. While Katharine saw Raizen grinning, she saw Donna in shock. As Raizen thanked the staff member, he and Donna made their way to Katharine. Curious on why they were walking towards her, she waited until the two of them were near her.

Raizen was the first to speak by saying "Excuse me, are you Katharine Kinston?"

Katharine nodded and replied "Yes?"

"My name is Jaden McKnight," Raizen said as he motions his head at Donna, "And this is my friend."

As Donna bowed at her, Raizen said "Is there somewhere we can talk…privately?"

Katharine raised an eyebrow and asked "Why?"

Donna replied "It's important."

Suspicious, Katharine said "Alright then."

She then looks at Raizen and said "I could find you some spare jackets for you to wear back home. I'm sure Jonathan is willing to spare some."

Raizen shrugged and said "I'm fine. I'm use to weather like this."

Donna then asked "Who's Jonathan?"

Katharine replied "My sister's husband. They're back home getting Christmas diner ready for tonight."

"Oh," Raizen and Donna said.

After driving a few minutes, Katharine brought both Raizen and Donna to where she lives. Once they got off and walked inside, they were greeted by Johanna, Katharine's sister, her husband Jonathan and their 11 year old daughter Heather. When they all greeted each other, while Heather was in her room playing with her dolls, everyone sat in the living room.

"So," Katharine said, "Why do you need to talk about?"

Raizen and Donna look at each other worried before Raizen said "We don't want to bring up any bad memories, but we want to talk to you about the time your ex-husband tried to kill you. If you are fine with that."

Katharine waved her hand and said "That is fine. I am use to it."

Donna then said "But we want to talk about what happened before he tried to kill you."

"Before?" Johanna asked, "What are you two talking about?"

Raizen replied "Well…we looked over the case file and something didn't add up."

As everyone raised their eyebrows, Donna said "We noticed that you had a child during the time of the crime. And soon after that, there was an Amber Alert issued for your daughter."

Holding back some tears, Katharine said "Yes, I pray to God everyday that she is found. It breaks my heart that I am waiting this long to find her."

"Well," Donna said, "How was the Amber Alert issued?"

"That was me and Jonathan," Johanna said.

Jonathan then said "While me and Johanna were dating, we heard about what happened to Katharine. When we heard her daughter went missing, we issued the Amber Alert."

"Did you know how she went missing?" Raizen asked.

Katharine replied "I don't know. If you read the reports, I had her with me when I was being chased by Frank. And when he got me, I must have blacked out."

Raizen looks at Donna and gave her a suspicious look. From what Wonder Woman said, Katharine handed Donna to her before Frank found Katharine. Why lie about her handing Donna over? Was it so that Frank cannot find her?

Donna looks at Katharine and said "Is it possible that Frank took her?"

"That's what we are scared of," Johanna said, "When Frank was arrested and questioned where Donna was, he told us that she was not with Katharine."

Pretending not to know, Raizen said "Donna? Isn't she Katharine's daughter?"

"You read the reports," Katharine said, "You should know."

Jonathan then crossed his arms and said "Why are you interested in knowing about Katharine's daughter? It has been over 17 years since she was lost."

"Something about that doesn't add up," Raizen said, "If Katharine said that she blacked out when Frank caught her, but claims that she did not Donna with her, what happened to her?"

"Isn't it obviously?" Johanna said, "Because Frank was mad that Katharine for thinking she cheated on her, he could have killed her too."

She then turns to Katharine and said in an apologetic way "I'm sorry, Katharine."

"They haven't found her body," Katharine said, "I know that she is out there."

Raizen smiled at this. Donna saw this and realized it was time to reveal herself to them. When Donna nodded, Raizen looks at Katharine and said "Are you sure about that?"

"Yes," Katharine said, "I am positive she is alive."

"Why?" Raizen said, "Is she in someone's care?"

Katharine's body stiffened up when Raizen said that. Confused by this, Johanna said "What are you talking about?"

"Since Donna's life was in danger, surely it is a mother's job to keep her child safe," Raizen said, "You must have done something to keep your daughter safe."

Katharine crossed her arms and said "Are you suggesting anything?"

Raizen replied "I am suggesting that maybe you have given her away."

Katharine slightly gasped and said "No…that's not…"

"Yes you did," Raizen said.

Johanna then said "Katharine, what is he talking about?"

But Katharine quickly said "Nothing, I have no idea what he is talking about."

"I know the truth about that night," Raizen said as he motions his arm back and forth from him and Donna, "We know the truth."

"And what are you saying?" Jonathan asked.

Raizen took a deep breath and said "We know that Katharine gave away Donna to keep her safe."

The moment Raizen said that, Katharine gasped and finally said "But…no, there's no way…"

Confused by all this, Jonathan said "Katharine, what exactly is he talking about?"

As Katharine sat there not able to speak, she finally gave in and said "I didn't want Frank to get Donna and do God know what to her. So…when I was running, I ran into a woman and I…gave Donna away to her."

Shocked by this, Johanna said "You what?!"

Katharine said "It was either that or let Frank kill her."

Something didn't add up and she turns to Raizen and said "But…how did you know that? I never told anyone."

"Well," Raizen said, "Let's just said that me and my friend here know the woman you gave your daughter to."

"What?!" everyone shouted.

Katharine stood up and said in a surprised way "You know who she is?!"

As Raizen nodded, Katharine asked "Then you know where my daughter is?"

When Raizen nodded once again, Johanna said "Wait, how do you know the woman? What kind of person is she?"

Raizen and Donna hesitated for a moment until Donna said "We can give you a few hints: she sometimes no TV, is part of a group of powerful individuals and is a…Amazon warrior."

That last part threw everyone off. An Amazon warrior, as in a female Greek warrior? What kind of a woman is she to claim herself to be from a mythological figure? Unless…

"What a minute," Jonathan said, "Amazon warrior…"

He then looks over at Johanna and said "Sweetheart, isn't that Wonder Woman an Amazon Warrior?"

"She is," Raizen said, "And she is the one who took Donna."

Everyone's eyes widen when he said that.

"You mean that the woman I gave my daughter to is Wonder Woman?" Katharine asked, "As in the same one who is in the Justice League?"

Donna nodded and said "The same one."

"But," Katharine said, "How do you know her?"

Raizen looks at Donna and asked "Should we tell them?"

Donna thought about it and replied "Probably for the best."

As Raizen nods towards them saying to talk to them, Donna looks at them and said "You see…the reason we know Wonder Woman is because me and my friend here are, somewhat, associated with the Justice League."

Shocked by this, everyone just gasped at what Donna said. Jonathan found his voice and said "You two are with the Justice League?"

"Sort of," Raizen said, "Since we are too young to joined, the League created a group for people like us to join."

Johanna was thrown off a bit and said "But…why are you telling us this? Shouldn't your 'group' be kept a secret form people like us?"

Raizen then replied "Not unless Katharine's daughter is involved."

"Wait," Katharine said, "So…you know my daughter?"

"Yup," Raizen replied.

"Then you know where she is?" she asked again.

Raizen thought for a moment and replied "She is closer than you think."

Not understanding, Katharine just gave him a blank look. Finally deciding to let Katharine know of Donna's presence, he just motions his head towards where Donna is. Seeing Raizen motioning his head; Katharine, Johanna and Jonathan just look over at Donna and just raised an eyebrow. If Raizen said that Katharine's daughter was near, then why would he move his head towards…

That is when Katharine knew exactly what he was trying to say. She found her voice, looks at Donna and said "No…it can't be…are you…"

At that moment, Donna smiled and said "My name…is Donna Troy. I am your daughter."

Once she said that, there different reactions in that room: Raizen was smiling at the situation, Jonathan and Johanna were both shocked and surprised, and Katharine was just sitting there with a few tears running down her cheeks.

Wanting to continue, Donna said "I am an Amazon Warrior like Wonder Woman. I was raised by her and many of my Amazon sisters. And…since I was trained by her, I am part of my friend's team and given the codename Wonder Girl. It was a few months ago that I discovered that I was actually born here instead of with my sisters."

"And once Wonder Woman told me about Donna's past, with some help, I helped Donna figure out her past and who her family is," Raizen said, "And here we are."

After he said that, the whole room was dead silent. Johanna broke the silence and said "Wait, so you are Donna? OUR Donna?"

Donna smiled and said "Yes, I am. I mean, I know this is hard for you all to believe but…"

In that moment, Katharine practically jumps out of her seat, rushes towards Donna and just gives her a loving hug. Surprised by this, Donna just sat there motionless until she starts to wrap her arms around Katharine.

Katharine finally found her voice and said "Donna, my sweetheart…"

She couldn't take it anymore; Katharine just broke down in tears. Donna then shed a few tears of her own as she found with her birth mother. Finally, after almost 18 years, Katharine was reunited with her daughter. Jonathan and Johanna sat for a moment until they got up, rushed towards the mother and daughter and starts to hug them. Raizen just sat there and just smiled at the scene. It was good to see a family together after being apart for a long time. After spending a few minutes together, they all departed.

Katharine wiped away a few tears and said "So…you're a hero then?"

As Donna nodded, Katharine smirked and said "I can't believe it, my daughter is a superhero. And you said Wonder Woman trained you?"

"Yes," Donna said, "My sister trained me and taught me everything she knows."

"Incredible," Johanna said, "So you can deflect bullets, use a lasso, fly and those other things?"

To answer her question, Donna simply started to float in mid-air and said "More than you know it."

As everyone was amazed by this, Jonathan looks at Raizen and said "And what about you? What can you do?"

Raizen replied "It is difficult to explain my powers to you all. But let's just say that I overpower Superman in every way. And that is a proven fact."

"What?!" everyone shouted.

"You? Powerful than Superman?" Jonathan asked, "That's impossible."

Donna landed and replied "I have seen the abilities he can do and it's safe to say that he can defeat Superman in combat."

"Speaking of which," Katharine said, "Where is Wonder Woman?"

Donna replied "She is with the Justice League at the moment. She said she has too much responsibilities to attend."

Katharine then said "Well, tell her to stop by. I want to thank her in person for looking after you."

She then hugs Donna once more and said "It's good to see you again."

When they departed, she said "There is so much we need to talk about."

"And we have time," Donna said, "I have been given the time off and I want to know more about my family."

Shocked by this, Katharine said "Really?"

Raizen then said "Consider this an early Christmas gift from us."

Donna shook his head and said "It was his idea to find you before Christmas. Without him, I wouldn't be able to find you."

Katharine looks at Raizen and said "You did this for her?"

Raizen slightly nodded and said "Yeah, well…I figure she should know her real family."

"That is so sweet of you," Johanna said, "So, when was it that you two met?"

Raizen sighed and said "It's a long story."

After that, they all spend their time talking about each other's life. When Heather heard that Donna was her long lost cousin, she squealed in excitement to know that her cousin knows Wonder Woman, who was Heather's favorite hero. And later on that night, they all had Christmas dinner and spent the night waiting for Christmas to come. Outside. Donna was standing on the porch when Raizen walked out and saw her.

He walked up to her and said "Donna, it's everything alright?"

Donna looks at him, smiled and said "Everything is great. I finally get to meet my birth family all thanks to you."

"Well," Raizen said, "You should thank Robin. He was the one who went out of his way to find the information."

"But it was you who thought of the idea and brought me here to meet them," Donna said.

She then hugs him and said "And I couldn't thank you enough."

Raizen smiles as he hugs her back. As the two of them were hugging, they heard a faint laughter near them. When they look, they saw Heather in the doorway with her hands in her mouth. Before they were going to ask why she was outside, she pointed over their head. When they look up, they saw a mistletoe above them.

Heather sweetly said "You are under a mistletoe! Now you have to kiss here!"

Surprised, the two of the blushed and Raizen said "What?!"

"That's the rule," Heather said, "You have to kiss!"

Donna then said "Who made that rule?"

Inside the house, Johanna's voice then said "You better do before she gets mad! And trust me, you do not what her mad!"

As Donna and Raizen looked at each other, Donna sighed and said "There's no way out, huh?"

Raizen replied "I guess so."

And just like that, the two of them slowly move towards each other and kiss on the lips. Thinking that it was just a simple kiss, but the two them couldn't move away. And instead of moving away, Donna unknowingly moved her arms around Raizen's neck while he wrapped his arms around her waist. After a moment together, the two of them departed. It was then when Donna and Raizen discovered something together. The two of them were starting to develop feelings for each other. It had taken this long to figure it out, but they finally admitted it through that kiss. They couldn't explain it, but they know that they were meant for one another. As the two of them stared into each other's eyes, time started to slow down around them as Christmas Eve soon passed.

I know there was a little fight scene in this chapter, but I wanted to focus on the reunions more. And sorry for being the chapter a bit long, but I wanted to get some detail right. So yeah, Donna and Raizen are finally together. I know it was kind of cheesy and not what you all expected, but this is all I can think of and I didn't want them to admit to each other until the end like I did in my first Dragonbal Z/Young Justice story. So yeah, the Donna/Raizen pairing has finally started!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Because starting the next one, that is when the real action begins!
