Thank you all for waiting this long for a chapter. But I would like to apologize in advance for making this chapter short. But I promise that I will make the next ones longer. But I have some bad news. I will be going on my winter break and won't be updating for a while. But I promise that I will come back with more chapters. And there will be an announcement at the chapter, so stay tune for that. With that, let us begin!

Chapter 27

The Team rushed into the Watchtower infirmary to find Raizen's condition. To their shock, they found him lying down on the bed with UVs connected to him, bandages were wrapped around his body, there was blood on the bandages and he was knocked out. As the Team watched in shock, Donna was almost breaking down in tears at the condition Raizen was in. While the Team was looking at Raizen's condition through a window, the League was outside talking to Superman.

"What happened out there?" Batman asked.

Superman shook his head and said "I don't know. Darkseid is stronger than before. I don't know where he got these powers, but this means we have to be extra carefully when facing against him."

Wonder Woman sighed and said "Poor Raizen, how was it that he was easily defeated. He has faced off against enemies stronger than us. Why Darkseid?"

Superman sighed and said "That's the thing about Darkseid, he can come up with something to get stronger."

Batman looks at Raizen's unconscious body and said "And now we know how strong Darkseid is, we have to prepare ourselves when he returns with his fleet."

"Right," Superman said, "Let's make sure we get everything ready when Darkseid gets back."

When they all agreed, the regrouped with the League while the Team joined them as well. The only person who stayed behind was Donna, who was sitting beside Raizen's bed. Heartbroken to see Raizen like this, Donna was crying and gripping his left hand as tight as she can without hurting him. As Donna was crying, she felt Raizen's hand gripping her hand tightly.

Getting her attention, she looks at Raizen, who was barely gaining conscious. In joy, Donna said "Raizen!"

However, Raizen began to cough violently and made Donna worried. When Raizen opened his eyes and saw Donna, he said in a fainted way "Donna…"

"I'm here," Donna said, "I'm here, Raizen."

Raizen then said "Darkseid…he's…going to…kill us…all…"

Worried, Donna said "What are you talking about?"

Raizen replied "He's…going…to…die…he…has…my…DNA…"

Confused, Donna said "Has your DNA? What does that mean?"

When Raizen was going to reply back, he drifted back to sleep. As Donna tried to wake him up, she was unable to. Although she does not want to leave Raizen alone, Donna needs to tell the League about this. She then gets up and rushes to find a League member. After traveling around, Donna found her sister along with the League and the Team gathered. She rushed up to Wonder Woman and said "Sister, I need to tell you something!"

Wonder Woman looks at Donna and said "What is it?"

Donna replied "It's Raizen."

Once she said that, everyone turned their attention to her. Wonder Woman said "He's awake?"

"Well," Donna said, "No. But he told me something before he went back to sleep."

"What?" Robin asked, "What did he say?"

Donna replied "He said 'Darkseid's going to kill us all' 'He is going to die' and 'he has his DNA'."

When she said that, everyone was both confused and shocked. Batman then said "What did he mean about Darkseid going to die?"

"I don't know," Donna said, "That is what he said."

Batman then said "Let's go and ask him then."

As Batman was walking away, Donna follows him and said "You can't, he is resting right now!"

When they were all approaching Raizen's room, there was a flash of white light emitting from his room and it died down seconds later. Worried about Raizen, Donna rushed towards Raizen's room, and to her horror, Raizen's body was gone!

"By the gods!" Donna shouted, "He's gone!"

"What?!" everyone shouted.

Everyone rushed and saw that Raizen was no more. Everyone looked around the room and Robin said "How is it that Raizen's body is gone?! Where did he go?!"

"I don't know!" Artemis said, "You don't think that…this is how…you know…"

When Zatanna looked around the room, she felt something and said "Wait a minute…I sense magic around here. But, that's impossible."

"Magic?" Batman asked, "You mean Raizen was taken by someone who uses magic?"

Zatanna shrugs and replied "You got me. So far, that looks like it's the best solution we can come up with at the moment."

Superman sighed and said "As much as we would mourn for this, right now, we have a bigger problem to face in a few hours. We all need to get ready when Darkseid arrives."

"But what about Raizen?!" Donna shouted, "We need to find him!"

Wonder Woman places her hand on Donna's shoulders and said in a comfortably way "And we will. But we cannot do that with everything that is happening at the moment. I promise, if we survive, we will do everything in our power to find him."

As Donna sighed sadly, she nodded in agreement as of saying she fully aware of the situation. It hurts Donna that Raizen disappeared out of nowhere, but she needs to stay focus on Darkseid and his fleet. Once she relaxed, Batman said "Come on everyone, let's make our final preparations. It's time for us all to fight for Earth."

Once he said that, the Justice League and the Team left Raizen's room to prepare for the fight of their lives.

Raizen groan in pain as he opened his eyes. When he tried to sit up, he managed to do so. Once he regained his eyesight, he looks around and saw that he wasn't in the infirmary. From the looks of it, it looked like some sort of a temple that had pure white color to the structure. When he got up and looked at his body, he saw that his bandages were gone, his wounds were healed and he was just wearing a pair grey sweatpants. As he looks around he starts to wonder where he was.

Now being alerted, Raizen raised his hands and said in a demanding way "Okay, who's there? Come on out before I level this place!"

All of a sudden, there was flash of white light that temporary blinded Raizen for a moment before dying down. In front of Raizen was a young woman with long blonde hair, pale skin and blue eyes and she was wearing a white dress with long sleeves that covered her body. The woman smiled at Raizen and said "Hello again, Raizen."

Raizen knew who this woman was and said "Nella? Is that you?"

Nella nodded and replied "Of course, I told you we would meet again."

As Raizen looks around, he asked "Where are we?"

Nella replied "We are in my Temple of Light. I have brought you here to help you gain the power to defeat Darkseid."

Raizen looks at her and said "Have you seen him fight? He stole my DNA so that he can gain more power. And what's worse, if we don't stop him, he could destroy Earth. Me and Superman have fought against him but we were unsuccessful. Not to be rude, but how can you help me?"

Nella replied "Remember when I mention that I will give you your reward? Well, I am here to give your reward. I only bestow this reward to those I see worthy."

However, Raizen sighed sadly and said "Nella, I have to be honest…I don't think I am worthy."

Nella gave off a confused look and asked "Why would you say that?"

Raizen looks down and said "I've…I've lived a life of…death and destruction. If I told the Justice League, my friends and…Donna about my past and about my race, they would never look at me the same again."

Raizen looks at his hands and said "The things I have done when I was with my kind, I couldn't do it anymore. I didn't want to live that life anymore. And as soon as I saw an opportunity to escape from that life, I took it."

He then looks at Nella and said "Nella, I admit that I have spilled innocent blood, but I've been trying to redeem myself from my sins through helping out the League and my teammates."

Nella sighed and said "I have noticed this."

As Raizen gave off a shocked look, Nella said "When I regained my memories and my powers, I have sensed your aura. I sensed darkness in your heart and felt the pain you have inflicted on others."

When Raizen looked down in shame, Nella then said "However, I also sensed regret, sorrow, pain, and most of all, I sensed your spirit was broken. These are the emotions that one goes through when they are lost and have lost their faith."

She then said "But when I see you now, I sensed that you have regained that faith back."

Raizen looks up at her, raised an eyebrow and asked "What do you mean?"

Instead of replying, Nella waves her right hand and a huge mirror appeared before them. Before Raizen could say anything, images started to appear in the mirror. Once it cleared up, Raizen saw himself in his Saiyan armor and he still had his long hair getting out of his space pod!

Nella then looks at Raizen and said "The first time you arrived on Earth, you wanted to find a way to distract your pain from your past. But unknown to you, it was the beginning of your path of redemption."

All of a sudden, the images started to change as Raizen saw himself fighting against Metallo for the first time and saving the Team. Afterwards, Raizen saw Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman arriving at the scene, and when Superman offered a handshake, he saw himself just giving the cold shoulder and flying away from them. The next image showed Raizen him fighting against Ares and saving Wonder Woman.

Nella then said "It was during this time where you unknowing found the path you were meant to take. And it was the start of your new life."

The images then changed to him and Wonder Woman facing each other and they started to shake hands with each other. Nella walked next to Raizen and said "And from that point on, you have learned valuable lessons in your travels."

At that moment, the mirror started to show Raizen himself with everyone on the Team. Nella then said "You have learned that you would protect your friends from any danger, even if you risk yourself in the line of duty."

Images started to flash before Raizen and he saw himself fighting alongside his teammates: from facing against Scarecrow and he had to face his teammates while they were under the influence of the Fear Gas but he manages to knock them out so that they can be cured of the Fear Gas. Then the images fades, and in its place, showed Raizen helping the Team face against villains like Livewire, Grundy even the Injustice League.

Nella then said "You have learned compassion."

The mirror then showed Raizen protecting the girl who was being bullied by Jackson as he saw himself humiliating Jackson in front of everyone. Next, the images changed into when saved Nella from her prison.

As Nella placed a hand on Raizen's shoulder, she said "You have proven that you have a good heart, despite being a tough person."

The mirror then flashed and showed Raizen with the Team gathered in the base hanging out while talking and laughing about their life's stories. Nella then said "And the most important thing you have learned is to love and be loved in return."

When the mirror flashed one more time, it showed Raizen with Donna kissing under the mistletoe. From there, it showed Raizen him with Donna, from their first meeting, to them saving Wonder Woman all the way to where Raizen helped Donna find her biological family. As the images faded, the mirror disappeared into thin air. Nella walked in front of him and said "You have showed valor, strength, courage and sacrifice. These traits have proven your worth."

Raizen looks at her and said "Worth of what?"

Nella took a deep breath and said "I have been into your mind and saw something that your kind have been talking about. A legend among your people."

"A legend?" Raizen asked, "What do you…"

But before he could finish, his eyes widen and knew what she was talking about. He then said "What…are you talking about THAT legend? But…But that's impossible. I thought someone with a pure heart can live up to that legend."

Nella smirked and said "And you don't? Raizen, you have proven yourself and, even if you don't know it, you do have a pure heart."

She then spread her arms and said "And with my help, I will help you achieve this power to aid you to defeat Darkseid…"

Her whole body started to glow and said "For it's time for you, to fulfill your destiny."

All of a sudden, a beam of white light shot out of Nella's body and into Raizen's chest. Suddenly, his body began to glow in white light. Somehow, Raizen's body was beginning to feel a bit lighter than usual. When he looks at his hands, he saw that light was pouring outwards from his hands. And every passing second, Raizen felt himself becoming more and more powerful. One thing Raizen couldn't believe was that fact that he was about to fulfill a legend that has been told for over thousands of years. One legend that foretold a powerful Saiyan achieving great powers. To think that this Saiyan was him! As Raizen's body was covered in white light, one thing was going through his mind, and that thought was:

Darkseid is going to fall.

That's right people! Nella has returned, I told you that she will appear later on. And you all know what they meant about a Legend among the Saiyans, but don't spoil it for those who don't know about it! But wait a bit longer for it!

And now time for the announcement: sad to tell you all this, but this story will reach it's end in a few chapters. Maybe a few chapter after Raizen face off against Darkseid, but after that, this story will come to an end. Now I know you guys would like a sequel to this, but the truth is, I have other projects to work on and one that is underway, so after this, this will be it for my Dragonball Z/Young Justice (DC) stories. I know you want more, but this will be it. I thank you all for sticking with me to the end.
