A/N: Thank you for the reviews, even though I didn't get that many. I suspect it has something to do with the lack of Tamy in the last chapter. Anyway, this chapter does have Tamy in it, so I expect lots reviews for this one. Hint, hint. :)
Chapter Twenty-Two
That What Was Broken, Is Now Fixed
"Ponies eat," the two-year-old little girl leaned across the kitchen table to slide the purple pony known as Princess Twilight Sparkle into one of the stalls of her My Little Pony Stable, though it looked more like a castle to Amy. She sat next to her daughter, playing with her anyway. "In here." Lily continued, now moving Fluttershy, the yellow pony with the pink hair, into another stall. Playing along, Amy made the pony she held, the white one with purple hair, into a stall too.
"No, mommy!" Lily stopped her, taking the pony from her mother. "Ar-tee, eat here." She moved the pony up onto the balcony of the stable. Honestly, Amy didn't know what a balcony was doing on a stable, but she smiled at her daughter's mispronunciation of Rarity.
"I'm sorry," Amy apologized to the little girl. She picked up another pony. "Where does Rainbow go?"
Lily sat back in her chair and pointed to an empty stall. Amy put the blue pony into the stall, and then picked up one of Lily's favorites, Pinkie Pie. Lily smiled big and pointed to the last empty stall. She closed all the stall doors and folded her hands in front of herself, like she was proud of what she's done. Then, she seemed to notice something because her face fell suddenly.
"Oh, no," Lily gasped. She pointed at the lone orange pony left standing outside the stable. "Where Apple go?" The play-set only came equipped with four stalls, so Amy shrugged, wanting to see if her daughter could figure something out.
Lily sat there for a few seconds, thinking. She tapped the pony, Applejack, on the table a few times, almost as if it would help her. Then, she perked up like she'd had a sudden idea. Lily opened one of the stalls, the one with the purple pony inside, and put the extra pony in there.
"Arckle share," Lily explained.
"Good idea," Amy praised her, pushing some of her daughter's hair behind her ears. The little girl had wanted to dress up today, wearing a navy-blue, long-sleeve dress with a white bow cinched around the middle and a sketch of a white flower on the front.
"This looks like a nice game in here," Ty said as he came into the kitchen. Lily didn't take any notice of his arrival, though. She was too busy making the ponies come out of the stalls and lining them up.
"What happened? I thought you were playing with the boys?" Amy asked him. They had one more kid in their herd today, after Rebecca had asked if they could watch AJ for her. She had said she was going to talk to Adam, saying that she'll probably be gone most of the day. They both assumed that wasn't all she was doing today.
"I was, but," Ty shook his head as he kneeled down between his two girls. "I don't know how my sister does it. That kid goes from one thing to another in less than two minutes. Poor Jack was just going along with everything."
"Daddy play ponies," Lily joined her daddy in on their play, sliding Rainbow Dash over in front of Ty. She, herself, had Twilight and Pinkie in her hands.
"Thank you, my little pony," Ty said, kissing her on the side of her head. Lily beamed grandly at her nickname. Ty picked up the pony Lily had given him and made it 'gallop' around the table. At last, he made it rear up, mimicking a real horse's whinny. Lily giggled loudly, and so hard that she rocked back in her chair. Even Amy laughed, especially when Ty the wiped the spit from his chin.
Suddenly, a loud scream came from the living room, and a moment later, Jackson appeared in the kitchen, his face red with tears in his eyes. All three of them turned to look at him. Being closer, Ty opened his arms and Jackson ran into them, crying.
"What's wrong, buddy?" Ty asked, rubbing his son's back.
It took a few tries to actually understand what the toddler was trying to say through his tears, but eventually, Ty was able to figure out why his son was so upset. "AJ...bite...me!" Jackson cried out, hiccuping.
"What? Where?" Ty asked, a bit shocked. AJ was always a calm, easy-going kid when Ty was around him, the toddler was never one to get angry enough to bite someone. Rebecca had even said that AJ was doing great after everything that happened with Adam, no after-effects.
Jackson pointed to his arm, and Ty rolled up the toddler's sleeve of his navy blue shirt. The mark was red with a faint outline of teeth, nothing serious. Jackson, though, was still sniffling, so Ty kissed his ouchie and gave him another hug. Ty stood up and handed him to Amy.
"I'm going to go find AJ," Ty said. Amy nodded, and settled Jackson onto her lap. Lily, who had been staring the whole time, pulled all her ponies closer to her, so that her brother couldn't touch them.
AJ was in the living room, playing with some matchbox cars he'd brought with him, on the floor, even making the sound effects. He wore jeans, like Jackson, and a red-and-blue flannel shirt. Ty walked over to him, not sure what to say. It wasn't his place to discipline him, but he knew that his sister wouldn't let her son get away with that.
"Hey, AJ," Ty said, sitting down on the floor with the toddler. AJ looked up at him briefly, then went back to playing his cars. "Jack told me you bit him. Did you?"
AJ shook his head, without looking up at him.
"Are you sure about that?" Ty asked him. AJ's hand dropped from the car he was pushing, then he looked up at Ty and stuck his tongue out at him, pushing it out as hard as he could. "Hey, none of that."
"I thought your mommy told you to be good today," Ty said, and AJ's tongue slowly slipped back into his mouth. "Do you want me to tell her, you haven't been being very nice?" AJ shook his head.
"How's everything going in here?" Amy asked, when she came into the living room. She was still holding Jackson and Lily was right behind her.
"Yeah, in fact, I think AJ has something he wants to say to Jack," Ty said, looking pointedly at AJ. Amy put Jackson down on the floor as AJ got up and walked over to them. AJ said he was sorry and gave his cousin a hug.
"I've got an idea," Amy proposed when the boys separated. "How about we have lunch and then we can go to Maggie's and get some ice cream?"
There was a chorus of yeses as all three toddlers jumped up and down. Ty stood up and walked over to Amy as the kids started shouting out what kind of ice cream they wanted. His arms wound around her waist and her smile only got bigger.
"Good idea," Ty said, smiling. Amy's fingers slipped through his belt loops and pulled him closer.
"I've got plenty more where those came from," Amy replied. "I'm a woman of many tricks."
The space between them disappeared as their lips brushed against each other. The kisses were light and feathery, teasing. Giving in, but still saving some for later. They smiled against each other, and Amy snuggled into him. This was their own little blissful moment, but of course, like others, it ended.
"I cream! I cream! I cream!"
The chanting continued even when Amy and Ty ushered the three toddlers, laughing, into the kitchen for lunch. The quiet only came when the toddlers' mouths were full of applesauce and hotdogs.

Rebecca didn't know how long she sat in her car, trying to work up the nerve to get out. It didn't help that Caleb sat outside the trailer, watching her. Just watching her, not making any move toward the car. She started to question why she'd come in the first place, thinking it was too late for them. It was probably just a waste of time being here, it was obvious he didn't want to see her. But something made her get out of the car anyway. Rebecca took a deep breath as she walked over, smoothing down her rose-colored sweater underneath her open leather jacket.
"I know, I'm probably the last person you want to see," Rebecca said, stopping right before she reached the deck.
Caleb didn't say anything.
Rebecca cleared her throat and continued, "I just wanted to offer an apology," She licked her lips. "It wasn't fair to you, the position I put you in. I handled everything wrong and people got hurt."
"Look, Becky," Caleb started to interject.
"No, please, let me finish," Rebecca interrupted, though she was relieved to know that he was at least talking to her and the way he said her name like that gave her hope. "I just want you to know that you weren't some kind of placeholder. When we first met, I was in a bad place. I was alone and pregnant, not sure what I was going to do next. You were there for me when I needed someone and I don't regret falling in love with you, but you need to understand something."
"You don't have to explain," Caleb said, reach for a bottle on the table. Rebecca quickly swiped it up before he could touch it and sat down next to him on the couch.
"Yes, I do," Rebecca replied, and took a deep breath. "The reason I couldn't let go of Adam was because I thought I owed him something. We've known each other since we were kids and the week before my mother died was when the secret about my father came out." She stopped to collect her thoughts and blink back tears. Caleb didn't reach out to her. "I felt so mad and betrayed that I stopped going to the hospital and so, I didn't get to say goodbye. Afterward, I fell into this deep hole of guilt and depression. Adam was the one, who pulled me back up and convinced me that life was still worth living. He told me that it wasn't my fault and he gave me the strength to finally forgive my mother."
"I'm sorry," Caleb whispered. His hand lifted a bit, looking like he was going to take her hand, but in the end, he dropped it back down on his leg.
"I've never forgotten that Adam is the reason I'm here now," Rebecca added. "When I found out that he had a problem, I wanted to save him because he'd saved me. I tried, Caleb. I tried to save him, but I wasn't enough. I wasn't enough to save him!" The tears were finally too much as they fell one by one and she choked on a sob. Hesitantly, she felt Caleb wrap his arms around her and she rested her head on his shoulder. After a moment, Rebecca pulled back, wiping away her tears.
"I know now that this is how it has to be," she said. "Adam signed away his rights to AJ. He needs to be the one to pick himself up and put his life back together. I've let go of the past and I'm ready to move forward. But I completely understand, if you don't want to be in this anymore. I'll be okay with it, but I hope you'll consider to still being a part of AJ's life. He loves you so much and he's been through a lot. The last thing he needs is to lose his father."
Caleb's eyes widened a bit.
"It's true," Rebecca said. "I don't care what his birth certificate says, you're more of a father to AJ. In every way that counts."
Finally, Rebecca was out of words to say, feeling like she's said everything she came here to say. She waited for him to say something, but he didn't. The silence stretched out between them, forcing her hopes to fall lower and lower. Then, slowly, Caleb's hands moved up to cup her neck and then, his lips were on hers. The kiss was slow and deliberate, full of wanting but mostly unsureness. Rebecca kissed him with even more intensity, wanting to show him just how much she wanted this.
Caleb pulled back though, and looked at her in the eyes. "If you think that it'll be easy to walk away from the two of you, you're crazy." he told her, his voice low. "Being away from you has been the hardest thing I've ever done, and I don't want to spend another minute without you."
Rebecca smiled, "I told you it was a long story."
"What?" Caleb asked, his eyebrows drawing down in confusion.
"That's what I told you when we first met. When you'd asked me, why I'd come here," Rebecca explained, her smile getting bigger as he smiled back at her.
Their lips met in another kiss, this time nothing was held back. Passion was alive. Emotions were high. They did, after all, have a lot to make up for. Rebecca's chest swelled with happiness and love, feeling secure and wanted right where she was. She couldn't believe she had almost given this up, let it slip right through her fingers. But no more. From now on, Rebecca was holding on tight and never letting go.
~OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~
The ice cream trip turned out to be a good idea, all the kids were on their best behavior while eating lunch and driving to Maggie's Diner, though they all wanted to sit next to the window in the car. Amy was able to talk Lily into sitting in the middle, so that she could look out the big window in the front, needless to say, the little girl was super excited about that. Now, they sat at a table at the diner, big enough for all of them. The toddlers were eagerly awaiting their ice cream, banging their spoons on the table. Amy leaned in toward Ty, laughing.
"Aren't you glad we didn't have triplets," Amy teased. Ty smiled at her and caught her hand on top of the table. His thumb stroked the back of her hand, sending shivers racing up her arm.
"Yay!" all three toddlers cheered when the waitress brought over three bowls of ice cream to the table. Jackson had vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, AJ had plain chocolate, and Lily had a strawberry sundae. The little girl's eyes widened at the size of the sundae, neither Amy nor Ty thought she'll be able to finish it.
"Wow, look what you got," Amy said. Jackson beamed and stuck his spoon into his ice cream. Then, he momentarily got distracted and started picking off the sprinkles by hand and eating them. Amy directed him to use his spoon and the little boy scooped up a heaping pile of ice cream, most of which ended up on his face instead of in his mouth.
Five minutes later, they were all still in the midst of their ice cream, not showing any signs of slowing, except for Lily. The sundae was proving to be too much for her, Ty ended up trying to coax her into having a few more spoonfuls.
Lily shook her head for the umpteenth time as Ty held the dripping spoon out to her. "Ok, daddy's going to eat it," Ty warned her, turning the spoon around and bring it closer to his own mouth. Lily just looked at him until he actually put the spoon in his mouth and she smiled, letting out a big laugh. She looked over at Amy, pointing at Ty.
"Daddy!" Amy pretended to gape, pushing Ty lightly on the arm.
"Lily doesn't want it," Ty said, taking another bite of ice cream.
"I do! My turn!" Lily exclaimed. She opened her mouth, waiting for Ty feed her some. Ty happily obliged, though he alternated between giving her some ice cream and some to himself. Every time he did the latter, Lily would giggle loudly.
Amy watched the two of them adoringly, then turned to see how the boys were doing. Both were still going at it, their faces messy and sticky with their efforts. It took Amy a moment to realize that Jackson was using his hand to scoop the ice cream sloppily into his mouth instead of a spoon.
"No, no, Jack," Amy said, startling the toddler when she grabbed his hand before he could put it back in his bowl. She used a napkin to clean his hands, then abandoned it and pulled out a wipe from the diaper bag that sat at her feet. She chuckled when Jackson tried to lick the wipe when she ran it over his face. "Use your spoon like a big boy, ok?" Amy handed him his spoon back after he was all clean. Jackson nodded, and took the spoon from her.
"Mommy!" AJ suddenly burst out, using his spoon to point at the door of the diner. Sure enough, when they looked, Rebecca was entering the diner, but she wasn't alone. Caleb was with her and they were holding hands. Ty had texted her, letting her know where they'd be in case she'd wanted to meet them here.
"Hi, mommy," AJ greeted, sweetly.
"Look at you, chocolate-face!" Rebecca gasped, good-naturedly as Caleb pulled up two more chairs for them to sit down. "Have you been a good boy?" She pushed AJ's hair out of his eyes. AJ nodded as he went back to his ice cream.
"There really was no problems," Ty said, choosing not to mention AJ's small tantrum from earlier.
"Thank you, again, Ty," Rebecca replied, earnestly.
"No problem," Ty told her, sitting back in his chair. Lily had taken the spoon from him and was now taking small bites of her ice cream. "I see you two have worked things out."
"Yeah, we have," Rebecca blushed, looking down. Then, to take the focus off of herself, she turned to AJ. "Did you see who else came?" She pointed behind the little boy.
AJ whipped his head around and a big grin split his face. "Daddy here!" he screeched, and everybody laughed.
Suddenly, AJ didn't want to sit in his booster seat anymore and started to climb out. Rebecca started to reach over to get him, but Caleb was already lifting the toddler out of the child seat and settling him onto his lap. Watching the two of them get reacquainted, Rebecca knew she had made the right decision.
The group stayed until the kids had their fill of ice cream. After about ten more minutes, they were sure the three toddlers had enough. Jackson was pretending his spoon was a car and was sliding it across the table, making tiny engine noises. Lily kept rubbing at her eyes, her ice cream a soupy mess in the bowl and AJ sat, dozing against Caleb. They paid for the ice cream and cleaned up the kids, Amy and Ty feeling just as exhausted. As they carried the kids out of the diner and went their own ways, they all wore smiles on their faces, knowing that this was just one of many happy, good days to come.
A/N: Well, how was that for a nice, fluffy chapter? I can promise you that there are definitely more where this one came from. Review if you want to read more Tamy goodness! :)
